Revel publishing

Thanks for Revel publishing in 4.2
I can't however get it to work the way I suppose it should.
When I create a collection and publish it it goes to Revel fine.
But if I edit a photo and resubmit the changes don't show up,
and the photo is left in the modified photos to be resubmitted category in Lightroom.
Is this a bug?

Thanks Victoria.  I disabled Revel. Then closed Lightroom, reopened it and was then able to add a Publish Service at the Hard Drive publishing level.  I now can now do, for free, what I was previously using Revel to do.  That was I wanted to sync photos on all my ios devices easily from Lightroom without exporting to IPhoto first.  I still don't know why I had to disable Revel before setting up another publish service at the hard drive publishing level.  By the way, I believe I got the idea from "The Digital Photography Connection.com."
It all started when my wife wanted an easy way to get her photos exported from Lightroom to her 1st generation IPad.  Blame the wife right? Not reallly, she is just calling me for my breakfast of bacon and eggs--and hot coffee.Got to go.

  • Lightroom 4.1 Revel Publish JPG from RAW?

Now that the Revel publishing service is built into Lightroom 4.1, what is happening when I publish a large take of raw files? Does Lightroom first render jpgs, upload the jpgs to Revel and then snyc those back to lightrooms raw files? I don't want addition jpgs in my lightroom catalog, but im ok with having jpg versions of the raw file on Revel.
I would actually like to do this for my entire raw archive. Storing that many fullsize jpgs online for $5.99 a month isnt that bad.

It does publish jpeg copies. Does not create any derivatives in the catalog.

  • No more Revel publish service in Lr5?

After upgrading to Lightroom 5, I found an error message in the Publish service pane reporting the Revel module as missing. Is there a new module foreseen for Lr5?

That answers my question I guess. Thanks!
Interestingly Google searches would not return that page. Too recent?

  • Revel photos no longer showing in Lightroom 5

I believe this is the sequence of events, but I may be off unfortunately.
I wanted to create a new Revel Library, but I did it incorrectly.  I ended up creating a new collection under one of the Revel libraries.  From LR 5, I tried to delete this collection but a message is displayed that it won't because it thinks there are photos on the Revel service (or some similar type wording).  There were no photos populated yet, so this message made no sense.  I logged on to Revel via web and was able to delete that collection, then I go back to LR and now can delete that collection.
What I noticed when I made the mistake was that all collections for that library were no longer listed under that library in LR, but they are viewable via the web.
I think once I deleted that collection from the library, either right away or after quiting and reopening LR for that particular library, all collections that were there are listed, but none of them show any photos.  My other Revel libraries/collections are ok.
In the end, this is the problem.  The photos are in Revel on the web but LR does not know what photos were in each collection showing 0 count and no photos.
    How do I resolve this?

I'm a little confused trying to understand the exact problem.  It sounds like you deleted a Revel publish collection, first from the Revel site on the web, then deleted the same publish collection from within Lightroom.  After doing that, none of your Revel collections show photos in Lightroom?  Maybe a screenshot of your Revel collections inside Lightroom might help explain.

  • Troubleshooting for publishing

    Hi,
For some reason, Adobe Premiere Elements is not publishing to Adobe Revel. I set up my account and authorized it and everything but it is still not publishing my final file to Revel. I am using a PC. I tried pressing retry when the error dialogue box popped up several times and still nothing. Please help!!!

    Thanks for the reply.
Is this a "it worked before but not now" or "it never worked before" type issue for your Premiere Elements 12/12.1 on Windows 8 64 bit issue?
(I am assuming that you have updated 12 to 12.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update...if you have not, please do so.)
Many Online Services are not available to certain parts of the world. Without going into a specific location, are you outside the USA and Canada?
Have you tried to refresh the Online Service in Edit Menu/Preferences/Web Sharing?
When you are successful, the Adobe Revel Publish+Share/Private Web Album puts a AVCHD.mp4 video (1280 x 720) version of your Timeline content
at its site. For troubleshooting purposes, can you export your Premiere Elements Timeline to an AVCHD.mp4 (1280 x 720) file saved to your computer hard drive and then upload that file to Adobe Revel at its web site with your Adobe Revel account?
It is my understanding the Adobe Revel's basic account allows for a total upload at its site of 2 GB. Anywhere near that?
Please review and consider and then let us know of your progress.
    Thank you.

  • Sync favorite selections back to LR

I published photos to my Revel premium account through LR4.
After selecting all my favorite photos using my iphone5, I can see them in my favorite selections.
When I go back into LR4, click on the published folder, under Publish Services, it does not show any of my favorites, or any of the folders that I created in Revel.
I want to be able to "pick" or "sort" through my bulk images using Revel, then create a folder of my favorites (on Revel) and sync my selections/favorites folder with LR, on my PC. How can I accomplish this?
It would appear that I may be able to download the favorites folder and then re-import it into LR. This would cause duplicate images in my catalog and take tons of time downloading and re-importing.
A more basic questions is how can I get ANY changes made in Revel to my show up in my LR published services album?

Thanks Annie, for the prompt reply!
All due respect, but I don't see why you need to ask the Lightroom developers if the arrows indicate two-way sync. They point both ways! Just take a look at the screenshot of the Publish Services module, on Terry's blog, just below the quote I excerpted below. There is a little icon next to the "Create Now Tour" item under the Revel Publish Service, and there are clearly arrows that point both ways on that icon. I'm sure you'll say I'm picking nits, and that it's a "Publish" service, not a "Sync" service. Point taken, in advance, but read on...
As for Terry's article, here's the section that implies sync functionality:
"In addition to uploading your photos, the Mac and iOS Revel Apps allow you to do non-destructive edits to your photos. Think of it as a Light version of the Lightroom develop module for consumers. It’s all slider based and like I said, 100% non-destructive. Once you make edits on one device those edits are automatically sync’d to all your other devices." [Emphasis mine.]
He even mentions Lightroom in that quote! I know you can (and will) argue that he's simply saying the edits are synced across all versions of Revel, but why would you then connect Revel to Lightroom with incomplete functionality?
Really, the bottom line is this: why wouldn't Adobe want to encourage every iPad user to use their apps, and what better way to do so than to include true sync functionality??
I'd love to have you ask the Lightroom developers that question!
    Sincerely,
    John

  • Deleted Photos, no dent made in storage usage

Phone says I have used 11.9 GB and only have 211 MB available. 4.9 GB in Photos & Camera.
SO - I started deleting photos. No dent was made in the storage.
I have 401 photos and 24 video files. The video files are various sizes and total 10 minutes.
How in the world is that almost 5 GB? Does that make sense? I do have 388 items in the 'deleted files' spot. Are those actually taking up my space despite being deleted?
    Thanks

I'm a little confused trying to understand the exact problem.  It sounds like you deleted a Revel publish collection, first from the Revel site on the web, then deleted the same publish collection from within Lightroom.  After doing that, none of your Revel collections show photos in Lightroom?  Maybe a screenshot of your Revel collections inside Lightroom might help explain.

  • How to Publish to Revel from Lightroom using a Facebook Account

I signed in to my Revel Account using my Facebook Account.  I'm trying to publish from Lightroom but it's not accepting my Facebook ID and Password.  How do I publish from Lightrrom using a Facebook account or how do I switch my Revel Facebook login to my Adobe login?  Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello
To set up publishing to Revel 1.10  is easy in Lightroom 4. I would suggest that you update to Lightroom 4.4 first. You can goto the help menu in Lightroom and then select " Check for updates" then update to version 4.4. Also make sure you have updated to Revel 1.10
Here is the instructions to do this for Revel as its similar to set it up for Facebook too. It is pretty simple to set up. http://help.adobe.com/en_US/lightroom/using/WS2bacbdf8d487e582-46da1b6f13419e06a64-8000.ht ml
Here you will see the Lightroom Publishing Manager. Click on the Revel tab and then select Authorize  Revel button. You will then be prompted to sign into your Revel account. If your Facebook account log in information is not working then I would suggest to log in with your Adobe ID. You are best to do that anyway.
In the image below you can see that I created separate albums for pictures. Then you can drag your photos to these folders and click publish. Then check your Adoberevel.com to see if the images show. Once you see that they uploaded in the upperleft of Lightroom, then you should see the images show in Revel.
You can publish to Facebook from Lightroom the same way. Just click on the facebook tab on the publishing manager and authorize the Facebook connection with your Facebook log information. You will then be prompted to log into your Facebook account thru a browser.

  • Lightroom publish service Revel making albums

In Lightroom publish services for Adobe Revel, there are no options for creating indivisual albums in a Library. The only option is to create a new Library. This not helpful.
    Is there a way?

It does publish jpeg copies. Does not create any derivatives in the catalog.

  • FAQ: How do I share files in Revel?

    SHARING OVERVIEW:
In Revel, you can share links to albums which allows others to view photos and videos from a web browser at adoberevel.com. Revel also supports sharing in a variety of other ways, by email, facebook, twitter, message, etc. In addition, users can create libraries and invite other revel users (such as close friends and family) to collaborate in a group library. Collaborative users in a group library can add photos and videos, make comments, and favorite photos and videos.
SHARING PHOTOS AND VIDEOS ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Users can share specified photos and videos on social media sites such as facebook and twitter. They can also post a link on social media sites that will take users to view an album on adoberevel.com in their browser.
SHARING LINKS TO ALBUMS (Recipient does not need a Revel account)
General sharing in Revel is done by sending a link to an album to others so that they can then click on it or paste it into a web browser in order to access your Revel album online for viewing and downloading files (You can enable or disable downloading for each album). If you want to share a particular photo, you can view an album in the browser, then select the photo of choice, and then copy the url in the browser bar and send that instead. Users will still have access to the entire album, but it will open one specific photo.
    SHARING VIDEOS
In iOS, you can share a video by tapping on the video to bring it up in full screen view (loupe view). Tap on the arrow on the upper right hand corner and pick "share". You can share via message, twitter , or email. Alternately, you can select the arrow and pick share to facebook.
In adoberevel.com, videos must be put into an album and then a link to the album can be shared as described above in “Sharing Links to Albums”
Video is not yet supported in the Mac and Windows 8 versions of Revel.
GROUP LIBRARIES  (Recipient must have a Revel account)
Revel users have the ability to create additional libraries, and the option to maintain them collaboratively with selected trusted users. This feature allows multiple users to login to Revel and access a "GROUP" library. The owner invites other users to participate in his/her group library by email invitation. Users who participate in a group library will have access to the library when they login to their own accounts. They can add and edit files, and remove files that they have added, but cannot delete files that others have added.

    Hi Gábor,
It is possible you are sharing the wrong URL. This wouldn't surprise me as the FAQ is terribly confusing. I am going to re-state how to share an album with friends.
To share an album from adoberevel.com:
    1. Go into your Library and create an album with whatever images you'd like.
    2. While in the album select Share. A dialog displays - select to Start Sharing
    3. After that another dialog displays with a short URL. Copy that URL and send it out via email or use one of the share icons that display on that screen. You can also select from that screen if you want people to be able to download images.
You can select to stop sharing the album at any time by going back to that same dialog and select to Stop Sharing.
If you want to share an album through the Revel Desktop:
    1. Go into your Library and select the Album icon (or go to File>New Empty Album
    2. Enter a name for you album. Select the Share to adoberevel.com checkbox. You can also decide if you want to allow downloads here.
    3. A short URL will be generated. You can copy that now if you'd like or come back to it. Select Create button.
    4. Add photos to the album.
    5. Click on the album in the list and a little " i " will display next to the album name. Click on it and the URL will display. That is the URL that you share.
Again, you can select to stop sharing the album at any time by going back to that same dialog and select to Stop Sharing.

  • OSX 10.7.4 Lightroom 4.1 upgrade: Revel export option no longer available...

after a lightroom 4.1 upgrade on my Mac OSX 10.7.4, the revel export no longer displays.  although, i can attempt to reauthorize the account the option for revel remains unavailable (see screenshot):
i've attempted to reinstall the 4.1 upgrade, but the issue persists.  please advise...

Revel is a Publish Service plug-in, not an Export plug-in.....so I wouldn't expect to find it in the Export dialog. It's down in the Publish Services at the bottom of the left-hand panel in the Library Module.

    Hi,
I have quite the same problem here. I firstly synced my iPad with my desktop, and everything seemed to be fine. Then I synced it with my laptop and two apps I purchased from my desktop disappeared from my iPad... All other apps that I purchased/downloaded directly from my iPad seem to work fine, but I would really like to know something more about the "logic" that iTunes uses for syncing...
Ah... almost forgor: yes, I read p. 28 on of UG, yes, I contacted iTunes support and they sent me here, and yes I read something (not that much, of course) here and there in the web...
Really would appreciate your help, because I wouldn't want to "loose" my apps each time I sync to my laptop... thanks!

  • FAQ: Will my Elements 11 software be able to automatically sync and back up files to Revel?

Q: Will my Elements software be able to automatically sync and back up files to Revel?
A: Revel offers easy publishing from Elements to the iOS platform and the web. We look forward to adding more automated features in the future.
Elements 11 is integrated with Revel, so you can share your photos to Revel for access on the web and across your mobile devices.
You can also view "Working with Adobe Revel" on Adobe TV.
With Photoshop Elements 11 you can import photos directly from Revel for editing and creating, and you can share photos from your Elements 11 Organizer to AdobeRevel.com. By Selecting from the File menu "Import from Adobe Revel" or "Export to Adobe Revel"
Just as before, you can share via email or upload your media directly to Facebook, Flickr, YouTube™, and other popular sharing sites and now you can share photos to Adobe Revel. Just click the Adobe Revel icon at the bottom of the list to upload your photos.

Yes all your files are in your Time Machine backup. If you never used Time Machine your files are probably gone for good. Especially if you can't get the system to boot up. It is very hard to retrieve files from a SSD.
Once a Mac reports No Hardware Installed for some piece of built in hardware, like the WiFi card, usually that is caused by the failure of that piece of hardware. The only way to fix that is to replace that piece of hardware.

  • Moving a video to Iphone or Adobe Revel using 12

Okay, I've made video I would like to put on my Iphone.  I first tried to put it on Revel and clicked "Publish Share" and the "Private Web Album" choice.  It made a movie clip file that is about 375 meg.  I tried to drag and drop the file to my mobile album in Organizer but it won't add in.  There is a small upload icon at the bottom of the screen that never stops circling.
I then chose "mobile phones and players."  It made an MP4 that is 21 meg.  I tried to add it to my Iphone using Itunes and it shows to be there on Itunes but it is not in my video folder on my phone.
I just need to get oriented on how to do this.  Where do I find instructiions?

The easiest way to do it from the Organizer is to use the Revel option under the Share tab. This will send an optimized file to Revel. You do essentially the same thing from Publish & Share in Premiere Elements 12.
Adding files to Revel by dragging them into the Revel folders on the left side of the Media Browser sends the original file to Revel -- not an optimized file. Optimized files are for sharing with your friends. Saving the original file to Revel means that you'll be able to download and use it in a video project in the future.
The difference,as you've found, is that the original file is pretty large. It doesn't go to Revel in a few seconds. But, if you drag a Revel folder onto it and then just leave it. (You can even shut off the Organizer and go about other work) it will eventually make its way up there.
    Make sense?
