Reverse Type and Print Text as Black
I made a black box and on another layer I made the type "white" by choosing "paper". On screen it looked correct.
Then I did a preflight and chose "print text as black" because I thought the text in the rest of the doc looked better with that choice.
Problem: After printing, the text in the box came out black instead of white. What should I have done? I am using InDesign CS5 on Windows.
That’s what you asked for, isn’t it? Text as black means all of the text, not just some of it.
Now, before you get horribly frustrated I suggest taking a step back in your move to InDesign.
First, buy this book: http://amzn.to/ORQqtT ; Sandee Cohen’s Visual Quick Start Guide is the best beginner book on the market. It’s the best $20 you’ll ever spend.
Secondly, check out the video training on Lynda.com. Here’s a link for a one week free trial: http://bit.ly/fcGpiI

hie....am using the hp deskjet 1050 printer and scanner ....ealier i was able to print all kind of text(black and color)....but now am unable to print text in black....why is it so?
Hi,
Please go to HP Printer Assistant (you can see this in Start Menu->HP->HP 3540 Series).Select 'Set Preferences'.Go to Layout tab and select Advanced tab. Go to Document Options and select 'Black Ink Only' (for black prints only).
Colour Only doesnot makes sense. If you want to print the colour,just reset the above option.
By default, HP printer prints black area with black and color with color.
Hope this helps. -
My HP Envy 4500 does not print text in black ink
I bought my printer this summer, it is only 5 months old.
Now it does not print black ink. Text in black does not appear when printing, every other colors appears.
I've cleaned printerhead with software installed (HP doctor), but it did not solve the problem...
I used the CD when I installed the printer/drivers, and I have updatet software when asked by "update manager".
I have not had this problem earlier, it has just occured last weeks...
What can be missing here? Can someone help?
If the printerhead is broken, can I have a replacement sent to me, or can I pick one up at the store I bought the printer?Hi @jb-thom69
i appreciate the efforts you have made to resolve the issue. At this point, I suggest calling HP.
If you are in Canada or US call 800 474 6836, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.

Photosmart C6280 Can't bypass the warnings and print only in black
I have a photosmart C6280 printer and i want to print in black only, but i can not bypass the "low ink" errors and "expired cartridge" errors to proceed. I've changed the preferences in my print options to black only but the printer is still flashing "low ink" or "expired cartridge". The black ink cartridge is full and in date btw. I'm afraid of going to buy new colored ink and it still not work, then I'm out of pocket a lot of money and stuck with colored ink cartridges I can't use or return. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program...still nothing. I'm beyond frustrated.
Hi @hatfieldnomore,
I see by your post that you replaced the black cartridge and aren't able to continue printing. You are unable to bypass the "low ink" errors and "expired cartridge" errors to proceed. I can help you.
The printer can operate only for a short period of time with ‘out of ink’ cartridges. All cartridges must be installed for the printer to operate and they must have sufficient ink for servicing, in order to prevent the printhead from drying out.
I have provided a document for Printing with Depleted Cartridges.
This is for the error 'Ink expiration near' Message Displays on the All-in-One.
Have a nice day!
Thank You.

I have just purchased a MacBook Pro as my PC has finaly died.
I have three Inkjet printers i.e. Epson Photo PX700W Epson Photo R340 and a Canon Pixma ip4600 which I connected to my Mac and the print drivers were automatically downloaded. Now when I print using any of the printers the functionality PC i.e. Choice of paper and print quality settings. Is this all I get when using the Mac OS lion or should the functionality be on a par with Windows?Depending on the application you are printing from, you may need to press the Show Details button in the print dialog to see all of the additional driver menus.
The image below is for the extended print dialog of TextEdit and for a Canon MP990 printer. The Show Details button is on the bottom of the print dialog and will change to Hide Details when selected. And with the menu changed to Quality & Media, you have paper options and print quality settings. -
My Photosmart 2575 has suddenly started to replace all text with big black blocks of ink.
The issue has occured after I installed - and uninstalled - another HP all in one printer (can not remember name and number).
Have uninstalled all HP printer related drivers and applications, re-booted computer and installed the AiO_071_000_201_000_CDA_DriverOnly_Network_dan_NB.exe application again, but still the same!
Can someone please advice?
Thanks in advance.

URGENT: Smartform - Attaching Font to Device Type and Printing
Hello Smarform Gurus,
I have uploaded CORPOS font to SAP and using in SMARTFORMS. Whenever the PDF is called for invoice, it should print immediately.
When I open the smartform and then print, the printout is coming fine with CORPOS font.
Problem: When Invoice is created and PDF is called immediately, the prinout is not coming properly. It's because the printer device type KYOFS150 we are using does not support CORPOS. Pls let me know the options we have. We have also referred to SAP note 12462.
Thanks in advance,
AbhishekHi
U need to update the printer device type KYOFS150 or use another one supports that font

Hi all,
The device type HP LJ 4350 enables print options and allow us to set which paper tray is to used in a specific form.
However, our usual supplier does not sell this device type anymore.
Does anyone know another device type that could allow tray configuration in the SPAD transaction?
Thanks for your help.Hi,
Take a look at SAP note #1049778. For recent releases, the device type HP4350 should be already available in transaction SPAD n the system.
Also as per SAP note #1049778, most of the new device types that were developed within the SAP Printer Vendor program (SAP note #1130927) support the new print options.(see SAP note #1103422)

How can I reverse or mirror print text? Word 2008, OSX10.6.8;
Where can I find the option to print mirror text? Used to be easy in Word but I can't find a way to do it there, nor can I find in in my print options. This is basic and should be easier to do, seems like.
Thanks for the link Jeff. Couldn't find any links on the Adobe site.
Even with that link though, I was still left puzzled as it didn't give multiple versions, just a 32 bit and 64 bit version.
I tried the 64 bit and it didn't work, so I assumed that was what had already been installed in the update.
Now installed the 32 bit version, and fingers crossed. At least it starts up now!

Hello,
I have the below code running using the EwsJavaApi. I need to modify it to read the the first email that matches the search string, and then save it's attachment to a file.... Thank you in advance!!!
public class EWSDemo {
* @param args
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
ExchangeService service = new ExchangeService();
// Provide Crendentials
ExchangeCredentials credentials = new WebCredentials("[email protected]", "yubbybuddy");
service.setCredentials(credentials);
// Set Exchange WebSevice URL
service.setUrl(new URI("https://outlook.office365.com/EWS/exchange.asmx"));
// Get five items from mail box
ItemView view = new ItemView(5);
// Search Inbox
FindItemsResults<Item> findResults = service.findItems(WellKnownFolderName.Inbox,"Subject:ROGERDODGER123", view);
// iterate thru items
for (Item item : findResults.getItems()) {
System.out.println(item.getSubject());
AttachmentCollection myAttachments = item.getAttachments();
System.out.println(myAttachments.);>> I need to modify it to read the the first email that matches the search string
By first do you mean then newest email to arrive or the oldest email in the Mailbox that matches that string ?
Exchange returns Items from Newest to oldest by default if you want the older messages then you can use the OrderBy property
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.exchange.webservices.data.itemview.orderby(v=exchg.80).aspx which should give you the oldest item
Cheers

Questions about Using Lightroom and Print Studio Pro
I want to use Print Studio pro via the lightroom plugin since as I understand it, that is the only way to ensure a 16-bit file is being passed to the printer (on Windows). However, I am a little confused about how the image is being rendered. Is lightroom applying a default output sharpening to the file before handing it off to Print Studio Pro or Does Print Studio Pro manage resolution and Output sharpening based on the media and print size you choose?
So basically I am wondering if there is any output sharpening being applied, and when is it applied. The possibilities I think would be:
Lightroom is applying a default output sharpening when rendering the file to TIF for Print Studio Pro (If this is the case, what setting is being applied and is it possible to change it?)
Print Studio Pro is applying output sharpening based on media type and print size, or applying a generiz amount of sharpening that does not take into account media or size.
No Sharpening is being applied. In this case, I should probably be exporting this file manually with output sharpening applied and then opening in Print Studio Pro
The other question I have is if when using the plugin is the TIF file that is being generated in 16-bit pro-photo to ensure the maximum amount of color data?
Because if Print Studio Pro is not applying sharpening I think it may just be better to print through the lightroom tool even though it renders down to 8-bit because the amount of control I have via the lightroom print module would be far more advantageous than any color data I am losing by printing in 8-bit.
Anyone know the answer to all this?I had similar questions when I first got my Pro-100.
1. You can call up PSP from any module, so I assume it is ignoring print module settings.
2. If I select a Saved Print, which adjusts the print module settings specific to that print, and the open PSP the paper settings in PSP are not what is in LR, supporting the "ignore" conclusion.
3. I ran some test prints using LR to print at three different output sharpening settings (Off, Standard, High) to ensure I could see a difference (I did).
4. I ran four test prints: LR-Standard, XPS driver, LR-Standard regular driver, PSP using standard driver and PSP using XPS driver. I couldn't see any difference between the four prints.
Since LR is such an easy printing process I haven't seen a reason to use PSP.

Hi
Requirement is to copy the text from PO to Inbound delivery.Need how and what are all the step in configuration required?
-PrabuHi,
Solution
This note should help to map the text determination procedure from the
purchase order in the system correctly.
The function 'Text from purchase order' is available as of Support
Package SAPKH46B32 in Release 4.6B and SAPKH46C23 in Release 4.6C.
The following consultation refers to Customizing as of Release 4.70 and
higher - transaction VOTXN.
However, it is also relevant for Releases 4.6B and 4.6C as of the
Support Packages mentioned above - transaction VOTX.
Customizing for the procedure texts from purchase order -> delivery
1. Delivery type definition
Define your own delivery type for texts from purchase orders.
Since preceding documents from purchase order and sales order may
exist for deliveries, a separate delivery type is required for a
correct text determination.
Create access sequences
Example: instead of replenishment delivery RD -> new ZRD
2. Text determination procedure definition
Use transaction VOTXN (VOTX) and create your own text procedure at
header level as well as at item level.
3. Creating access sequences
For the new text determination procedures, use text objects EKKO and
EKPO to create new access sequences.
If you only want to find texts in this access sequence that were
created manually in the purchase order, text object EKKO or EKPO is
sufficient.
Here you should also maintain the condition for both text objects.
These are
EKKO > '1'
EKPO > '50'
The maintenance of additional text objects in these access sequences
is also possible of course, for example, 'TEXT'.
4. Text determination procedure assignment
Assign the new text determination procedure of the header texts to
the new delivery type and the text determination procedure of the
item texts to the relevant item categories.
In VOTXN (VOTX), this assignment is required.
Check in case of errors in the texts from purchase order procedure
1. Check: Customizing
> see above
2. Check: Table RVTXOBJ
If the system issues error message VC 220 'Only special text objects
are allowed' when you create the text objects EKKO and EKPO in
transaction VOTXN (VOTX),
check the table RVTXOBJ.
To do this, use transaction SE16 to go to the table.
If the entries EKKO and EKPO are missing there, execute the SDTXNMUP
correction report.
This reorganizes the table. -> For further information, see SAP Note
711954.
3. Check: Table TFRM
Use transaction SE16 to display the table contents of the TFRM table
and enter the 'TXNM' field value as the selection condition for the
group indicator for copying control (GRPZE).
Check if the entries for TXNM with grouping numbers (GRPNO) 018 and
019 exist > EKKO/EKPO.
> table TFRM
GRPZE GRPNO BEZEI
TXNM 001 VBBK text name
TXNM 002 VBBP text name
TXNM 003 MVKE text name
TXNM 004 TEXT text name
TXNM 005 VBKA text name
TXNM 006 KNVV text name
TXNM 007 KNVK text name
TXNM 008 KNB1 text name
TXNM 009 KNA1 text name
TXNM 010 MATERIAL text name
TXNM 011 KNMT text name
TXNM 012 VTTK text name
TXNM 013 VBBK text name
TXNM 014 VBBP text name
TXNM 015 KONA rebate payment
TXNM 016 WBRK text name
TXNM 017 WBRP text name
TXNM 018 EKKO text name <<<<<<<
TXNM 019 EKPO text name <<<<<<<
If these two entries are missing, use the solution provided in
Note 524453. The cross-client RV80INCTFRM report generates the
missing entries in TFRM.
Then start the RV80HGEN report that regenerates the relevant
includes.
You must take into account the comments in the long text of Note
524453.
Caution:
You should NOT implement the two entries manually in the FV46TNNN
include
Since this is a generated include, these entries would be lost
during the next generation (RV80HGEN).
Then you would no longer find texts from the purchase order.
Implement Note 524453 instead.
For information about the function of transaction VOFM, see also
Note 327220.
4. Error message VC 220
You receive the above error message with the text
IMPORT_LOGFILE_KEY_TOO_SHORT in the REFER_TEXT_AFTER_COMMIT function
module.
This means that an error occurred in the interface of the update
module during the local update.
To solve the problem, carry out the RSVBLOCL report for the
REFER_TEXT_AFTER_COMMIT function module.
The update module is then regenerated.
Check for a data transfer routine:
Some customers still use the workaround from Note 53593 and have defined
their own text determination routine in transaction VOFM.
As of Note 417883, this is no longer required, since the text
determination procedure from the purchase order is now supported and is
set as default.
5. Transaction ME2O - (Delivery to provision of materials for
subcontract order)
The text determination for deliveries from the provision of
materials for subcontract order is not possible in the standard
system.
