Reverse contact sync question

So I have office 2000 which is not compatible with iphone, so I entered every one of my contacts into the phone by hand. I am wondering if there is any program I can use to reverse sync the contacts back to my computer. I have outlook express, but was wondering if there was any thing else I could do?
Also, if it is even possible to do a reverse sync.
Thank you in advance

I will suggest you export all you contacts to "Windows Address Book" using iTunes. After that using "Outlook Express" export it to "WAB" file.
I think this would be the best option.

Um... I dont mean to sound stupid, but is there anyone who could give me steps on how to accomplish this? Where in itunes would I go? I kinda need some old step by step directions.

  • Outlook Exchange and Contact Sync, QUESTION!

We've just added iPad 2's to our sales force.  Prior we were just PC and Blackberry.  Now the team is using their own smartphones (some still have their Blackberry), an iPad and no longer have their company PC's.
In the past, if we entered contact information into outlook or the Blackberry, they of course automatically sync.  When activating company email on the iPad, all existing contacts synced to the iPad.
However, now upon entering a contact into the iPad, it no longer will Sync to the Blackberry..... BUT when you enter a contact into the Blackberry, it does transfer to the iPad.
    Whats happening here? LOL

As others have said in your other posts, no one here knows or can say what Apple is working on.

  • 2 Mail accounts Contacts sync question

My Wife has a list of contacts in her yahoo mail account, I have my Contacts in Windows Mail, is it possible for each of us to sync only our respective mail contacts ?  We have a lot of duplication right now with both accounts being synced to both phones.
    Thanks

1 - MERGING contacts between outlook and iphone. Meaning, when I bought the iphone, I imported contacts from outlook into the iphone on my first sync. But then I added some contacts through my iphone. there don't seem to be any settings to "merge" the two?
When syncing contact info the first time with a supported address book application on your computer that is being used - it includes contact info, and the iPhone includes contact info that was manually entered on the iPhone, a merge prompt is provided merging the data between the two.
When syncing contact info the first time with a supported address book application on your computer that is being used and the iPhone does not include any contact info, the contact info in the supported address book application on your computer is transferred to your iPhone.
After the initial sync with the supported application on your computer either way, contact info should be kept synchronized between the two. Enter a new contact in the supported address book application on your computer, the newly entered contact is transferred to your iPhone's address book when syncing. Enter a new contact in your iPhone's address book, the newly entered contact in your iPhone's address book is transferred to the supported address book application on your computer when syncing.
Were the contacts that you entered in your iPhone's address book not transferred to Outlook when syncing?
If so, are you using Outlook 2003 or 2007?
2 - In the same line, how do I make settings to give one priority over the other? Meaning, if I want my iphone to take SOLELY the contacts from my computer/etc ... I know on my palm there were all these options of which to give priority to/etc .... Thanks!!!
Under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences below the Advanced section, you can select Contacts for replace info on this iPhone followed by a sync. There is not an option to do the same in reverse.

  • Calendar and Contact Sync question

I have been playing around with my droid 2 global for about a month now and just decided to see if I could get the contacts in my phone synced to my gmail. I have a lot of phone numbers in my phone but are not in my gmail account. The question is can I send my contacts in my phone to my gmail account?  My assumption, just from what I have noticed, is that the droid 2 only has the ability to pull from the account not push to it. Is that a wrong assumption?
On to the calendar question. I have multiple calendars setup on my gmail account (mlb, nfl, college football, etc). For some reason the only calendar that syncs up is the US Holidays calendar. Is it possible to get the other calendars to sync with the droid calendar? If this is possible could someone please walk me through the process.
I have poked around on couple forums trying to solve these issue but have not seen anything addressing my questions, unless I have overlooked it.
    Thanks,

You are able to export your contacts and import them to your Gmail account. Below is a very good post that will provide you the steps to export the contacts using Backup Assistant and then import them to your Gmail account.
    http://community.vzw.com/t5/DROID-Incredible-by-HTC/export-contacts-to-gmail/m-p/285574/highlight/true#M12187
Please note, you must have Backup Assistant on your device to be able to export the contacts.
In regards to the calendar, you can view other calendars by following the steps listed below:
    1. Select the Calendar icon
    2. Select Menu
    3. Select More
    4. Select Calendars
    5. Select the calendars that you want to display

  • TS4062 Contact Sync Question - iPhone to Macbook Pro

I made a change to one of my contacts on my iPhone.  After I connected my iPhone to my Macbook Pro, started iTunes and clicked sync and allowed sync to finish, why does the change that I made not appear in the same contact on my Macbook address book?

    Hello jonhurd,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
iTunes 11 for Mac: Sync contacts, calendars, and other info with iPod, iPhone, or iPad
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12117
If you have problems syncing, try syncing only certain information. For example, deselect the Sync checkboxes on the Music, Photos, Podcasts, and Video panes, and try syncing only Info.
    Have a nice day,

  • Enterprise contacts sync question.

If you're syncing all your contacts through an enterprise server supported by your employer and then leave the company, will your contacts stay on your iphone or be removed when your profile is removed from the enterprise server?  If there's a chance of losing those contacts how can you save them before you're taken off the enterprise server?

  • Facebook contacts sync question

    Hi
I have had my iphone 4 for a week now, and have no problems with it.  However today I went into my phone contacts and all my facebook friends are listed there too. I REALLY hate this, and want them gone and just all the phone contacts I initially set up to remain.  How do I remove them?
    Thank you.

I've just realised this may have something to do with accessing I tunes on the phone yesterday.  I have the sync option in facebook turned off, its e-mail adresses that have come up in contacts.  I need rid of them!

  • Thunderbird Contacts sync question

Hi, I was really pleased to see that Ovi suite now supported Thunderbird, however I'm having trouble using it.I wonder if anyone can help please?
The first problem seems to be a result of Thunderbird collecting contacts i.e. if I send a company an email Thunderbird saves it in my address book under the My Contacts group, Ovi suite then seems to sync ALL contacts in all groups - so as well as good contacts (friends family etc who I have phone numbers for etc.) I end up with contacts in Ovi Suite who I only have email addresses for which I don't want on my mobile.
How can I automatically I only sync with one group?
Also, I then seemed to end up with a huge list of conflicts both of which I thought were valid, no idea why Ovi Suite thinks they are a conflict? How does Ovi Suite determine when something is a conflict?
    Thanks,
    Jeddy

  • ICloud contacts sync questions

Since I got an iPhone and followed the advice of the salesman at the Apple store, essentially to "Turn everything on" in iCloud, things have gotten hopelessly confused.
Both Address Book and Calendar now have seperate, (almost) duplicate sets of entries, titled "On my Mac" and "ICloud".   Making an entry in one place does not necessarily mean that it will show up in the other.
I want to keep a local copy of everything on all my devices, and I want them all to be the same.
I want to have a way to compare both lists and see what differences there are so I can reconcile them.
I have never had this problem with my old Android phone and my Google account!
Please, someone explain how "On my Mac" and "Icloud" interact and how I can get them properly synchronized.  I'm afraid to do anything at this point for fear of losing all my information!
    TIA
    Walt

Only data listed under 'iCloud' can sync - in fact it isn't actually syncing as such, because the data lives on the server and is read from there by your Mac and devices.
Data listed under 'On My Mac' is, as it says, on your Mac and is not connected to iCloud: therefore this data cannot be seen on the iCloud website or on other devices signed into iCloud.
The intention is that all your data should be kept on iCloud in order to facilitate syncin, and that you should not keep data listed under 'On My Mac'.

So at least since October 2008 there has been a lot of trouble with this Sync business on iPhone and iPod touches. In July 2009 the problem persists and no easy to find news from Apple on the issue.
I'm dreaming of the time where my Palm V used to do the job - a push of a button and synching is done - it's been like that for more than 10 years with that device. With Apple I was hoping to improve to photo synching - all I can do now is using the dreadful Windows Address book. I could also buy some Apple gear. But I won't yet since I think Apple should get it's software right on any platform - not just the one they built themselves.
What do you think - will there be a solution any time soon that helps fixing sync **** problems like the one describe above?

I know it may not make you feel any better, but I've not had any trouble with a 1st Generation or a 3G with syncing with Outlook 2003 or 2007. Both phones are still working flawlessly. Let me ask you as couple of questions about your problem. Is contact syncing the only thing that is not working? Have you been able to see your phone in iTunes and does Calendar sync?
For photos you mention, does the computer recognize the iPhone in My Computer under Scanners and Cameras? If so, you should be able to transfer photos the same way you do from any other digital camera. You would just use the same software you use for that purpose, or you can just click on the iPhone in the Scanner and Camera section and copy the photos from there.

  • Some contacts have question marks inserted

So I have been trying to find a happy solution for automatic syncing between my mac, my blackberry and google contacts.  I am trying to do this so that I can have two phones address books stay synced.  Unfortunately somewhere in trying to make this work a large portion of my contacts were changed.  The main change is that thy now have 2 question marks after the first name and after the last name of the contact.  Many of these also had question marks inserted after the street address, city, state and zip code.  I have gone through and edited out everything on my mac address book but I still get the question marks appearing on my blackberry when I resync.  I have tried missing sync, google sync, the blackberry sync program and they all end up transferring contacts with question marks

I have the same problem.  It's an issue with google sync and the blackberries.  I have yet to find a solution.  It's very frustrating because this makes voice dialing from my address book impossible.  I've tried editing the contacts, but that doesn't work either.  The only thing that works is creating the contact on the blackberry, but I am not going to do this for 150+ contacts, emails, phones, etc, etc...

  • Is Z10 able of 2 ways contacts Sync with Gmail?

    Guys,
Please help me with a contacts syncing matter. Is Z10 able to sync both ways to the device and from the device?
As I'm using gmail as bridge between Outlook and Z10 and as I saw is capable to sync one way from Gmail to phone but not  the reverse.
So, please let me know if I'm not aware of a settings or this is another issue of Z10.
It will be good for RIM to start solving these, otherwise I'll be one of the customers which will change the....team.
    Thanks!

    Yes -- just tested it.
When you add a contact on the phone by default it will link it to your Google account, local (not-synced) and the SIM card.  You can unlink from any of the ones you don't want interconnected.
It shows up instantly on Google's contacts.google.com page.

  • IOS contact sync direction

    Need help on this confusion.
Say I have an iPhone, didn't setup any email account, all contacts are manual keyin.
Now I have an iPad, I want to setup email account (say Yahoo mail) on this iPad, and turn on contact sync. Yahoo contacts are empty.
So when the setup is done on iPad, iPad contacts should be empty.
Then I setup the same on iPhone. Question:
Will existing contacts on iPhone be synced to Yahoo contacts then synced to iPad?
    Or they will be emptied?
I am helping elderly, don't expect they willI use computer or iTunes, all sync are done via email account if it supports contacts sync.
    Thanks.

You've basically answered your own question, as follows:
You are not using iCloud, nor are you using iTunes on a computer.  These are the two vehicles Apple primarily uses for sync.
Therefore, as you said, any sync that occurs would be in the hands of Yahoo, your email provider.  So it's really a question for them.  I would guess syncing is likely, but that's entirely up to Yahoo.

  • Wp8 contacts sync

Hello, I have a question. I have a Nokia Lumia 620 and my contacts sync to my Windows Live ID by default for some reason. I've noticed that any change made to my contacts in the Windows Live website is sync to the phone and if you disable the sync on the phone you istantly lose all your contacts, so I was asking myself what happens if I don't have any connection open like no wi-fi or data connection because I am abroad and I disable those connections for a long time like one month or even 6 months? Will I lose all my contacts on the phone like they had been deleted?!
Sorry for bothering but I am not aware how the Lumia is working! Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Because when there is no connection the sync relation is still there, albeit inactive. Deselecting the option in account settings removes the sync relation and thus removes the contacts (from the phone).
