Reverse Image or Invert Image?
I am missing how to do this in Fireworks. I have some images
from my camera which, when viewed in FW CS3, are reversed in that
the words on the picture and image are viewed properly from the
behind the computer screen, if that were possible.
Do you know how to reverse or invert the image? Thanks in
advance.

Sent a PDF to the newspaper printer and some of the images had inverted/strange colors. However...
In one case I had duplicate images of a pink vector flower. SOME of the flowers were inverted, to a dark blue/black, and some were fine(pink). These were embedded vectors.
In other instances vectors, went from orange to blue/black, pink to blue/black, and yellow/white to blue black. I specify because in one vector image, a ring, the ring was yellow, but the diamond was white, and it all changed to the same blue/black in print.
Finally, there were two greyscale Tiff photographs of a pair of ladies. These are not embedded, and have not been altered at all and since the last time this paper has been printed, (which printed fine). This time, they were inverted. Nothing else on the page was inverted.
As far as I can tell, there is not a separation issue, and I have saved the file from InDesign CC to pdf using the same settings as dozens of times before. The pdf on my end looks fine. The printer says they just print what they receive, but as far as I can tell, there is no issue on our end. The fact that some duplicated images printed fine, and others did not seem to confirm this. Everything is properly linked. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is this a pdf, InDesign, or even an adobe problem at all, or it is something on their end? I have heard of inverted colors before, but can't find a solution (especially as I can't even see the problem on my end.)
Using Windows 8, up-to-date InDesign CC, and Acrobat Pro, Illustrator CS6 ver.16.2.0 64bit
I have no idea what the printer uses.Where does the fault lie? - in an environment where they (the newsprinter) collect up front, have no responsibility for quality and arrogantly believe, perhaps correctly, that you'll be back with another paying job in the future.
Check the file you sent via Acrobat Preflight or Output Preview for RGB elements.
Check the file you sent via Acrobat Preflight - Checks - For Transparency Used
Do any of these elements off color involve rgb or interact (with or near) any transparency?
(InDesign could show these attributes via the links panel or a Live Preflight. Both can be (probably should be in your case) changed via the PDF Export) -
Showing inverted images in some apps
Hi,
I am currently running Mac OS X 10.9.1 (Mavericks) on my rMBP2013 15inch.
Recently, I have found out that there are images being inverted in some apps including JPEGmini and Skype.
This happens in only few applications... but I am curious why this is happening.
I tried to fix it by googling "inverted images on mac" but
only solution I found was turning off the inverting option in Universal Access in System Preferences
which did not work for me.
Someone please help me with this....Thanks a lot!
It worked for me -
Tiff decode image is inverted, photomectric is min-is-white
hello all,
i am reading in a tiff file and decoding it using the following code:
// starting with a byte[], data
SeekableStream s = new ByteArraySeekableStream(data);
TIFFDecodeParam param = null;
ImageDecoder dec = ImageCodec.createImageDecoder("TIFF", s, param);
RenderedImage op = new NullOpImage(dec.decodeAsRenderedImage(0), null,
null, OpImage.OP_IO_BOUND);
DisplayJAI djai = new DisplayJAI(op);
JScrollPane jsp = new JScrollPane(djai,
JScrollPane.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS,
JScrollPane.HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS);
my file displays inverted, black background with white text.
the tiff info for the file is:
Subfile Type: (0 = 0x0)
Image Width: 1696 Image Length: 2207
Resolution: 200, 200
Resolution Unit: pixels/inch
Bits/Sample: 1
Compression Scheme: CCITT Group 4 facsimile encoding
Photometric Interpretation: "min-is-white"
Thresholding: bilevel art scan
Date & Time: "2002:11:11 08:44:36"
Software: "Kofax standard Multi-Page TIFF Storage Filter v2.01.000"
Orientation: row 0 top, col 0 lhs
Samples/Pixel: 1
Rows/Strip: 2207
Number of Strips: 1
Planar Configuration: Not planar
other files that i have that have a photometric value of "min-is-black" display correctly. any ideas on how to display a value of "min-is-white" correctly?
thanks for any help.Not that I know the answer, but if I did I wouldn't answer.

I am having a problem with the image being displayed upside down. How do I get the image to display correctly without having to rotate it? Thanks for any help!
I am using a very old version of Java - JDK1.1.8 and Swing 1.0.3
Code:
import com.sun.java.swing.*;
import java.awt.*;
public class TestIcon
JPanel panel;
TestIcon()
JFrame frame = new JFrame("Test");
ImageIcon rbIcon = new ImageIcon("12304-fuzzy-molly.gif");
panel = new JPanel();
panel.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(200, 100));
panel.add(new JLabel((Icon)rbIcon));
frame.pack();
frame.setSize(200,100);
frame.getContentPane().add(panel);
frame.setVisible(true);
public static void main(String [] args)
TestIcon ti = new TestIcon();How do I get the image to display correctly without having to rotate it? Is this programmatic rotation or normal graphics editing rotation?
I don't know much about JDK1.1.8 but does it have the java.awt.Graphics2D class? If it does, then look up the rotate method and try this.
1. Subclass javax.swing.ImageIcon
2. override the paintIcon method like this public void piantIcon(Component c, Graphics g, int x, int y) {
super.paintIcon(c, g, x, y);
Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) g
g2.rotate(Math.PI);
// i think there should be a translate after this. Something like g2.translate(x,y);
} Please check the above code and method well cos I haven't tested it, this is just a suggestion.
If the above suggestion cannot help, then I think you should get out your graphics editor and do a manual rotation of the image yourself and save it with a different file name, so that you can load the upright or inverted image when you need it.

In an eMail message, when I attempt to save two photos by clicking the 'Save 2 Images' link, not the 'Save Image' link, the images are not saved. (I use I I apologize for the late notice, butOS7 on IPhone5). Is this feature broken?
Please don't post the same question multiple times!

I am trying to use photomerge compose. I open one standard jpeg image and one image that is my business logo in a png format. When I select the png image, to extract the logo from it, it appears as all white and will not allow me to select the logo from it. It has worked in the past but I downloaded the update today and photomerge will not work correctly. Any ideas?
hedger,
How do you expect anyone to help when we don't know a darned thing about the file, abut your setup, exact version of Photoshop and your OS, machine specs, etc.?
BOILERPLATE TEXT:
Note that this is boilerplate text.
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).
a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too.
Please read this FAQ for advice on how to ask your questions correctly for quicker and better answers:

Problem in creating 1 image using differnt images
Dear Fellows I want to create an image by using different images in byte array format. Images may be transparent or normal images. I want final result in byte array. I am using the following technique which is working fine but the problem with this technique is that it takes too much time to create an image. This is because I am using MediaTraker. If I delete the code of MediaTracker then program have undeterministic behavior i.e, sometimes it create the final image properly and sometimes nothing is displayed in final image.
I need some help from you. If anyone of you know the technique to draw image using different images without using mediaTracker kindly let me know.
Early replies will be appreciated

How can I attach an image without the image is in the email body? (using the new mail the Lion)
I want in attachment, not in the body mail.I think your only solution is to zip the image files first and then attach them.
Read this from a site I found:
Sending Graphical Attachments -- When you attach a graphical image to your message, the recipient of your message sees the image inline (that is, in the body of the message) if her email client supports inline display. ("Take Control of Email with Apple Mail" contains a table listing the capabilities of popular Mac and PC email clients.) If a client does not support inline display (or the recipient has turned off the inline display option), the file appears as an attachment that must be opened in a separate program.
On the one hand, an inline image is easier for the recipient to see - all she has to do is look at it. On the other hand, inline images can be frustrating to scroll through. If you do not wish to send a graphical image inline, you must compress the file before attaching it - Mail, sadly, lacks a built-in compression option, though fortunately for Panther users, the Finder offers Zip compression without requiring a separate application.
Note that when you compose a new message, Mail always shows attachments in the body of your message. You can manually drag them somewhere else, but many email clients display all attachments in a separate list, regardless of where you place them in the message body.
If you paste an image into a message or drag & drop an image from another window (say, a Web browser), Mail converts the raw image data to an attachment in TIFF format. On the other hand, if you drag & drop the icon of an image file (or use the Attach button to locate the file using the file browser), Mail leaves the attached image in its original format. This difference is significant, because although most email clients can display JPEG images just fine, support for TIFF - especially in non-Mac email clients - is less common. If possible, I suggest attaching image files as opposed to pasting or dragging in raw image data. -

I have recently installed Indesign CC (I had the CS 5.5). I have some issues in doing simple things such as fill in a forma created with the pen either with a color either with an image. The image is there but is invisible. same issue when I want to draw a line. Impossible to color the line and when I increased the thickness, it was creating a sort of wrap around the shape. have you ever encountered this kind of issue ? Thanking the community for his help.

Can I delete all of the images in "All Images" without losing any originals?
Can I delete all of the images in "All Images" without losing any original photos? Thank you.
Simply: iPhoto is a database. Like all databases it requires that you manipulat the data via the tools provided and not through backdoors. If you delete matter managed by iPhoto (or for that matter, any database) through some other means then the database will be unaware of the deletions. The database will not reflect the changes and you'll have significant issues going forward with iPhoto.
So, to be really, really clear: if you delete Photos managed by iPhoto via the All Images search you will corrupt your Library.
It's your computer, your images and your iPhoto. You have the information, you decide how to use it.
