Reverse play with audio

Hi all
In another place I frequent a poster has asked for suggestions for a media player or software that can play a file forwards and backwards with audio. He needs this feature to help his autistic son. Ideally it would be a simple player that instantly reverses the footage, not just rewinds the action. I can't think of one yet.
I am away from my PE7 software at the moment. Does the reverse function for a clip reverse both the audio and video or just the video. I have not used that function yet myself but I was thinking he could use PE7 to produce two versions of his films. That would not be an ideal solution but may be a way forward if we cannot suggest a player.
Hope someone can help here.

Yes. When you right click the video on the Timeline, select Time Stretch, and check Reverse Speed, the video and audio play backward, from end to beginning as the Timeline indicator moves from left to right, instead of beginning to end. The speed itself and the duration of the video are not affected.

MXF file plays with audio on Source Monitor but timeline imports only the video

Hello,
This started happening like a few hours ago. But it was working perfectly before! This is driving me insane!
This is the situation (Premiere CC, updated to latest version):
- I have a bunch of MXF files and if I play them on the Source Monitor, audio and video play perfectly.
- The moment I drag the MXF file onto the timeline, only the video is imported, not the audio.
- I tried to drag only the audio, using the different ways that Premiere provides but it won't come at all.
I managed to import audio and video doing the following: close all sequences, and drag the MXF file in the timeline with no sequence opened thus it will create a sequence with the imported audio and video from the MXF file.
BUT if I try to drop the SAME MXF file in this brand new sequence, only the video will come again.
Does anyone have an idea of what is going on? And why it suddenly stopped working?

Old clips that do play with audio on my ipad do not have audio in imovie. What's wrom

I have some old videoclips i made with a HTC-phone.
They play well and with audio on my new ipad air.
However, they do not seem to have audio when i play them in the imovieapp.

I recommend this part of the iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here https://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/application/.
If you get to step 3 I recommend closing ALL the apps. Here is step 2 to get you started:
See if there is an updated version of the app on your iPhone.
Open the App Store and tap Updates. If updates are available, tap Update All. iPhone will then download and install the app updates.
If prompted, enter your iTunes Store account information. iPhone will then download and install the app updates.

Flash videos playing with audio echo on initial load.

I have been having issues playing Flash videos in the current version of Firefox (10.0) as well as the previous version (unknown) over the past few months.
When I open a page with a video it will begin playing with an echo as if two videos are playing at the same time with a slight delay on the second video causing an audio echo effect. So basically one video with echoing audio. The websites that I experience this the most are yahoo sports (happens practically every time) and gamespot (happens occasionally). If I refresh the page the echoing effect goes away.
I am running Windows 7 64-bit.
I have updated video drivers on my ATI Radeon HD 5800 series.
My flash player / shockwave is 11,1,102,55 (updated) but I know I have experienced the same problem with previous versions.
I have the following plug-ins enabled:
1. Adobe Acrobat 10.1.2.45
2. Current version of Ad-Block
3. Divx Plus Web Player 2.2.0.52
4. Divx VOD Helper Plug-In 1.1.0.6
5. Microsoft Windows Media Player Firefox Plug-In 1.0.0.8

I have some others as well but I thought these were the only relevant ones.
Can anyone help me with my problem?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Movie doesnt play with audio

Hello Everyone,
I'm a newbie to DVDSP3, when i link the movie to the play button i dont hear the audio when i preview the project. but when i drag the audio to the play button it works but it also increase the project from 4.1 to 8.1 gigs.... can someone help me.

What you should do is encode the video and audio outside of DVD SP and make sure to A.Pack/Dolby the audio.
Then the m2v and audio should be placed on a track
Take a look here for an overview, take a look at point 5 pictures to make sure you have video and audio (blue and green) set on the track. Sounds like you are making drop zones in a menu or adding items there

Adobe AIR Android + MediaPlayer: Video Plays with no Audio

I am trying to play a video in my Adobe AIR Android App. I can't seem to get the video to play with audio in the application. I can get the audio to play in the native players on both my Samsung Galay and my Asus Transformer outside of my app, but when I load the video using StageVideo, the audio doesn't play at all.
I tried just launching the video into the navtive browser or using StageWebView but that doesn't work either.
I am a bit at a loss and need some advice.

Quicktime or Quicktime Pro (both of which iTunes uses) does not convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.

You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.

Drop Zone with Audio

Is it possible to create a video Drop Zone for a template in FCP that plays with audio. I am doing a 16_9 Background with 4_3 Drop Zone, but when I use it in FCP and drop the video it plays without audio. Am I missing some preference or is it just not possible to create this?

Playback sync with audio?

It seems that in After Effects you can't play - with audio - from anywhere in the timeline, only from the beginning.
But you CAN in Photoshop Extended. Doesn't seem right.
(All I want to do is make a simple video sequence where images appear synced to sound,
and Keynote has no timeline feature. Is there some simple software that can make and export a .mov sound-slide show in a specific pixel size?)

Incorrect. Check the Preview panel and enable the From current time option. For everything else I suggest you do a little searching on this forum (via Google, as obviously the built-in search is down and didn't cut it to begin with) and study some tutorials such as one of Andrew Kramer's first ones on Videocopilot.net dealing with creating slideshows. Also broaden your scope to include alternate tools like Captivate or Flash Catalyst or even Encore...

How do I watch multicam with audio?

Made a nested sequence, turned it into multicam, but when I watch all angles simultaneously in the source monitor, there's no audio. How do I enable the audio tracks? I've tried turning them "on" on the timeline, selecting them, grouping them, nesting them, playing with audio track levels, what do I do?

The multi-cam display only shows up in the Source monitor. I just want to watch all cameras with audio and be able to switch between them. Is there a way to do that?

Autoplay ads with audio, extremely loud

So today, for the first time, out of nowhere, skype is now playing advertisements with audio while I have skype open in the background. I haven't been in a call to see if they also play during calls, but from viewing other threads here I assume that they will. How can this be seen as acceptable in any way? There is no way to remove or mute the ads, and even then they should never be playing audio in the first place. If this continues to occur, my regular skype group and I will be forced to move to something like teamspeak. If the skype team actually supports or tries to justify in any way that this is an ok thing, I'm going to be extremely dissapointed.

Having the same issue.I noticed that the ads tend to show up more often when I am coming out of a fullscreen game... The ad that was there was some kind of comedy trailer.. I wasn't paying attention to which one it was because I was busy trying to shut it down, but I remember one of them was was a comedy trailer RIGHT before the november man trailer that was aired at exactly 11:55 pm eastern central on august first 2015.If that helps. It's really loud, and now that I think about it, I realize now that the ADS from skype are what are causing my ping to skyrocket REALLY hard in game, i'm being raised by at least 50 latency marks just by the fact that one of your trailers is playing silently( and by 90 latency if it's playing with audio)... And yes this is a consistant remark that your ADS are interfering with your service for people without a deluxe-end internet connection....

Playing An Audio Affect In Reverse?

You could place the effect in a new project, then Share as a Full Quality QuickTime movie.
Then import that into your project, apple the Reverse Vide FX and then extract the audio from the clip.
I'll warn you now that the results will be less than satisfactory.
Better results can be obtained by using an audio editor such as Sound Studio. (Unfortunately, GarageBand doesn't have a reverse effect.)
Best of all would be to find a slide whistle up effect. I got both a slide whistle up and down from Hollywood Edge at one time. But I no longer see them among their free effects.

Audio doesn't reverse correctly in reverse play

Hey All,
I don't know if any of you have encountered this problem, but I can't find a similar topic on the forum.
When I use the "J" key to reverse play my timeline, the audio starts playing in reverse like the video does for about half of a second. However, without pressing any keys, the video continues to play in reverse (like it should), but the audio then begins playing forwards (which is my problem), while it should have continued to play in reverse.
I am running the Production Premium CS3 suite with a Matrox RT.X2 LE card. I'm thinking the audio issue may be Matrox-related, but I thought I'd check on this forum to see if anyone has had a similar problem.

The main reason this is a problem for me is that I do a lot of logging of interviews. I like to be able to scrub both backwards and forwards in order to find the ins/outs of the take. If scrubbing backwards plays audio forwards, then I have to rely on lip movement rather than audio in order to find the end of a take.
Scrubbing forwards using "L" works correctly for 1x, 2x, and so on. But -1X using "J" plays the audio at +1x rather than -1x.
Let me know if you need further clarification.

Welcome to the  discussion forums.
Try going to synching in the sources menu on your tv and selecting 'change itunes library', when it gives you the passcode check itunes to see if the tv is showing up as a new device, if so try entering the pass code. It may be that your tv is seeing itunes as a different library because of a recent upgrade.

For sound, try the audio output port and connecting to the RCA audio input ports on your Pioneer receiver. Use something like this:
