Reversing Sides that Sent/Recieved Text Messages are shown
Is it ever possible that recieved text messages could be shown on the right side of the screen and texts I send on the left side of screen? If not with regular iphone how about with a jailbroken iphone?
My phone is not jailbroken nor would I ever risk doing that to my phone. I asked this question becuase I am trying to find out if I am being told the truth about something or if the text conversation that was sent to me was a fake text transcript. I really just need to know if reversing the sides is even possible at all with an iphone or if that is just completely bogus. Thank you.

My iphone was off for almost two weeks and once i cut it back on i only recieved text messages but no imessages that i KNOW were sent to my phone... is there anyway i can see them or no?
Hi,
In Messages on the Mac do you have the Preferences > Messages section set to "Save History when Conversations are Closed" ?
This will store all IMs and iMessages in ~/Library/Messages/Archive.
Use the Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder and type that path into the Dialogue box that appears. (~/Library/Messages/Archive).
They are stored in dated folders so some guessing/trail and error will be needed.
You may find that if this was an iMessage and you send the person a new message that the whole History with that Contact since you installed Mountain Lion/Started Messages may appear and that it is scrollable the closer you get to the "top" and the top may keep moving until all is on show.

My phone was recently updated to 8.1. After the update, when text messages are sent when my phone is turned off, they no longer appear when I turn the phone on. Is there something in Settings that needs to be changed?
MetsFanGirl,
Thanks for verifying. Are you having issues receiving both iMessages and standard text messages when they are sent when the phone is turned off? Try this and test... http://vz.to/1qjiOs7

Fellow iPhone users have complained that my text messages are not longer associated with my phone number. Instead, they see my texts messages as from my email address.
The problem started after I updated to iOS 7. How can I resolve this? I would rather not continue to confuse friends/family when they receive a text message from an email address they do not recognize when it was in fact sent from my phone.
Thank you.Thank you!
I think it's odd that the default setting is now your email rather than your phone, however... Very confusing for me and other iPhone users I know. -
Since upgrading to iOS7 some text messages are not being sent on my iPhone 5, iMessage on my Ipads and MacBook doesn't have my phone number registered and my reminder colour on my Iphone keeps changing ... among other things. Any suggestions to fix these faults?
Make sure People Sending you via iMessage are sending their messages on your PHONE number not on your EMAIL addresses . My sister had the same problem, thats how i managed to solve it!

Pictures sent to my iphone 6 via text messaging are stuck in downloading phase
Pictures that are being sent to me via text messaging are stuck in "downloading" phase. I can not receive any pictures on my new iphone6. Is anyone else experencing this?
Found a great post that had a bunch of possible solutions (over at https://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20131217195803AAOe6WV )
Lucky for me the first one worked--went into settings->messages and turned iMessage off, waited a few seconds, turned it back on. Images came through just fine after that. We'll see if it lasts. -
I repeat. While I was talking via land line to land line with a friend they began recieving text messages from my Iphone that I did not send. I am in the middle east and I was calling a land line in Mexico but that should not have mattered. Moreover, the person I was speaking to told me they had gotten other text messages from me that know I never sent. I called my phone company (AT&T) and was told the problem was not with the system but with my Iphone. They suggested someone was using app that mimicked my phone number. Is such a think possible?
In addition to my iphone I have an itouch. I only just today created an appleID so that I could use this message board so it seems unlikely that the problem is the result of a misused ID

what is the difference between the green text bubble that reads "sent as text message" and the blue text bubble reporting "delivered?" Is the green text bubble not delivered?
iMessages are sent using Apple servers, using either WiFi or Cellular data. They can only be sent to/from iDevices or Macs that have the Messages app. SMS messages use the cellular network. Both methods can deliver the message to the recipient.

My text messages are being sent and received with my email address instead of my phone number. How do I fix this?
This is with iMessages only.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and below the Start New Conversations From, select your cell phone number instead of your Apple ID email address. -
i shattered the screen of my iphone 4 and i switched my line back over to the iphone 3 and some of my text messages are still being sent to my old phone. What do i do?

Help! New iphone 3g not sending/recieving text messages or email!!!
Hey guys. I just got myself a 3g iphone today and im already havin issues with it. I updated to 3.1.2 right off the bat.
Well it seems that i can send email, but that seems to be about it. I can not send or recieve text messages. I can recieve email, but it will not notify me when I get a new email. The only way i can find out if i have a new email is by opening the mailbox and waiting for it to refresh.
Isnt this thing suposed to push my emails and notify me as soon as they are sent? How do i get this and my text messaging working? This is so disapointing since my wife just got a $10 phone that worked flawlesly right out of the box.
thanks all,
---JoeFirst off, Reset your iPhone. Hold down the sleep and home buttons, ignore the off slider, wait for the Apple logo to appear then let the buttons go. After it resets try to send a text message again. If it does not work there is probably an issue with your carrier and you will have to contact them.
As far as mail, do you have a MobileMe, Yahoo push, GMail push, or Exchange mail account? Because these are the only ones that will Push your mail to the iPhone. If you do have one of these make sure Push is turned on in the Mail settings. If you don't have one of these you can go to the Mail settings and specifying a mail Fetch period. -

Is it possible for your iphone to be hacked so that someone can text message people in your contacts (and send pictures)? If so can you trace the hack and how can you stop it?
Ugh I am not doing any of those things.
I do have alot of issues with my email getting hacked often, could that have anything to do with it?
I also do not believe my phone is jailbroken but to be honest I am not very smart with this.
Basically text messages (inappropriate) were sent to a person in my contacts...and a text message conversation was had for about 30 that I had no idea was even going on. I noticed it on my ipad later (they are synced and normally recieve all the same messages etc). The conversation then just ended out of no where.
Very odd...and I am nervous that someone has control over my phone.
