Reverse scale in numbers

I need to reverse a scale (y axis) so that the highest number is at the origin point and the lowest number at the top. Is this possible? I can do it in Excel but I can't find it in numbers.
Thanks.

If you really need this feature, stay with Excel

    Hi,
I have exactly, exactly!! thesame annoying problem you have or had. I don't know what to do and i am reallyfrustrated with the dumb limited inside the box solutions offered to me. It'slike if you have a problem with your ipod or iphone you can either restore it,uninstall/reinstall itunes and thats pretty much it. I am sorry but that isjust f***** up.
anyway, regardless to all that,i was wondering if you had any success in solving this problem (something otherthan using a different computer which oddly enough seemed to work for somereason..?? why???, weird) since April.
I am on the edge of givingup.
    thank you in advance.

  • Content scale in Numbers

What is the Content scale in Numbers, and how to I delete it?  Explain please.
    Greg

Why would you want to delete it?  That's like saying you want to delete the ability to scale your document so it fits on the page.
I'm not sure how to describe content scale better than telling you to go into Print View and use the slider. It is obvious what it does.

Can any body help on this.

    Hi,
The language key of the form must be Arabic(AR). Also you need to use device type ARWSIN or SWINCF to create the spool and print.
In the smartform editor, do you use the Unicode MS Word as the editor?

  • Scale to fit in PRINT DIALOG

Is there a way to scale to fit in the print dialog? Does anyone know where this is and how to save these? The settings seem to be splayed across Numbers, Layout and Paper Handling Tabs and I really wish they had put this together in a more straightforward way.
This dialog drives me nuts when I have two printers and a jillion pieces of software that I am printing out of.
Is there a way to scale a numbers spreadsheet to FIT onto 8 x 11 or 8 x 14 or 11 x 17 inch paper? I often need to print the SAME DOCUMENT out on different paper sizes and I can't seem to find a scale to fit in the print dialog that works.
I am using an HP 8500 and a HP 1700.
    Thanks.

If you don't want to apply the trials scheme every time, you may use these scripts.
The first one allows you to grab the exact scale value which you defined one by the trials scheme.

  • Crvs 2010 beta - Numeric axis grids & scales dialog box for charts

    Hello,
The dialog box was in crvs2008, but I don't see it in crvs2010 beta. Has it been removed or just moved and I can't find it?
It was off the chart shortcut menu (when you right-click on a chart in design view) under the Chart Options menu option.
    Thank you
    Tracy

    Hi Don,
I am not referring to the Chart Expert.
If you open a report that has a bar chart in crvs 2008 and follow the info below, you should see it.
In crvs 2008, when you right-clicked on a chart, the shortcut menu has an option called "grid".
When you select the grid option, the numeric axis grids & scales dialog box opened.
It has the following tabs across the top - general, scales, labels, numbers and grids.
On the left it has 2 tabs: data axis and group axis.
    Thank you
    Tracy

  • Reversing Print Order on Deskjet 1010

I am using my Deskjet 1010 to print checks from my Quickbooks Accounting program. It automatically prints them in reverse order causing numbering problems for me in my check register. I have searched the HP website, but cannot find any information for my printer.

Hello mab1,   Welcome to the HP Forums.  I see that you are attempting to change the Page Order on the computer. If you click on the Start button on the computer and go to Devices and Printers, right mouse click on the DeskJet 1010 printer icon and then left mouse click on Printing Preferences.  From here on the Layout tab you will see the option to change the Page order.  This is the only place that it can be done on the computer.  If you are still having issues, you may need to check the settings in Quickbooks Accounting Program.   Thanks for your time.

  • Jabber and Indexing in AD

I'm setting up Jabber for Windows, iPhone and iPod and the Cisco documentation refers to indexing certain attributes in Active Directory, e.g.
    Index these Active Directory attributes:
    • sAMAccountName
    • displayName
    • mail
    • msRTCSIP-PrimaryUserAddress
In addition, index any attributes that are used for contact resolution. For example, you might need to index
    these attributes:
    • telephoneNumber
    • Any other directory phone number attributes that are used to find contacts, depending on the value of
    the DisableSecondaryNumberLookups key
    • ipPhone
Our AD team advise me that sAMAccountName, displayName and mail are laready indexed, but indexing the other fields would require a schema change (which thay won't do without very good reason) and will have a performance overhead.
I'm wondering of anyone can give some details from a Jabber perspective of not indexing the other attributes ? Is indexing a 'nice to have' or a 'must do' ?
    Regards
    Kelvin

    Hi Kelvin
Basically if an attribute is not indexed then it isn't optimised as a field for searching. That's why sAMAccountName for example is indexed by default, as every single logon or search for a username will use that index.
Adding indexed fields increases the size of the AD database, but the trade off is that searhes based on those numbers are faster and incur less processing overhead on the DCs.
Jabber et al do reverse lookups on numbers for every call that is received, so if those number fields are not indexed there will be an overhead on the DCs, and searches may time out or be returned slowly to the client.
    There's some more info here:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/ad/archive/2008/04/01/how-to-create-a-mosiac-of-user-thumbnails-in-aduc-dsa-msc.aspx
The bottom line is that yes, it is a 'schema change' but it is reversible (you can just untick the 'index' option any time) - not like actual attribute/class additions. Given that the Jabber clients will make heavy use of searches on those attributes it is typically a sensible change... That said, it's up to your AD guys to manage their performance however they see fit. If they want to ignore vendor's advice because they know their environment better and monitor/manage their performance already, then that's fine. They may have so many DCs of such a high spec that performance will never be an issue :-)

  • Adding new data to update multiple series in charts - in one action

I would like to know how to update a data series range in a chart all at once as can be achieved with Excel by
manually entering row numbers to expand the data series range or
by dragging a reference frame in a table to include additional data in the range.
At present, the only way that I have discovered I can update a series is to manually change the cell reference detail for each series individually. This is achieved by selecting a single line and clicking several times on the Data reference cell in the Inspector Chart option by highlighting the cell reference details and then manually changing the cell reference for each series separately. This is tedious, time consuming and more than a little clumsy! What used to take me a few minutes to update my charts in Excel is taking me tens of minutes in Numbers.

Unless I'm misreading this, similar techniques work in Numbers.
The original table contained only the sequential labels in column A and the data shown on the upper chart.
I made two changes, similar to those in your list (but in the opposite order, hence the reversal in my numbering):
    2. Added data to cells B11:B15 (labeled J-N). (The data added is a copy of the first five data from the original series.) Selected the chart, then expanded the data series by dragging the control (small circle) down to include these cell (plus B16) in the charted range. The chart updated to include this data.
    1. Selected B11:B15, then went Table > Add Rows Below (keyboard shortcut: option-down arrow). Numbers added five rows to the table, and updated the chart to include those rows, as shown in the lower version of the chart. Paste the data into these new rows to add it to the chart.
Although I had selected rows inside the charted range when adding new rows (to keep that "O" label on the x axis and show the 'space' before it), the five rows could as easily have been added to the end of the chart. Select B12:B16, press option-down arrow.

  • Chart Navigation Javascript Error

    Hey guys,
I have a problem trying to navigate from a chart which has a x-axis scale and a legend (means both of them are supposed to be sent to the navigated-to report).
My legend is in hebrew btw, so what BI usually does is convert it to hex and it works.
When i try to navigate without a legend (my x-axis scale contains numbers) it works, and also when I put the legend as the x-axis and remove my numbers scale (so that hebrew values are sent, but only when one value is sent).
My problem seems to be when trying to send to filters and the second filter is in hebrew, because clicking on different categories i get different errors, like:
    "Expected '['"
    "Unterminated string constant"
    "Expected hexadecimal digit"
    etc.
Does anyone know this problem? Is there a patch maybe?

    Hi Kristoffer,
our system administrators told me that a similar problem was encountered before by my client and they pointed me to a SAP note (Number 913065). I copy here an abstract of it:
    <i>Symptom
When clicking on the TLN the following javascript error is thrown:
"gNavTree.children[...] is null or not an object"
This can occur in one of the following cases:
    1. The first page after login contains a page with links. If one of the
links leads to a page in the PCD that is not part of any of the roles and
was clicked before clicking anything else in the TLN - the next time the
user will click on the TLN the js error will be thrown.
    2. One of the pages in the portal contains a list of links that leads to an
invisible page after clicking on one of the links and then clicking on the
TLN, the above js error appear.

    NW04
    Solution
This problem was solved in NW04 SP17. Please install the latest SP
    available.</i>
In fact, in our system the problem occurs with the very first link of the "Appraisals" workset  we follow; if we go back and try another link, this new one doesn't present the problem.
Unfortunately, our page seems to be "part of a role", so I don't actually understand why the problem occurs.
I hope this can be useful to you...

  • Problems with Maths (decimals) In java calculations

In a normal calculator type in
    (27.8 / 3) * 12 = 111.2
Do this in Java and I get
    111.20000000000002
This is causing a problem in my calculations, is this a known bug and how can i get around it ?
    Friendly Regards
    Steven

Yes i know I will read the article but as I said just
wanted get this working before i go home today.
This is how I fixed it anyway
    DecimalFormat threeDecimals = new
    DecimalFormat("0.000");
    thirdOfWk =
    Double.parseDouble(threeDecimals.format(thirdOfWk));
Thanks for the help guysI think you are going to need to do some rounding otherwise this will not fix all the problems.
    Consider that:
    111.20000000000002
    truncated to 3 decimals is:
    111.200
But what if the number comes up something like this (I am not sure that it can happen but I would guess that it can):
    123.19999999999998 (instead of 123.2)
    truncated to 3 decimals is:
    123.199
And I think doremifasollatido is correct and you have another problem (because you are putting the truncated number back into a Double).
You really need to use BigDecimal or integers. For integers you would need to scale the numbers and then display with decimals.

  • Report with embedded Graph

    Hello,
When generating a PDF file from an RDF file with an embedded pie chart, the graphic within the resulting PDF file is altered and does not look like the one in the report.
I am using Oracle 8i Release 8.1.5.0.0 and Report Builder 6.0.8.8.3
    Thanks.

If you want to display 4 decimal places you need to set decimalDigit="4". Also, make sure nothing is happening to the value before your graph gets it that would cause it not to display correctly.
Here is what the DTD for graphs looks like for the ViewFormat element:
    <!-- ViewFormat specifies number formatting-->
       <!ELEMENT ViewFormat EMPTY >
       <!-- ViewFormat attributes
numberType: format numbers as currency or percent?
       thousandSeparator: character for separating thousands
decimalSeparator: character for separating whole number from decimal
currencySymbol: currency symbol; numberType must be NUMTYPE_CURRENCY
       leadingZero: display leading zeros?
decimalDigit: number of decimal digits to display
       posNumFmt: format for positive numbers
       negNumFmt: format for negative numbers
       posCurFmt: format for positive currency
       negCurFmt: format for negative currency
scaleFactor: how much to scale (abbreviate) numbers
scaleDownThousands: character(s) to use when numbers represent thousands

"used" attributes specify whether one of the above properties has

-->You would put this inside your X or Y axis element like:
    <Y1Axis lineWidth="1">
    <ViewFormat decimalDigit="4" decimalSeparator="." decimalDigitUsed="true" decimalSeparatorUsed="true"/>
    </Y1Axis>I don't see your X axis anywhere...maybe it it your "O1Axis" but I don't see that either, I only see "O1Title","O1TickLabel", etc.

  • Creating video for a 9:16 screen (standard display mounted vertically)

Is it possible to use FCEHD to produce a video that will be shown on a 16:9 screen that is being mounted vertically. I'm assuming I'd want to reverse the pixel numbers....i.e. swap width for height, etc. Can I do this? Is there another approach? (The screen itself will rotate the image it gets...but I will have to provide it a 9:16 image.)

    Wow, interesting question.
The only way I can imagine this being done is just having the material shot and editing in whatever 16:9 format you are planning on using, keeping in mind that it will be oriented 90' differently. It will look all crooked on screen as you are editing, but knowing that the display monitor will be rotated, it will be "righted" at that point. That might be tricky to do with the eye, but I see no other way that it can be done.
