Revel Private Albums create duplicate photos in Elements 12

The problem is: some photos are duplicated in Photoshop Elements 12. The duplicates appear after sharing a 'Private Web Album' to Adobe Revel. The Private Web Album works correctly: In Photoshop Elements, it is listed as a 'Mobile Album.' Online, on Adobe Revel, the album is created and the photos are available.
After a while, the same photos are copied back to the computer's hard drive, and added to the Elements catalog. The original photo remains in the correct location (C:\Users\John\Pictures\...) The new duplicate photo is added to the C:\Adobe Revel\... folder.

Since you are using the same Adobe ID for both services, duplication is happening. Please try this-
create a mobile album in left pane, add some files that you want to share, click on the Share icon present infront of album name in Mobile Albums panel, and share.

Photos does not hide photos in albums at all. Photos can only be hidden from Moments, Collections, Years.
If you want private albums, move the photos in questions to a different Photos Library, that you keep hidden.

ITunes syncs new photo albums with duplicate photos

I have Windows 7 and have an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.
I have been trying to sync photos into an album on my phone. After syncing I find duplicate photos in the album. Only one or two photos have not been duplicated. Also, I can also no longer select "Selected Folders" in iTunes.
The folder on my PC does not have any duplicate photos in it.
Is there any way to fix this?

I have a similar problem. The folder in my computer has 101 pictures, and 101 pictures show up on my iPhone 4S. The problem is that only about half the pictures transfer and those get duplicated on the phone. I've tried rearranging the pictures on my computer and repeatedly synching.

IPhoto-iPhone sync creates duplicate photos

Every time I sync my iphone with iPhoto, it duplicates photos. It's not photos that were taken with the iphone, but photos that I have imported from other sources, such as wallpaper images. Every week or so I go through and delete hundreds of duplicates. It does this even when specify NOT to import duplicates. Is there any way to stop this behavior?

Try deleting the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and delete it ("your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist) launch iPhoto and reset any user preferences you have changed and if you have moved the location of the iPhoto library repoint to it

How to remove duplicate photos with Elements and Revel?

While on vacation this year, I uploaded pictures from my camera to my iPad to Revel. When I got home, I copied all of the pictures from my camera to my harddrive on my laptop and imported them into Elements 12. On my laptop I store photos in subdirectories like this: \Lisa\albums\Pictures201509. I found duplicates of most of my photos in \Users\Owner\My Pictures\Adobe\Revel\My Catalog Old. I would like to clean these up so I only have once copy of each photo on my harddrive.
I have 3 questions:
Why did this happen?
How can I clean this up and not complete mess up my Elements and Revel catalogs?
How can I prevent this in the future?

The folks at www.overmacs.com/photosweeper told me that they are upgrading their product so it will work with Apple Photos. It works now with iPhoto and Aperture. It has many adjustments to detect same name files, and even same or similar content images. Monitor their website for a future release. There is a small fee for the pro version, which is well worth the price.

Will Lightroom find and include/manage albums created previously with Photoshop Elements 11

I have been using PE 11. I had to "rebuild" my computer after a hacking attack and in the process I lost my PE 11 program but of course still have all the photos and albums which were filed and processed by that program. My question is, will Lightroom be able to recognise and include
those images? Will it be a seamless transition?

You don't have the program any more? You should be able to download it at no charge from Adobe. But the important question is: do you have the PSE 11 catalog file? I think you will need both for the command File->Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalog to work. It's not sufficient that you have the photos, you need to install PSE 11 and also have the PSE catalog file.

Deleting some photos in album; unwanted duplicate photos appear

I am a new Aperture 3 user. I imported photos from iphoto, and some appeared as dupliocates. I edited one of the copies, and then tried to delete the unwanted duplicate from the album, and I am not able to do so. Help!!

I've been hunting around for the "missing" photos and I looked in the iphoto library folder on my hard drive and found a folder called albumdata.xml. Inside were all of the albums and lists of numbers that obviously correspond to photos, but which don't have obvious correlations. Does anyone know how to find out how iphoto numbers the photos in my library so I can quickly find these photos and put them back in my book? I have over 5000 photos, and chose 200 of them for the book. I could go back through all 5000, but I'd rather start from where I left off, or at least use the data that is stored for the book, even if these photos aren't showin gin the "unplaced photos" area. I just want to understand the workflow you follow to copy the files onto your machine and how do you import into Organizer? Ideally if you download and import through Adobe Photo Downloader, duplicate problem should not exist. Even it exists, visual similarity may help you removing duplicates.
Share your detailed workflow for better understanding.

i bought this MBP late last year and import iPhoto Library from old MBP. Faces feature has created many thousands small photos capturing just faces of people in the photos.
It also created lots of duplicated photos.
How to delete these photos in batch?

Sorry for the delay. I have tried copy the iPhoto Library from the old MB via the external HDD as following screenshot.
However, when i plug this exrternal HDD to the new MBP. it turned out to bew the folder as photo attached below. I am not sure if this is because they use different version or not (but i guess not).

Duplicate photos created by Elements

I've run into the problem of Elemenst creating duplicate photos -- has anyone else seen this. Here's how it happened: I took some new photos and plugged in my camera. I have the option set in "Preferences" to "Copy New Files Only". However, when Elements proceeded to do its stuff..... instead of saying "I found 15 new photos" it proceeded to reload (as new) everything on the camera card. Now, when I look in the "shot date" directories, I have duplicates of all photos -- such as, DSC_0054 and DSC_0054-1; DCS_0055 and DSC_0055-1 etc etc etc... so now I have 1000 photos in my catalog whereas I only have 500 untique photos on my camera card. This is not the first time I've seen this behavior, but this time I'm positive that the duplicates didn't result from something I did ..... I saw Elements re-load those 500 pictures. Is this a bug? Is there anyway I can prevent it from happening again....

I have the option set in "Preferences" to "Copy New Files Only". However, when Elements proceeded to do its stuff.....
Is your problem resolved?
When you re-imported the pics from the card, was the path selected to copy the files same as when you imported before?
If not, then do not change the path while importing again and re-import the files selecting the "Copy New Files Only" option.

Duplicate photo files being created in Bridge

I have a Mac Book pro with sno leopard and use CS5 and am having weird issues with photos from my canon 5d mk II and 7 d. Bridge is creating duplicate photo files after I download them. Sure adobe told me to purge my cache , ok, that works but it just starts re creating them again?

You can set up a scan when you create a new device in System Preferences:
go to System Preferences --> FCSVR Pref pane --> Devices Pane and then choose create new device ("+" sign and the Device Assistant will appear. You choose the type and then you can set up a Full or Add only Scan here.)
Other option is to set up a Scan via the Administration window in the Java Client:
This is not as easy since there is no Device Assistant.
go to Admin window in Java Client --> Response and then create a new 'Scan' response on the device you want to scan. 'Scan Productions' is something different, maybe you want that instead, I don't know. Depending on how you set it up, it can create a Production in FCSVR catalogue for each folder or subfolder and that media will be scanned and placed into that Production in FCSVR catalogue.
Anyways, once you create the Scan Response, go to Admin pane --> Schedule. Create a new schedule and add the 'Scan' response you just created to the "Response List" section. Don't forget to check "Enabled"...can't tell you how many times I created the response but then forgot to enable it.
Once you scan the assets, they are in the FCSVR catalogue with clip proxies, thumbnails and posterframes. If you have existing FCP projects that use this media, you will want to make sure the media in the FCP project is connected to that same media that was scanned. When you upload the FCP project, it will not dup the assets, just add the FCP project to it, unless you didn't set the EIP device correctly. If you look in Search All Jobs, the only thing that should be generated at this point it Edit Proxies (if you enabled them) and Elements.
Now my question to you is the same as Chris' question here http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9147105#9147105. How did you set things up so far? What is your workflow? Where is your media?

IPhoto loads duplicate photos from my Nikon D3100

iPhoto seems to be creating duplicate photos for every image on my Nikon D3100. The camera playback shows only one image in the memory of the camera, but when it loads to iPhoto, there are two of the same image. This is true for downloads of hundreds of shots as well as those of just a few.
Anyone encountered a similar problem?

Revel does not have an interface with versions of Elements prior to version 11. If you had Elements 10 set up to sync with Photoshop.com and it was up to date, then all your jpg photos should have migrated to Revel. If you did not, then you can access the photos from your hard drive and upload them directly to Revel. You will need to create each album that you desire and import the photos into them.
