Reverting to former O/S

Hi guys, Hope you can help. I recently upgraded from OSX Tiger to Leopard (placing Leopard on a separate hard drive) like many Mac users. Everything went ok. However my questions are:
1. Having used an upgrade path can I still use Tiger by making it my startup drive or does upgrading from it stop me using it?
2. If I can't use the original drive I upgraded from, can I use a clone of it which I made prior to the upgrade?
regards Denis

Hi Roger, I followed your instructions and Tiger started up OK (obviously the upgrade path wasn't a problem. Thank you again for your help, it's nice to have the option of Tiger just in case I have any problems during the early period of using the new OSX. Leopard is working fine and is definitely much faster than Tiger, but as we all know it's early days and some people are still having nightmares with it.
Thanks again for your prompt replies and valuable advice.

  • Reverting USER FORMS back to "Empty" or "Default Page"

    Hi all,
    I could really use some help with my situation here.
    I have designed my User Form in such a way that it handles *"Employee Recruitment"* Process in an easy and straightforward way.
    My User Form has two main Tabs : *"Employee Joining the Company"* and *"Employee Leaving the Company"*.
    In other words : IN and OUT process.
    The first tab is used to Create the Employee "file", and also update his current Status (if any thing changes while he is employed by the company).
    The second tab deals with his Leaving the company (if he either resigns, or is kicked out).
    So far, so good.
    However, sometimes, an employee is hired only on a "Temporary" basis. Meaning, a "fixed-term" contract. So, when his contract is up, he leaves the company.
    But, what if he decides to COME BACK (or, if he is again re-hired by the company)?
    To make it easier, we do not delete any employee's records from our IDM system (even after he has left the company). So, if he ever returns to work, his "*username"* is still in the IDM system, and can be revived.
    But.............therein lies the problem. If an employee returns, we need to initiate an entirely new CREATE process for him.
    Also, if he leaves the company again (for the second time), this requires a new OUT process.
    (a) Is it possible to initiate a new CREATE-process for a user, whose "username" already exists in IDM? In other words, he has already been "created";
    How could I "erase" the previous "Employee IN" User Form, and re-input everything with a fresh, empty form?
    (b) similarly, how can I "erase" everything from the OUT-form?
    In a nutshell : is there anyway to revert BACK to an empty User Form (default field values (zero)) ?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi chapo.
    thanks for your reply.
    *> I assume that when a person leaves the company that their rights in various application will be either disabled or disabled then deleted after a period of time. When this occurs this should remove most of the applications that a user is assigned to and resolve a potential security issue of a returning contractor having access to applications from a previous engagement*
    Yes, this is true. Our IDM system is linked to other Resources (particularly Active Directory and LDAP). Naturally, when a user's account is DISABLED in IDM, this will also disable all accounts and access-rights in other systems.
    *> In regard to the other information that may be stored. You could create an extended attribute that flags the user when they leave the company. When the person rejoins the company the form then resets attributes based on the existance or otherwise of the flag.*
    This is the part that interests me the most. Because : I need the User Form to be "RESET".............in other words, all attributes set back to Default (a fresh, empty form), so the CREATE and UPDATE processes can begin afresh.
    Please, could you specify how I could do this?

  • Reverting form response to earlier date

    Hi,
    I have accidentally edited some responses on my form and close the form which resulted the original responses being replaced. How can i revert saved form responses to an earlier date so i can retrieve past responses?
    Thank you

    You can use the History button to go "back in time".  Open your form and go to the View Responses tab.  In the lower right of the window is the History button.
    Once the history button is clicked you should see a timeline appear at the bottom of the window.
    Click on one of the empty circles to see your previous data.
    To revert the data you will need to either jot down the correct values or export the data then manually update the information.  To export the data go to the date with the correct data and use menu item Export Responses.  You will then need to open the resulting file in an appropriate application and then manually update the fields in FormsCentral.

  • OIM 11GR2 - mechanism for restoring default adf user forms - create user

    Hi All
    Our developers has pubkished multiple OIM sandbox and create user form is broken
    : the user creation form does not appear - only a html <div> tag .
    The developer reverted the form using the em/console - then he ran the catalog sync job but all he can acheive is a blank form not the original user create forms
    How do we restore the forms to thier original state.
    Thanks

    Not sure if this helps. But try these steps mentioned in the developer's guide. Once I did some UI customization in identity console and could not load my page after that. I followed these steps and was successfully able to restore it back. You can give a try and in step 6 try to select some known sandbox name which did not have any issues.
    1. Login to Oracle Enterprise Manager.
    2. In Application Deployments, select oracle.iam.ui.console.self-service.ear.
    3. On the top-right of the page, select Application Deployment, and then select MDS Configuration from the list.
    4. At the bottom of the screen, select Runtime MBean Browser under the Advanced Configuration section. The right side of the screen refreshes.
    5. Click the Operations tab.
    6. Scroll down and identify the listMetadataLabels MBean operation and invoke it. Select the MBean operation that does not take any parameters. Select the sandbox precreate that you want to restore, and copy it to the clipboard.
    For example, the value you copy can be similar to: Creation_IdM_test_09:25:00.
    7. Click Return to go back to the Operation tab.
    8. Find the promoteMetadataLabel MBean operation.
    9. Invoke the promoteMetadataLabel MBean operation, and enter the value that you copied in step 6.
    10. Restart Oracle Identity Manager.

  • Can I revert back to 10.8 back 10.9 after it has been updated on an iMAC

    Two computers were updated to Mavericks at the school.  The the other computer are running 10.8 including the server.  Since the two were updated there have been multiple problems with them.  One has the spinning ball and the other keeps getting the message OSX needs to repair your Library (when I up in the user and password the window goes away but comes right back in a few seconds.  My thought is the only solution is to revert back to 10.8.  Can this be done and how do I do it.

    Make sure you have a backup.

  • Customizing Forms - 2 problems

    Hey guys,
    So I am working on a list and I went to view the forms for the page. The automatic form seems to be deleted. Is there a way to reinsert the automatic new item form?
    Also, on a new form, I created a link to another items new item form that opens in a dialog box, then refreshes the page when it is closed. I put this link under a certain item. If I were to revert this form to its default
    would I still be able to insert a link into a specific row?

    Thanks for the reply,
    First of all, I could not find it in the recycle bin on the site itself. Is there a recycle bin inside designer for specific forms deleted?
    Second, I assume all the content would be reverted, but how i inserted a link was by literally going to the spot, in code view, between the dropdown list and description and inserted a link as shown below. My issue is
    in the standard form you can't get to a column like that, but with a custom form, hidden columns/ column ordering does not affect the form.
    <SharePoint:FormField runat="server" id="ff1{$Pos}" ControlMode="New" FieldName="Caller" __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('i',concat('ff1',$Pos),'Value','ValueChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Caller')}"/>
    <a href="JavaScript:var options=SP.UI.$create_DialogOptions();options.url='link to item';options.height = 700;options.dialogReturnValueCallback = RefreshOnDialogClose;void(SP.UI.ModalDialog.showModalDialog(options))">Add New Contact</a>
    <SharePoint:FieldDescription runat="server" id="ff1description{$Pos}" FieldName="Caller" ControlMode="New"/>

  • Designer is making forms incompatible

    After editing forms in Designer, I am no longer able to edit the form in Acrobat Professional.
    Also, Designer seems to be changing the names of botton controls within the form. For example, I named a button "DCSubmitFV1_0" within Designer. Inside Designer, the button name shows correctly, but in actuality, the button is named "F[0].P1[0].DCSubmitFV1_0[0]" making it not work with our system.
    Is there a way to revert the form to the Acrobat Professional format, after the form has been edited in Designer? Or is there a way to specify how Designer really names form controls?

    Hmm, big question. You'd want to get experiance by using Designer to try to do what you are doing in your AcroForms in order to get used to the new UI and field types. The biggest thing will probably be the new scripting model which is quite different. While you can still use some of the Acrobat script objects to do some things, you'll want to convert to the XFA scripting model as much as possible if you want to have success.
    You can check out the Designer Dev center here: http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/livecycle/designer/devcenter.html . There's a link to some samples you can look at, and also a link to the XML Form Object Model document, which is extremely useful when writing script. As an example, here's what your script would like using the XFA object model. I'm just typing it into this window here, so I can't guarantee it won't have a typo or a little mistake, but should be pretty close.
    var dcProceed = true;
    // Get the field containers from each page.
    for (var nPageCount = 0; nPageCount < xfa.host.numPages; nPageCount++) {
    var oFields = xfa.layout.pageContent(nPageCount, "field");
    var nNodesLength = oFields.length;
    for (var nNodeCount = 0; nNodeCount < nNodesLength; nNodeCount++) {
    if (!(this.ui.oneOfChild.className == "button") && (this.mandatory == "error") {
    if (this.rawValue == null || this.rawValue == "") {
    app.alert("The field with name " + dcLoopField.name + " is required. Please enter a value before submitting.", 1, 0, "Field is required");
    dcProceed = false;
    break;
    if (dcProceed) {
    var dSubmit = xfa.form.formName.resolveNode("DCSubmitFV1_0");
    dSubmit.presence = "hidden";
    dSubmit.execEvent("click");
    //where dSubmit is a submit type button that points to your URL
    Also, XFA forms do not use FDF, they use XML, so depending on what you are doing on the server after the submit you may need to change what's going on there too.
    Anyways, the first question I would ask if I was you is why you want to switch. If you already have everything you want working and your just switching because it is the "new" way to design forms it's probably not worth it. If your looking to take advantage of functionality it can provide that AcroForms can't, or your looking to use it with the LiveCycle server products then go for it. It's a big change with a definate learning curve, but in the end I think you'll be happy.

  • Using ROWTYPE to create undoable record

    Does anyone have any insight on how I would perform the following in forms:
    Define a %ROWTYPE record
    On Each Navigation to a new Record
    Store all the record's values in %ROWTYPE variable
    An UNDO button on the form would then revert all the values in the current record to the values stored in the %ROWTYPE variable.
    I am new to this, I can't even seem to figure out how to define the %ROWTYPE variable, much less populate and revert the form's contents.
    Thanks for your help.

    1. Put a trigger on the table that populates the pk with the sequence
    2. Change your procedure "PROMOTE" into a function that returns the new id
    3. In your function code, use the "returning ... into" clause of an insert statement to get the new id:
    create or replace function promote(
      p_early_proj_id in number)
    return number
    is
      l_new_id number;
    begin
      insert into late_project (a,b,c) values (...) returning id into l_new_id;
      return l_new_id;
    end promote;4. Call your function from a PL/SQL process like this:
    :P8_NEW_LATE_PROJ_ID := PROMOTE(p_early_proj_id) ;This technique will also allow you to call this function from technologies other than APEX, instead of burning part of the logic into the APEX code itself.

  • HT6065 wi-fi connection issues - STILL?

    For almost a year - I have been trying to troubleshoot wi-fi connection issues on my Mac Pro. It all seems to coincide with installing OS X Mavericks. I thought through recent updates OS X Mavericks v10.9.1, 10.9.4. the problem would be resolved by now. I eventually gave in and "hard wired" my printers and my iPhone only works via USB. I even have to resort to using an Ethernet cable plugged directly into my modem use internet.
    I recently purchased an Apple TV with every intention of sharing my iTunes Library and playing my music on the sound system attached to my TV. Unfortunately, more time wasted trying to troubleshoot what may likely be another Mavericks wi-fi connection issue; see discussion Home sharing is turned on - not working
    Here I am now in the Mavericks discussion group trying to find a solution - I have read about the same issues with other Mac users and some have switched back to Mountain Lion and re-enabled wi-fi usage on all wireless devices; while others suggest third-party apps as work-around solutions. I am reluctant to go to what I would consider "extreme" measures to fix what seems to be a well documented issue.
    Any tips on reverting back to previous OSX - Mountain Lion, or shall I wait until fall for new release of OSX - Yosemite?
    Thank you in advance - Db
