Reusing/storing Loaded Content in a Movie - Cache in Flash

Suppose you have a slideshow movie that loads content such as images or Flash movies itself and continually replaces content with new images or movies as a viewer browses through content. Is there a way to store images or movies that have been loaded so that if the same content is selected they do not have to downloaded again? Presumably once content has been unloaded or something has ben loaded into the same level the data is wiped from memory and has to be downloaded if it is displayed again. How could content be stored in Flash or does the content stored in the browser cache take care of this?

The rough page layout works fine, but the actual tv-content (twitch) or the actual message texts (ggroups) won't show up. Also, clicking on the prefernces wheel in ggroups will display a small, empty box instead of a drop down menu filled with stuff.
The pages all work properly in chromium.
Note that youtube and normal google search, freemail provider pages, news pages and basically all other pages i can think of work normally and 100%!
I'm using linux 64bit, firefox 22. This problem however, is not new, it happened with older ff versions too. I'm just tired of firing up chromium each time, so i decided to report it here to get a solution.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

TS3623 I paused my rented movie on Apple TV. Now I continuously get an "Error loading content" and it won't play. I've turned it off/on, reset, etc., no luck.

Four minutes into my movie, I paused it to answer the phone. Now I can't get it to come back on. I've held the center button on the remote to turn off the Apple TV, then turned it back on, my internet connection is fine, I've tried starting it over from the beginning. It just won't come back on. Meanwhile, since I started the movie, my 24-hour time-limit to watch it is ticking down.
This is annoying! Any possible solutions? I get "error loading content" a lot - more than reasonable. Usually with Netflix, but sometimes this happens with iTunes movies as well.

Safari (and other browsers) very slow loading "content rich" web pages

Hi,
I'm a very "light" user of my mac, using it basically for surfing the web, uploading pictures and music, etc... and recently any web page that has a lot of content (examples are nfl.com, nba.com, nhl.com, mlb.com, united.com, continental.com) takes a very long time to load (most other web pages load normally). Safari (and Firefox as well) gets to the web page in an instant, but then sits there trying to load content (mostly high res pictures and ads I suppose), which sometimes takes minutes or just never fully downloads the content. I'm connected to the internet via ethernet (high speed cable modem from Time Warner), and they've already come out and verified that everything on their end is fine. I've followed the instructions posted on some of the other similar posts (emptying cache, deleting cookies, disenabling add on's, reseting safari, logging in as another user, etc..), and this has not helped. Since this problem is persistent with both browsers, I'm wondering if this may be an OS issue as opposed to a browser issue. If someone can walk me through a solution (keep in mind that I'm a novice), that would be much appreciated.

Could be.
Since the problems exist with multiple browsers, login to another user account on your Mac. Try Safari there. If you see the same behavior with Safari there, then follow the instructions here. You will need your install disc. The startup disk may need repairing. Even if Safari is ok in another account, it's still a good idea to check the startup disk. That way you can rule that out.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
(In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first from the installer menu)
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your startup disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. Make sure there is always 15% free space.

How do I remove a the contents of a movie clip created using loadClip?

I have a Flash site that loads specific SWFs into a movie
clip called "content_mc" based on a button click. I do this using
the "loadClip" method. I then remove (I thought) the SWF from the
movie clip with "unloadClip" and replace it with a new SWF using
"loadClip." All seemed to be working fine, but now I see that
scripts from a SWF that I thought I unloaded are still running.
I'm sure this is due to my lack of understanding of what
"loadClip" and "unloadClip" are doing. And there certainly may be a
better way to do what I want to do... but such is life. What is the
method to delete a the contents of a movie completely from memory?
or is there a better way to do what I want to do?

Nope you understand more or less correctly. unloadClip takes
away the contents that loadClip placed. However there are certain
things that don't go away.
My guess is that you have some setIntervals. Those must be
cleared (clearInterval) before you do the unloadClip.
Or perhaps you have set up some listeners? Again those must
be removed.

The iCloud page on Apple website states that movies purchased in itumes are automatically transferred to the cloud. I can't find the movies unless I sync my devices via a cord. I am interested in purchasing Apple TV but want to make sure I will be able to access movies purchased.

Movies are not stored in icloud. They are on the cloud - yes, but what Apple means, is that you can redownload the movies via the iTunes Store, where all movies are stored (the itunes cloud).

I'm familiar with the typical syntax to load a piece of
external content into a movie clip... but is there a way to load an
external clip to somewhere off stage so you can use it later? For
instance - load a JPG so it becomes an asset with a linkage ID?

Load it into a movie clip just the same as you would with any
content. But,
set its visibility to false. Then, set its visibility to true
as you need
it.

Load content in another viewing space... Button..Viewer..Video..Panorama.. Carousel..Dreamw..Flash..

Dear Reader,
I made a site with a custom player to show video. I made my own buttons in Flash. On type showed while hovering over the played video and are used for controlling play/pause - button for homepage and two buttons for the next or previous gallery. The other type are underneath the playing video and let you pick thumbnails whose links were shown in the player window.
First I wanted to use a carousel (Lee Brimelow) for the second type of buttons, but I couldn't integrate these with the rest of the player code (my flash-code knowledge is rather limited).
Later on I wanted to show a panorama wich I only got to work with the Away3D-method. In this case I couldn't integrate it with any other code, so I used Dreamweaver to let a viewer choose thumbnails. One can navigate in the viewer window by dragging in the window, so I left out the other navigation buttons within the player window, mentionned earlier.
Now I am thinking of this concept:
- Button(s) for Homepage and (Next/Previous) gallery;
- Viewer window, with
- timeslider and Play/Pause button integrated in case of a video or slideshow;
- dragging in case of a Panoramic view;
- Carousel for picking a subject that will be shown in the Viewer window.
Question:
- Can I combine these 3 types of the concept as Flash-movies and buttons/carousel in Dreamweaver and still have the carousel control the viewer window?
or:
- Should I do all in Flash and make a personal Flashplayer (like I did before) and study more Flash?
What tutorials could I take a look at? (For instance I found a lot of sites about how to make a carousel. I don't know how to make it control a viewer window (to make it load content in another window or space.)

Just wanted to clarify a few things to try and eliminate what could be causing the problem.
1. You are using rtmps protocol. Do you have SSL certificate configured and port 443 enabled?
2. When you tried playback via the hosted OSMF player was it via rtmps?
3. The standard way the request url is protocol://server-domain-or-IP/fms-app-name/[fms-app-instance-name/][codec-prefix:]file-pa th[filename-extension]. Could you try with that?
I tried to reproduce your issue with simple rtmp prtocol and here are my observations/suggestions :
1.When I first entered the source url I got the error you mentioned : "The video player is in the connection error state." However, when I publish the same .fla again it works fine.
2. When you are placing the on a computer on the same network and running the html in the browser, it might not have permission to access the network. You will generally get a pop-up saying "Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe option". In any case, in your Flash player settings manager you can go to the Advanced tab and add the location of the folder containing the swf as a Trusted location and then try to reload the page again. I get the "status bar spin" when the folder did not have permissions.
3. Also, when you try playback via Share Point can you go back to FMS and check if a connection request has actually come to the server. You can check under the access logs in root_install/logs or the application logs under root_install/logs/_defaultVHost_/vod/

"error occurred while loading content" ?

Curious if anyone is having the same problems with their Apple TV.
It first started when we tried to rent episodes from Apple. We'd purchase the episode, it would be ready for veiwing, and after about 5 mintutes the "error occured while loading content". We'd go over to netflix and I could watch old episodes of various tv shows without a problem. Downloading a movie rental in HD would also take up to 5 or 10 minutes.
I checked our wireless modem - everything was working fine.
I reset the network settings on the Apple TV and checked that it was up to date. Also reset all the username/password stuff.
That did the trick for about a week and now we're having the same problem.
Thoughts anyone?

I'm somewhat convinced that errors on the network (or for that matter over HDMI) can cause corruption of the Apple TV. In such cases restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds, usually does enough to reset things.

Purchased Content -- Error Loading Content Persists

I've been recieving the "Error Loading Content" message even after Restarting and Restoring my 3rd Gen Apple TV.
This only happens with purchased iTunes content -- movies, shows -- and not Netflix content, etc.
Anything I can try?

There are two location redirects send by the server on that request and Firefox doesn't allow that.

If you leave out the &goto=newpost then only one redirect is send and it works.<br />
If you click the above link that has a trailing ')' then that also makes the server send only one redirect because that link is no longer valid.

Load Content into a javascript Variable

Hello guys. I very new to spry and I need some help.
How can I load content (text) from a html page(actually I
want to get a result from a dynamic php script) into a javascript
variable?
I saw the fragments example in wich spry loads some html
fragment into a div, etc... but I need the result text to be stored
in a variable so I can test the result before update the div.

I think this function updateContent shoud have a parameter to
tell if we want the content to be loaded inside a container or a
variable. It would be very helpful to integrate php/mysql
validation scripts to forms. I wanted to test if a username was
already in the database when the user choose the username in the
form, so I made a custom function and aplied it to the textbox
validation widget. Its working great, but it would be better if I
didnt have to create invisible divs to receive the response from
the php script I made.

Netflix cannot load content

My apple TV cannot load content from netflix (worked fine before last night and have no updated software or changed settings). Other web services like youtube work fine and I can stream Netflix from my iPad. Anyone else having this problem with their apple TV?

I didn't ask if you changed ISP's, but about the DNS settings. You also didn't say whether you were on wifi or ethernet? Have you checked with Netflix?
Verify DNS and network settings
If you are experiencing abnormal wait times when attempting to rent iTunes Movies and TV shows on your Apple TV, it could be due to changes made to your network settings (such as the DNS address on your Apple TV and/or router or base station). You should use the default DNS entry supplied by your ISP, on both your Apple TV and router. Changing the DNS entry may result in a longer time before playback begins. Also, you should configure your Apple TV to use DHCP for the network setup, unless you have a custom network with specifically-assigned IP addresses.
To configure your Apple TV to use DHCP, from the main menu, go to Settings > General > Network > Configure TCP/IP. In the Network Setup page, select the "Using DHCP" option.
Once you've confirmed that your Apple TV and router or base station are using DHCP without a custom DNS entry, power-cycle your Apple TV, router or base station and broadband Internet modem.

Loading Content Error

I connected to Homesharing and can rent a movie. But when I try to play the movie, I get a Loading Content Error. Help!

You might try unplugging the Apple TV and restarting it along with your router.
Loading errors I understand can happen when the download speed is extremely slow, you might also try changing wifi channels to avoid possible interference.

If I need to load external swf into the main swf file, I need
to Loader with appropriate URLRequest for this purpose.
After loaded, you can listen to the complete event and
addChild the loader.content to the main swf.
Because I have a stop on the loaded swf first frame, I need
to start the swf with a button. Some solutions on the net pointed
that to make this happened, you need to cast the loader.content to
MovieClip and have to through a tricky way to accomplish it like

clip.gotoAndPlay(4);
I tried this method and still got Type Coercion failed
::cannot convert flash.display to MovieClip

Thanks WL, you are very close. I have a flash8 movie (purely
animation)
and I actually opened it in CS3 and saved as CS3. after
publishing that's the movie I am tring to load.
I recreate the whole animation in CS3 and everything start to
run as supposed to. By trace the loader.content I find out one is
[object AVM1Movie] for sudo as2 movie and [object MainTimeline] for
the pure as3 movie. Thanks again.

Error on update of document stored in content server

Error on update of document stored in content server
On a regular basis (but not reproducible) we find that after updating a document, it is deleted from content server (or at least it cannot be retrieved). These problems have only been experienced since we switched to using content server as our storage repository, as opposed to R/3.
We create and maintain documents through a bespoke transaction, which calls standard SAP functions BDS_BUSINESSDOCUMENT_CREA_TAB and cl_bds_document_set=>update_with_table.
Whilst the errored documents are listed in the BDS via transaction OAOR (business document navigator), an error is received when you try to display it (in our case an MS-Word error indicating file/pathname invalid).
We are satisfied that file/pathname are valid and find that this occurs occasionally when a document has been updated. It appears that the document has been deleted.
This bespoke transaction has been running successfully for almost two years, and these problems have only been experienced after switching to content server as a storage repository (as opposed to R3 previously). Has anyone else experienced these problems?
We are running :

SAPDB version 7.3.0.54

To check the connectivity between your content server and Workstation and SAP Server.
Pls goto the command prompt of your workstation
give the command like this example.
C:\>Ping 117.123.45.201
you will get the reply from the server. here 117.123.45.201 is your content server IP.
If you are getting the reply then it means that your contentserver and workstation are connected propely.
Like that pls check the connectivity between your systems.
Pls check the hosts file of your systems also.
If the hosts file entry is not maintained, you can check-out file from content server but you cannot check-in the original.
Pls let me know what kind of error Message you are getting?
From where you are trying to check-in the Original? From the DIR screen or from CAD Desktop screen?
