Reversion to Skype version before Version 7.2.60.1...

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have been experiencing an exceedingly irritating issue with my Skype for Windows Desktop. I have recently updated Skype to Version 7.2.60.103, and rather than improving the application, the update has done nothing but caused Skype to routinely crash, and has made it impossible for me to call any of my contacts other than the Sound Test Service without the application hanging, effectively rendering the application utterly useless. The aforementioned update appears to be the culprit, as I had no problems with Skype before I installed it. My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium, running on a 64 bit system.
I wish to revert to the version that I was using prior to Version 7.2.60.103 (I am unsure as to the exact version number of the previous version, as I can no longer check). Can I do this? And if so, How do I do so?

Yes you can, but it depends on the version you had before, as versions below 7.x is no longer downloadable from skype.com. You can download them from a 3rd party site at your own risk.
You could also post the crash report from event viewer here, and try to remedy the issue you have with the current version, to avoid future issues when the below 7.x versions are retired.
control panel > administrative tools > event viewer > custom events > administrative events look for events related to Skype (crash/application hang etc).

Skype Version 7.2.0.103 just keep crashing

I have upgraded Skype which is bacially an automatice upgrade to a version Skype Version 7.2.0.103.
Since I have upgraded my Skype Application just simply crashing. I am using WIndows 8.1 Verson.
I can open the application.
Then it stays up for about 2 min then I get the follwoing Error message:
Skype Version 7.2.0.103
First WIndows popped up and says:
Windows is checking for Solutions. >>>
Then Pops up another windwo and says the fgollowing thing >>
" Skype has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working vorrectly.
windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Debug Close program "
I have only choice to close the program.
Does any one have any solutions?

Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

Skype version 7.6 (7.6.0.409) keeps crashing

My skype keeps crashing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled in three times. After reinstallation, it seems to work ok, but now is crashing about every 60 seconds.

PC running Window Starter and SKYPE Version 7.0.73...

I have a PC running Window Starter and I am trying to use SKYPE Version 7.0.73.102.
Ever since I have upgraded to this version, I have had problems
When someone calls me, the GREEN answer button does not work.
If I call someone and they do not answer, the RED button to disconnect the call does not work, I have to close the Skype application down and re start it
If I want to finish a call, the RED button to disconnect the call does not work
I have been using SKYPE for 8 years so know how it should/used to work!!!

The issue is not incompatibility with Windows 7. but most likely with particular system configuration. This error message (Exception Offset: 00d527d7) can be caused by running Skype 7.0 version on e.g. computers with a particular Gigabyte motherboard (BIOS, chipset?).
Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit option).

Mac OS 10.9 w Skype Version 6.5.0.443 I cannot log...

I am running Mac OS 10.9 w Skype Version 6.5.0.443. I cannot login to the app with my Skype or Microsoft accounts. I can log in to both fine on the respective Webpages. So now basically, the Skype program on my Mac is unusable. BTW, I changed my password for both the accounts mroe than once. Very annoying.

After updating my skype version I am having problem during sending file. My current skype version is 7.0.0.1102 ans when I send a file to some one in my conttac they get file with whole path of where the file is save on my desktop rather then only name of file. eg. I am sending one png file named "home_screen.png" the person who get this file get "d/my/company/projects/home_screen.png"
this thing is happen after updating my skype and same prolem cuese to y collegue too.
Hope I can get proper solution for this bug.

Not known any alternatives yet. Goolge+ has some sort of function for real time videocalls, which runs on browser, without need to install anything on the background. But it's not same as Skype and it doesn't support wireless handsets.
I think there's a lack of fast working instant messenger for now. Some skilled programmers could create new P2P instant messenger to replace Skype.

I keep getting messages about a new skype version, or my skype keeps wanting to update but wont... The version I've got currently is version 6.19 (422). Is this the most latest one? Because it never actually tells you what skype version you are downloading/updating to on the website...

Just ignore the updating, Skype is maintained now according to MS standard.
See my post about "NO to upgrades". The problem is that there are different versions for every platform, and they have no release policy, so the moment a new version is made for MS Windows, they try to do the same on all the other platforms.
Sorry Skype, but learn quickly never to touch anything that works. So upgrading is something you should never do, that may render you Skype useless. If it works, do not touch it. If it fails, go look for an old version that works. The novelty they have introduced is more bugs and slower systems, integration with Microsoft accounts (which I do not have) and they are probably working hard to replace servers out in the net, with their servers which is doomed to be a disaster.
Never change software that works!

Desktop API functionality in newer Skype version (...

I work for a company that uses Desktop API to enable our devices to use call controls in Skype Desktop. All seems to be working up to Skype version 6.20.0.104. Newer version of Skype still have support, but returns values are now unexpected, and has broken our solution.
Consider the code below snippet for holding a call. I check if the active call has clsInProgress status. With newer version of Skype, the status is always clsRinging.

Need the older skype version

Hi everyone. I've been experiencing some issues with the newest skype version lately and i could barely use it. I was so confused trying to get used to it and still can't. Thing is, I use my skype for business. I haven't been getting contact requests since 10th of january which was because I had and older version installed. Over 49 contact requests didn't reach me. So if anyone could help out, would love getting a download link for a 6.9 (or any similar) version of skype that can show contact requests. Would really appreciate it.

What prevents you from using the latest 7.1 from www.skype.com/go/download ?
We'd preferrably like to address any issue you face with the latest version via an update than having you use outdated older versions.
