Reversing subcontracted finished goods that came from customer returns.

Dear Gurus,
I have a scenario where the finished goods that came from subcontracting needs to be reversed back to its components without reversing the subcontracting charges. How to process this scenario in SAP.
The subcontracting job is packing. The individual materials will be sent to vendor and vendor will return the packed finished product. The packed material will then be sold. The materials that came back as customer returns due to quality reasons is unpacked and reverted back to its components.
How to process this reverting of the packed finished goods back to its components in SAP.
I understand one thing that reversal of subcontracting GR without reversing the subcontracting charges is not possible and it is not a proper procedure. I am unable to trace a way to process this using other indivdual movement types too.

Thanks for your reply Nishant but the problem is subcontracting charges should not be cancelled. The packing job done by vendor was paid and it is irrevokable.
The Finished goods returned from customer should be reduced from inventory and its components should be added back so that we can scrap the defective components and do our further processing using the good components.
The requirement is how to process the reduction of the finished goods from inventory and add the components back to inventory in SAP.

In normal situation, SD process is....SO->DN->Post->Billing, after post the material, the goods won't exit in the plant anymore.
But there is a special business mode.....
After we sold to customer, and AR accounting document created...
But NOW the finished goods still in our plant, we wanna manage the quantity in SAP, is it possible?

No it is not possible. Once the customer is debited, you cannot show the inventory in the delivering plant which is logically wrong.

How to differentiate a packing type for Finished goods based on which customer will be invoiced ?

I need a little expertise
The requirement for my organization is Certain Finish goods packing.
Currently certain, Finished goods packaging items when send to Customer, is charged for the packaging items like Pallets , Q- Bit Boxes.
There will be a deposit fee which will appear on the customer invoice.
Moving forward they want to eliminate that deposit fee, from the customer invoice for a few of the packaging types.. (For example Pallet we would still charge the customer the same way AS_IS today but for another pack type Q-BIT boxes customer should not be charged as a deposit fee for returing the pack type.)
From Materials management perspective… At the time of order entry how do we differentiate a particular pack type so that for that a particular Pack type customer is not charged anything…
2 options I am thinking is introduce a new characteristics in Classification view for PK type.. Upon entering the order the User exit will check the characteristic in material master and customer invoice won’t be charged for the Packing item if Pack type = Q Bit..
Other one is From the Alternate Unit of Measure translation to Common Unit of measure / Sales Unit of measure.
Which one would you recommend ?

What I was suggesting was to have different material codes per pack size. If this is done, you will not need to modify anything, other than maintain condition types for the correct material codes.
In case you are leaning towards the classification approach, I will suggest having a custom calculation type added to include RV64ANNN with a check of the characteristic on a custom table. In this table, maintain the pack sizes with should be charged. The logic should turn XKOMV-KBETR = 0 if the pack size is not found in the table.

Reparation process for goods delivered back from customer for repair

Dear friends,
I have to create an "easy" process with which we can create a sort of "return from customer". This process should enable us to create us a "customer stock". So value should not be on our plant but we need to show, that there is a material received back from the customer. We also need to be able to purchase materials and then put the cost on project or internal order. Depends on the reparation.
Unfortunately, I do not have so many MM process consulting experience and would need some support from your side.

Hi,
You can follow the process, if suitable for customer repair process
A. MM01 - Define your customer materials (both component and finished product, if same create only 1 material) as non valuated material, because these materials not effecting the your inventory.
B. CS01 - Create BOM for finished product( If same maintain same material)
C. VA01 - Create sales order for service charges with reference to your customer Purcahse Order.
D. MIGO - Receive the component(if same, receive same material) from your customer through 501 E (with out po sales order specific).
E. CO01 - Create Production order with reference to sales order manually.
F. CO11N - Confirm the production order
G. MIGO - Receive the finished product/same material after repaired against Order {MT 101}
H. VL01N - Delivery to customer as in normal sales process.
I. VF01 - Then create Billing to your customer.
Note: Extra material added during repaired process on material,can be tracked in other process or can be accounted separately.

The screen saver keeps shifting back to generic picks that came from iMac

Return to vendor from customer-return stock

Hello,
I want to know how we can picture to SAP the following scenario.
Customer returns 1000 PCs, of material. At stock there are 2 PCs of the same materials with MAP 10E. So if i move the return to own stock i end up with 1002 PCs of value 10.020E.
I return the 1000 materials to the vendor, vendor pays 8000E. So in the end i have in stock 2 materials with MAP 2010E!!!
After some flows of this kind i end up with materials of MAP some millions.
Is there a movement type that i can return to vendor return-(unvaluated)-stock? Is there any other way i make this scenario in SAP?

As understood from your scenario, customer return will be finished goods. Finished Goods will be at Standard Price. This is SAP standard.
Now whatever goods movement you do, it will be at standard price.
Moving price will change when you do goods receipt from external source.
You will bill & deliver material at standard price.

In MMR i think you must have assigned a quality inspection as 06 . so at the time doing delivery , and before PGI , quality inspection took place. Now when you are doing PGR , i think you just check the goods insepction data at item level in delivery data . and remove that quality inspection 06 and then save it . then only PGR will happen .
Because you have assigned qualtiy inspection in MMR , system is checking , wheather the goods are good or not .that could be one of the reason it is not doing PGR, if u remove that 06 which is goods inspection then PGR will be done , then you can proceed further

Excess material from customer return - Free

Dear Guru,
We have the following scenario and need your expertise.
-We created a Sales order with qty of 100bags.
-Performed D/O with 100bag to customer.
-The customer had use only 98bags and returned the balance of 2 bags.(this is based on work/usage consumption report from customer as the work is done at the remote location)
-We proceed to issue credit note for the 2bags of the return.
-However, upon the physical stock arrived at our warehouse, we discovered that the actual quantity is actually 5bags.(customer don't wants the excess of 3bags as the job is completed.)
Question: How can we stock in the (extra 3bags) into our inventory from the point in SD or MM? (Note: we are not allowed to use MIGO with movment 501 or 511 due to traceability issue.)

Any way to break-up bullet lists that came from PowerPoint?

I am converting a LOT of slides over to Keynote from PowerPOint, and really need to take a PP slide that is loaded with too many bullet points and create a slide that I have complete control over the entrance and exit of each point. Importing into keynote gives me blocks of bullet points that move as one unit so I end up having to re-type tons of text in order to have the ability to make each point appear independently of the others on the slide. Does anyone know how /if this process can be streamlined?

Keynote most certainly lets you bring in bullets as single lines, and K3 adds the ability to bring in other things between bullet builds. Are you sure you don't just need to select the bullet box and then adjust the settings in the build inspector to build per bullet instead of per group?

How do I delete locked files that came from a PC from my time capsule?

I had to temporarly tansfer 200 gigabytes of files to my timecapsule as temorary storage so I could reformat a Lacie drive for a collegue. Once the files had been copied back on to the Lacie I went to delete them from my Time Capsule and it keeps on telling me I don't have permission even though I'm signed in as Admin. I've tried taking ownership of the main folder all the sub-folders and files are in but OSX won't let me. I also can't use disk utility on the time capsule as it doesn't appear within the program. Anyone have any ideas?

TM creates a sparsebundle owned by TM..
When people copy files to the TC they often see a mounted directory.. and plonk files in there.. unfortunately that just happens to be TM sparsebundle.. and that is a lobster trap.. you can copy in but once a file is in.. it can never be deleted.
Did you try a PC? It is often a case that windows explorer can delete stuff mac cannot since permissions is kind of a unix thing.. that MS has always ignored.
No luck then sorry but you need to wipe the TC .. you can of course save your TM backup (assuming you avoided putting the files in there).. and recover it back.. think of it as the same thing you did to the lacie in reverse.
