"reveal in finder" never works
Many tools (e.g. Dock) provide a "reveal in finder" command. However, it only works if the enclosing folder is already open. Otherwise it only opens that folder. Thus you have to do "reveal in finder" twice.
It's a little thing but irritating!

I'm not quite sure I understand your issue.
Here is how the Show In Finder feature, is supposed to function.
Click and hold, or Control click, on any item in the Dock.
Select Show In Finder.
The folder that contains the item will open.
The item will be highlighted, and in view.
If you wish to view the location of an applications, the Applications folder will open.
If you wish to view the location of a utility, the Utilities folder will open.
If you wish to view the location of folders, you have placed in the Dock, the folder where they are stored will be displayed.
Is this not how it functions for you?

Hi and thanks for reading. This isn't a big issue but I couldn't find any info anywhere on this. I noticed in 5.5 when I click on a clip and try to get it to reveal in Finder nothing happens...I believe it did work when I first installed it but I can't be sure at this point. However the reveal in Bridge works and finds the file. I thought things would fix itself when I did a clean install of Mountain Lion and then installed CS6 but the issue is still there. I find it more convienent to see it in Finder then Bridge especially having to wait for Bridge to open. Does anyone have any ideas why reveal in Finder is not working for me? If it matter I did some rearranging of the Adobe apps...I have the Production Suite...I moved them all from the Applications folder to an Adobe sub folder in the Apps folder. I don't know why Adobe spreads them all out like that. Thanks for any help on this.
There is a major bug in OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 which prevents "Reveal in Finder" (Open in Finder) from working in a variety of applications. The workaround: when it happens run the following in Terminal:
sudo killall -KILL appleeventsd
or, alternatively, quit appleeventsd in Activity Monitor.
Perhaps your issue is related to this. -

Using iMac 27" 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7.
Since I have upgrade to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and iPhoto 9.4.1 and 9.4.2, using menu «Reveal in Finder» (original or modified photo) doesn't work anymore.
This menu was working fine beforehand.
Could it be related with the last upgraded version of Java (version 7, upgrade 9) ?
Thanks for your advices.Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

I have the same issue. I restored an iPhone 4 for my 16 year old niece. Only stipulation was she use Find My Friends. While I was getting the apps for the phone I was unable to download one of the most important features. It would be great if they allowed 2 versions or incorporated support for iOS 7.1.2. I'm sure I'm not the only one who decided to give up the $200 trade in offers to keep a perfectly good phone (looks new still from case use) in the family.

What type of a Creative Cloud membership do you have?
You can also download the Creative Suite 6 installation files from Download CS6 products. Installing any of the applications or suites which include Bridge CS6 should allow Bridge CS6 to install. -
In September my husband and I were planning a cross country move and we thought that having a Jet Pack to go on line with while we were traveling would be a good idea. When we ordered it we told the representative that we did not need it until the 1st of Oct. as that was when we would be leaving. It arrived on our door on Sept 9th with the instructions to be sure and activate it within 2 weeks or we would lose the line. On the 19th we called in the activation and everything appeared fine. We hit the road on the 1st and Nothing, Na-Da, Zip, Zilch .... The equipment never worked from the get go! We called Verizon from the road on the 4th of Oct. to find out what was going on and the representative told us that the problem was with the computer on Verizon's end. We shut the equipment off for the rest of our trip and called for a refund on the 13th of Oct. We spoke to a representative named Juan, who again confirmed that it was Verizon's computer that had been the problem, and we were assured that all fee's associated with the Jet Pack would be waived as the equipment never worked in the 1st place. He told us all we needed to do was return the broken equipment and that he would send us a return label. We received the return label and sent the equipment back on the 22nd of Oct. On our next bill no credits of any kind had been applied? We promptly picked up the phone and called Verizon again, on Oct 31st, to find out what was going on? This time we spoke to Lou Ann. After about an hour and a half she finally managed to remove the fee's, or so we thought, and we hung up satisfied. On 11/5 our Nov. bill arrived again with no credits of any kind. We thought maybe the billing cycle hadn't had time to catch up with our most recent conversation so we called just to verify. This time we spoke to Moncheria. She did not understand what had happened and had to reenter the same refund that Lou Ann had earlier. Again another hour and a half on the phone. Today,11/28, we received our most recent bill and again no credits of any kind??? We picked up the phone and called again. This time we explained to Christian, (the above story), and she put us on the phone with her supervisor Carson. Carson proceeded to tell us that ALL of the previous representatives we had spoken to were wrong and that since we had not returned the equipment within 14 days of receiving it that we were beyond the limits of the refund policy, (which means we would have had to return it before we left on our trip), and the best she could do was offer us coupons for the future to offset THEIR mistake! No thank you I will keep my cash in my pocket!

Network Extender has never worked
We received a network extender from Verizon due to the lack of coverage in the area we live - too far from a tower.
I have tried every weekend to get this thing going and I always get a solid blue power light, solid blue wan light a SLOW BLINKING RED SYSTEM LIGHT and a solid magenta GPS light.
I tried calling Verizon for support but the tech rep didn't know what to do and was trying to read through the manual, I think and the call dropped after about an hour (back to the lack of coverage issue). I was so tired of not getting anywhere that I just let it go for the evening.
Bottom line is - this thing has never worked. All I can find is that a slow red blinking light is there is an abnormal condition.
Is there any further troubleshooting I can do or do I just need to see if Verizon can send me another one?Update - now I have a solid red GPS light & the slow blinking red SYS light. Will let it sit for an hour (as the sticker on the side suggests) and see if there's any difference

I spent hours on the phone to apple support when I bought the apple tv 6 months ago and it never worked unless plugged into my modem in the office directly. It seems to be something to do with the wireless network.... however, everything else on our 4 computers works well wirelessly. We never saw one film on this device and gave up. My laptop downloads films in itunes easily.... but not on the apple tv box. I should add it does play u-tube and previews..
Is this something to do with being in Australia and having little support for our wireless protocols here ?

After 6 months still unused, I have just updated ( 2 updates since my last attempt to watch a film), and guess what... the apple TV does not work. I choose film and go through to the final stage where it says that it can not find my account / password ! It asks me to go to iforgot.apple etc... however, I have not forgotten my password... it just doesn't work.
Extremely frustrating as we'd really like to watch a film tonight and again are left to watch rubbish tv...
We expect something that is so simple ( just streams video) to work easily but it seems troubleshooting and alot of time investigating is required to get this little sucker to work. Have I got preferences set somewhere in Apple land that is stopping films to download?
Not happy.I've had similar issues in the UK with my ATV. I am able to stream photos and music from any of the other devices around the house, via wi-fi to it, but movies have been hit and miss. We have had 3 that have stopped during playback, telling us it will be another 1 1/2 hrs before it has loaded. We have ended up trying the following:
Resetting the ATV
Restoring it to factory settings
Trying different wi-fi channels
Using Ethernet (it's about a foot away)
Downloading movies way in advance of watching them
Our wi-fi signal is full strength with an average rate of 9.8MB and I don't have issues with drop-outs or impaired performance on any other device as far as I know. I've had to resume movies by renting them again on our Virgin Media service and get refunds from the iTunes store...
It's been really frustrating, but speaking to experts in my local Apple store and finally, Applecare, it appears that I may have a rogue unit. I'm sending it back for them to check as it is still under warranty.

Finder not working Mac OS X 10.6.3
I am running a macbook pro which i start up with a flash drive. It has Mac OS X 10.6.3.
But, when I try to open a folder or finder window, the Finder stops working and I get the spinning pinwheel. After it stops, I can relaunch it with the force quit window, but the same problem persists. It is a pretty old laptop, somewhere around 2006 I think, but I never had problems with Finder when I started up from the hard drive.
If there is a known solution for this I would very much appreciate it.

(PS I tried verifying the disk and permissions. There were lots of permissions to repair, but I did it, and I'm still having the finder problem.)Flash drives are extremely tempramental for booting. Any other USB devices will slow them down. Also most are not preformatted for Mac booting:

The webcam is a built-in USB device, so it may have something to do with it.
You are better off getting a Firewire hard drive. Firewire 400 to 800 cables exist if needed. -
I bought my iSight last August only to find that it never works once I am outside of the actual Apple Store. I have been to two different stores to try and figure out the problem and both times they have made it work, but as soon as I get home it gives me either the "can't get video from camera error" or "so and so failed to respond." I have all my updates for quicktime and iChatAV, at home I have high speed wireless internet, and at school Comcast plugged into my computer. What gives? I don't feel like it should be this difficult but I'm becoming more and more frustrated. Help!

It says Error 21 is a last stage failure in the connection process and relates to bandwidth.
Often this is caused by a secondary firewall such as QoS (Quality of Service), DoS (Denial of Service protection or a SPI firewall (Stateful Packet Inspection) that can limit the amount of data that comes to your computer.
These additional features are designed to protect a web server from being attacked. Some have settings that can be adjusted others have to be turned Off.

20% off never works at Register.
So I am a member of gamers unlocked and my 20% discount almost never works at the register and I have to explain to a manager and some times evne PROVE that I am a member so they can do a override for me. Its a huge hassle every time I buy a game, why is this? If I buy online and order into the store I can get my 20% no problem.

Photos just imported are modified (Reveal in Finder) (9.2.2)
Hi, i'm a french iPhoto user, I found a problem since the 9.2.2 update.
When importing photo from any camera (iPhone 4S, Sony A700 or Canon 600D) in iPhoto, the option "Reveal in Finder" shows me "Modified" or "Original" but photos are just imported and I didn't apply any modifications.
If I choose "original", it reveals the photo (2,3 MB) in my original folder (in my personnal pictures folder for example).
But if I choose "modified", it reveals in the iPhoto library/Previews/2012/03/etc... but the photo is exactly the same, it is not a preview, the size is the same (2,5 MB).
In iPhoto preferences, I unticked the "Copy elements imported in Library" because I don't want this. Why do I have photos duplicated and shown as "modified" ??
I don't understand this problem because it works fine when importing older photos.
Can you help me please, do you have this kind of problem ??Are the photos in the portrait orientation? If so when imported the camera adds a rotation tag to the file and iPhoto reads it and makes an edited version that is rotated so it can be viewed properly. I'm guessing that's what's happening to your photos.
You can avoid that by turning off the auto rotation feature in the camera (except iPhones), uploading to a folder on the Desktop and rotate those photos that need rotation with a 3rd party editor like Xee which can do lossless rotation. Then import into iPhoto and there will be no modified photos.

Photoshop Elements 12 installed on my PC has never worked.
My Photoshop Elements 12, which I installed as an upgrade to Photoshop Elements 11 on my PC running under Windows 8.1 has never worked. In cannot find a catalog. My Elements 11 worked fine under Windows 7 and still works fine after I upgraded to Windows 8.1. I have spent hours on the phone with Adobe techs and have had my local PC professionals examine the PC. They both concluded it is a bug in Windows 8 but if so I do not know to proceed. Help would be most appreciated.
