Reverb/echo sounds disappointing

Am new to Garage Band (and Mac) - just two weeks... Added reverb to male voice, recorded with internal mic. Although really pleased with GB, I was disappointed with revrb and echo - it sounds thin, and a bit crackly, and even with the slider on 100 per cent, the reverb is not very long. Could not see if I can mix signal and effect. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just a weakness in an otherwise excellent application, and I would be better off buying an external effects unit? Is the disappointing reverb to do with the not very good internal mic, perhaps?

First of all - I don't think you can really judge the quality of the reverb when using the internal microphone!
The "Reverb" slider is basically a wet/dry slider, only it adds wet to the dry sound, you can't hear the reverb alone.
You can vary the Reverb's parameters (that affect the Reverb slider in all tracks) in the Master Track. Additionally, you can add the AUMatrixReverb effect to any of the tracks if you want it to have a different one. Overall, that's a lot of variability, and you should check it with a track that was recorded with a good microphone.

Hearing Reverb/Echo Sounds on SB Live

in the past two days, when listening to sounds on my headphones (and speakers too) there's been a lot of oddity with the sound. the biggest problem is the apparent reverb/echo effect that seems to be consistently on. I've checked to make sure that this effect isn't turned on in the mixer. additionally, there have been other oddities such as the volume level being very very low, even if the volume control is set at about halfway point.
I'm using Windows XP SP2 and there is no standalone driver available on the site for my card, only an update to a previous download that is no longer listed.

OK - try this:
Uninstall the sound card in device manager:
Right click "my Computer" > properties > Hardware > Device Manager
> sound & video game controllers > creative SB li've! series, right click and uninstall
Then Re-Boot
your system will detect and re-install the card reverb gone
don't know why this works - it just does

Is anyone elses iPod making a echoing sound when you plug in headphones or an external device?

Please help me I notice when I plug in an external device such as headphones or a car accessory my iPod makes this scratchy echoing sound and you can just hear back up music

I wanted to see if my webcam's video is working with Skype, but I couldn't seem to use it when making a test call with the Echo / Sound Test Service. Do I have to make an actual call to test the webcam or is there another way? Thank you.

High pitch squeal when turning up volume and an echo sound

I have never gotten good audio from my computer......any time I want to watch or hear something I have to turn it up to about 35 before I hear anything and then a deafening high pitch squeal happens that makes it impossible to listen to anything.....if I plug in my headphones there is so much feed back with a horrible echo sound that I cant stand to listen for long.....I want to know if there is anything I can do to get decent sound from this laptop. tia

I have an IPHONE 5, but I think if no solution is given by Apple, this one is the last iphone i bougth.

My experience with iOS7 crashing seems to be tied to bluetooth and when I activate the keyboard in relationship to having a text box on the screen.
Apple rarely acknowledges an issue, once they fix it, they just quietly bundle it into an update and it goes away.
Issues can also be very difficult to track down given the number of iPads out there (millions) and I doubt (excepting school or business set up ones) that two iPads are identical. Issues can be hard to track down when the common denominator is hard to determine.

I HAVE A ECHO SOUND COMING FROM MICROPHONE CONSTANTLY

I have a constant echo sound coming from my computer

Earlier this week I right clicked the speaker icon located at the bottom right corner of my desktop's taskbar. I clicked on recording devices and double clicked the stereo mix chip-looking icon. Under the listen tab, I unchecked the box that said listen to this device. The sound and smell stopped, but my speaker volume is now irreparably low even though the volume is turned all the way up. Any suggestions other than buying external speakers/headphones?

Need to cut the reverb/echo while exporting

I'm having trouble while exporting projects - in the old version of Garageband, I used to set the loop region for where I wanted the track to end, and this would cut off any additional reverb or echo from bleeding over at the end of the track. Now, I'm setting the loop region accordingly and the end of track marker where I'd like the song to end, but I'm still getting about 5-6 seconds of unwanted reverb/echo. I need the song to stop hard where I want it to, so that it loops correctly when using the music for video games. Anyone having a similar issue?

Have tried to use the "reverb" automation curve instead?
Set "reverb" to zero at the end of the region.

Buzzing and Echo Sound After Recording

Hello,
I am hearing a buzzing and echo sound in the background after I record a project on Captivate 4. I am using a USB DYNEX Microphone that is connected to the Laptop. Adjusted the Volumne in Captivate but does not elemintate the background noise. Any suggestions???

Have you looked for environmental noises, both electrical and audible?
Here are some possible culprits for induced electrical "buzz" or "hum." These "noises" are actually created by electrical interference in the recording equipment, and don't become apparent until playback:
Fluorescent strip lighting.
AC power cords near the microphone cable.
Mic cable near CRT displays.
Other electronic devices where you are recording.
If you're using a laptop, I find I have better luck running on battery power when recording, though I'm not clear if this is because of the power source, or because power-save features kick in that make the machine quieter.
Another possibility is real audio noise that you mentally tune out when you're in the room, but hear when you listen to playback. Some ones I've run into:
Ventilation noise. Particularly if you're recording in a building where you work all the time, you don't hear the ventilation system unless you really stop to listen for it.
Small electronic devices -- fans, projectors, etc. that might be in the room.
Also, play around with microphone position relative to your mouth; it's possible that the source of the racket is your own breath!!

when i click on my tracks to adjust reverb/echo they are turned off, dead, i cannot check or uncheck the box. anyone have this prob? not sure what's going on. they are not locked. thanks

Developing a simple echo sounder

Dear All
I am a final year science student trying to use Laview 4.1 in order to produce and run a virtual echo sounder. My main problem is that i need to retrieve a sound echo from an underwater microphone and record and display the signal using labview 4.1. Is there a VI that allows the user to record sound? and if so can, where can i find it?

Reverb ( Echo ) On Microph

I have a aud 4 on a Asus Av8 M/B....i can't control the volume level on microphone i just goes to the top when i have the boost on....on hardware test in control panel if doesn't pick up voice without the boost...when testing i get a reverb or echo coming through the speakers...i have reserved Iq5 for legency as said by Creative...on board sound is disabled in bois..any help before i switch to on board for a easier life by the way...no sound effects are on,,no eax...all is default....all creative daigonse test run ok

About the EAX console or reverb, echo, whichever you cho

Someone care to help? I cant get the EAX console to make myself reverb or echo, it makes others reverb and echo..... I have tried everything i click the what you hear and turn the mic on, i've played with everything i can think of to make it work... The whole reason i bought it was so i could sing songs and make my voice echo in chat programs such as paltalk. So any information you all have on it will be helpful. I have the SB Audigy LS

?Audio console is a nice tool, wich does include ALL regular?functions you will need. Why do someone regulary need a bass configuration? (most speakers dont need bass configuration @ all) Speaker setup is included, who needs a speaker test tool for that? If you want to play around, you are still able to use the much heavier tools. Most people, who dont need this stuff dont want to have this big and overloaded tools. Audio- console is fast, has got nearly all functions for regulary use and is very small. If you want to play around, there is still a CD in the box. If you bought a OEM/ BULK version your problem is self made. You didnt bought the software. You only bought the hardware. Soundfonts for MIDI playback can be loaded via soundfont- bank- manager or AHQ(older audigy drivers) So all needed functions are integrated into two tools. And many people dont need SFB, so Audio- console is all what they need to dri've around. Who needs a EQ? bass/ treble can be adjusted in Vollume tab. More than this isnt needed most times. Why isnt the software avaiable to download? You dont have a CD, so you dont have the rights to use this software (with the exception the CD was lost) Only drivers are available.

How to fix the echo sound?

My laptop always echoes after I did some configuration in the SOUND setting from the control panel. But I cannot reset it so that the echoes disappear. Anyone can fix this problem? Thanks!

Hi Jay,
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at f10 as you start-up to access the Bios Menu. On the first page of this menu, you should see entries for the full Model No. and Product No. - post back with these.

Satellite L675 - line out echos sound

I am a senior citizen. I have my laptop connected to my big screen tv - for ease in seeing (eye problems). Also, I stream a lot of movies through netflix. The computer is about a month old. The first 2 weeks everything worked great. Then, the sound started coming out of the computer speakers as well as the tv - which gives an echo (they are slightly off sequence). Makes it nearly impossible to watch movies. I have uninstalled my sound card and rebooted; I have unplugged the line out and rebooted. The audio "line out" is checked. But, when I do a sound check - I am STILL getting sound from the computer.
Any suggestions????

I have a follow up to the issue that George is having. I have the same model laptop and had the same issue. Now, I do see that you have the option to select either "Headphone" or "Line out" when connecting the audio jack to the TV. When using headphones, I can limit the output to the TV, and the "Line out" will have output coming from both the laptop speakers and the TV. However, and I may be mistaken, but isn't the audio quality better on the line out setting? Isn't additional information filtered when you go to headphones? It may be an incorrect perception on my part, but I feel like i'm getting higher quality audio out of line out. Because of this, I would rather have the laptop set to "line out" while still shutting off the laptop speakers.
Any thoughts? Anyway to achieve this?
