Returning old device when upgrading with Edge?

I have had issues getting a return label so that I can send in my old device as per the Edge agreement. I've gone down to the local store multiple times, they hadn't received the return labels they had "on order". I attempted to print one off of MyVerizon online, but every time I tried, the link wasn't working. It was day 14 yesterday, from when I got the new phone, and I finally was able to get a return envelope and label from my local store this morning, but now I need to find out what all goes in the envelope. Certainly, I cannot just put my old phone in there with out paperwork or documentation? I want to make sure it is credited correctly to my account, and, unfortunately, my husband through away the original paperwork. I just spent almost ten minutes calling in to customer service, when it dropped me off of hold, and went to a busy signal. I have searched through the FAQs for answers with no luck. Please help?!?

You will need your original receipt so that we know who the phone belongs to and why you're returning it. We have to send you a Edge device return bag. Trying to return old device as part of Edge program??

I got a new phone in October and am now on the Edge agreement. The agent at the store didn't mention the need for me to return my old device. A month later I start getting emails threatening a non-return fee if my old phone isn't returned, at which point I start calling asking for the shipping material to be sent so I can return the **** thing. That was over three months ago. Every time I call I get the same canned response that they are sending out the envelope/mailing label, confirm address, blah blah. And still no label (I finally got the shipping envelope after 3 calls and two months of this). I have this non-return fee sitting on my account that every agent I speak to promises will be suspended while I sort out the return of my old device. Now my bill is due and it's demanding I pay then entire past due balance, including the non-return fee. So apparently the fee was not suspended. I'm so angry right now. Every time I've called in I've been promised things that have not materialized. I just want to return the old phone, get the non-return fee removed, and wait out my contract until I can change to a carrier that won't jerk its customers around like this. Anyone else have a similar issue -- how did you get it resolved???

I hear you. I dealing with the same issue. Many many phone calls and today I recieve a text that they are suspending service. Are you kidding me. Initially verizon store never asked for my old phone, then I finally get you to send me a shipping label, you can't seem to locate it and it's my fault because I can't find the tracking number. Verizon sent me the label so shouldn't they have that number? Going to dig through a weeks worth of trash tonight and hope to find it otherwise they tell me I have to pay 350.00. I've been a customer for a good 13 years and have never had a late payment. If I can't find this tracking number and get stuck paying for this phone. Good bye Verizon. I'm so disgusted. No one is willing to help.

Wondering how to mail in my old device (upgraded with edge)

used a wireless advocates kiosk at work for my upgrade and they didn't have any means to ship my old device to verizon and since i've gone back someone new is working and is clueless

What to do with old phone when Upgrading (NE2 plan) ?

I have an LG DARE that is 20 months old and still works perfectly - screen in excellent (non-scratched) shape; had had a "protector" on it ...
What do people do with these older phones? Is there a Market to sell them some place? Or do I just recycle via the VZN store?

If you chose this option, you can trade-in your device and get a gift card to use towards your purchase. You can also keep your phone if you would like and you would not process a trade in. You can also use our Edge program as well, if you are eligible. You can check your Edge eligibility online via your My Verizon account. You have quite a few options and all you would need to do is select which one works best for you!

HT201318 How do i swap icloud devices when upgrading iphone?

i have just upgraded from iphone 4s to 5s, i have succesfully brought all my info from icloud to my new phone which is all fine.
when i come to back up the new phone to icloud it is doing it is a seperate device to my old phone therefore doubling the storage space requirement, i don't want this to happen as i will be selling the old phone.
i dont want to buy more storage because i clearly dont need it
i want to remove the old phone from icloud and replace my new device on that account
how do i do this?

Settings > iCloud > Storage + Backup > Manage Storage > [Tap the unneeded backup] > Delete backup
Your new phone is already on the account if you're already signed into that iCloud account on it.

Is there a way of deleting old files when upgrading to Lion

So I'm finally thinking about switching over from 10.6.8 to 10.7.5. Normally, when I upgrade to a newer OS, it's usually when a newer OS than that comes out. ie. Mountain Lion is out, so Lion would have seen it's issues and has been updated as much as it can. Basically, 10.7.5 is the best Lion will ever get. Hence why I'm willing to upgrade. I'll admit, I'm lazy when it comes to having to reinstall everything, but because old OS extensions and kernels don't get deleted when you upgrade to newer OS, I usually install a clean OS, which means I have to reinstall all my apps. I'm wondering if there's a way for all older OS system files that are not necessary anymore, to be deleted upon upgrading. Or will Apple ever design an upgrade that will do so.

Can't use my old HDD after upgrading with new one,old is GPT protected

Hi everyone! First of all I would like to thank you in advance!
Recently I upgraded my old HDD on my MacBookPro. I made a clone of the old disk, installed the new one in the MBP and putted the old one in external enclosure. Now I'm trying to use the old disk with the enclosure, but it doesn't appear in Finder, it appears in Disk Tools, but I can not perform any actions on it. I tried to erase it, but with no success! The old disk is GPT protected and I don't know what to do. Tried to erase it with Windows and Linux with no success neither. I know the enclosure works because it recognize every other disk, but my old one is untouchable to my Mac OS! I'm looking for possible ideas on how to make my old HDD usable with the enclosure?

Target gpu on the device you're testing .. you'll get much better results.
You can do it on the xml configuration file on <renderMode> or if you're publishing in flash on the settings of renderMode select GPU.
Also get rid as much as you can from vector graphics and use bitmaps instead.
You can use Adobe's method of converting a vector in bitmap like this : myMC.cacheAsBitmap = true;
And also if you're moving an object, scaling or changing it's transparency use myMC.cacheAsBitmapMatrix = new Matrix();

Do I need to replace old RAM when upgrading?

I have a late-2008 Macbook Pro 15-inch 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 1x 2GB DDR3 RAM card in one of the two slots. The other slot is empty. That RAM Card came with the laptop, so it is 7 years old now. I want to max out the RAM at 4GB. Can I leave that RAM Card and just buy another 2GB card or is it better to buy 2x brand new 2GB cards? Or does it not make a difference in performance at all? Thanks.

A late 2008 15" MBP, model identifier 5.1, can accept up to 8 GB RAM. I suggest that you install as much as you can if you plan on running Yosemite.
Any combination of RAM modules will work in your MBP, but a matched pair is far the best for maximum performance.
The best sources of Mac compatible RAM are OWC and Crucial.

Can someone explain the more everything plan with edge up

I have a share everything plan with 4 smartphones and 6 gig of data. we are soon due for upgrades due to our 2 year contract being up. I am starting to do some research and am confused on how the more everything plan with edge up works.
questions
1. do we have to buy new phones to get the discounts offered by this plan?
2. will my company discount still work with the discounts of the edge up plan?
3. my 4th device is a year oir so from upgrade elegability do we need to wait or can we put that device on the edge up plan now?
4. if we upgrade to this more everything plan with edge up do we need to turn in our old phones?

Upgrading is always exciting, gbright! You can save up to $25 per line when upgrading with Edge. This does require you upgrading your device and accepting an Edge agreement. You will still qualify for your monthly employee discount off the More Everything access charges as long as the plan is $34.99 or higher. Each line has its own contract/edge agreement. You do not need to wait for the 4th line to be eligible to take advantage of Edge or the discounts. If you are eligible for the standard Edge, you do not need to trade in your current devices. You only trade in the devices when it is early edge. I can provide you more details in a private message.

Why must I return a device I own?

I have a device I have had for 2 years and am NOT on the edge program. Why must I return it if I want to upgrade early on the edge? I can understand going from edge to edge but I OWN my device and it is NOT on the edge program currently.

If you have had the phone for 2 years as you say, you DON'T need to return it if you want to go on Edge. You say you want to "upgrade early", though, which means you HAVE NOT had the phone for 2 years. If you want to keep your phone, simply complete the contract you agreed to before switching to Edge. Then you DON'T have to return your phone when going on Edge.
Yes, you may OWN your device but Verizon OWNS a contract you agreed to in order to get your phone at hundreds of dollars off the retail price of that phone. Verizon is simply making you trade the item you own for the item they own. You don't want to make the trade, simply complete the contract and you won't have to.

Why can you NOT get a straight forward answer on upgrading to Edge?

On Saturday morning I called customer care with a SIMPLE question about how the Edge Program works. The lady I spoke with gave me information that didn't make sense and told me one of my lines could move to edge and the other could only after 6 months of on-time payments. That didn't make sense to me, how could one be eligible and not the other when the explanation of WHEN would be eligible is contingent upon 6 months payments. I was so irritated I started shopping at other carriers to see what their "Edge" like programs work like and was considering switching carriers. So, I called back and spoke with another guy to find out what my ETF's were and he informed me that I COULD upgrade both lines to a Note 4 for about $5 above what my bill is a mo. each with all of the discounts applied. I told him that I would go to a Verizon store and probably upgrade instead of cancelling. So, I went to the store and was treated TERRIBLY!! I was told that I could not move both of my lines to the edge program with the Note 4. I was told I could move to Edge with both lines but one would have to be a Droid and the other could be whatever phone I wanted. I was blown away with yet another piece of information that was not matching up with what I was told. He said I could call customer care and see if they could do anything. I was BLOWN away that a corporate Verizon store would just turn me away (which was extremely demeaning and embarrassing in front of their other customers) to call customer care again and tell me my best option would be to cancel if I wanted a new phone for the line I wanted to upgrade. So, I called customer care again and spoke with another lady who correctly informed me (I think) of how it works and stated there was nothing she could do on the line that was not eligible which should have been told in the previous conversation with the guy I spoke with. One thing struck me as odd, she said the phone is on a lease with Edge so the phone is never yours, which is something NO ONE mentioned at any point in any prior conversation. So, is that true? I now know where I stand with upgrading but my original questions about how Edge works are still not fully answered and what the last rep stated brings up other questions. If it's "leased" what happens if it's broken or lost? Anyway, I was looking for what I thought was a straight forward answer to a question about how Edge works, how much it costs, and are my lines eligible, etc. and wasted a good hour on the phone and another two driving to a store just to get turned away like as though no one even cared! The last lady I spoke with seemed to care but I'm blown away with the TERRIBLE customer service and COMPLETE lack of ownership. Why can no one take the feedback and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT and then answer my questions about the Edge program. Bottom line, I'm not looking for a freebie upgrade (though maybe I should for all of the time wasted due to incorrect/inaccurate information). but I'm blown away that no one wants to do anything.
That all being said, can someone on here explain how Edge works with the discounts and is the phone really a "leased" phone? Pretty sad that I'm resorting to forums to ask other customers how it works but would appreciate any info anyone can share. I'm probably going to port both of my numbers to AT&T if it is true they are a lease and due to all of the terrible customer service.

I just saw in another post that if it's an "early" edge I would have to turn in the phones. No one told me that either and now I wonder if just forget Edge and port out. What's the advantage of doing Edge with all this confusion and red tape? Is an early edge considered early if you're upgrading with Edge prior to the contract end on the current phone? Verizon Customer Care and Stores REALLY NEED to be up front about this stuff! From what I see here and what others are going through Edge is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE program.
