Returning New Old 3.06 Ghz iMac For New New 3.06 Ghz iMac

Well of course I could not wait any longer and pulled the trigger on the 3.06ghz machine last Tuesday. Yes, I know I know you all have me to thank for this week actually being the long awaited imac update Tuesday. Just call me Murphy. Or maybe you don't want to thank me from the looks of many unhappy campers posts flying about.
But getting back on point I'm going to bring my nice new "old" baby back for the new new one with the 4 GB DDR3 RAM and the Nvidia GT130 - not to mention the 1 TB HDD vs my current 500 GB drive.
My question is, should I wipe this machine clean? I've got some stuff on it but in all honesty held off on really dumping everything I have (did not put my windows os or stuff on it yet etc) in case there was an update within 14 days of my buying it. So it's safe and still pretty clean.
Do I have to wipe this clean or can I trust Apple to simply re-image on it's way down the refurb line?
Any help much appreciated. Here's to hoping I don't have to eat the 10% rsf and can swap for even price!

Hmmm I don't know.... The more I research and the more bmarks and GPU Z screens that pop up, the more this "GT130" smells to me like an *NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS.* Which actually is a bit clock slower than the previous 3 ghz 8800GS - which is actually an 8800 GTS btw (clocked down a bit).
None the less the 9800m is a decent enough card. It's certainly a good choice for efficiency as it reportedly runs 75Mhz max. But unless it's an oc'd Apple Special (and they very well could be - often are) it's not better than it's predecessor.

The Activation server for AA 7 was taken down. I am not sure this link is complete, but it might give you some idea. However, on WIn7 and newer, AA7 has problems and will only work with some workarounds, and then kind of clunky.

You'll also want to make sure you have fulfilled any commitment on your current iPhone. If you purchased it on contract then you'll need to make sure you have completed the terms of the contract. Some carriers won't allow you to upgrade to another phone until you have either met your commitment or paid off the existing contract. Check with your carrier before selling your existing device. Apple has an out of warranty replacement program, the cost in the US is $199. I don't know if any original iPhones are still available under this program(remember, that phone was discontinued sometime ago), but even if they were, why would you spend $200 on a discontinued phone?

Well....you cannot use the srx400 to talk wirelessly with the wrt300n....however , you can run an ethernet cable between the two routers....set the ip add of the srx400 to 192.168.1.2 and disable it's dhcp....

I just bought an ipad mini for my 7 year old. we have other ipad, computers, iphones etc under my apple Id. I don't want my son to access some of my information, however many of the games and apps I've purchased are for him on my devices so I wouldn't have to re purchase them if I use my id.

Its really up to you how you manage your kids content. Think about what you want him to access. Do you want him to access Messages? iCloud? Facetime? or only the iTunes and App Stores?
You can use your Apple ID for just the stores so he can access the purchased Apps for free but avoid setting up an Id for the other services if you don't want to. In the end its up to you whether you want to create an ID for him at this point. You certainly don't need to.
You can also use restrictions to setup some parental controls.

As to the age restrictions to create an apple id, you need to enter a valid date above 13 years of age to create one, but no one is stopping you from lying about his age. As long as you are sure about what you are doing and are prepared to handle the Apple Id access it should not matter what age you enter.

When in I tunes the Genuis recomendations has not refreshed since I intalled the newest version. Only show 5 covers and only 2 song tiitles. Never gives me new choices which I do use for finding new music. Any ideas out there?

I agree... I am trying not to whine... but be helpful to others if they experience the same while get input before I make the decision to return (which I am leaning towards)… It’s still a great phone – but I expected something different. I also have been coming the internet and forums to see what other people think as well to make sure I am not being oversensitive about it. $300 for a 16gb is not buyers remorse kicking in… it’s just I am not sure if I see much of a difference from my perfectly good (8month old) iPhone 1st generation…
But yes… if all iPhone 3G were problematic it would be in the news… so I err on the side that I may be a unique situation or simply did not make a well informed decision when going to 3G.
Still… the idea of turning 3G off to get a full day of use out of an iPhone… even moderate use that most of us would expect w/o charging midway or multiple times is a bit much to swallow.

Whilst using FF20.0.1 and now with FF21 the new tab thumbnails fail to open for each new session. Why?

For a long time my chosen websites appeared as thumbnail images on the new tab page when I began a new session, maybe since about FF15, I don't recall for sure. Recently, however, whilst using FF20.0.1 this behaviour stopped and none of the thumbnail images for my selected websites opened up, although the links to them remained and this behaviour has continued to FF21, which I have been using since yesterday (19th May). This is not a serious issue, but I do like things to work properly and to understand why they don't. I don't know why there should be a relationship between the two events, but the problem began after having opened the new tab page and before the images opened up I clicked on one of the links - where the thumbnail image would normally be - to go to the website; thereafter FF failed to retain a memory of the thumbnail images from one session to the next. By the way, I never empty my history cache only my main web cache that has previously had no effect on my new tab thumbnails, not since about FF15 or so anyway.

When I opened FF about ten minutes ago I noticed that the new tab thumbnail image I had brought up from my previous session had been remembered, so I opened some of the other websites listed to bring back their images too; I then shut FF down, re-opened it and the new tab page to find all the images had been recalled. Next, I shut down the computer to determine whether or not the images were getting lost that way; on rebooting the computer and launching FF I again found the images were still there. Now I closed the new tab and emptied the main cache (43 MB); on opening the new tab the images were still opening (you will recall that when the new tab thumbnails first came out they disappeared on emptying the main cache). Bearing all this in mind I have not yet tried your suggestion of temporarily disabling the add-ons in safe mode because if the thumbnail images came up that would not currently tell me anything. Also, the problem I described in my first post does not remotely coincide with the installation of any add-ons, which have not been recent. Given then that my thumbnails are appearing after the cache has been cleared where does FF get them from now? I still don't understand this recent behaviour and why for the moment the problem is not occurring. Thanks again.

Recover / Move old emails on a failed HD to new MacBook Air

I can I recover my emails (and possibly keychain password, FTP setting etc) from a failed HD via thunberbolt ?
I have managed to back up via tunderbolt, manually, most of my documents/files folders but before I send my iMac for a new HD I really need to save my emails

If the drive has failed and cannot be accessed, whatever files contained on it cannot be accessed.
Have you made any attempt to repair the drive on the iMac using the Mac OS X 10.6 DVD?
Here is the method.
You have to boot from the 10.6 install DVD.
To do this: Insert the Install Disk into the drive and then select Restart; when you hear the chime hold down C key until the apple logo appears.
This will take you to the installation software, but you do not want to install.
Select your language, then go up to the top menu bar where it says Utilities and navigate to the Disk Utility application.
Select your hard drive on the left, then go to the First Aid pane where you can click on Repair Disk.
If it finds errors, repeat the process until it reports no errors, otherwise note down the error.
After these repairs, quit the Installer, and restart normally.
It may find error it cannot fix. Write down the error it finds and post back here as other software may be able to fix it.

PO Delevary address not coming at item level for a New config Plant WO S Lo

Hi Gurus,
I have configured a new plant and address is maintained for this new plant. for a newly configured company code Plant and company codes are properly assigned. Now I am using present P. Org and assigned this to plant too. I am using this plant for basically non stock type of materials and no storage locations are maintained for this plant. Now I have created a New vendor for this P org and tryng to create a PO. But at the time of creation of PO I am getting as Error "Maintain Address". When I checked, I found that at item level, under delivery tab, Address number which was suppose to be for this plant( since no storage location is maintained for this) should come automatically, which is why I am getting an error. Can some one please explain if I missed something?
