Reverse conversion

I have met a Flashpapaer file on the net.
http://www.uvm.dk/minist/documents/raad.swf
I can grab it and downoad it to my pc. But I would like to
change it to the word document it was orginally. Is this possible?
I have tried to print it with a pdf-printer, but I only get a
pdf like a picture, in which I can't highlight text and copy it to
e.g. a spreadsheet.
Thanks,

  • 'DNG-back-to-X' or 'reverse conversion'. Do you think it's needed ?

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I still need to speak my mind
I believe a "reverse DNG converter" is not a convenience but a necessity.
I've come to the conclussion, from what I've observed since I use DNG myself, that having this converter would eliminate the two main reasons I find people still have to not use DNG.
The main fear I've observed is that A LOT of people have the impression that Adobe pretends to lure them into a trap, 'slaving' them to an Adobe format instead of their camera format : just a change of master, but remaining a slave just the same. Their reasoning is 'why change, there are no advantages freedom-wise'.
Added to this, a lack of real/full support of the DNG format in software outside of Adobe reinforces that perception: they feel they're forced to use an Adobe product from the day they start using DNG.
The other one is caused by disinformation : Most people believe they lose data in the process of conversion. This is also reinforced because all non-Adobe software fail to read the propietary info, maker notes, inside the DNG file.
A 'DNG-back-to-X' converter would end the discussion instantly. This would not only ensure them that they can go back at any time they wish, no harm done, but they could test if their data is conserved back-and-forth, finally understanding that no data is lost and that the only problem is software companies not fully understanding/supporting DNG.
They reason often given for not having this reverse converter is technical. I believe it can be done ... if Adobe wants to make a point having it done.
I'm no engineer, but I have the perception that though it may be difficult, they main reason for not having it done is that Adobe feels there's not enough benefit from it and their resources are better employed elsewhere.
With this message I just wan't to expose MY reasoning of why Adobe needs to address this.
What is your oppinion on what I've just said ? Do you think it would be a welcome tool ? Do you think it is technically possible to do it ?
Thanks for reading my poor excuse of an analysis

    JimHess:
I use DNG because, apart from the normal metadata cuestion, it saves me from having original and (multiple) final versions of the image. All the edit steps and therefore all the version of the image, can be contained within one single file.
It can do that for Lightroom, and it could do that for any other program that chose to save the processing steps inside the DNG file instead of on an internal database. For me it solves a lot of archiving problems.
BUT I need it to succeed, or all the advantages of using it now will turn into headaches in the future when no one apart from Adobe really supports it.
In your answer I find the same 'barrier against DNG spread' problem I'm talking about. DNG is, in each and every aspect, a better format than any propietary RAW file, and the benefits of having to manage just one format are many ... yet you don't find the need to use it as the main filetype in your workflow.
I believe that, if 'de-converting' were as easy and trivial as converting to DNG, you would indistinctly use any of them. Right now, as you said, have to be convinced to use DNG... because it has tradeoffs.
Being able to convert and de-convert would wipe any tradeoffs and need-to-be-convinced.
    Greg Barnett :
I obviously enjoy having better noise reduction and lens corrections too. But that can be done with many other tools.
DNG conversion and de-conversion foundations must be done by the 'fathers' of the format. It can't be done by anyone else, and it needs to be done or DNG will lack a solid and trustworthy roots to grow further.
Any doubt about being a wise move to convert to DNG or not must be erradicated in order to be adopted without remorses, and the most important step is, more important than denoising algorithms from my point of view, to tell everyone - you can trust us with your image, we are TRULY open, we won't held your images hostages, you are free using DNG and here's the proof.

  • Rgb to CIE LAB and reverse

In Imaq there is a Vi  called rgbtocolor2.vi that is useful to convert an RGB into Cie lab color code. Is there another vi in order to convert a color in the CIE lab color space into RGB ?

I'm pretty sure there isn't a VI to do the reverse conversion, so you'll need to code it yourself.  The NI implementation of La*b* seems to be a little non-standard - see http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/La-b-colour-conversion/td-p/1646458 - I think the issue is that LabVIEW doesn't do a gamma correction, whereas most other software does.

  • RGB to CIE lab conversion

    Hi All,
I want to convert an RGB image into CIE lab color space. I found a program here on the forum.
I am attaching it with the post.  Run the program test0.vi on the sample image.
I am able to convert the image into lab space however the VI is taking too much time to execute.
    Is there a faster implementation?
    Thank You.

  • Creation of New Company code

    Hi,
The customer has asked to create a Company code, i have created it.
I have maintained the required Configuration in Enterprise structure, Financial accounting Global setting, General ledger Accounting.
i can do the posting to this Co.code in FB01.
Now, do i need to do anything in Controlling for this New Co.code?
And also, Please explain what is " Cross-system Company codes"?
because while doing posting in FB01, i got error that, the Cross-system Company codes ia not maintained. so i have maintained it in Global Organization Units.
    Thanks,
    Vidya

    Dear Vidya,
    Definition
Cross-system company codes are used in the distribution in financial accounting. There is exactly one central system for each cross-system company code in the distributed environment. One company code has to be assigned to this cross-system company code on each system involved in the distribution.
When sending an I-Doc with company code-dependent data, the company code is replaced with the cross-system company code in all company code fields. When receiving this kind of IDoc the reverse conversion takes place on the target system.
In this section you maintain the cross-system company codes and allocate them to the local company codes.
    Recommendation
The use of cross-system company codes and business areas in distributed financial accounting is a provisional measure. SAP reserves the right to replace this in a future release with a tool that allows a conversion for all the organizational units of the SAP system.
Therefore SAP recommends that you choose consistent identifiers for the company code and the cross-system company code.
    Activities
    1. Create a cross-system company code.
    2. Assign the cross-system company code to a chart of accounts to which it is also assigned on the central system.
This setting is needed on the decentral systems in order to determine the chart of accounts of the company code on the central system.
    3. Assign cross-system company codes to the local company codes.
Specify the identifiers of the relevant cross-system company codes for each of the individual company codes.

  • Any way to convert PDF document in to Tiff format with inbuilt IBR features

Is there any way to convert PDF document in to Tiff format with inbuilt IBR features?
In our Webcenter Portal app, we create the PDF document with the content of ADF pages and check it in UCM using RIDC api.
There will some batch job which will retrieve the documents from UCM and send them to client internal Document management system. The client / batch job will only process TIFF files. So we need a way to convert the PDF into TIFF. We are okie to have both PDF and TIFF stored in UCM.
When i have done research, i could only see components like PDFexport or TIFFConverter which only converts the other formats into PDF. But i am expecting a reverse conversion. Is it possible ? Thanks

  • Adobe 9 Pro opening PDF's in another program

I am running Windows XP SP3. I received an obvious excel file, that is basically a provider directory, that has been PDF'ed. I am now trying to open in Excel so that I can manipulate the file. Is there a type of reverse conversion button, or good way to do this. When I try to open in MS Excel 2007, and I select delimited, it does not convert properly.
    All help is appreciated.
    Thanks

You should ask the person who created the PDF to send you the original XLS
Acrobat is designed to convert an editable "fluid" document into a "static" document for viewing and printing
Going back to an edit version is not so easy, since that is not what the process is designed to do
You might, in Acrobat, be able to open a PDF and extract information and save it as an XLS... but, according to previous messages I have read, the process does not always work very well

  • Global Company Code

    Hi All,
While we transfer documents for customer Master and vendor Master and bank Master through ALE then it requires for 'Global Company code' which I have to assign under Company code global parameters.
Can anyone explain me for what reason this customization required and will it affect any other  R/3 customization?
    Kindly clear my doubts.
    Thanks & Regards
    Ajoy

Even if you do not have Special Purpose Ledger functionality, if you need to transfer company-code specific data between system using ALE (IDocs), you will have to define global company code (also called as cross-system company code) and assign it to company code.  Read the following SAP IMG activity documentation.
There are global organizational units which must be named the same in all systems to avoid any errors occurring in the distributed environment. Local organizational units are assigned to global organizational units in the individual systems.
There are global organizational units for the organizational units:
    Company code
    Business area
If you want to use ALE, you have to assign the local organizational units to the global organizational units in your systems to ensure that they are used consistently in the distributed environment.
Cross-system company codes are used in the distribution in financial accounting. There is exactly one central system for each cross-system company code in the distributed environment. One company code has to be assigned to this cross-system company code on each system involved in the distribution.

  • Java swing program

Windows-based Java program that can perform currency conversion for the user. The program will give the user the ability to enter the desired amount to convert, the currency type to convert from and to and a button to invoke the conversion. The program should also provide the user a separate dialog to set the conversion rates between each possible currency combination. The program should handle conversions between dollars, pounds and euros.
    •     The program must offer the user three ways to submit the conversion request: a button, a menu item (described below), or hit the Enter key after entering the amount in the transfer text field.
    •     The menu item method must display a new dialog with all necessary fields to accomplish the conversion. When complete, the menu item window must disappear and its results will be displayed on the main window.
    •     The text field indicating the amount to convert must allow the user to input the values in units and cents. Also, all display values must be in units and cents.
    •     A separate menu item that opens a dialog must be provided to set the conversion rates. The default values when the program starts should be randomly generated between 1.00 and 2.00. Reverse conversions should be the inverse of the opposite conversion.
    •     The program must also provide a button to select an amount to convert that is randomly generated between 1,000 and 2,000 in units and cents.

  • Setting up KM reporsitories in DBFS mode

    Hi All,
Thank you for your support for my previous questions.
I need to set up the KM CM repositories in DBFS mode. I had this earlier in DB mode. I came to know i can migrate the documents from DB mode to DBFS mode using content crawler report.
I need some clarification before i start up with the process.
    1. Is there any links/articles or Blog for setting up in DBFS a step by step approach.
    2. In addition to content crawler report, is there any additional steps to do like Indexing..
    3. When the contents are migrated from DB mode, does the actual content is moving to file system or a copy is done? Does the DB size will reduce after that?
This questions will help a lot for proceeding in changing the persistence. As reverse conversion is not possible, some detailed preparation will help me.
    thanks,
    Senthilkumar

    Hi Senthilkumar,
    Sorry for a late reply.
In DB persistence, does it advisable to store around 50 K or more documents?
I know only one restriction recommendation for DB mode regarding an amount of documents: do not store more than 1000 files in a single folder.  According to Note 900571 DBFS and DB do not restrict the maximum amount of the resources (Folders, documents).
As per SAP recommendations for larger quantity, DBFS should be used right.
It is not correct. The DBFS mode is faster than the database mode if you have large documents. But if there is a large number of write requests in your CM usage scenario, I believe it is true due to the nature of Collaboration Rooms, set up the CM repository in database mode (refer to [CM Repository Manager|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/62/468698a8e611d5993600508b6b8b11/frameset.htm]).
Does the room extension CM comes under SAP standard delivery?
    Yes, for sure.
    What about old 400 rooms?
If you decide to use DBFS for new rooms, I suggest analyzing the current and possible usage of old rooms in short-term future at first. Maybe some of them are subject for removal and you may leave the rest as is.
    Best regards,

  • Output lengt 0

    Hi
When I read the table PA0008 into a variable it gets output_length 0.
Whit table PA0000 there is no problem..
What can this be? The data in both tables looks the same..
If the output_length = 0 I write it to a variable using this function:
    DESCRIBE FIELD <temp> OUTPUT-LENGTH o_len.
          IF o_len = 0.
            CALL METHOD cl_abap_container_utilities=>fill_container_c
              EXPORTING
                im_value               = <temp>
              IMPORTING
                ex_container           = output_tab-data
              EXCEPTIONS
                illegal_parameter_type = 1
                OTHERS                 = 2.
But when I write the variable to a file I get all kinds of strange signs in the file like    ‡&

    Hi Bert,
I have reread the topic from the beginning. In fact, you have contents in your structure when you are looping at the table
then you convert it into character via container class
    then you write to file
as you converted some (numeric) fields it is normal that you get strange characters in your file - this is due to conversion of bytes into characters
I think if you upload the file again and apply the reverse conversion using the container class you will get the correct values in your structure
now if you need to have "readable" fields in your file you should consider using a legacy mode for writing your file or another conversion than the one you use currently

  • Language specific characters with JDBC

Does anybody know how to insert language specific characters to Oracle tables using JDBC and without the overhead of unicode conversion back and forth?
At the moment, all we can do is to convert those characters to unicode when inserting, and perform a reverse conversion when getting back from a resultset. This is cumbersome in large text data.
Is there a way to configure the RDBMS and/or the operating system for this purpose? We are using Oracle 7.3.4 on Windows NT 4.0 SP5, Oracle JDBC Driver 8.1.6, and Java Web Server 2.0 (JDBC 1.0 compliant). Suggestions for Oracle 8.1.6 and Solaris 2.6 will also be appreciated.
