Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner

Hello,
We have a client with an SLS who is configured to send mail using the ISP as relay. With this situation, the server-side mail rules (vacation notices) are not working.
So, I need to configure the server to use DNS to send mail. The client has one public static IP, in the form of client.static.isp.gr. ISP refuses to change the PTR for a single IP, so when I check the server using mxtoolbox.com, I get +Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner+.
In MS Exchange, you can set the "Internet e-mail name" and change the default SMTP banner.
How can I change the SMTP banner in Postfix? (in order to put the ISPs PTR for the static IP).
Regards
Kostas

Kostas B. has been tussling with other issues ("ISP refuses to change the PTR for a single IP") and this is unrelated to the configuration of Mail itself, from what I can tell of it. He's really trying to do something that the ISP involved isn't supporting, and that's more of an administrative or ISP issue and less of a technical issue.
As for your question (and presuming your public-facing DNS forward and reverse translations are correct and your MX record is correct, details which are not yet in evidence), launch Server Admin and set your mail server host name in the mail configuration. Server Admin > select server > Mail > general > fill in your internet-facing host name. This name should matche your public DNS MX record, and your public forward and reverse DNS translations should (also) match.
And as a general rule, please don't thread-jack. That largely serves to confound and confuse the discussions.

  • Warning - Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner

I have a installed in exchange server 2013 in the Home network. Everything looks fine. But Reserve DNS was not setup properly.  Reverse DNS is not matching with my domain. "Reverse
DNS does not contain the hostname" when I checked in MXToolBox.com
I have configured FQDN on port 25 to mail.xxxxx.com. I don't know what else need to configure as Iam new to exchange.
Can some give me some steps to do this?

Reverse DNS (aka PTR record) is something set at your ISP level, not on your Exchange server. If you have a static IP from your provider you should be able to contact them (or log into the ISP's portal) to change the reverse DNS. If you have a dynamic IP
(meaning you didn't pay extra for a static) you will be unable to set your reverse DNS.
The implication's of not having a matching reverse DNS is that many email providers will not allow you to send them email (ex. aol.com, hotmail.com). I am actually in the same boat (on a dynamic IP) but I set up my Exchange to send all my email through a
spam filter service. If you send through a reputable spam filter you should have no issues sending to any email providers (even though reverse DNS checks will still fail).

  • Forward DNS does not match reverse dns

    Hi ALl
I have a fixed IP address via BT.
When I type the IP address into MxToolbox or similar i get this warning:
    BT-UK-AS BTnet UK Regional network
Reverse DNS (PTR) exists and claimes to be: mail.concept-plc.com
Forward DNS for mail.concept-plc.com is: xx.xxx.xxx.xx
Should I be worried about this and if so who do i contact to do anything about it! Concept PLC seem to be a real company.
Are we sharing a fixed IP address?
    Thanks for any help.

  • OS X 10.4.11 Server - configured name and reverse DNS do not match / DNS

    Hi all,
I have looked for similar posts but all seem to have different scenarios, hoping to get an answer from someone more experienced than myself before I do anything silly.
    Help much appreciated!
    Scenario:
We run a 10.4.11 OS X Server on an XServe, hosted at an ISP. ISP provides all DNS services, incl. the reversed DNS entry.
I am currently only running the following services (based on the display in ServerAdmin):
    AFP
    Firewall
    iChat
    Mail
    QuickTimeStreaming
    Web
All others (incl. DNS) are grayed out. (As ISP instructed us not to add a DNS service on our box, that's "normal" according to my experiences with dedicated /co-location server hosting).
We never used changeip after the initial setup, meaning the server's
    Current Hostname = somename.local and
    DNS Hostname = mail.ourdomainname.net
So in system.log I find this re-occuring entry:
Jul 8 11:41:22 somename servermgrd: servermgr_dns: configured name and reverse DNS name do not match (somename.local != mail.ourdomainname.net), various services may not function properly - use changeip to repair and/or correct DNS
    Finally, my question:
As Mail and Web services etc. are currently running OK from what I can tell,
    1) do I HAVE to change this at all?
    2) Would it be much better / why?
    3) Could I change this using the following command
(111.11.111.1 indicating the server's IP address)
    changeip 111.11.111.1 111.11.111.1 somename.local mail.ourdomainname.net
    4) without running a DNS server on the machine, i.e. DNS service is not required for this to work?
    5) obviously I want to be able to use Server Admin after I issue this command...
    6) can I fall back easily in case this would screw it up, or is there no risk whatsoever doing this in my case?
THANK YOU so much for any help!

    Hi Jonas
If port 443 is already being used on the same box as KMS then it will complain and probably not start the service? I've seen this with LDAP port 636. This is when Kerio is installed on a server configured as an OD Master. Clearly the port can't be used by both servers.
It might be easier to change the port your sites are currently using to something else? Although don't do anything yet. Pose the question to Kerio Support and see what advice they offer.
Yes moving the mail to a local folder on the mail client will do it.
Is Kerio going on the same box? If its a different box (presumably different IP address?) Then what you can do is to port forward to the new server's IP address instead of disabling it. This way while you are bringing the new server on line users can still send mail right up until the time you give instructions on changing their inbound/outbound mail server details. Of course they won't be able to receive but if you time it right they may not even get an error message? Depends on what their schedules are.
If it was me I would choose IMAP every time. As the mail admin you have full control and a central location for easy backup. KMS has a built in archiving feature that makes this a simple process. This is an easier option than going round individual client machines and making sure mail held locally in POP accounts are backed up. Besides there is always someone who falls through the loop and I'm not taking into account drive failures. It makes good sense anyway as there is talk of legislation being introduced to make this a requirement for businesses who run their own mail servers. This is certainly true for certain parts of the US and what usually happens there is generally taken up in the UK and most parts of Europe.
Kerio's WebMail Client means users don't even have to have their own computer. Just as long as they have access to one that has access to the internet they can send/receive mail. No need for dedicated mail applications such as Apple Mail, Thunderbird, Entourage etc. How mail is uses remains consistent for all users.
Yes. I did this not so long ago with Leopard's built in Mail Server. I sent an e-mail defining a time when no inbound mail would be received. Disabled port forwarding for SMTP port 25 and approx 30 minutes after that another mail stating no outbound mail should be sent. Once everything was swopped over (we were changing from a G4 10.4 server to a G5 10.5 Server) port 25 was enabled, new server brought online and everyone was mailing again with no appreciable downtime.
These boxes were to have the same IP address hence the slightly different approach.
    Does this help?

  • Outgoing SMTP displayed in message does not match SMTP in list

I'm using OS 10.4.3 and Mail 2.0.5. In my Mail Preferences I've specified an outging server. When I try to send mail I get an error message that Mail can't send a message using the specified server. The server listed in the error message is NOT on my list (of one) and I don't get the opportunity to select another server. This is a new problem, started yesterday. Sigh. Any help greatly appreciated.

  • "Name on the Security Certificate is Invalid or Does not Match..." using Outlok 2007 w/ Exchange 2007

    Good afternoon!
We just completed our Exchange 2007 implementation (migration from Exchange 2003... a fun romp of 24 straight hours for the final push) and noticed an error that only occurs on Outlook 2007 clients connecting to the Exchange 2007 server: "Name on the Security Certificate is Invalid or Does Not Match the Name on the Certificate".
Now, I've done my reading into this and have determined that due to how Outlook 2007 clients managed their OAB, it is essentially through a web virtual directory now, no longer through Public Folders and this is essentially the base of our issue. See, our mail server has an internal FQDN of mail.ourdomain-domain.com whereas it has an external FQDN (which is what the SSL Cert is tied to) of owa.ourdomain.com.
So, essentially what I'm seeing is our internal Outlook 2007 clients (limited to I.S. employees only right now, thankfully) are seeing this SSL error because Outlook 2007 is trying to pick up the OAB using the internal FQDN instead of the external FQDN (which would work as well, due to some internal DNS trickery we have configured).
My question is (finally), is there a way to circumvent this internally so we never see this SSL error prompt or a way to force Outlook 2007 to use the external FQDN? I have made sure all the settings in Exchange Management Console for OAB and the like have both the internal and external FQDN set to owa.ourdomain.com (the valid SSL name), but it does not appear to have made a difference. Granted, I have not rebooted... but I do not think that is necessary in this instance.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!

    Hi All,
    1) I am using Windows SBS Server 2008 with Exchange 2007 installed on it. With all the Certicate configured internally. We haven’t purchased the Certificate from any outside authority yet.
    2) Also, user were getting Error message "The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site" in outlook, to resolve this issue I followed the steps mention on "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940726" &  “http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrclients/thread/697f79e2-ca8f-4a2e-bae5-55d3fa7f703f/?prof=required” however I was able run only first command as I was unable to find "EWS (Default Web Site)", "oab (Default Web Site)", "unifiedmessaging (Default Web Site)".
    3) After reaserching, I run following commands to get the status, location of WebServicesVirtualDirectory, OABVirtualDirectory & UMVirtualDirectory
    [PS] C:\Windows\System32>Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory | fl
Name                          : EWS (SBS Web Applications)
    Server                        : PASVR01
    InternalUrl               : https://sites/EWS/Exchange.asmx
    ExternalUrl              :
    [PS] C:\Windows\System32>Get-OABVirtualDirectory | fl
Name                          : OAB (SBS Web Applications)
    Server                        : PASVR01
    InternalUrl               : https://sites/OAB
    ExternalUrl              :
    [PS] C:\Windows\System32>Get-UMVirtualDirectory | fl
Name                          : UnifiedMessaging (SBS Web Applications)
    Server                        : PASVR01
    InternalUrl               : https://sites/UnifiedMessaging/Service.asmx
    ExternalUrl               :
    4) Then after getting the correct locations of all the directory I run the following commands to change the internal url on existing Certs
    Set-ClientAccessServer -Identity PASVR01 -AutodiscoverServiceInternalUri https://pasvr01/owa/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
Set-WebServicesVirtualDirectory -Identity "PASVR01\EWS (SBS Web Applications)" -InternalUrl https://pasvr01/owa/ews/exchange.asmx
Set-OABVirtualDirectory -Identity "PASVR01\OAB (SBS Web Applications)" -InternalUrl https://pasvr01/owa/oab
Set-UMVirtualDirectory -Identity "PASVR01\UnifiedMessaging (SBS Web Applications)" -InternalUrl https://pasvr01/owa/unifiedmessaging/service.asmx
    5) However, this does'nt resolved our issue so run the following commands to change the external url on existing Certs
Set-WebServicesVirtualDirectory -Identity "PASVR01\EWS (SBS Web Applications)" -ExternalUrl https://exchange.domain.com/owa/ews/exchange.asmx
Set-OABVirtualDirectory -Identity "PASVR01\OAB (SBS Web Applications)" -ExternalUrl https://exchange.domain.com/owa/oab
Set-UMVirtualDirectory -Identity "PASVR01\UnifiedMessaging (SBS Web Applications)" -ExternalUrl https://exchange.domain.com/owa/unifiedmessaging/service.asmx
    6) I also tried running "New-ExchangeCertificate -PrivateKeyExportable $True -Services “IMAP, POP, IIS, SMTP” -SubjectName “cn=PASVR01" as I have deleted one of the certicate on this server in past.
    7) Following was the status of internal and external URL.
    [PS] C:\Windows\System32>Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory | fl
Name                          : EWS (SBS Web Applications)
    Server                        : PASVR01
    InternalUrl               : https://pasvr01/owa/ews/exchange.asmx
    ExternalUrl              : https://exchange. exchange.domain.com /owa/ews/exchange.asmx
    [PS] C:\Windows\System32>Get-OABVirtualDirectory | fl
Name                          : OAB (SBS Web Applications)
    Server                        : PASVR01
    InternalUrl               : https://pasvr01/owa/oab
    ExternalUrl              : https://exchange. exchange.domain.com/owa/oab
    [PS] C:\Windows\System32>Get-UMVirtualDirectory | fl
Name                          : UnifiedMessaging (SBS Web Applications)
    Server                        : PASVR01
    InternalUrl                   : https://pasvr01/owa/unifiedmessaging/service.asmx
    ExternalUrl                   : https://exchange. exchange.domain.com/owa/unifiedmessaging/service.asmx
    10) Still we are facing this issue of "The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site" in outlook.
PLEASE HELP ME TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.
    Thanks in Advance,

  • Outlook 2010 Certificate does not match

I have a problem with a new installation of Exchange 2013 on a Windows 2012 Server.  Most of the clients are Outlook 2010.
All the internal users are getting the error message:
"There is a problem with the proxy server's certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site exchange2013.myinternaldomain.local
This is shortly followed by another box "the name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site"
Of course the issue is my purchased SSL certificate is MAIL.REALDOMAIN.ORG  while the server's name is exchange2013.myinternaldomain.local
With Exchange 2010 servers I have deployed I have had success following KB article 940726 but this time it didn't fix it with Exchange 2013.
    There must be a solution!
    I found this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2783881   the first suggestion from MS were impractical and the registry edit didn't work either (plus the thought of going to all my clients to do a registry
    fix doesn't make me happy!)
I tried creating a local DNS zone for my external domain name and pointing to the internal IP but that didn't fix it.
In the ECP under the Outlook Anywhere section --  "*Specify the internal host name such as contoso.com that users will use to connect
to your organization:"  I changed the internal host name to the external .org address but this caused Outlook clients internally not to work.
I used the -AutodiscoverServiceInternalUrl command to point it to the .org address on the certificate but didn't work either.
I have a service record in both external and internal DNS pointing to the mail.realdomain.org address.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!
    Mike

Thanks for the information. I actually finally got this resolved a few weeks ago by speaking directly with a Microsoft technician. I am going to post what finally fixed my problem with the hopes that it will help others in my position.
Again, the problem which I am sure is common is a .local domain internally and a "real" domain on the outside.  The solution that the MS tech had me do was to simply point EVERYTHING both internally and externally to the external host name - the one that
    matched the certificate I had.
I'm surprised this solution isn't found elsewhere - it seems so obvious.
He had me run an number of commandlets which I will post here - with the caveat that they were for my environment! (I've masked my real domain name and substituted - mydomainame.org)
Set-Webservicesvirtualdirectory -Identity "EXCHANGE2013\ews (Default Web Site)" -InternalURl
    https://mail.mydomainname.org/ews/exchange.asmx
    Set-OutlookProvider EXCH -CertPrincipalName msstd:mail.mydomainname.org
    Set-OutlookProvider EXPR -CertPrincipalName msstd:mail.mydomainname.org
Set-OutlookAnywhere -Identity "EXCHANGE2013\Rpc (Default Web Site)" -InternalHostName "mail.mydomainname.org" -InternalClientsRequireSsl $True -InternalClientAuthenticationMethod NTLM
Set-Webservicesvirtualdirectory -Identity "EXCHANGE2013\ews (Default Web Site)" -InternalURl
    https://mail.mydomainname.org/ews/exchange.asmx
Set-OutlookAnywhere -Identity "EXCHANGE2013\Rpc (Default Web Site)" -ExternalHostName "mail.mydomainname.org" -ExternalClientsRequireSsl $True -InternalClientAuthenticationMethod NTLM  --ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod NTLM -IISAuthenticationMethods
    Basic, NTLM, Negotiate
    Set-OutlookProvider EXCH -CertPrincipalName msstd:mail.mydomainname.org
    Set-OutlookProvider EXPR -CertPrincipalName msstd:mail.mydomainname.org
Set-OutlookAnywhere -Identity "EXCHANGE2013\Rpc (Default Web Site)" -InternalHostName "mail.mydomainname.org" -InternalClientsRequireSsl $True -InternalClientAuthenticationMethod NTLM
The last thing we did was ADD in DNS on the internal DNS server the mail.mydomainname.org and point it my Exchange Server private IP (192.168.1.2)  If you do the whole host name and not just mydomainame.org it wont mess up access to say an external
    website.
    hope this helps!

  • General ledger does not match profit and loss for current year

Closed 2008 and it created some unexpected journal entries. These JEs show up as beginning balances in the 2009 GL. Also net income does not match profit for current period on balance sheet. Tried reversing the unexpected journal entries and this caused the 2009 retained earnings to be more out of balance. How do I fix this?

As far i understand you have done Balance Carry Forward by FAGLGVTR.
and your opening balance in next year is not correct as desire in Retain earning account.
If the case so then kindly check that you have transfer amount from retain earning account to and reserve account in previous year.

    Three words.
    You are doomed.
Whatever you end up doing will not be serialization. It will be reverse engineering of a old (dead) format that could go all pear shaped on you when you least expect it. One of the worst problems in using a solution where you reverse engineer, try and guess hackery your way through a proprietary semi (or totally) undocumented format is that it is really impossible to test your code with any degree of certainty. Does your code actually work? Or does it only work because you haven't seen some totally unexpected (but legal for the format) format yet?
Get the producer to produce XML instead of "serialized" data. This is a much better route for you to go down.
If you decide to keep on your path then grab a DataInputStream and go somewhere else because you'll have to figure out the format of another languages serialized data on a place that isn't this site.

  • Explaining a WD Error: "Entity Instance Does Not Match Expected Entity"

    Hello,
I'm wondering if someone can help me understand what is causing a persistent web server error that seems to be related to entities and/or instance creation. Lately, after building with screens and clicking on the top-level goal, I'll get this generic error:
An error occurred trying to process your request.
This error has been logged and is available in the application logs.
For support and assistance please contact [email protected].
I then check the Embedded Web Server Output, and see the text pasted at the bottom of this post - the key error seeming to be "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Entity instance does not match expected entity".
    Observations:
    - It seems to occur after I've made some significant changes to my data model: merging two entities, or switching relationships to being inferred.
    - There are no errors or warnings in the "Error List" and all documents are compiling successfully.
    - It only happens when I build with screens. I can 'build', or 'build and debug' without screens successfully.
    - The most recent occurrence was after I had converted a few relationships to "Inferred" and resolved all compiling errors.
    - It only occurs after clicking on the top-level goal, and sometimes a few screens afterwards. By switching most of my relationships back to non-inferred (except for one), I've been able to get some of the screens working - up until I arrive at the screen that involves creating instances for the second entity involved in the remaining inferred relationship.
    - The remaining inferred relationship that I was suspecting as a cause seems to be working correctly (i.e. I can see that the instances were connected in the Data tab, even after the error has appeared in the web output).
I would be very grateful for any assistance with this error, as it's become somewhat of a time sink and I've already tried a few angles for troubleshooting it.
    Thanks!
    - Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
The bad news is that your issue is due to a bug in the Determinations Engine. The good news is that there is a workaround. Basically there’s an implied directionality for all relationships which, for inferred relationships is defined by the direction in which you declared the relationship in the properties file. The problem only happens if you write your membership rule in the reverse direction to the one in which it was originally declared. In your case because your membership rule concludes the relationship ‘the benefits of the benefit plan’ you need to make sure that your relationship was declared in that direction as well. To do that, you’ll need to delete your existing relationship in the properties file and then create it as follows:
    Source: the benefit plan
    Target: the benefit
Relationship Type: Inferred (Many to Many)
Text: the benefits of the benefit plan
Reverse Text: the benefit plan of the benefit
We will fix the issue in the next release.
    Thanks,
    Kristy

  • The Bonjour name does not match the host name

I changed the host name of a Mac Mini Server (OS X 10.8.5, Server 2.2.2) but then I got the email "The Bonjour name xxx-server does not match the host name yyy-server.local).
How do I fix it?  (Appreciate for detailed steps.)

The Bonjour name is separate from the DNS host name, and you're hopefully not serving the .local domain from your own DNS server within OS X Server.  That can cause problems.
The Bonjour name is assigned by  > System Preferences > Sharing.
If you want to see the three names assigned, launch Terminal.app from Applications > Utilities and enter the following three commands (some example output shown for each command) (do not enter the $ signs shown in the following; that's the command prompt):
    $ scutil --get ComputerName
    myhost
    $ scutil --get HostName
    myhost.example.com
    $ scutil --get LocalHostName
    myhost
    $
Post the output from the three, and we'll have a look.  If you want or need to obfuscate, please do so consistently.  Example.com (as shown above) is a good choice for an obfuscated domain, too.

  • Server name SSL does not match subject of certificate Server-Cert

Sun Java System Web Server 7.0U1 B06/12/2007 22:13
We see the following warning in the startup log everytime. We have been ignoring this for awhile now since SSL is working fine and browsers don't complain. But recently we found some mobile browsers are not happy with our SSL pages. So we are thinking this may be the casue.
warning ( 3256): CORE1251: On HTTP listener http-listener-2, server name SSL does not match subject "www.ourdomain.com" of certificate Server-Cert.
What does this warning really mean? Do we need to rename the server name "SSL" to match the domain name?
    Thanks

AFAIK That warning is a result of the fact that the hostname doesn't match the certificate.
The cert has a Common Name (CN) attribute of the certificate's Subject Name or Subject Alternative Name (SAN) of type DNS name
should match with the server's DNS name.
    hostname == machines name
I don't know if we need to change the instances server name as well.
I will try on my machine and and will let you know.
Are you sure this warning is the source of your problem? Look at what Joe has written :
"If most of your users are not getting browsers complaining of a mis-match then this is likely not the source of your mobile device problem."
Which mobile model and browsers are you getting complains from? We can try testing it here.

  • Any idea what this errorr means? the data type of the reference does not match the data type of the variable

I am using Veristand 2014, Scan Engine and EtherCat Custom Device.  I have not had this error before, but I was trying to deploy my System Definition File (run) to the Target (cRio 9024 with 6 modules) and it failed. It wouldn't even try to communicate with the target. I get the 'connection refused' error.
I created a new Veristand project
I added the Scan Engine and EtherCat custom device.
I changed the IP address and auto-detected my modules
i noticed tat Veristand didn't find one of my modules that was there earlier. (this week)
So, i went to NiMax to make sure software was installed and even reinstalled Scan Engine and Veristand just to make sure.
Now, it finds the module, but when i go to deploy it getsto the last step of deploying the code to the target, and then it fails.
    Any thoughts?

Can you deploy if you only have the two 9401 modules in the chassis (no other modules) and in the sysdef?  I meant to ask if you could attach your system definition file to the forum post so we can see it as well (sorry for the confusion).
Are you using any of the specialty configurations for the 9401 modules? (ex: counter, PWM, quadrature, etc)
You will probably want to post this on the support page for the Scan Engine/EtherCAT Custom Device: https://decibel.ni.com/content/thread/8671
Custom devices aren't officially supported by NI, so technical questions and issues are handled on the above page.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 site server client installation error: The client version 5.00.7958.1000 does not match the MP version 5.00.7804.1000.

    Hello,
When I try to install the client on the site server itself it gives me this error message and fails the ccmsetup. I only have this on the site server. Clients to other servers and computers are pushed fine. If I check the version of the MP it says 5.00.7958.1000
in ADSI. I removed the MP object in CN=System, CN=System Management. Waited for it to be regenerated automatically by SCCM but the installation doesn't work still.
I tried to install with several methods including directly from ccmsetup.exe in ccmsetup folder, pushing by sccm itself, running from commandline, ...
I run SCCM 2012 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and the database on SQL 2008 on Server 2008 R2

I agree with Idan. You can easily remove the Management Point Site System role and add it again with no adverse effect. This should solve your problem.

  • Server failed to start: The domain path does not match the running server

    Hi,
I've configured Eclipse to run my local weblogic - which actually is working fine.
The server starts as intended and reaches state RUNNING.
As soon as this happens, OEPE tries to validate the server and compares the identified server's configuration to the expected configuration.
This finally results into the error message shown in the subject -- though server is still running.
!MESSAGE Server watcher[Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 PatchSet 1 at localhost]:The domain path does not match the running server.
Domain RootDirectory retrieved from the MBean of running server is: N:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\USER_P~1\domains\MYWEBL~1\
Domain RootDirectory of this server: N:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\myWeblogicServer
Obviously this seems to be an issue with the length of the directory and file names. The domain's configuration and all its start scripts do not have any 8+3 pathes, like USER_P~1 for user_projects. Nevertheless the MBean of the server returns such a "truncated" path which in turn is invalid for OEPE.
Fix: When setting up the domain in Eclipse, try using that 8+3 representation of the domain's location. Then the comparison will succeed...
My Question: Where do we need to ask for a fix in OEPE? The 8+3 path is still a valid one ...
    Best Regards
    Philipp

I haven't been able to reproduce this and 8+3 representation of the domain's location shouldn't be required.
    Can you provide more information:
    - is this a network drive?
    - what is your OS: XP, Vista, Win7?
    - what is the Windows file system type, is it FAT or NTFS
    - Can you try install WLS on C:, e.g. C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects and see if it still happens?
