Revert to itunes 10.7- recovering recently added songs/playlists

I reinstalled 10.7 and used the previous library as per the instructions here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4559563?start=15&tstart=0, and didn't have any trouble getting the old version to work...however, I lost all the songs and playlists that had been added after that library was created, which was several months ago.  Is there any way to get those back?  The songs can be manually added again, but it would be difficult because they're sorted  in the music folder and I don't know which were new since then.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks. This may work for the iPod and iPad although I'm not terribly interested in reorganizing all the apps and data on both devices unless absolutely necessary. Also, this does not address the problem of not being able to access the library over the LAN from other computers running iTunes.

    File > New Smart Playlist
Call it "Recently Added" and make the rule that date added is in the last 2 weeks (or your preference for "recent").

  • In iTunes I accidentally deleted my "Recently Added" wheel playlist.  How do I get it back?

I was trying to clean up my playlists in iTunes and in doing so accidentally deleted my "Recently Added" wheel playlist.  I really want it back so I can see what I have recently added when I download or open things in iTunes.  Is there any way to get this wheel back?

Forget question.  Just saw solution elsewhere on this site.

  • How do I get my ipod to play a playlist from reverse order? (Start with recently added song instead of first added)

How do I get my ipod to play a playlist from reverse order? (Start with recently added song instead of first added)
So I'm adding new songs to a very old playlist? Is there anyway that when I add them, they automatically go to top of playlist? How about getting one song to the top of a playlist.  That drag to arrange function is very annoying because it is slow and the playlist does not scroll up very well on a PC.

Make a new playlist by pressing the little plus button at the very lower left corner of iTunes. An new playlist will appear in the Source pane called "untitled playlist". While the name is highlighted, you can change it to whatever you want. Drag all of the tracks from all the albums that comprise a single book to that playlist. Sync that playlist to your iPod.

  • How can i organise my tunes in order of ***most recently added to playlist***. Playlist, NOT library!

    Hi everyone,
this is my first ever post on a dicusion board so lets see...
i would like to know how to, if it is possible... to organise my songs of a playlist to show my most recently added songs (to my playlist, not library) at the top and so on.
all of my music has been on the mac for a while so it orders is on date added to LIRBRARY and not when i added it to my playlist.
i want to see my recently added songs of my playlist first.
is this possible and if so can someone help me please!
    Thanks
    Mez

    Hi Mez,
Are you talking about a regular playlist, not a smart playlist?
If you drag a song to playlist to add it, the song will be added at the end of the list.
So to reverse the order and have the most recently added song first, just select the playlist and display it in list view. Click the triangle in the header row of the leftmost column showing the numbers and revert the play order.
    have fun

  • Lost recently added songs?

hi...i don't have a recently added songs anymore. it disappeared from both my ipod and on my itunes. is there any way to restore it? thanks!

In iTunes go to File>New Smart Playlist
    Recently Added:
Match the rule "Date Added">"is in the last">"1">"Days" make the days and the interval to suit yourself, you can have days, weeks or months.
Check the box "Live Updating" Then update your iPod
You can read more about smart playlists here:How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes

  • How do I delete the recently added songs "List is getting to large

I am unable to find ,how to delete the "RECENTLY Added" songs after having  moved them to the various ctegories I selected

The Recently Added playlists in iTunes is a Smart Playlist.  So in order to remove songs from this list you need to either wait until the song is no longer qualified to be listed in the Smart Playlist (more on that in a minute) or you need to adjust the rules out the Smart Playlist accordingly.
Either way though, this playlist hardly takes up any available hard drive space as it is just a list of pointers to your actual song files and not duplicate entries or anything of the sort that would be eating up significant amounts of drive space.
If you'd like, you can edit the rules out this Smart Playlist in iTunes to contain a smaller set of tracks or change the Date Added rule to only keep songs from a smaller time frame to help reduce the size of this playlist.  To do this, right->click on the Recently Added playlist and select Edit Smart Playlist. A new window show pop up.
In this window, you can the Date Added rule so that it contains tracks that were added in the past X (X being a number of your choice) number of days, weeks, or months.  You can also enable the Limit to X (X again being a number of your choice) rule to contain a smaller or larger number of items, GBs, MBs, hours, or minutes. To enable it, simply place a tick mark next to the rule.
When you are finished editing the playlist, click the OK button. If you did make any changes, the list should update dynamically immediately and will continue to do so as time goes on.

  • Album art and recently added songs not syncing to ipod.

They've synced before, but now when I've given album art to every song it doesn't sync. Nor have recently added songs. Nowhere to be seen on my ipod.
Then, on top of that, no matter how many times I've restored, authorized, and played around with my account, it randomly doesn't sync songs that I've bought from Itunes.
Help would be so, so much appreciated.

Are you syncing all music or selected playlists?

  • How do I add specific podcasts to the Recently Added Smart Playlist?

    Well,
I guess the question is very self-explanatory, still; I subscribe to several podcast, most of them are news and I have a couple of them that are music that I'd like to add to the Recently Added Smart Playlist.
By default the this playlist has the criteria Media Kind is not Podcast, so when I specify a podcast it'll not appear and if I remove this criteria, all the podcasts will appear which of course I don't want. I could just specify every single podcast I don't want but the problem would be that I'd have to keep editing the playlist everytime I subscribe to a new one; a thing I don't feel very comfortable with.
I tried using subcriteria but the Media Kind is not Podcast just overrules everything I add afterwards.
I'll really appreciate any help you can give me. I'm attaching a screenshot with the lastest config I put in–which doesn't work–so you can give yourselves an idea of what I'm doing.

It is a mixed playlist and finally I came up with an answer; it might sound strange but I woke up from a nap with all correct settings figured out.
    This is what I did:
I had to specify a subset for every podcast or I would end up with every episode available on my library which in turn would reach the limit I set but that's OK. I noticed though, that podcast won't sync to iTunes Match, which is a bummer, but still they sync over Wi-Fi. This is what I got finally:
    Thanks for all your help!

  • Modifying recently added song list

    iTunes 9.0
is it possible to customise the recently added song list?
I have imported a lot of albums in one go but only want some of the albums to show up in recently added. I was hoping I could remover some of the albums from the recently added list, is there a way to do this?
    Christo

Oh, I just discovered how to create a smart playlist. Cool.

  • Syncing only recently added songs

Is there a way to sync my ipod and only add the newly downloaded song from my playlist, but keep the old songs on the ipod? When I tried to sync only "checked songs", they were the only ones on the ipod. All the song that were there were deleted.

I always have a backwards way to do things--someone else comes along with something much more efficient--but as long as your iPod is set up to be manually updated--I would just make a quick playlist of the recently added songs and drag it on top of the iPod. That way--everything else should stay intact and the new songs will get added. Beware, this is a playlist--so if you're searching by playlists or adding by playlists--make sure you've named this list something that you can easily identify!

  • IN THE MOBILE APP: RECENTLY ADDED SONGS SHOULD BE ABLE TO LAND AT THE TOP OF ANY PLAYLIST

IN THE MOBILE APP: RECENTLY ADDED SONGS SHOULD BE ABLE TO LAND AT THE TOP OF ANY PLAYLISTS BY DEFAULT IN SETTINGS. NOT ON THE BOTTOM AS ITS BEEN SINCE THE START IN 2008.
IT'S POSSIBLE TO DO SO ON A COMPUTER BUT I DOES NOT TRANCEND TO MOBILE DEVICES SUCH AS IPHONE. WHY???
IT BUGS ME EVERYTIME I'M FORCED TO SCROLL DOWN THROUGH 100s OF SONGS IN A PLAYLIST JUST TO PLAY THE MOST RECENTLY ADDED SONG IN THE SAME PLAYLIST.

  • Songbird Damaged iTunes Meta Data and Recently Added List. Best way to fix?

    Hello, Apple forums.
A while ago (Long enough to fix some of the broken Meta data), I tried out Songbird as an alternative for when I'm gaming and want a little extra resources.
Unfortunately, I set it up to sync between iTunes and Songbird, and Songbird "updated" my iTunes information and removed META data in the process for any song played on Songbird.
It also had the recently added moved to "Songbird > Recently Added," and proceeded to fill it with every song in my library.
My music is stored on a Western Digital MyBook external HDD (320GB) formatted to FAT32.
I have fifteen playlists, and would like to retain ratings and play counts on the songs.
My library reads "8196 songs, 19:15:40:31 total time, 50.13"
Granted, a couple hundred of these are the ones missing the META data and are broken entries (IE has all the data listed but does not have the file where it should be) and their META-less version added from %library%\music\unknown artists\unknown album\
(The tracks retain their real name with the track number prefixing them, it's just a matter of going through all of the songs and matching them up)
Given that this is as it is, how should I go about this?
I would also like to keep the apps for my 2nd Gen iPod Touch (iOS Pois0ned 4.2.1).
All music is either imported from a CD or an independent artist.
I don't have access to all of the CD's, nor do I particularly want to manually re-add everything.
I am more concerned with the recently added playlist being fixed! I understand that I will have to cut my losses on the META data!

I thought you said Songbird had removed metadata. Most files carry metadata in a tag. If a file "goes missing" because another program chooses to relocate it iTunes will retain an entry in the library with all that information. The FindTracks script makes a bash at locating the moved files in a number of alternate locations, including the unknown artist/unknown album folder or the main Music folder. If the files have actually had metadata removed, but have a tag, then iTunes will read the damaged data and update itself. Not necessarily what you want. For files that are in a logical artist/album layout but don't have tags you could be better off repairing tags first with, for example, MediaMoney's AutoTag from Filename feature.

I had to look up RAT. I'm guessing you meant something like remote admin/access tool. By all means be wary of anything recommended on this site but to accuse me of being underhand without any evidence is hardly the way to start a fruitful conversation. I thought you wanted help here...
