Reverting back to Aperture 2?

I own a photo studio and I stupidly updated our old Aperture 2 library without making a copy in case we wanted to revert back....I would like to go back to Aperture 2 for my own personal reasons and was wondering if there were any way to revert the Aperture 3 library back to an Aperture 2 library?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Not without a back up, no.
The best you can do is create a new Ap 2 Library and start over from scratch.

  • How do I revert back to Aperture from Photos?

I opened up my Aperture library in Photos since I was under the impression that it was replacing iPhoto and Aperture, but was disappointed to find a large number of Aperture editing features missing.  I suppose this means I need to find a replacement like Adobe Lightroom, but I was hoping to go back to Aperture while I researched alternatives.  When I opened Aperture back up my library was empty.  I know it's on my computer somewhere, so I'm not panicking, but what are the steps to get your old Aperture library out of Photos and back into Aperture? Thanks!

I upgraded to Yosemite and I was shocked that the OS don't let me use Aperture anymore. The app is still installed on my computer but the OS refuses to start it. Now I have to use the useless Photos app. This is not an upgrade but a downgrade, because Photos misses essential features, for instance comparing two pictures next to each other, good advanced searching by keywords (i.e. with more than one search field), easy editing of keywords, applying keywords to a collection of pictures instead of one, like Aperture does, etc etc. Apple forces users to downgrade to Mavericks or to buy Adobe Lightroom. It is a SHAME.
I want one of these things:
    - A better Photos with (at least) the functionality of Aperture. Otherwise it is not an upgrade!
    - Use Aperture again under Yosemite. Does anyone know a trick to do this?
    Apple PLEASE!

  • TS2518 How can I revert back to the original Aperture 3?

How can I revert back To my oraginal Aperture 3? 3.4.1 has screwd everything up for me!

That will be tricky, if you already upgraded your Aperture library to version 3.4.1.
You need to restore an earlier version of your Aperture Library from your backup.
You need to restore an earlier Aperture version.
How did you buy Aperture? Do you have installation media or a serial number for Aperture 3?
And do you have a TimeMachine backup of your Aperture Library or a vault?
What is the problem with your current Aperture Library? Maybe it will be easier to fix your current system then to downgrade.

  • I lost my color, how do i revert back to color?

i lost my color, how do i revert back to color?

    It's works for iPhoto 9.4.6.
It also works for the last current non-beta release 9.4.3 -  but that is what I meant be "Short of modifying the iPhoto application itself." It is a neat trick and I posted a similar set of icons for aperture, but it is somewhat risky, IMHO.
Chipncut: You will need to modify the applications bundle, and do it again and again with every software update. I simply got tired of it, after doing it a few times.
And don't even think of trying it, before making sure your backup is in working condition.

  • Raw fine tuning reverts back to older version

    HI
I've spent the last couple of days editing several hundred files, they were originally imported before AP2 was released, so would have been using RAW file tuning version 1.1.
However I selected each one individually Removed all adjustments, which automatically gives it the Version 2 Raw Fine Tuning.
Today when I review the edited files, they have all reverted back to Raw Fine Tuning 1.1, the adjustments are still there, however the Recovery and Black Point sliders are greyed out. I'm using the Nikon D2Xs, so I know Version 2 is compatible.
Any ideas as to how this happened would be most welcome, and how to resolve this without having to go through each file again individually.
As a side note, there are a few files which have retained the Version 2 decoding, I am suspecting that these are one's where I have manually selected the decode rather than automatically via Remove All Adjustments.
    Thank for any advice.

What do you mean by 'migrating them'. I was under the impression that when Aperture 2 was first installed, it automatically migrated everything in the library.
Definitely NOT, thank the deity-of-your-choice! That would mean that all your old images would change appearance, in some cases drastically. Given that what you see in Aperture are effectively 'virtual' images that don't exist as regular files until you export them this would be a mess-up of monumental proportions.
All RAW files adjusted using the old RAW 1.1 decoding continue to use 1.1 until you change them, either by 'manually' choosing a different version of the decoding engine in the RAW Fine Tuning adjustment brick or by going to File>Migrate Images...

  • Can you revert back to iPhoto once you updated to Photos

Can you revert back to iPhoto once you updated to Photos?

Can you revert back to iPhoto once you updated to Photos?
The update to Photos leaves iPhoto installed, and also lets the iPhoto Library compatible with iPhoto. It creates a new Photos Library, that is sharing the photos with the iPhoto Library, so it will not need much extra space. You can use both libraries independently of each other. Edits you do in either library will not be visible in the other.
Photos saves disk space by sharing images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries - Apple Support
Just do not uninstall iPhoto or delete the library, if you want an option to revert back. Also, make a full backup before doing the upgrade.

  • Reverting back to 10.6.2 with Time Capsule Restore

I am running a Mac Book Pro, and recently upgraded to 10.6.3. Strange things have started happening to my MBP since upgrading and I wanted to revert to OSX 10.6.2 (for trouble-shooting purposes). Is it possible to 'down-grade' to a previous release by restoring from a Time Capsule backup that was taken when the o/s was at that revision? If so, has anyone got any simple instructions (steps) I can follow to do this?
    Many thanks in advance.

Great joy - my MBP is back after downgrading to 10.6.2 (via 10.6.0) from 10.6.3.
I have an MBP - late 2009 - 15.4", 2.66ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, , 4gb memory, 500gb HDD. Recently updated (via Software Update) to 10.6.3 from 10.6.2 and that's when my problems started. It would not restart, I had to press power button 10+ times to get it to boot, it would drain the battery after I shut it down and a few other 'strange' things.
I reset SMC but to no avail.
I then decided to revert back to 10.6.2 and see whether the problems were really linked (IMO) to 10.6.3 update.
    Steps I went through to down-grade :
    1. backed up my MBP to my time capsule.
    2. Then inserted Snow Leopard upgrade CD.
    3. Selected install Snow Leopard/Repair. The MBP then rebooted from CD. I followed on screen questions, and it went into Installation (got slightly worried that it was doing a full install I hadn't selected the Repair option from the drop down menu, but maybe because I'd already selected this option before the MBP rebooted it didn't seem to matter).
    4. Re-installed 10.6.0 which took about 50 minutes.
    5. Ran 'repair disk permissions' in disk utility which took about 7 mins.
    6. Applied 10.6.2 Combo update having previously downloaded it
..... and normal service appears to have been resumed on my MBP. And all my personal data was still on the hard drive.
I then ran Software Update just to see what other patches, etc were available, but did not install any of them as I wanted to see what effect applying raw 10.6.2 had on my desire to restore normal service. I have a fairly simple installation - Photoshop, Light Room, Aperture, mail, Office for Mac - all seem to work. The only thing that went missing was Firefox, but for me that's no great issue. I will selectively apply updates and monitor impact (but will not be installing the 10.6.3 update from Software Update as this seem to have been the cause of my issues).
My MBP now restarts correctly, does not appear to drain the battery after shutting down, boots on the first press of the power button (had to press it 10+ times to get it to boot). So am very happy that my machine seems to be ok.
Therefore I have not needed to restore from Time Capsule backup after all.
Thanks for all the messages of help.

  • Reverting back the 64-bit operation

I tried out Noise Ninja plug-in with a photo and this converted Aperture 3 to a 32-bit application. Now when trying to edit any photos all the adjustment options are grayed out. How can I revert back to a 64-bit application? Anyones help would be appreciated.

To set the program back to 64-bit mode:
Quit Aperture and then select the Aperture.app file in the Applications folder > press Command + I to Get Info on the file > deselect the 'Open in 32-bit mode' option > restart Aperture.
Note - one other thing that can create the issue you are seeing is having 'Quick Preview' turned on. Pressing the 'P' key toggles this on and off.

  • How do I revert back to Ios 6.  My Iphone 4 cannot support IOS 7.  I wish somebody had mentioned this before I upgraded.

Caught up in the frenzy, I updated my Iphone 4 to IOS 7.  Didn't realize (nor did I hear from Apple) that my phone is too slow to support features on IOS7.  It is now super sluggish and has some annoying features.  I am so unhappy.  Tried to revert back to IOS6 but it seems the "window" to do that has closed.  Is there anything else I can do?  I really don't want to buy a new phone - this has been more than adequate for my needs.  I feel like Apply is forcing people to upgrade their devices by doing this.  Any suggestions?

There is no suported way to do this. Apple never has, and never will, support going back to a previous release of iOS 7.
I can only suggest you go through the supported channels.
    First, leave feedback at www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.
Second, call Apple support and file a problem.
Third, visit a local Apple store and see if they can help you at the Genius bar.
Forth, lesson learned. Never do an upgrade before visiting these discussion forums and getting a sense for how well the new release is being accepted. Keeping in mind of course that there are hundreds of millions of iPhone and IPads out there. I read just earlier that over 200 million iPads and iPhone were sold just last year. So of course we all need to factor in that posts to these forums represent a very small fraction of the total number of  iPhone and iPad users.

  • TS5223 After my iphone updated to ios7, it reverted back to my old icloud account which I do not know the password, do not have access to the email it sends the reset to and the reset for security options say my birthday information is wrong.

Help!!! I've lost all of my contacts and information after the ios7 update. After the update I plugged my phone into my MacBook and it reverted back to my old icloud account. I checked my MacBook and everything on there is connected to my new icloud account. I'm not sure why this has happened, but I have been trying for two days to get my new icloud account back. My phone won't allowe to log out of the icloud account it is logged into because I don't know the password. Simple solution, reset the password. Not so simple. I don't have the email address associated with the account anymore. So I attempted the security question option. When I entered my birthdate, it said that it was incorrect. I have tried multiple times and nothing will work. Can someone please help me??

If you don't know your password, don't know your security questions and don't have a rescue address or don't receive a reset email, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

My APPLE ID is NOT working properly. I am frustrated beyond belief I have tried time and time again to change my apple ID and it keeps reverting back to my original ID!! I even set up a new email to try to submit a new id and it still does not work

To change your Apple ID, follow these steps:
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com), click "Manage your Apple ID", and sign in.
If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID. If you are unable to receive messages at your trusted device, follow the guidelines for what to do if you can't sign in with two-step verification.
In the "Apple ID and Primary Email Address section," click Edit.
Enter the email address you want to use, then  click Save Changes. Apple will send a verification email to that  address.
Open the  email  from Apple, then click Verify Now in the email.
When the My Apple ID page opens, sign in with your renamed Apple ID.
If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID.
After you see a message indicating that verification is complete, remember to update all of the stores and services that you use with your  Apple ID.
