Reversed OL in Firefox ESR 31.1.1 is wrong for more than 53 items

The ESR version of Firefox (31.1.1) finally acknowledges <OL reversed="reversed"> (standard HTML5), but the implementation is only working properly for up to 53 items in the list. If there are more than 53 items, then the list will still start at 53, then count down to 1, then zero and then start on negative numbers...
There must be a bug in how the total number of items in the list is calculated.

hello bjornclausen, if you think it's a problem in the browser's implementation, please file a bug for that issue at bugzilla.mozilla.org.

    Welcome to the discussions,
WHY does it claim to be 8G but my capacity now says its just 6.83
The size of you HD is calculated binary when it comes to use it, instead of decimal when companies want to advertise there products. 1 KB=1024Byte instead of 1000KB as advertised by the manufacturer. In your case this reduces the actual available space by the factor of 0.93 or approx. 7,4GB.
If you have an "other" section in your color bar showing the different types of data on your ipod, which is bigger than 500MB, this could be a sign of corrupt data caused by a sync that did not complete or copied damaged data. A restore will reduce the size to normal again.
    Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you restore your ipod, iTunes will install the newest firmware first and then add back your data and settings from your last backup if you choose to "restore from backup". Every backup is replaced by the following one, so make sure to include this folder in your backup routine in case you'll have to go back.
You can check the location and size of the backup folder for your ipod here:
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

Sorry, I can't answer your payment question, I have never used your kind of setup, maybe you can find something useful here: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/

  • Why does FireFox truncate part of an E-mail of more than one page when I try to print it out? How can I sent an E-mail blaet to several but only show one name o

When I try to print out an E-mail that is longer than one page, part of the 2nd page is truncated. I then have to go to Safari to print out the entire E-mail without part of it being truncated.
When I have multiple E-mail addresses on a single E-mail, how can I send the E-mail so that each recipient only sees his/her name and E-mail address rather than everyone else that the E-mail is addressed to?
    Please advise.
    Thank you.
    Bill Leete

Some style rules that Firefox handles well on the screen can cause this problem. Many email sites have a print button which simplifies the message format and removes navigation elements, etc., and Firefox generally handles print-formatted pages better. If your email site doesn't have print-formatted pages or those do not print, a "hack" is to select the text you want to print and then choose the Selection option in the print dialog.
To hide email addresses from recipients, you need to place them in the BCC field. What do you put in the TO field in that case? You can use your own address.

  • How do I stop firefox from refreshing pages constantly? I have to click "back" dozens of times if I'm on a page for more than 15 seconds.

every page on every open tab refreshes every 30 seconds and each time it is saved in my cache. If I want to go back to a previous page, I have to click back once for every 30 seconds I was on the current page. Very annoying!! It just started doing this recently and I don't know why. I did reset the about:config to "0", but that didn't help.

'''Reload Every''' doesn't appear in the More System Details attached to your initial posting here, you have something else going on there.

  • I just updated to Firefox 6.0.2 and it is still freezing intermitantly. It lasts for 30-60 seconds. Before the update it froze intermitantly for more than 60 seconds. Help me unfreeze firefox!

Firefox will crash and say NOT RESPONDING at random. This happened when I updated to 6. I don't want to have to break into my system to make it work when Firefox 5 and under worked fine.

The freezing just happened again, only it was shorter this time only around 10 seconds, might be something to do with flash?

*IIRC, I run NoScript, flash, and probably a media plugin or two that came with FF or something (as in, I didn't specifically seek it out). Got an old PDF converter that's been obsolete and was safely Off in its obsolescence, not causing any problems. Nothing particularly Wacky, to the best of my knowledge.

    * Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
    * Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Unfortunately, I already found and implemented that tip. It failed to fix the problem, which prompted me to file this question. :-/

  • Browser does not seem to prompt for more than once per session, to accept untrusted sites. I have to close/open firefox to visit multiple untrusted sites in one sitting. Is there a way to fix?

I use firefox to connect to the console of different Sun/Oracle servers. The www pages are "untrusted" and I get a question to continue to connect or not. When I say continue, it pops up a window to either accept or deny the cert. This window, once I accept it, to continue to do my work. When I'm finished with that server and continue to another one, that window no longer pops up for me when another untrusted www page is loaded. But when I quit firefox, and then revisit the page, the dialogue pops up and I can accept the new cert and continue to work.
I'm considering going back to the older version of firefox as this is severely impacting my day to day use of it. I'm still trying to see if I can get around it by fiddling with different firefox options.

Thanks. I tested it, and found that I can create a bookmark in FolderA, and them manually copy it to FolderB, FolderC, and FolderD.
Once that is done, I tried the old method of "Bookmarks" --> "Bookmark This Page" and added it to FolderE. When I did that, it deleted the copy in FolderD but left the other three alone!
This is fine with me. I personally think this is a bug, because I don't think that Firefox should ever delete a bookmark without asking me (or at least, informing me). But now that I understand the algorithm, I can work around it. Thanks!

  • Can't get firefox to work for more than a week. won't pull up any website - IE works great

I have been having problems with Firefox for some time now. I have a HP running a AMD Athlon II X4 (Windows 7). Only major software is PC Tools PC Doctor, Skype, and other MS Office software.
Firefox will simply stop loading webpages and just sit there. Internet Explorer will work fine. I have completely uninstalled, ugraded, and just about everything I can think of. This has been ongoing. It will work great for about 2 weeks, then stops. Any help would be appreciated, i don't want to use IE.
    thanks

  • Interrupted while setting about:config. Came back and now firefox won't open for more than 1 second.

As above. looked up and was late to work. never 'closed' file or settings.
Came back from work and now firefox opens for about 1 second and automatically closed
down immediately. I've removed it. uninstalled it. redownloaded it. still does same.
Now I can't go back in and recheck the config settings, because it won't stay open long enough
    to even work on it.
I had remotely saved my bookmarks, so that's the most valuable thing.
I'd be happy to wipe it off my disc and simply replace it and start all over.
How can i get that done? I'm not a super pro, so direct steps would be really useful.

You can try to delete the prefs.js file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Display includes lots of diamonds with question marks. Some are from curly quotation marks, which Firefox never did display correctly, but there are more than ever with 5.0

PS the opposite problem, HTML code shows, in the American National Biography database. There, quotes sometimes show as "&quot;" and apostrophes sometimes display "&#x0072;" never happened before and IE works fine.

go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
    -> Update ALL your Firefox Plug-ins https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
-> go to View Menu -> Zoom -> click "Reset"
-> go to View Menu -> Page Style -> select "Basic Page Style"
-> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect unwanted toolbars
-> go Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> Time range to clear: select EVERYTHING -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on ALL Options -> click "Clear Now"
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> General -> When Firefox starts : select "Show My Home Page" -> Type the address of the website which you want to be your HomePage e.g. http:www.google.com -> click OK
-> click the Favicon (small drop down menu icon) on Firefox SearchBar (its position is on the Right side of the Address Bar) -> click "Manage Search Engines" -> select unwanted search engines and click Remove -> click OK
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE any Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

  • If laptop is inactive for more than a few minutes, Firefox loses its connection and I must restart to get back online. How can I fix this?

This is a recent problem. It was working fine until a couple of weeks ago. If I restart the computer, Firefox gets online with no problem. However, having to do this every time I walk away from my desk is becoming annoying....Is there a way for me to fix this? I am not a techie but I am good at following directions, so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

your solution to my question was both helpful and not helpful it was very helpful on my computer which is a windows 7 it allowed me make some adjustment although i am for the most part really good about shutting mine down after i use it there are times that i do leave it on planning getting back to it forgetting or get caught in something else
but unfortunatly it wasn't helpful on the computer i really need to set it up on which is a windows xp home who's power options r already suppose to be set up to shut down the computer if idle for 1 hour but it never does
since posting my question i have gone through any section of help n support on that computer that pertains to it. i have also been into the microsoft support site to try and configure auto logoff n auto poweroff if computer is idle for a while but when i tried to find the files on that computer they said i needed to access to set it up don't exist and of course way at the bottom of the page is operating system this applies to and you click on it and it states for xp professional only and that the support for the xp home in this matter is no longer available on their site

  • When I have Firefox on and leave my computer on and untouched for more than about 20 mins my computer shuts down.

I get a blue message saying that the system encountered a problem and had to shut down. It then have to reboot. This problem coincided with an attack on my Yahoo my account when I was using FireFox. This has also caused an upload of a program called 'WhiteSmoke Translator' to my computer. My Internet Explorer works fine though. What can I do?

There is a similar known issue (see [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=614958 bug 614958]) that is fixed in Firefox 4.0b8 (release in a few days).
But I am not sure your issue is related. It can also be caused by a spyware or a virus. Scan your computer with anti-virus and anti-spyware softwares.

  • Firefox keeps history for more than the designated time period and opens automatically

    So i have two problems
1)my firefox history options is set to only remember last 7 days but it doesn't delete after 7 days and adds this month and previous month. If i delete only this month the entire history is deleted.
2)lately whenever my laptop goes to monitor switoff or when my computer starts up a firefox window opens automatically with no themes enabled nor any addons enabled.the home page of the firefox window is the firefox google search page..I also did a virus scan with kaspersky 2010.
    yelp!

The setting Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember visited pages for at least" refers to the number of days kept in memory (default is 90 days).
Firefox 3 and 3.5/6 versions store pages in places.sqlite on disk for 180 days by default.
    See https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Places_Expiration
You can look at these prefs on the about:config page.
http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days (180) (also affects saved form data)
http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days_min (90) (set via Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember my browsing history for at least")
    For your other problem:
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved and [[Preferences are not saved]]
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")
