Reveal in explorer JS?

Is it possible to open the current document in windows explorer, using javascript?
Like "Reveal in Explorer" function that is already in photoshop. I tried using the ScriptListener, but nothing about that was written in the txt file... I also can't find anything about it in the documentacions...

Well, it's simple to open the folder it's in, using Folder(activeDocument.path).execute();
But I don't know about selecting the specific file in the folder.

  • Bridge CS5 freezes when using 'reveal in explorer'

Bridge CS5 freezes when you select a file and try to "reveal in explorer". The command does work, it does reveal the file in explorer but then the bridge window turns white and freezes. It usually doesn't happen in the first time you click 'reveal in explorer', but if you do it enough (3x or more) bridge will freeze eventually.
I'm going back to Bridge CS4.
*I'm using Bridge CS5 on windows 7 Professional 64 bit

This sounds like a memory thing.  Check the spare space on the HD (it should never be more than 75% full), defrag the harddrive,  clean out your trash bin, check to see if you paging file is installed, and your RAM is working properly.

  • Useful Feature Removed? Font: Reveal in Explorer

ID CS4 on Windows 7: The button "Reveal in Explorer" in the Find Font dialog no longer reveals the font in Explorer ... Instead it appears to open the home base of the logged-in user, which is a nice guess, but no cigar.
It only fails on system installed fonts -- the ones in the InDesign app folder and in Common Files/Adobe/Fonts are revealed as they used to.
Can anyone confirm this? Is anyone willing to bet against it turning out to be a Windows 7 fault?

Bob's right on, it seems to be broken within CS3 running Vista, opens to my User\Documents folder.

  • Audio is blank in Premiere, but when when using "Reveal in Explorer" the Audio is there?

The clips that are in the sequence have blank audio tracks (These sequences were from an imported project, and the audio worked fine there) Even when I load the clips from the project window into the source monitor, they don't have audio (And they are not showing as Offline) but when I use "Reveal in Explorer" to locate the original clip, the audio is on the original clip, so what gives, and how can I get Premiere to "locate" the audio?
I tried Clean the Media Cache Database, but that did not work...
...and it's not all the audio clips, just some of them...
    Thanks all!

    Thanks Harm...
Reveal in Explorer (or Finder for Mac) comes up when you right click on the item in the Project Window.
I didn't want to have to convert all these files to .wav if I didn't have to. I am wondering what the issue might be so I don't have to add that to my workflow (especially in the future, though I'll probably end up doing it, I would still like to find the problem)
This project comes from an older version of Premiere I had installed, and now I have CS5... Why would it stop recognizing .aif files?
    Thanks,

  • How do I click once on Bookmarks (or elsewhere on Toolbar) to view my Favourites as in Internet Explorer?

In Internet Explorer I can view Favourites by clicking once on Favourites. I have transferred all Favourites to Bookmarks. How can I click the Toolbar once to reveal Internet Explorer favourites as listed in Bookmarks please?

If you don't already see the Bookmarks menu, then perhaps your menu bar is not being displayed. See [[Menu bar is missing]]

  • How to "copy" in bridge and "Paste" in win explorer ?

really , how can i do this ?
becasue when i copy a file in bridge and then in the win explorer the Paste option is grayed.

You can't copy what is essentially a preview in Bridge to the Windows clipboard.
Right-click > Reveal in Explorer and do it from there.

  • Is there a way to display the size of a folder or group of folders in Bridge?

In windows it is easy to click on any folder and see the size of it's contents, whether it is a single folder or contains subfolders.  This doesn't seem possible as far as I can see in Bridge.  The only way I can see to see the size of a folder is to select all files in the folder and then it will display the size. Seems quite a clunky way or working and is frustrating when you want to see the size of a folder containing sub folders.  Strange for a program which is supposed to make managing files easier.  However, I'm hoping that there is a way to do this and I've not discovered it yet.
If anyone knows of a way to click on any folder and display it's contents (with or without subfolders) without having to select all files, I would greatly appreciate them sharing it.
    Many thanks,
    Julie

In the Folders Tab, right click on  folder  then click Reveal in Explorer. This will open an Explorer window with the folder selected.  In Explorer you can right click > Properties or navigate to whatever you want to measure.

  • Can't see some photos in Organizer - Photoshop 9

In Organizer, I am using the "Folder Location" display view. I imported some photos from a folder by doing the following: I right clicked on the folder from which I wanted to import the photos and then left clicked on "Import to Organizer." When the process was done, I then clicked on "Show All." With that folder highlighted, only the thumbnails of some of the photo files from that folder appear (that folder highlighted) on the Orgnaizer screen. Other thumbanils of photos in that folder do not appear on the screen. I can verify this by right clicking on the folder in question and then left clicking on "Reveal in Explorer" which shows all the photo files in the folder in question. Also, no "Keyword Tags" are checked. The photos that do not appear from the folder in question are ones that have copies in other folders.
    1) What could be causing this problem of some photos in a folder not appearing in the Organizer screen using the "Folder Location" display view and that folder being highlighted?
    2) How can I be sure that all photos from a given folder appear in Organizer when I use the "Folder Location" display view in Organizer?
    Thanks.

on Windows 7, CS6 all products, but especially need help with ID.  Fonts that are showing in other applications are not showing in ID.

The ID Program folder will be relevant to your OS...
I took a shot and right clicked on my Scripts Samples, choose reveal in Explorer and opened up the ID Program folder.
As shown, there is a Fonts folder.
    Drag/Copy/Paste fonts to this folder.

  • How can I determine the full path and filename of the currently opened .ai file?

In Photoshop, right clicking the file name of the opened file in progress shows an option "Reveal in Explorer" so I know exacly where the file was opened from.
In Lightroom, it is displayed in the metadata.
New to illustrator, I have looked at loads of menu options get cannot see how to find this information.
Would be grateful for some help.

+1 for what Larry said if you are on OS X. You can then scroll through and select any of the listed items and when clicked upon it will take you to that folder/location.
Not that it would offer ease of use or a better method, but you could also use a simple script to retrieve this info as another alternative method:
    Example Structure:
    alert("File Path/Location:\n" + File.decode(app.activeDocument.fullName));
    Results the Below Alert:
    alert("File Path/Location:\n" + File.decode(app.activeDocument.fullName).split('/').join('\n/ '));
    Results the Below Alert:
But again, not that this approach would offer ease of use or a better method, just another alternative method (It works in my quick tests).

  • How can I get Elements 11 Organiser to sort by File Name as in Elements 7

I have just acquired Elements 11 to replace Elements 7
All my main photos (thousands) are in 1 file on my computer.
My individual file names are dates - eg "1960-09Sept Venice St Marks Square.." etc, so File Names bring my thousands of images up in date order.
I have tagged them in  Elements 11  as  appropriate with 1 or more Tags per photo.
In Elements 7 there is an Option "Display" and one of the options is "Folder Location" i.e file name order, which is what I want.
I cannot find this option in Elements 11 - all I have found is an option to sort by just "new" or "old" i.e file date order. Fine for photgraphs where the file date is the same as the photo but a scan done today may be of an image in 1960 which is where I wanted it sorted!
I know you can amend the file date in Elements 11 for each image but I have hundreds of scans to redate!
I also know you can bring the images up in Elements 11 of my whole file by using "Reveal in Explorer" which brings them up in file name/date order for me but not when I click on the Elements 11 Tags which reverts to File Date.
Is there anyway I can get the Tags to sort by File Name/Location in Elements 11 as in Elements 7?
    Tony

Many thanks for your previous message. Very useful.
In fact in preparing to answer your question, I find that maybe my problem is not as bad as I thought!
Yes, I have a lot of photos but the majority in digital form are photos (2,500) since the year 2000 which will be sorted by Elements according to the photo/file date.
I have 6,000 or so prints/slides going back mostly to the 1930s but quite a few back as far as the late 1800s. I am scanning a lot of these into digital form but I have only scanned about 500 or so so far and it is only these that are causing a problem. (I am unlikely to scan all 6,000!). These range from the 1880s to 2000. However, as I only started taking digital photos in 2000, if I follow your suggestion, I could give all my scans the same file date (a date prior to 2000) and if I understand correctly what you say, they will then all be sorted in the alpha/numeric order I want.
    Have I got this right?.
I suppose, as an alternative, It would not be a real problem to insert a file date for the 500 or so I have scanned and I would then just need to enter a file date for any future scans.
As you indicate, there are other options but one of the 2 options above seem at present to be my best bet.
Thank you very much for your suggestions - maybe I can now more or less get what I want without too much effort but I would still prefer Adobe to add a File Location Option as before!

  • How do I unlock Network and other locations that now show padlocks in Bridge CS5?

In the middle of using Bridge on my laptop with WIN8, I was suddenly confronted with locks on the Network, Homegroup, User, Documents, Videos, and Pictures, and more (but not all). The locks were not there prior to today. I have used this Bridge program a lot on my Desktop without ever encountering this problem. I tried some suggestions from the Forum-- such as go to the Bridge Folder Tree; rt clk and Reveal in explorer, but I can't find a path to a box marked "lock" to untick.
Also, when I closed out of Bridge and re-opened, nearly all the documents that I placed in Collections Folders are now gone. Are these problems connected?

The Network, Homegroup and various libraries are locked in Bridge; see screen shots. Could you be a little more specific about which program to use to unlock these; the right click over these in Bridge does not reveal the options you mentioned.

  • Remove file that opens with photoshop cs6

Every time I start up Photoshop CS6 (Cloud), an old file opens but it has a totally different name than the file itself does and is a .psb file. I cannot right click on it, I have tried searching for it in my computer to delete the file, it doesn't exist anywhere. How can I keep this strange file from opening upon startup and get rid of it once and for all?

Chances are that's the recovery file from a photoshop crash.
If you you right click on the document tab, you should be able to get to the file if you click on Reveal in Explorer or Reveal in Finder.

  • Getting pissed.  My jpeg is not showing up for me to post on Twitter or facebook or other programs!

What the freak is going on?  Why am I having issues finding my jpeg to post on twitter, facebook or pull up into another program?  It only shows up in my photoshop program.
If the cloud service makes my jpegs only available for photoshop.  Then I will be canceling this nonsense.

Open that photo in Photoshop again. Right-click on the file's tab and choose "reveal in Explorer."
That should tell you where the file really is.
Once you know, you should be able to upload it navigating to that directory.
If you have the CC Desk app, just open it, sign in, and under the Files tab, click Open Folder.
Your Explorer window should show the file if it was saved or moved there, and there should be a cloud symbol under the Favorites pane in your Explorer window.  If for example, you want to upload a file to Twitter, the Open dialog should have the cloud directory.

  • Consolidate linked files in multitrack?

Is there an easy way to consolidate all of the linked files referenced in a multitrack document into a single folder, something like the "package" function in inDesign?

In previous versions of Audition, yes, but not yet in this version.
I know you're probably trying to avoid this sort of work, but here's how I'd do it in this version of Audition.
With only one Session Open, choose File > Close Unused Media (this will close any media files that aren't referenced by that session)
For each of the files in the files panel
right-click and choose "Reveal in Explorer" aka "Reveal in Finder" (Win vs Mac), this command should also be in the File menu
copy or move the desired file into the new folder of your choice
    Close all files in Audition
Copy or Move the Session file to the folder used above
Reopen the session in the new location
    Save the session.
Note: The SESX (session) file stores both absolute paths to your files as well as relative paths for the referenced media files.   I can't remember off the top of my head which one it looks for first, but it will use one or the other as a fallback.   If it can't find the files in either of those locations (you can just open the SESX file in a text or XML editor to see where it is looking) it will look in the folder that the SESX is in as a fallback to those.   That is the reason why I was suggesting resaving in Step 6.   You can also see where Audition found the files by looking in the Files Panel in Audition after you've opened the session.   Just scroll the panel all the way to the right and you'll see the file paths.
If you don't need to save effects and stuff like that, there's an alternative, but sketchy way to archive stuff and that would be to export the session as an OMF file with encapsulated media.   This will store the actual audio data into one big file.   However, I saw sketchy because there's a lot of caveats to that method (too numerous to list here).   But it would work for simple sessions.
For the purposes of feature development in Audition, what do you like about the Package workflow in InDesign; how would you expect it to work in Audition?
