Revenue recognition job hangs and needs reboot of servers

We are on SAP BPC v7.0 SP6.1, using Microsoft Office 2007 and Internet Explorer 7.  We have two environments - Production and QA.  Production so far is running fine; QA is on a smaller environment.
I am an application user and load final production files into QA each month.  For the past two months when trying to run the revenue recognition job for April 2010 and again for May 2010, the job just hangs where it would normally take about two minutes to complete.  Both times it was the only job running at the time, as no one was using the QA environment.  I had to terminate the job (which might leave the job running in the background) and have our Server team reboot our two servers (Application and SQL Server Analysis Services).  Then the revenue recognition job completes.
Depending if I terminate and resubmit the revenue recognition job, I might get the following detail log message:
Execute formulasError
Failed to commit transaction
1 errors writing data
Send through SendGovenor failed
Last week, our DBA set the QA databases to Simple instead of Full recovery and shrank the transaction log files.  I ran a test revenue recognition for July 2010 and the DBA tried to monitor the environment, but he could not see any job committing or any activity on the database.  I ended up rebooting our servers to complete the test.
Has anyone experience similar problems and was able to resolve it.  Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks.
Bucky

Hi Sorin Radulescu,
I load the initial billing file using the Import logic script and select the data file and transformation file.  I click on the Merge data values option; click No to run default logic; and click No, do not check work status settings.  Once the import completes, I run the revenue recognition logic for the accounts and periods I am working with.
I compared our Production transformation file, default logic script (which I am not running), and revenue recognition logic script to QA and they both match.  My problem is when I run the exact same revenue recognition job in QA, the job just sits in running status but should finish in a couple of minutes.  I would let it run for a couple of hours in QA, then terminate the job and have our two servers rebooted, then the same revenue recognition job runs to completion within a couple of minutes.
I am just wondering if there could be some other setting that does not let the job submission kick off the actual update to the database.  To make sure the database was not hosed from the terminated revenue recognition job, I ran a different but smaller job and it completed.  Then I would ask for the reboot and resubmit the revenue recognition job and it completes.
I will let our DBA know about monitoring the dllhost.exe for amount of memory used.  But the last time he tried to check for any activity on the database he could not see anything, but I do not know if he was checking dllhost.exe or some other files.
Thanks for your response and suggestions.  Since this is our QA environment (which I try to keep current with Production), I am trying to see if I can identify the cause and fix it, in case it carryover to our Production environment.
Regards,
Bucky

  • Does ipad air hang and need reboot often?

I found Ipad Air requires frequent reboot. Does any one else face this issue. I used Ipad 1, 4 but none had such issues in past

My iPad air does not restart or require a restart. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

I recently upgraded to Lion, and immediately started having consistent problems with Open Office 12 (would hang, and need a Force quit to recover). Has anybody else seen these problems? Any solutions other than going back to Snow Leopard? (I did). But I'd like to use iCloud with iPad.

Hi Pete. The repair of disk permissions can help resolve  any application crashing or misbehaving.
As for Lion and the two camps, I think that is a reasonable observation. In my office we have about a dozen Mac's and about one third of those Mac's had problems after updating from 10.6 to 10.7. The main problem for these Mac's was a loss of wifi stability. But for the other two-thirds, Lion was a smooth transition.
Personally, my Lion experience was fine. But I did get a new i7 MacBook Pro with Lion already installed and only had to migrate my user data from a 10.6.8 TM backup.
So I think that is a key for Lion's operational success. A clean install of Lion on a new Mac would not cause too many operational issues. But an installation, or more correctly, an update to Lion from SL increased the chances of failure for some users - especially when old software & plugins resided on the Mac. And I would say that they were the people that you saw at the Apple store.
As for the "latest release of Lion fixed my problems" statement, my experience with these and other forums is that people mostly only go there to complain about the problems they are having. If they are having no problems then they either keep it to themselves or they try to help the users who are experiencing trouble...

Please throw me the light, what may be issue.

I suggest you install [ IPD/OS|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/clustering/ipd_download_homepage.html] on you cluster. This will give you all the relevant OS statistics so when a node reboot happens, you can figure out what the state of the nodes was at that time and then fix the problem. The hang is often caused by something other than Oracle RAC.

  • Hangs and was rebooting also previously

I had purchased HP Pavilion dv2401tu Notebook PC one and half year back . Now from past 2 months i m facing problem.Firstly it use to hang and restart giving memory accesing issue when i use to open more than one or 2 windows. Now i realised that could be problem of the insufficient RAM for vista,so i upgraded the RAM to 2Gb.Now the PC is hanging and not responding. It also shut down after some time or i had to force fully shut it down. Please let me know what is the issue.

    Hi,
First of all I would suggest that you try to reinstall the system to see if it gets better. You can do this using PC Companion:
    http://www.sonymobile.com/update
In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phones software >  "Repair phone".
Before repairing the software in your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to:

  • Satellite A660-18N hanging and needs hard reboot

My Satellite A660-18N hangs every other day about 2/3 times. I cannot press ctrl + alt + del and the mouse does not move. I have to hold down the power button to reboot it manually. It started about 2 weeks after I got it which was in September. I watch a lot of videos online (and offline) and usually after the screen freezes/hangs, the audio continues and stretches. I thought that this was a problem with IE8 so I switched to Google Chrome but this still continues. This problem also occurs offline. Also, after my laptop hangs, the fan speeds up so I thought it was an overheating problem. I bought a cooling mat a few days ago and the system still hangs. I'm not sure what to do now, can anyone help?
    Intel core i7 q740 @ 1.73Ghz
    4.00GB ram
    64-bit OS
    Windows 7
Nvidia Geforce 310M 512MB dedicated video memory

I'm having the same problem as the OP, with my A660-11M.
At the moment the display is freezing a few times every day and it's been like this for the last week. Before that, (almost) no problems for a few months after having similar problems.
So, it seems to be coming in bursts which is, needless to say, bizarre.
I too experiences it mainly while watching video (and similarly the audio would continue after the freeze) so I disabled Hardware Acceleration in the FlashPlayer settings after reading this post:
    http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Video-Display/Toshiba-A660-Screen-Freeze/td-p/189944
    But this didn't help.
Then I thought it might be Chrome, so I switched to Firefox 4.0.1 but this didn't help either.
Now, I have disabled the Flash plugin to see if that works - too early to say so far.
BTW, these days the crashing is occuring mostly when I am NOT playing video - although I don't play much video anyway.

  • New WRT320N wont keep connection, lags out and needs reboot.

OK so I just installed my brand new WRT320N and its been giving me massive problems.I upgraded from a WRT54G and never had this problem befor. The router seems to lag out. The connection doesnt just die and reboot. It seems that it stalls and lags out. I cant connect to anything. Not the router, not the internet, nothing. Everything just gets stuch in a perma loading state like it wants to load up but it cant.
I have just about tweaked everything inside of the routers settings and nothing seems to make it stop. I have reflashed and updated the bios twice. I have poked around and looked at other posts and tried what was suggested, but none of it has worked. At this point im thinking I have to RMA the silly thing but I am hoping some one might recognize the problem and can help me out. Also, this problem is strictly wired, not wireless. It happens to the master PC where the router has a hard connection.
I am willing to entertain any and all options and suggestions.
Thank you all for you time.
If you need any more info on my rig, its a reply away.

As you have already Upgraded the firmware of the Router, Have you resetted your router and re-configured all the settings on it again. If not then Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...
Once you login to the Router setup page, Below the setup tab you will find MTU, which will be set to AUTO, so you need to change it to Manual and change the Size from 1500 to 1365 and click on Save Settings.
Reduce the Card Speed on your Router. Click on the Start button >>> go to RUN>> type in "ncpa.cpl"- hit OK >>Here(Network Connections) right click on the ""Local Area Connection"" icon and select properties-Here click on the "Configure"   jaspal button- Click on the "Advanced" tab- In the "Property" box highlight Link speed and duplex/Connection type/Network or Media type- And in the "Value" box select 10 Mbps half duplex/ 10 base T/10 base half mode and click on OK.
Now check if you still have the same problem with the router.

  • I apply to jobs online and need to provide my resume, which is in Word on Dropbox, but when I hit "Browse" to find Dropbox or any other repository all I can pull are photos. How can I get to my Word doc?

I need to attach a Word doc when online forms require it.  When I Browse for a file, all the iPad and the iPhone allows are photos or videos. I have these docs in Dropbox and Skybox but I cannot get to them from Browse. How can I do this?

Take a look at the iCab Mobile browser for the iPad. It allows document uploads if you configure it properly in the settings. iCab Mobile also works with DropBox.
You may have to download the documents to the iPad and upload from there, but it might be worth a look here.
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/icab-mobile-web-browser/id308111628?mt=8
This is copied from their website.
How can I upload any file (not only photos) under iOS 6?
Unlike the web engine of iOS 5.x and older, the web engine of iOS 6 has now basic upload support as well. But it only supports uploading photos and videos from the photo album. And this will only work under iOS 6.
The upload capability of iCab Mobile works under all iOS releases and supports uploading photos videos and all other file types. It can even scale down photos before uploading to save bandwidth.
But iCab's own custom upload capability has the disadvantage, that because of several iOS restrictions, it can not work on all web pages. Therefore under iOS 6, iCab Mobile provides a switch in the settings where the user can choose, if iCab should use the upload capability from the iOS (only photos, works with some more web pages) or the capabilities of iCab (photos and all other files, can't work on all web pages).
So if you need to upload other files than just photos, make sure that you set the option "Upload files via" in the settings to "iCab Mobile".

  • EA6200 slows down over time and needs reboot

Anyone with a EA6200 notice it slowing down after about a week of use?  I just replaced my e2000 with a EA6200 and its runs very well for about a week.  After about a week I notice it slows down.  Pages start loading very slow on all of my devices on my 2.4ghz and 5ghz ssids.  It slows down to a point where it takes forever just to get logged into the router to and get to the page where I can reboot it so I know its the router.  Once I reboot it, it runs great for about another week.  Its using newest firmware.  I have 2.4ghz set to 20mhz and 5ghz set to 80mhz, channels set to auto.  Nothing to customized beyond that.

    Try:
Connectivity => Administration => Cut through Forwarding => Uncheck
If IPv6 isn't required by your ISP; Connectivity => Internet Settings => IPv6 => Edit => Uncheck Enable
Media Prioritization => Enable => Check
Media Prioritization => Settings and apply accurate Downstream and if available Upstream values; Initially keep all devices and Apps normal priority
If you have throughput issues on Wifi try Disabling WMM support (EA6200\6400); if no difference is notice re-enable WMM
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

  • Macbook Pro crashes and needs reboot 10.8.1

    Hi all,
Having an odd issue. Since upgrading to OS X 10.8 and now running 10.8.1 my MacBook Pro crashes intermitently. The operating system becomes unresponsive and the only thing I can do is move the mouse and nothing else. The only solution is to hold the power button down.
I did have a few kernal panics before upgrading to 10.8.1. Not had one for a while now.
I have run an Apple Hardware Test and I have run a Memtest and everything has reported no issues.
I have looked at the Console logs but can't see anything obvious (not really sure what to look for). Does anyone have any ideas what the issue could be?
    THanks in advance.

  • IPhone 5 keeps shutting down and needs rebooting even when fully charged?

My iPhone 5 keeps shutting down when left unattended. This requires a full reboot and this doesn't always work either. Sometimes it requires a full reboot several times. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 5s. I travelled to the UK and my phone started having this issue over there (i have turned the cellular data off). I restored my phone last night but when it asked me to set it up again, i chose for it to set up from the back up i had stored on my Mac. The problem is still presistent even though it is shutting down less often. I am going to restore it to the factory settings tonight and see if I keep getting the same issue I will take it to a Mac Genius. However if it works i will let you know

  • Safari 4.1.1 hanging and needing 5-step restart program.

I use Safari 4.1.1. It has always occasionally hung but hanging has become increasingly frequent during the last year--often 3 or 4 times within an hour or two. I have installed all updates as they have appeared. In order to close Safari and restart it I do the following:
    1. Force Quit Safari (only once or twice has this not worked; I have then had to shut down using the power button).
    2. Restart Safari by clicking its icon in the Task Bar, at which time my home page (Google) does not load beyond a blank, white screen (no logo, etc.). I then:
    3. Reset Safari, checking off all items for resetting. Again, Google will not load, so I:
    4. Quit Safari using Quit under File.
    5. Restart Safari by clicking its icon in the Task Bar, at which time it starts and loads fine. Then, I'm off surfing, just waiting for the next time it hangs all.
    HELP!

    Welcome to the forums!
Do you have enough RAM? Less than 1GB can cause slowness. Is your hard drive too full? Less than 15%, or 15GB, of free space can also cause slowness.
If you use a router, does it have the latest firmware installed? Safari 5 introduced 'DNS Prefetching' (Safari looks up the addresses of links on webpages and can load those pages faster) which could strain some routers or modems producing a 'latency' in page loading. This was fixed in Safari 5.0.1, but you may see a benefit from getting a faster router or modem.
Adding DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security:
If you are using a single computer: Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2296
If your computer is part of a network: please refer to this page: http://www.opendns.com/start/bestpractices/#yournetwork and follow the advice given.
(An explanation of why using Open DNS is both safe and a good idea can be read here: http://www.labnol.org/internet/tools/opendsn-what-is-opendns-why-required-2/2587 /
Open DNS also provides an anti-phishing feature: http://www.opendns.com/solutions/homenetwork/anti-phishing/ )
Wikipedia also has an interesting article about Open DNS:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenDNS
Whilst in System Preferences/Network you should also turn off 'IPv6' in your preference pane, as otherwise you may not get the full speed benefit (the DNS resolver will default to making SRV queries). If you want to know what IPv6 is:
This is Apple's guidance on iPv6:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8708.html
Click on Apply Now and close the window.
    Restart Safari, and repair permissions.
Also, third-party add-ons created for a previous version of Safari may cause problems:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3230?viewlocale=en_US
If that didn't do it, then try this as well:
Empty Safari's cache (from the Safari menu), then close Safari.
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete the following files:
    form values
    download.plist
Then go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete
    com.apple.Safari.plist
    Repair permissions (in Disk Utility).
Start up Safari again, and things should have improved.

  • Yosemite keeps hanging and needs hard reset every night

    Problem description:
System keeps locking up from sleep. At least daily system grinds to a halt and does not respond (other than mouse) and I have to do a hard reset (power recycle) to get it back up and running. I have done a clean install of Mac OS and have had this problem regardless of what else has been installed. Tried both a firmware and SMC/PRAM reset, and still no change. Getting really tired of this!!!!

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the BOOT_TIME log message that corresponds to the last boot time when you had the problem. Now clear the search box to reveal all messages. Select the ones logged before the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
For example, if the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down for three minutes before you forced a restart, post the messages timestamped within three minutes before the boot time, not after. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract—not at the beginning.
If there are long runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". A shutdown stall report has a name that ends in ".shutdownstall". Select the most recent of each, if any. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. It's possible that none of these reports exists.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash or panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • IMac constantly hanging up - needs reboot every few hours

I'm running an i5 iMac currently when I play WoW. Usually I only have Safari and iTunes open at the same time. My iStat tells me GPU temps are around 80 celsius and CPU temps at 55 celsius. When I'm playing WoW for an hour or two, everything on my display will freeze up, but I can still move the mouse pointer around. The music from iTunes keeps playing as well but keys and etc are unresponsive.
My first thought was that it was a GPU heating issue so I tried out smcFan control, which bumped my GPU temps down to 62 celsius and CPU temps of 45 celsius.
Is anyone else having these issues or know of any possible solutions? Thanks for your time.

yes i had the same exact problem, now my imac will not boot at all.
do you think it was a heating issue?

  • SAP Revenue recognition Credit Memo Accounting document

    Hi,
One of our client uses SAP Revenue recognition to post revenue. They have implemented the Service related revenue recognition (revenue recognition category B) and also process credit/debit  memo with reference to preceding docuemnt
"F". Each month a debit memo is issued ot the customer for the services performed. Eventually we create credit memos when the customer disputes a particular debit memo invoice. Debit memo and credit memo documents
    are created with DP96.
The issue they have currently is with the credit memo account document postings. Client credit memo accounting documents are making postings to unbilled revenue accounts. The postings remain as  debit postings in unbilled revenue accounts even after revenue is recognized for an order. According to them accounting rules do not fulfil with the credit memo postings to the unbilled revenue account. Hence we need your expert advice/opinoins.
Please reply as soon as possible because its very high priority issue.
    Thanks & Regards
    K.R.

    Hi,
Please check the reason for value not flowing to the header data of the billing document.Once you get the value of the document tin the header , there will be no issue in creating an accounting document.
Check the item category of the credit memo.
    Regards,
    Phani Prasad
