Reverse Synch - Restoring data from iPhone back to my PC (XP)?
The laptop I was using for synching my iPhone died and I have no backup (yes, stupid of me). Is there a way of moving the data (musicpodcastsOutlook 07 calendar and contacts) from my iPhone to another laptop? Right now what's on my iPhone is the most up to date info.

The sync function for address book contacts and calendar events is bi-directional but not for music, video and photos.
iTunes includes an option for transferring purchases from an iPod or iPhone to iTunes on another computer. With the iPhone connected, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. This will transfer music, video, etc. that was purchased from the iTunes Music Store only.
Make sure the iTunes preferences on this other computer does not automatically sync with any iPhone when connected.

For just moving iTunes music, that is easier than data; and I can

items on an iPhone or iPod Touch, etc, would be essential to a
multi-tasking user who has a home base and needs to save and
use this stuff between several devices you have and own.
Most of the sync information on how to move stuff, tends to delete
the peripheral content from the iPod, iPhone, etc and sets them
back to some pre-used state or default initialization. There must
be some other way, that actually lets the user take control over
items so you can archive and restore, or reuse them in your Mac.
So, with the odds not looking good, on retaining content should
one go through with the often suggested sync or other wiping
results of attaching a Mac to a portable iPod, etc, be careful to
not do that unless you have that content somewhere else first!
Is there a way you could use a gmail account to save and move
items, perhaps if you can upload content there, it can be saved
into a computer via email (wireless, etc) and save it that way?
For the iTunes music, you could check into and see if this thing
called (iTunes, backward) may work. I have not read a lot about
it, though it has been around awhile. Not sure what else it can do.

Sync Data from iPhone back to iTune
Because of my computer being formatted, all data has been lost. What I want to do is sync back all my data in iPhone to new iTune without changing any data in my iPhone. What should I do?
First things first, always do a backup. You can not copy from any iDevice back to your PC, you can thank apple for this and DRM. Google copy from ipod to computer. There is 3rd party software that will do this, some free and some paid.

Photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on the iPhone as part of the iTunes sync/transfer process - the original resolution of these photos is reduced, which is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported.
Since I haven't heard that a Windows virus can be included with a jpeg file, did you include the photos store on your computer's hard drive with your computer's backup along with all other important data before wiping the hard drive due to the virus?
If not, there are 3rd party paid utilities available that provide transferring these photos in the opposite direction, but the original resolution of these photos will be lost. -
I am updating an iPhone 4 on an iMac, it is not my phone but another one. Is there a way to restore that phones date from iTunes back-up?

I have Lion on my laptop and I want to back up my calendar TO my iphone. Not the reverse. iCloud only goes from iphone to iCloud to mac not the other way. Also, why doesn't "sync" mean update most recent changes across all devices? I thought that was the point of iCloud. Any suggestions since iCloud doesn't seem to work?
It's a work computer so I wanted to save them to my iTunes so I can access from another computer. Should I go to a home computer and just Import for best results? If so how do I do this? Also, why would I be synched with another library and how do I find out what this is? Very new/green user here

You can use iCloud or you can Restore From Back Up using iTunes. Your iPhone 4 data can now be placed in iCloud or you can Sync your iPhone 4 to iTunes. Once Sync is in iTunes, connect iPhone 5 to iTunes if it does not ask if you want to Restore from Back Up, right click PC or Control click Mac the iPhone 5 name in left column of iTunes. In the drop down menu select Restore From Back Up, in the menu in the center of iTunes select the back up you want on your iPhone 5.

As I have said in the title, I was supposed to do a restore on my iPad for work. I backed up the device and then I restored it to factory settings as I was instructed. Now that all of that is complete, I tried to restore it from the back up point I created and it will not recognize my Apple ID password. I really hope that I won't lose all of my data, but I don't know what else to do. I have tried entering my password numerous times. I really hope that someone can help me.Restoring an iPad from an iTunes-generated backup should not require an Apple ID password.
Did you encrypt the iPad backup? If so, then trying to restore will require entering the encryption password. -

I need help to restore data from my iCloud account on an unused iPhone 5c because my iPhone 5 with a newer iOS update was stolen. When I try I get a message that I cannot retore my data because the iOS on my iPhone 5c is an older version than on the stolen iPhone 5.

You cannot. However, you can solve this problem by setting the iPhone as a new device and upgrading iOS in Settings -> Software Update.
After upgrading iOS, open Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings. Finally, Setup Assistant will let you restore the backup. -

You mean an iCloud backup? If so, first make sure your phone is running the same or higher version of iOS as the device that backed up was running. If it isn't, you'll have to update it first in order to restore the backup.
Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts. Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup. -
I was updating my software on my iphone 4 and it crashed so it recovered it and i restored it from its back up. However I have lost all my music and my apps but not my pictures. How can i get my music back. I did not remove my phone from the computer until it had said it had finsihed.
Media and apps are not part of the backup. They need to be re-synced from your itunes library or re-downloaded from the store.

Your phone is in recovery mode. Did you plug it to the computer running itunes? What happend?

Your error is connect to hardware, try these steps to solve it:
Related errors: 1, 3, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer might have a hardware issue that stops the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't blocking your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Make sure that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
