Revert/Reset placed document/image to original size?

In InDesign CS4 or CS5, can you revert/reset a placed document/image back to the origional size it was when it was origionaly placed?

Do you know what size it was when placed?
The only way I can find to be able to reset a frame to the size it was when it was created is to set the preference for "When Scaling:" to "Adjust Scaling Percentage" and then resetting to 100% will take you back to the correct size, but not necessarily the original position as this is just another transformation, not a reversion to anything. The BIG downside to this setting, in my opinion, is that if you scale a text frame, the listed font size won't change, nor will stroke weights be listed correctly on scaled objects, which can lead to a lot of head scratching.

  • Reset image to original size shortcut

Does anyone know if there is a keyboard shortcut to "reset image to original size". Sometimes i have a table full of sliced images in a template and they all need reset and its a pain to click and click and click. ...Or do you know any workarounds for this kind of problem?

    thanks!

Right click on image.  Select Re-set Size from list.
Or, remove the height and width from img tags with Find & Replace.

  • SOLVED!!!!!!!!!Placing an Image in original login.jsp

    Hi all,
I solved the problem of placing an image in original login.jsp
Hope this will be usefull for all who will be trying to edit the original longi.jsp:
====>Place your image in the following folder:
    C:\installations\Oracle_Infra(Your oracle_home)\portal\images
you place your image some-where else it will not be displayed .....
    Hope this will be usefull!!!!
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mallikarjun

Well, you are quite right to put images in this place.
However, two points can be noted here:
    1. This works with the assumption that your portal repository is in the infra-database. in cases of customer databases, you may have other folders which would be able to run the images from a similar folder in their respective homes.
    2. Additionally, you can place your images anywhere on your servers and still have them working if you use an alias for the image folder location!
    hope that helps.

  • Simple question - make an image the original size

Hello everyone. I have a very simple question. How do I make an image that I have inserted into a pages document display at the original image size. I have selected the image, brought up the inspector and selected the Graphic inspector but it does not seem to give you that option.
You would have thought this would be easy wouldn't you? I am seriously considering going back to microsoft office at this rate!!!

    Hello
    Don't drop Pages for that
If the picture is not at its original size a button is active.
If the picture is at its original size the same button is greyed.
If it is too simple, you may *go to "Provide Numbers Feedback" in the "Numbers" menu*, describe what you wish.
Then, cross your fingers, and wait for iWork'09

  • Print dialog is not showing the correct Print Preview document, image, or artboard sizes; printer is printing incorrectly

This is what the Print Dialog looks like. The print preview is too small. The final printed images are coming out all wrong.
This is happening for ALL DRIVERS (5 different printers) and 2 different USERS in our company.
It doesn't matter if you change the Media Size or any of the other settings here in the "Print" dialog, the "Page Setup..." dialog, the printer's own "Setup..." settings, etc... it's like Illustrator is using the wrong Artboard size. And why is there so much dark gray area around the page in the Print Preview? It looks really messed up.
We need this fixed immediately. This is a crazy bad bug... we can't print!
    Illustrator: 8.1.1
Computer: MacBook Pro Retina Mid 2012 OS X version 10.10.1

It's a bug in Illustrator.  See this post:
Illustrator print preview is not displaying the preview properly. Any clue as to why?

  • Photogene2 not importing images at original size

Photogene2 is a very nice app for editing photos. Much more functional than the pathetic photoshop app. However.... Every time I try to import a high resolution image to edit, it will automatically import the image as being no larger than the screen size of my ipod touch (960x640). Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?
I also have the weird problem of never being able to find images in google images search for anything larger than my screen size, even if i use google classic or advanced search and specify images only larger than 1024x768.
These problems seem related in that my ipod touch refuses to display or even let me search for images larger than the screen size. The only way i've been able to so far is downloading them from my dropbox. That is not a solution to this annoying issue.

How are you inporting the photos? If syncing them iTunes optimozes the size for the iPod and there is nothing you can do.
For the other problem of image search, try using another browser. Some of them allow you to setup the browser to say that it is computer's browser via a mobile browser.

  • Report images in Report Viewer are shown in original size

I have a strange problem with embedded report images. I have inserted few images to report and set their size to FitProprtional. When I run the report in BIDS (VS 2008)  the rendered image is shown as it is supposed. When I install the report to CRM
2013 Online environment and run the report the report viewer shows the images in original size. But when the report is exported to PDF or Word the images are displayed the size I want them to be shown. Good thing is that the reports are ment to be used as
printed, but it is quite annoying to the users when they preview the reports in report viewer.
    Cheers,

    Any ideas to this?

  • Unshrink or revert image back to original size after adding headers.

I add headers to PDF files and it shrinks the document so that the header doesnt overwrite them.
When I remove the headers, is it possible to unshrink or revert the image back to the original size?

  • How to restore original size of placed and fitted image?

If an image is placed to the frame, fitted to it, file saved. When I open it again, is there the way to restore the original size of the image?
Thank you in advance for any help.
    Vera

By which Simon means change the values in the scaling fields of the Control panel or Transform panel to 100%.
You'll also almost certainly need to do something with the frame, like "Fit frame to content" or at least select it with the regular selection tool and adjust the cropping.

  • Hero Images Revert to Original Size After Being Resized

    Hi,
I have read many forum questions about resizing hero images in slideshows, but I'm having a slightly different problem:
In order to have larger images in my slideshow I have been resizing the hero images to 500px height one by one (as I can't seem to find a way to edit all hero images together).
But now I am finding that images I have already made larger have reverted back to their original size. This is without exiting the program or even changing windows.
This is already a time consuming process as I'm working on an artist's site and there are multiple slideshows with dozens of images each.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
    Thanks!

  • Problems in placing .jpg images - size shrinks

    Hi,
I have been working with InDesign for years and this is the first time I encouterred the following problem. Currently I am creating an online document with InDesign CS5.5.
The problem is that when I place (ctrl + D) an image (.jpg), some of them seem to "shrink" from their original size and become totally pixelated.
My original image is 192 x 380 px and it was placed as 46.08 x 91.2 px
I don't understand what might be the problem. For some of my images it seems to do this and for some not. There are some images that I have previously placed succesfully and then these same images are now shrinked when I place them. Could this be a setting change? I have tried everything, but nothing seems to work.
    Very puzzled.
    Any suggentions?
    Miiagod

A 192 x 380 pixel  image scaled at 100% that also measures 192 x 380 pixels on the ID page has to have an actual resolution of 72ppi:
If the actual ppi is different (100 ppi below) and the scale is 100% then the ID object pixel width and height has to change:

  • Placed FW asset into Muse. Original Size = 908w x 2323h. Muse auto resampled to 800w x 2048h. I need the asset to remain at Original Size. How do I override the resample?

Placed FW asset into Muse. Original Size = 908w x 2323h. Muse auto resampled to 800w x 2048h. I need the asset to remain at Original Size. How do I override the resample?

    Hello,
Its a Muse property to re-sample any asset that is more than 248 px.
To get rid of re-sampling do the following
    1. Please click on the image and Make Sure Image Frame is selected.
    2. Go to The Transform tab and change width and height to the original values. (now you will observe that the width and height of image frame is changed but not the Image)
    3. Double click on the image and make sure Image is selected with a red selection around it.
    4. Go to The Transform tab and change width and height to the original values. (now you will observe that the width and height of image frame is same as  the Image)
    5. Now go to the assets tab > right click on the asset > select "Import larger size".
Now this asset will always be imported in original size.
    Regards

  • Return an image to its original size?

    Hi everyone,
When trying to sort layouts in indesign I'm very often scaling pictures until they fit in the page correctly. But is there a way to reset the original size of the image without having to re-import when I want to try a different size?
    Thanks,
    Chris

The reason for not using that is it scales text wrap amounts and does strange things to the listed weights for strokes and font sizes when objects have been scaled.
If you select the image itself (direct select tool, or double-click in CS5), you should see the current scale percentage in the horizontal and verical scale fields on the control panel. Reset to 100%, then fit frame to content.
