Returned iPhone because of Outlook sync - good service from AT&T
I returned my iPhone - I finally gave up trying to sync with Outlook after 8 hours on the phone with Apple support and countless hours on my own.
I bought the phone at AT&T and they were very nice about taking it back. I was a few days beyond the 14-day trial so I was really impressed with AT&T's behavior here.
I'm back to my old Windows Mobile phone that syncs perfectly every time.
So you dropped your phone and it is Apple or AT&T's fault? I fail to see the logic of that. You mean that the manufacturer should be responsible for how you take care of your products? After you cancel with AT&T who are you going to get a new phone from? EVERY carrier has the same policy. So when you drop your T-Mobile phone and cancel that account, then do the same with Sprint, then Verizon, there will be no carriers left and you will be without any phone.
You should go back to the Allstate agent who told you this and you may be able to make a case.
If you purchased it with a credit card the credit card company may cover the loss; many card issuers do.
AppleCare says in bold type that it doesn't cover accidental damage. Didn't you read the contract you signed?

This could be caused by a USB connection issue. Make sure the iPhone is directly connected to the Mac using the USB cable it came with. Also, try disconnecting all other USB devices.

If you put information into one calendar and it synced to the other phone, then it sounds as if you are using iCloud, not Outlook. You need to check that. When I asked about the type of calendar, I was asking if this was your own Outlook, or were you using a work Exchange calendar. If you don't know the difference, I would say it is probably personal. If you look at calendars in the bottom center, are there more than one calendar listed? Do you see an ICloud calendar? Do you see an Outlook calendar?

Thanks - got stuck with the upgrade to 10.6.8, but Apple Support was able to navigate me through that, the date settings caused a problem here.

Connect your 3GS in recovery mode and restore, you'll get the option to reset the passcode during this process:
iOS: Unable to update or restore and iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software. -

A new Apple ID represents a new user, and cannot do anything with data from another user.

Hi and thanks for any enlightment on this subject in advance! I recently purchased a iphone4 and it doesn't get as good as reception as my LG old phone does in my mobile home in Torrance, CA . I turned the phone on and off and also removed and reinstalled the sim card. Of course both phones were operating with the same carrier which is at&t. Any other Ideas I might try?
This is vewry interesting ... I have the exact same problem (distorition with high frequencies when playing ipod music @ 320mbps) with my wife's iphone 4 using bluetooth through the JVC KWXR816 but not through my iphone 4. Mine plays perfect.

My iphone 4 is not syncing the music from my itunes library.
I tried to restore the iphone and everything else has been backed up, but the music is not syncing.
I have the "automatically sync" option checked, and have unchecked the "manually manage music and videos" option unchecked. (due to prior suggestions.)
Space is not an issue no is the type of files (all MP3.)

My iPhone 5 will not sync any music from iTunes
I have ios 7.0.3 (the most recent update) and the newest version of itunes, and have never had a problem like this before. I am using the same computer I always do, which is authorized.
Yesterday I attampted to add 100 songs, which were already on my itunes, to my iPhone; my phone responded by not accecpting the new songs and deleting over 2500 songs previously on it. These songs still show up in my music app but will not play, iTunes also says that they are on my phone.I have tried adding these songs back multiple ways, such as: manually dragging them to the right of the screen and onto my phone, using the "on this iphone" option and adding songs, the normal way to sync music via checking off the playlist, and by adding the music by album, but to no avail. Each time I try this the sync begins, showing that I have approximately 4 GB free with the added music, but ends quickly (within 7 syncing steps maximum, not including music syncing) saying that I have around 18 gigs of open space, but the titles of the music still show up as being on my device. My phone still claims that there are 2700 songs on it, but refuses to play a vast majority of them, A few times when I have tried syncing I recieved a message claiming that my phone could not finish the sync.
Whatever is going on, I just want my music back as quickly and easily as possible.
Does anyone know how to go about fixing this?When you synced with iTunes It would have tried to replace the music on the iPhone with what is on the computer. which is what happens when you sync with iTunes.
If the songs are purchased you can re-downloaded them Pretty easily. You mentioned that you still see the songs and that you could not play them. Do they have a Cloud symbol next to them? If so this means that you can download them but that they are not on the device. -
Help! iPhone will no longer sync my playlists from iTunes
My iTunes playlists synced to my iPhone with no problems. Today I decided to change some playlists. When I went to sync them to my iPhone, all my music disappeared and none will sync. It appears that when it gets to the music sync, it just stops. With no errors of any kind.
My contacts and videos sync with no problems.

I have a 4g iphone without the IOS software ( or the latest version of it.) I have exhausted the devices that I can exchange info. on which I believe is 5. 3 o out of the five broke. I am able to sync my phone and get apps, books, and music (thankfully from my phone to my latest computer, but not vice versa. In order to update and downlaod the IOS software it says I need to back up all of my info. Will purchasing the latest subscription of icloud 24.99 per year help me or should I just excpet that I will lose my lateset notes, text messages, and contacts through the update. I also want to make sure that after I update, I will be able to get all of the info back onto my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
