Reusing Screen Recordings in Captivate 6

Hi:
I have created a screen recording (software demo) in one captivate project that I want to reuse in another project.  Is there a way to import the slides from one project into another project in Captivate 6?
I am running Windows 7, Captivate 6.1
When I try to copy and paste the slides, they appear faded in the new project.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
Stephanie

Hi Lilybiri:
It seems that there is an object on my master slide that is a semi-transparent shape which was in the foreground and causing the slides to look faded.  To fix the issue, I created a new master slide with no objects on it and unchecked the "Show Main Master Slide Objects" and "Use Master Slide Background" boxes, then unchecked the "Project Background" box.  I applied this new master slide to my screen recordings and everything looks as expected.
Thank you for your quick response.  Maybe this post will help others as well.

  • QuickTime 10.1 Screen Recordings are Blurry Once Imported into Premiere Pro CS6

I am doing some screen recordings on my Mac using QuickTime 10.1, but when I try to import them into Premiere Pro CS6, they are poor quality and blurry. It's difficult to read text and logos on the recordings are showing up fuzzy. Anything I can do to improve the quality with what I have? I'm trying to do a new site demo, so I'd like to have things appear more clearly. I am, however, by no means a video expert or Premiere Pro expert, so a lot of the output names and labels, I'm not familiar with. Is that what I'm doing wrong?

  • QuickTime 10.1 Screen Recordings Blurry Once Imported into Premiere Pro CS6

I am doing screen recordings with QuickTime 10.1 that appear to be of good quality until I import into Premiere Pro CS6 and then they display and export very poorly and very blurry to the point that you can't read the text on the page. Any suggestions to fix this problem?

    Hi Kristine,
Make sure that the clips are positioned on the X,Y axis as whole integers, not integers + decimal points. See if that works for you.

  • Imported screen recordings are importing tinted red.

When i Import screen recordings into this version of imovie, they have a red tint, like really dark red.  this never hapened before the update.  thoughts?  I used quicktime to screencast

I had that problem until I googled it and found that if you export the QuickTime .mov file from QuickTime (I used the 1080p format), the red tint went away.
    Hope this helps.

  • Quicktime Pro X - Screen Recordings denied by FCP

Can anyone confirm that Apple has blocked the use of "screen recordings" made using QuickTime Player 10.0 in FCP 7.0? I've tried importing screen recordings using both the Medium Quality Setting (Codec: Photo - JPEG) and the High Quality setting (Codec: H.264) and have received the same message each time:
File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown.

Thanks Fraky. I think you're right. Here's what I found:
Just to see what happened, I went to the file "Get Info" panel and changed the default "Open with" program to FCP. When I then tried opening the file it gave me the message:
    "Unsupported Frame Rate.
Final Cut Pro does not support this frame rate or the way it is represented."
I took your advice and tried bringing the file into Compressor(3.5). Compressor recognized the file and allowed me to encode it to a different codec. I tried a number of different codecs, and they all imported into FCP just fine.
Does anyone know what the default frame rate of the "Screen Recorded" movies are that can be made with QuickTime Player 10.0? I find it a little odd that FCP wouldn't recognize the frame rate. Whatever the default frame rate of those "scrren recodings" are, it must be something unconventional as I know that FCP recognizes a wide range of frame rates.

  • No video on Quicktime screen recordings

I've attempted to make several Quicktime screen recordings and I am not seeing any video.  I see only a green screen with my mouse cursor moving around on it (as I moved it when recording).  I have a screen recording app called Screenflick that is doing the same thing.

I have the same issue. At first I was very much excited about this feature! But after several successful screenshots I again ended up with green screen instead of real (cropped) screenshot clip.. (MacBook Pro Retina, Mac OS 10.8.4).

  • I made screen recordings through quicktime on mac and 6 of my 13 video did not turn into .mov files. How do I get them onto iMovie?

i need to put my put my quick time videos (screen recordings) onto iMovie and for some reason its not letting me. they are not even .mov files. whta do i do? i need it for tomorrow!

Yes, exactly (in fact I had that page on the Help Viewer open while I did it just in case I had skipped a step). Plus some other ways (like converting the clips to other formats, etc)
But I have made the video by using QuickTime Pro, by stitching the clips together. It isn't anything like I want but I can move on now and contemplate other ways to make this work (unless you or somebody else comes up with something!).
    Thank you again.

  • Importing high quality screen recordings into final cut

Please can someone here help me. Nobody in the Apple stores in London, great as they normally are, was able to help me.
I am trying to make a high resolution / quality video of screen recordings of a website for promotional purposes. I am able to make screen recordings using Quicktime7 and Screen Flow and assumed I could just import them into FCE, edit where necessary and then export into Quick time but here the problems start
    1. Final Cut Express does not allow you to import screen recordings from Quicktime7. I was told the answer to this was to convert them into Mpeg 4 files using a free software called Streamclip. Fine. This works but by the time the files are in FCE, the quality is poor. By the time I have exported the video into quicktime so it can be viewed the quality is even lower. Result: Very low quality recordings
    2. Using screenflow I can import the files directly into FCE but again the quality is reduced by the time they get there and again by the time they are exported into quicktime. Result" Low quality recordings.
I have looked at using 100% quality every where where this option is available but to no avail.
Finally an apple expert said the only option I had was to import the screen recording direct from the computer to my video camera via the video in port but that I needed to buy two connectors, namely video into dvi and then dvi into mini display port. Sounds laborious. Is this my only option? Do I need to upgrade to FC Pro (out of the question due to budget)?
I'm under time pressure. Any help very much appreciated!
    Thanks
    Chris

    1. Whoever told you to convert to MPEG-4 is completely wrong and should not be working in an Apple store. FE only works in QuickTime using the Apple Intermediate Codec for HD material. It only works in specific screen resolutions used in video formats. 1920x1080, 1440x1080, 1280x720, and DV for standard definition.
    2. Full resolution media from ScreenFlow can only be edited in Final Cut Pro.
You can record directly to a a camera but you need a high quality scan converter. Just doing it off a computer screen will produce rubbish video.

  • I think that everyone should know that Quicktime 10 cannot make stereo screen recordings. Quicktime 7 cannot make screen recordings at all.

I did a bunch of research on this topic and hope to save someone else the headache.
I was trying to use QT 10 to make some video tutorials on Mixing (audio) which will rely on high-quatlity audio capture along with the screen recording. While using QT10 the recorded stereo audio was being collapsed to mono, which not only changed the stereo soundstage, but also made the levels a bit excessive. I figured that this must be a communication issue between my firewire audio interface and QT10. I called Apple support to see if someone there may have encountered such an issue and if they had a solution.
After the support technician did some research he told me that QT10 only does mono screen recordings, regardless of the input sources selected. After a bit more research the technician told me to buy Quicktime Pro 7 and I should have no problem with that. I asked him directly "so it records stereo sources?"
    He said it did.
Today I purchased Quicktime Pro 7.7.1. It doesn't make screen recordings at all. I guess stereo screen recordings are not a feature either (that's called sarcasm).Needless to say I was frustrated.
I guess the only solutions for this exist outside of Apple.
They were courteous and I felt that they wanted to solve my issue but I was given the wrong information and I wanted to pass that on the community.

I wouldn't judge. I've been to Arch for a week, you know? But as said, it's VERY close to it.
What I dislike after a week is makepkg not handling dependencies automatically (which would be overhead, so probably not appropriate).
Mikko777 wrote:Also theres KDEmod for modular kde, dunno if its for 64 bits tho.
Don't actually need that as said ... I see no real benefit of having that other than not beeing a KDE user or having Gentoos useflags.

  • Cant Capture Screen Recordings with QuickTime Player for making  App Previews

cant Capture Screen Recordings with QuickTime Player for making  App Previews
    went into that page:
    https://developer.apple.com/app-store/app-previews/imovie/Creating-App-Previews- with-iMovie.pdf
upgraded to quick time 7 pro
    got stuck here:
" 4. In the window that appears, select your iOS device as the Camera and Microphone input source".
the window appeared, no selection is possible

The instructions in the Developer page you link contemplates that you are using the QTX version instead of QT7 Pro:
    vs.
QT7 Pro does not allow selection of iOS devices as the Camera and Microphone
 input source.
QTX is the QT version included with Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard and later.  However, as explained in the Developer page you linked above, if your Mac is not already using it, you need to upgrade to the current (OS X 10.10 Yosemite) OS X Version to use iOS devices as the recording sources in QTX.

  • Screen-recordings exporting seetings fcp 7

    Hi,
I've tried to export some screen-recordings I've recorded in screenflow and then edited through fcp, but when i get the output, the screen-recordings are very blurry and flickering..
how do I get the best output?
ps: (there are normal video clips between the screen-recordings, so it's not only screen-recordings)
thank you so much in advance !

You need to edit in dimensions that FCP works with. So even though you captured the full screen in Screenflow, you need to crop to 1920x1080, or 1280x720.
And then export to FCP codecs. Or just edit in Screenflow. that's what I do.

  • Screen recordings

I have Quicktime Pro and am able to make screen recordings. However, these recordings are without sound. Is it possible to make screen recording with sound using Quicktime? Alternatively, is there any other software available which will enable me to do this?
Thanks is anticipation for any help and advice.
    Rob

QuickTime Player Pro does not have a screen recording feature.
QuickTime X (part of Snow Leopard) does. When you open a new Screen Recording window notice the tiny downward pointing arrow at the right. Click on it for audio options.
I use http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/ because it has many more features than those found in QuickTime X.

  • Screen recordings are frozen

Using 10.3 (727.4). Some of my screen recordings are frozen when I play them back. There is audio but no movement on the screen. I am taking excerpts from a video presention online. I play the vid, start the screen recording then stop the SR when I have what I want. Most of them work but some are frozen. Come to think of it there are time when I pause the video, then start the SR, then stop the SR. I don't know if that matters. I can't post a link because it's password protected. The file save as a .mp4 file.
    Thanks

I had that problem until I googled it and found that if you export the QuickTime .mov file from QuickTime (I used the 1080p format), the red tint went away.
