Reverse clip direction-nothing in advanced menu(as stated in Help)

just installed this hd 6.
previously i was able to reverse clip direction---advanced>reverse clip direction.
in imovie hd6 the help topic states to go to advanced after clip is selected. but there is no "reverse clip"command.
where and how do i do this task.
please answer.

Click on the 'Editing' tab below the clips pane on the right hand side, then on the 'Video FX' tab at the top, and scroll down to 'Fast/Slow/Reverse'.
As with most awkward things, this is described (..if you scroll right down to the bottom, under iMovie 5 / iMovie HD specific..) in Dan's brilliant "Unofficial" iMovie FAQ.
That should be everyone's first port of call for concise answers to iMovie problems!

I selected a short (8 sec) clip to reverse & after I completed the movie I viewed it in it's entirety & all looked okay. I imported it into a iDVD project & then made a disk image. Finally I burned a DVD & put it into a player to test the final product & found that all was perfect except the one clip I selected to play in reverse was very jittery on playback. Also tested it in my Mac with the same results. I have made over a 100 movies using this technique with no problems. But I will admit this is the first time I have used a reverse clip. Is this a known issue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.iMovie HD 6.0.2's Reversed Effect deinterlaces video. Skipping rendering in iMovie HD 6 doesn't help because the field dominance is still wrong, and this produces a zigzag effect when watched on an interlaced TV.

Reverse path direction in Illustrator CS5
I have started to use Illustrator CS5 for outline drawing this year. I purchased the license time ago, but I always preferred to use FreeHand for outline drawing (I design lettering and typefaces).
Now that FreeHand is unfortunately become a bit too obsolete for the new operating systems architectures, I have familiarized myself with Illustrator and was going decently, but I have been unable to find a solution to this problem yet:
Whenever I need to reverse the direction of a path (for various reasons), I can’t seem to find a way to do so, unless of course it’s a composed path (from two closed paths). I need to perform this operation. At work, I use InDesign CS6 and I have seen Adobe has introduced it in its palette, but I can’t find it in Illustrator CS5 or CS6.
Many thanks in advance to all those who could help me…You can temporarily make the simple path into a Compound Path (same thing as a FreeHand Composite Path) and then the reverse direction buttons in the Attributes palette will work. But like most everything in Illustrator, it's needlessly cumbersome:
Select the single path (Object>Compound Path>Make).
Select a portion of it with the white pointer. (Deselect, then click a segment or an anchor; don't altClick it to select the whole path, because Illustrator doesn't know the difference between a path's being selected as an object, as opposed to merely having all its anchors selected.)
Click the Reverse Direction button in the Attributes palette.
Deselect. Then select the whole path (sigh).
Object>Compound Path>Release.
Ridiculous, isn't it?
The scripting object model provides for a path direction setting (polarity), but interface doesn't provide access to it on normal paths. This simple script will reverse the polarity of currently selected paths:

Of course, while drawing glyphs, you'll soon run into the lack of other FreeHand no-nonsense features, such as extend/retract individual handles. And there's nothing you can do about the lack of Connector Points which ensure tangency between straight and curved segments.
What font program are you using? FreeHand's progenitor, Fontographer, from which its path drawing interface was derived (and which pre-dated Illustrator), is now owned and sold by FontLab. I would (and do) use that.

"Reverse Clip" option not showing...not greyed out...not present at all.
I'm trying to reverse a DV clip made with QT that I imported into iMovie 6.
When I select the clip in the clip viewer or timeline and then select the "advanced" pull down menu there is no option for reverse clip.
The only available options are 1) Extract Audio and 2) Paste Over At Playhead.

I think maybe you are getting 'Revert Clip to Original' and Reverse clip confused...
Revert is under Advanced but...
The Reverse option is in the Video FX choices. It's under Fast/Slow/Reverse

Adobe Acrobat X Pro was recently installed on my pc. I noticed some menu options are either missing or have moved and I can't find them. I am specifically looking for the Advanced menu option. I have searched Adobe Forums as well as the internet and haven't found a concrete answer.
Ultimately, I would like to create a date text field, using JavaScript, that will auto-display the current date. I technically know absolutely nothing about JavaScript but managed to find some information online. According to the Acrobat 6 Javascript Scripting Guide, the directions say to choose Advanced > JavaScript > Document JavaScripts to add a script. How do I do this in X?

How can I make the Smooth Scrolling option in the Advanced menu apply ONLY to the tab bar?
So, I'm one of those people who usually have 60+ tabs open at any given time. I'm also on a Lenovo laptop with a trackpoint (that may be relevant later).
Right now, I have smooth scrolling disabled.
In previous versions of Firefox, if I sat my cursor on the tab bar and scrolled either up or down, it would scroll across my tab bar at a constant, quick rate, usually taking about two or three seconds to reach the end. This wasn't an animated scroll (I've disabled that animated scroll via about:config in the current Firefox version).
However, now, it's doing something different. There's acceleration to the scroll. If I just tap the scroll in either direction, it scrolls only a few tabs. However, if I hold the scroll for a second, it instantaneously takes me to the far end of the tab bar, completely skipping at least thirty tabs in between.
I have tab scroll buttons added by Tab Mix Plus (smooth scrolling is also not enabled in that addon), and the same accelerating behavior occurs there. One or two taps of the button moves the bar a few tabs to the left or right, but several taps in quick succession takes me all the way to the far end of the bar.
I can restore the old scrolling behavior for the tab bar by turning on smooth scrolling in the Options > Advanced menu, but that turns on smooth scrolling for web pages at the same time. I don't like the web page smooth scrolling, and would rather not have it on.

How do you reverse the direction of a build in title?
I use Final Cut Pro X, and for a build in title, how would you reverse the direction? For example, One of the build in titles is called "Knock Out", and the words come into the frame away from you, but how do you make the words go the other way, and go towards you?
If you don't understand what I mean, that effect is called "knock out", and you can look at it in your application.
I know how to reverse clips, but that does not work with transitions/title effects
Thank you!This particular title does not offer many options for customization; in particular, no option for working the other around, as you want.
I can think of a few options for this. The easiest is would be to make the title by itself into a compound clip; but I have just tried it and it does not work, because the blend mode of the text (stencil alpha) does not propagate down inside a compound clip. (If it did, you'd just have to reverse the compound).
Another option is to open a copy in Motion and make changes there. If you have Motion, this will allow you to adjust as you wish.
Yet another easy way may be to "construct" this title yourself right in FCP X.
Insert the "Custom" title, adjust the text font, change the blend mode to Stencil Alpha, and keyframe the scale. -
SSRS 2012, any solution to reverse the direction Data Bar

I am trying to use data bar to have some visualisation of my report, however, there is a problem on the scale. I need to show a reverse direction (heading to the left side instead of heading to the default right side). I am currently use 100% stacked bar
that makes me show the concept, but my number is really small so it is so difficult to see the difference. is there anyway I can show a reverse direction from the simple data bar then I don't need to use the 100% stacked?

According to your description, you want to reverse the direction of Data Bar in Reporting Services. Based on my test, we can directly enable the Reverse direction option under the Scale options in Horizontal Axis Properties dialog box to achieve the goal.

How to reverse text direction in keynote?
Hello everybody,
I use Bullets ans lists a lot. One issue is that giving that i'm using Arabic language, the Bullets and Lists comes to the left of the text while it should come before the text, meaning to the right.
Using Pages I have no problem at all becouse there is the option "reverse text direction" under Alignment options. Can anybody help if such an option is avaliable in Keynote?
Thanks in advance.With your keyboard set to US, choose the text option with bullets. Then switch your keyboard to Arabic and type. Or set your OS language to Arabic before opening Keynote (it will still have its menus, etc in English).
It will still be good if Keynote had a direction control like Pages, so ask Apple to add that via

How to reverse table direction
Hi, i've noticed that there is a way to reverse a table direction in the "Help" menu, but, the steps given to reverse the table direction doesn't work!
After selecting the table, you are supposed to choose "Format" -> "Table" -> "Reverse Table Direction" but there is no such option! I can't even locate the "Table" inside "Format".
Any help...?

I'm on Numbers 3.5, which is the latest version of Numbers.
You are right about Numbers 3.2.x versions that didn't have any option of "Table" inside "Format", but this option didn't appear in the Numbers Help also.
After updating to Numbers 3.5, I checked this specific subject and saw that it is in the Help menu, so I thought it is a new feature they added to the app.
For some reason, there is a documentation for it in the Help menu of the app, but no sign of it in the app itself.
This is definitely a mistake by Apple. No way there is documentation for it in the Help menu but no sign for it in the app itself. Something is wrong here... -
After I updated my Final Cut Pro X to 10.0.6 I noticed some weird ticks with a project that I am currently in the middle of...most of which I worked around and was to be expected when you do a major update to a program in the middle of doing a project.
But the strangest of all: I used reverse clip several times...and I noticed that the clips that use reverse clip (before I updated and worked beautifully) are now choppy and in constant render. Constant render meaning the orange render bar is present above the clips that have reverse clip and do NOTHING. Even on the render status gauge it says 100% and the inspector says 100% and everything is idle...the orange bar is still there and is doing nothing. Also, the clip is now super choppy and acts as if it is in the middle of a complicated render.
I have a Mac Book Pro 2010 and have had the RAM upgraded to 8GB. My footage was shot with a Canon DSLR 60D at 23.98 fps. It shouldn't be that complicated of a render. Please help!Michael Grenadier wrote:

If I use the Shift Fields Filter on the clip, as Jim (thank you!) suggested, it works fine too.
Anyway, I'd like to understand why this happens. I checked the Motion preferences and I used PAL DV for that clip, that has Lower Field Dominance, and the same settings (same field dominance) I used for my FCP project and in Compressor so I really don't know...
More, I discovered the problem with the reverse clip. Again, I don't know why but in that clip there was the Shift Fields filter set to +1, but I'm quite sure I did not put it there... I just removed it and now it works fine too...

I am trying to authorise a new lap top for my itunes account. The instructions to me to open my itunes and go to Store then choose "Authorize this computor" or if using an older version of itunes to go to the Advanced menu. Neither of these two items appear under "Store" when I open itunes. Am I in the wrong "Store" as I cannot locate anything thing similar on the open itunes.

They did not mean the Store; they meant the Store menu on the iTunes menu bar! It is in a row with File, Edit, View, Controls, Store, and Help, as shown below.
If you don't see the menu bar, enable it by holding the CTRL key and pressing B. -
How can I create a hyperlink directly in the navigation menu using iWeb09?
I would like to add a URL to an external page in the navigation menu of my website using iWeb09. I have not been able to change the URL automatically generated by iWeb09 for each new page. The best I can do is to select text or an image that I want to link to the external page. I would rather create the hyperlink directly in the navigation menu. Is there a way of doing this?
Try this...
Create a blank internal page named "Link" (actually you can name the page whatever you want.) Then in that "Link" page add an HTML Snippet with the following code:

...Once published, clicking on "Link" in iWeb’s navbar will immediately redirect to the external page. (Thanks to Cyclosaurus for the code). -

The instruction page says to go to the Advanced menu option of ITunes and choose Home Sharing. This option does not exist. The closest I can find is under the File option>Home Sharing where my only option is to turn off home sharing. There is no home sharing icon and Apple TV insist that the home sharing is not turned on.

I need to authorize my computer for my daughter's new iPod Touch but in the new version of itunes that just upgraded to day there is no "store" menu or "advanced" menu that I can see and I can't see a way to do it. So anything she buys with her i.d. won't transfer. Help!
Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
