Once a text or bitmap object is converted to a symbol, is
there any way to restore it to its original object type - i.e.
UN-convert to symbol?

Yes select the symbol and choose MODIFY > SYMBOL >

Is there a way to move files from one folder to another without copying and pasting and then going back to delete the original? The cut and paste function is not available and there's no "move to" function. Am I missing something? It was so easy with Windows.

Unfortunately, that's the way the cookie crumbles nowadays. Sir Jony Ive's GUI design for iOS7 has been met with much skepticism (to say the least). But until the company sees the compelling need for an adjustment or reversal, it "ain't happenin' ". So amble over to the feedback page ( http://www.apple.com/feedback/ ) and make your displeasure known to the company, OR make it known by not purchasing its products. Because as long as the iGadgets continue selling as fast as they can make them, they will see no need for change.
BTW, do note you are NOT talking to Apple here. This is just a user-to-user forum.
Edit: for now, you can also try out any of the alternate calendaring apps available in the App Store.

- You do have iTunes version 11 on the computer, right. Saying the latest is not sufficient.

Reverting a file back

Hey everyone,
I was editing a clip in Audition CS6 and when I reopened the session I noticed that audio was missing. I went back to the original file on my computer and found that this too was changed. I tried to go into the file and clip 'restore previous versions' but there was nothing there.
Is there anything I can do to get this audio file back to it's original state?
Note: I'm working on a PC.

I'm afraid not. Once a file has been saved, and Audition is closed, then all previous versions are lost. This is because they sit in the temp file whist the file is being operated on (so restoration is possible), but when Audition closes, the temp file is closed too. You can't keep old temp files - they get enormous. So any file worked on in Audition's waveform editor and saved has permanent changes. The multi-track editor is different - that only makes replay changes to files, so the files themselves aren't altered.
On all material that is irreplaceable, you should only work with a copy, not the original.

Microsoft Office? The applications themselves go into Applications>Microsoft Office 2011.
Why did you move them? You may need to install anew if you've moved the applications in the suite.

Getting safari back to it's original state

Hi, everyone I'm hoping that someone can possibly help me. About an hour ago I accidentally downloaded something called genien that was a pain to try and get off my computer. It was set as my safari'a default and when I went in to change it, it made my safaris home screen plain white. I would really like to get it back to it's original state which was my top resent viewed sites. Also, does anyone know how I can make sure that bug is completely off my computer? Please help ):

Select the compound clip and do Clip->Break Apart Clip Items (or Cmd-Shift-G).

I received a file I couldn't read (as I am running CS6) so I downloaded a trial version of CC to read the file and save it to CS6. But after that, CC subsumed my CS6 as the default application and without me realizing it saved 14 of my source packaged files as CC—now I cannot open them. I am furious! What can I do? Yes, you didn't mention which Creative Cloud tools or trials you were using, but Cozmicone is right – for most Adobe CC apps you can downsave the file back to be openable in older CS6, CS5, CS4 or CS3 versions of the programs... although newer features that weren't present in earlier releases will not be supported.

I migrated my macbook with my macpro and have had nothing but problems. How can I get the Pro back to it's original state? Idvd, garageband don't work anymore since I migrated and the error I'm getting I'm sure are from the software that I had on my laptop. Boot from your OS X Installer Disc One that came with the computer. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Proceed with the installation until you reach the screen where you select a destination disk. Click once on the destination drive then click on the Options button. Select the Erase and Install option and click on the OK button. Finish the installation. After you complete the startup manager double-click on the Install Bundled Software icon on the OS X Installer Disc One. This will enable you to reinstall all the bundled applications that came with the computer.
