Reuse Web Template properties: "Store in library" Button not existing?!

Hello,
following the instructions on http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1f/37813b650cdc0be10000000a114084/content.htm
it is said that I should do the following to save and reuse the properties of a web template (not a web item):
"To save the properties of a Web template in a library, choose Save in Library in the lower section of the Web Item tab page."
But there is no such Button, Link or something else labelled with "Save in Library". Unforunately, there is not screenshot available in the online help, so I even have no idea how the screen SHOULD look like.
Can someone help or try this out and give me feedback? I almost believe that they describe something which just does not exist in the Web Application Designer.

Dear Orla,
thank you for your reply. We only use the 7.x WAD. Do you or someone else know if there's a chance to obtain the same functionality in this version? I just want to make some template properties reusable like I do with other web items.
And yes, the help file is obviously for 3.x. I didn't recognize that when I read it for the first time.

Was config tool working earlier?
Please check if direcories sapmnt & saploc exist are you are able to access them.Check permission on it.
May be your windows server got patched and some security policy got changed.Worth a revisiting and checking.
Other thing you can try is take a backup of bootstrap.properties file and modify the location of library from
server\sapmnt\J2EE\sys\global\security\lib\tools to \usr\sap\J2EE\sys\global\security\lib in the bootstrap file.

ITunes Library Buttons Not Working

I have been using iTunes for a long time and have never seen this issue before, but now, when I open itunes, I can not use any of the links / buttons under the Library section on the left. I can open the iTunes store and navigate around just find, but when I click on any of the Library buttons, it attempts to load something but nothing actually loads.
For example, clicking on Music will load the Genius right sidebar (doesn't load the entire thing, but displays the gray box) but thats it. Nothing in the main area. When I click on Movies, I see the top tab buttons "Movies, Genre & Unwatched" but nothing in the body. Its like its completely hosed.
I've gone about fully uninstalling iTunes (and I mean FULLY) and re-installing, but I get the exact same results. Any thoughts on this one?

Trash the iTunes Library file in your iTunes folder and put back the backup copy... check the name is correct 'iTunes Library'
Put all your backed up music in the iTunes Music folder.
Start iTunes and it should all work... as a check set the preferences > advanced > general tab NOT to copy any files when adding to Library and DO keep iTunes Music folder orgaized... OK any changes.
From the file menu select 'add to library' and choose the iTunes Music folder.

Web upload error message: the resource does not exist

Hi - I am trying to build a few Flash-based web galleries from within LR using selections of images made as 'Quick collections'.
I have entered my FTP settings and saved as a selection - including testing that LR can get access to this by selecting the browse button next to the server path.
When I hit upload, I see the following progress detailed in the progress pane and then an error dialog:
- checking FTP connection settings
- exporting image bin
- building web photo gallery
'An error occured sending the file : the resource does not exist'
Any ideas?

Report group and report library does not exist

Dear Guru's
We are not able to execute the report S_ALR_87013019 in production. After doing analyses, we came to know that library 602 & report group 6OBU does not exist in production, and hence we are not able to excute this report.
We have to tried to import from client '000' from transaction code GR59, But in that we are not getting 6OBU report group.
Please help us to resolve the issue, as we required this report on priority basis.

The solution given by you is to transport the report library from Dev Client. But our client does not transaport the reports in production system.
Is ther any other solution to retrieve the library.

HT201272 Why is the library button not appearing in iTunes 11.0.1?

On iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC, which might make it easier to navigate. Secure Store lib Dir does not exist

My system: Enterprise Portal 6.0 in Windows 2003 R2 in SCS-instance in MSCS Cluster
Having moved all ressources to node 2 I can no longer start my appl.server on node 1, since it searches for the Secure Store on P:, which is only available on node 2.
I would like to update the path of the Secure Store to an UNC-path. Problem is that the only reference to P:\ I can find (and therefore makes sense to change) is in <DIR_INSTANCE>\j2ee\cluster\<node>\cfg\kernel\ConfigurationManager.properties, where node is dispatcher or server[012] (4 locations). Other relevant files point to the UNC-path already.
I can see all files in ..\cfg\kernel is updated at the time of my last attempt to start the appl.server, so I suppose the P:\ reference is stored elsewhere...but where?

I need help adding an additional button to a web template

Hello,
I am trying to add an aditional button to a web template I inherited. I am not a web person just trying to fill a gap at the company.
If you look at my test server www.pondviewtech.com I want to add another button above the request demo one. I have tried a bunch of things: making the button smaller, adding a similar line to my index file as the same button, deleting the "Welcome to" text. The best I could get was this www.pondviewtech.com/buttontest.html . I have attached my buttontest.html file. I couldn't figure out how to paste a few lines of code in this page.
I didn't create the template so if it is a mess don't worry about my feelings.

WEB trigger Button from Template include item from another Button

Hello experts,
on a web template we want only one button to
a) execute a template specific planning function (with a fix variable value) and
b) trigger a template included button (same button is used for several web templates and therefore saved in an individual Web Template, which then is included in the other web templates.)
This way the rather complicated logic of button b) only needs to be maintained once
How can a button a) on the individual web templates trigger the button b) ?
In Workbooks it´s easy by enhancing the VBA code of the Button - but how do you do this in Web templates?

two possible solutions:
1) Backend: Combine the logic of buttons a) and b) in a planning sequence
2) Frondend: Use JavaScript to create your own logic for the button:

Instead of putting the complex logic for directly on the button (b), embed is as JavaScript in the reusable template. Then you can call it also from other templates.

         I m working on a Upgrade study from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 for Web Templates,web items and java scripts.
Below is the scenario of the client system:
New web templates are created from the 6 master web templates available for publishing to a custom Portal (created using BSP and hosted on the WAS). TOOLBAR and FOOTER are custom web templates used in all Master Templates and contain various JavaScript functions and footer code respectively.
TOOLBAR provides the Toolbar, header and buttons functionalities in the Master Templates via the contained Javascript functions. FOOTER displays the date and time of issue as well the logged in user.
FOOTER1 and FOOTER2 are web items derived from FOOTER web template. They have different set of web item properties and are used to create web templates used through the custom Portal.
It is observed from BW Tables that out of 100 unique Web Templates available in the system, 90 are using TOOLBAR template and 95 are using FOOTER template.
No external Javascript .js files are used in the Web templates. Most of the Javascript functionality is contained in TOOLBAR and no other custom javascript in master templates. However, there are some derived web templates where custom javascript is contained.
Following is the process to create custom Web Templates in development server that are eventually transported to QA and Production:
1)     The appropriate master template is identified and saved with new name in developer role.
2)     Dataprovider is added to corresponding web items.
3)     From the library, properties are transferred from master template to the custom template.
4)     Report title is added in HTML tab.
5)     No changes are needed in the Web Templates Properties except change of value in Show Jump Target in field to the portal Frame ConPortal or _self in case RRI is to be used.
6)     Some properties like Title, Width in Pixel, Affected Data Provider, etc. needs to be adjusted. Changes can be done to web items seen in Overview tab except the FOOTER and TOOLBAR web items. These web items are saved as reusable components in Library.
7)     After all the changes the web template created is transported from development server.
To summarize, all master data for creation of web templates like reusable master templates, web items in library, web templates containing Javascript code are stored in dev. server. Custom web templates created from these are transported.
I want to validate the sequence of migration as below:
Following sequence has to be followed for the Web Templates and Queries Migration in development BI 7.0 Server:
1)     Migrate the Individual BEx Queries first and perform functional testing.
2)     Migrate the TOOLBAR template manually (create as new in BI 7.0 Toolset) and FOOTER template automatically (using Migration Tool).
3)     Manually migrate the JavaScript code in TOOLBAR. Please refer to section ..for more details.
4)     Migrate the library of reusable web items, if any.
      (What to do if web item is custom or is not supported in BI 7.0)
5)     Migrate the Master Web Templates manually (create as new in BI 7.0 Toolset) and automatically (wherever possible) and perform functional testing.
6)     Migrate the custom web templates automatically (wherever possible) and manually, if automatic migration is not possible. Perform functional testing and data provider binding.
7)     Perform jump target binding wherever applicable.
8)     Transport custom templates, TOOLBAR and FOOTER to QA and Production subsequently.
Also i have the following questions:
1. How to migrate functionalities accessed thru web templates like jump queries, general navigation blocks with filter, table interface, and are data providers automatically linked to web items or have to be done manually post migration.
2. Do we need to migrate the library of reusable web items also.
3. After migrating the master web templates and javascript containing templates to BI 7.0, can we migrate automatically the custom webtemplates derived from master templates and containing the custom javascript that is now avaialbe in BI 7.0, will they pick up the custom code automatically.

Hierarchy selection using a dropdown in IP web template

Is it possible to have a dropdown on my IP template where I could see all the 0COSTCENTER stored hierarchies ?
What I'm really looking for is replicating the functionality of the dropwdown found in:
In the query - > Click on the Char - In Properties Window - Right Hand Side - Hierarchy Tab (which displays the hierarchies for the infoobject).
But i cannot find the template to view how SAP has done it there.

Hi Martin,
One easy way of solving is to include the WAD command TRANSFER_STATE at the end of all the Planning function / Sequence commands attached to the Button.
This will refresh the WAD layout without having to reenter the variable values if any.
The other Option is to reset all the variables associated with the execution of Planning function after every execution.
This can be included under Web template Properties so this happens after every refresh of the layout.

Error in saving Web Templates

I am currently seeing a problem in creating new Web Templates in Web Application Designer in SMD. The error occurs when a Web Template is newly created or when an existing Template is modified but clicking the OK button in the error dialog screen allows you to proceed with saving the template.

Check and make sure BI and Portal connection is configured. Use note 917950 for checking this.
Also make sure you have the latest WAD SP level (Sp 12)

WAD: Push button not displaying some Web Items

Hi All,
I have a web template 7.x in which there is a push button for "Export to PDF". There are some changes carried out to this web template, to include one radio button web item. My requirement is to display this Web Item on the export to PDF page.
I have included this radio button web item in "Export to PDF" button list. However still it is not displayed on Export to PDF page.
Is there any other setting which i am missing?

As per SAP Note 1069368 which talks about the limitations of Export to PDF functionality in WAD 7, the following webitems alone are supported on Export to PDF:-
Supported Web items
Analysis item
Report item (see also the section 'Web application export with report items')
Chart item
Map item
Information item
Text item
List of conditions
List of exceptions
Images (only from the MIME repository, see Note 484390)
Thus Radio Button cannot be included in the exported PDF.

How to recall variable screen in Bex web template 3.5 ?

When I execute a BW web report and I want to recall the variable screen in order to modify a variable , how to ....
Also how to export to excel ? is it possible to export table + graph ?
Indeed in query designer , when you execute the query, you see icons to do these task. But when you execute the web template, you don't have automaticaly the icons' bar.....
How to display this bar ?

Hi Michael,
In the web template properties there should be a tick box called 'display variable', the web template will now show the variable entry screen.
You can create a commad with the command wizard which will allow you to export to excel or show graph and table.
