Review and publishing freezing
I have a project which consists of 180 slides. When I
attempted to review the project in its entirety, on the "generating
slides" dialog box, captivate froze. Subsequently, after checking
the forums regarding the performance issues, I discovered this
project should be broken down into smaller projects. I have since
done so. Now, when I've attempted to review or publish one of the
smaller projects (now 40 slides), Captivate still freezes on the
"generating slides" box. I cannot reivew nor publish this project.
Help!
Additional information:
I can perform a preview of the next 5 slides; however, I
cannot perform a preview "from this slide" from any slide - it
freezes. It is not a memory issue as I can preview and publish
other projects that I have created (much larger ones). I have tried
to take the SWF compression preference off, which will not allow me
to preview at all (not even the next 5 slides), so that is not an
option.
Any ideas?

I Can't lock an entity that has "OK" calculation status and "Published" review level
The problem into the HFM aplication is that I have to lock the actual period but one entity has "OK" calculation status and "Published" review level; when I clic "lock" on the entity, the system send a message "The process Unit cannot be locked if it needs to be calculated, translated, or consolidated"
Thank youCheck the Other Value dimensions. Locks are value specific(So locking Entity Currency doesn't necessarily lock Parent Currency). Make sure all the value dimensions are at OK status.

Navigating Table of Contents with Module Reviews and Knowledge Checks
I have been using 5.5 for at least 3 months without issue.
My current course is being published SCORM 1.2 to SumTotal LMS, but that is not relevant at this time.
I have 3 modules in the course (3 module reviews and sets of knowledge check questions).
Each set of knowledge check questions are 3 random questions from respective quiz pools.
The final quiz is the only one with weighted values that report to the LMS.
Problem...
When you click past the Module Review (use Module Review 2) and take the knowledge check questions, and then click that Module Review 2 page via the Table of Contents, the Next and Back buttons do not work and everything freezes.
This even happens when in preview mode in Captivate, and I don't even have to post to LMS.
Help, please!I have a specific style set up (similary to body text) to dress the table of contents at 11pt. Overset text was my thought too! but its actually just an empty paragraph with a title. I've attached an image to help explain.

Muse CC 2014, Review & Merge Changes freezing
One of my client's team has used in-browser editing to make some 50+ changes to a website. I am now trying to run the review and merge process to integrate them with the muse file. I have now tried 3 times and the Muse Review and Merge Changes pop-up freezes showing the first change. Clicking on any of the buttons has no effect and no other Muse functions work. All I seem to be able to do is use Force Quit to shutdown Muse. The first time I tried it seemed to allow merger of 1 change but it took many minutes for anything to happen. The site was last published from Muse 7 and I am now trying the Merge within the upgraded Muse 8. I am running on OS-X 10.9.3.
I can not ask the client to re-enter 50+ edits, so this needs to work.I tried using Muse 7 and surprise, surprise all the changes merged. I don't recall reading in the release notes on the in-browser editing that this functionality would be broken so thoroughly, I would have expected at least some sort of message telling me that the merge could not be done in Muse 8.

My department has created a new Web Publishing Unit. All "Publishers" use to have approve rights; they changed from Approvers to Contributors. I still have some (now) Contributors that still get the "Approve and Publish" buttons
that allows them to approve and publish their docs and/or web pages. I have reviewed all SharePoint Groups to make sure they were not in one of the other groups and they are not. How can I fix this so that all Contributors can only "view,
add, update, and delete" list items and documents? Thanks, Mija-LindaHi Mija Linda,
Have you checked contributor group's permission level, I think that group might still have approver (Design) permission, if so, then it would be better to modify the group permission.
the best thing is to create a permission level and assign users to it.
Let us know your finding, so that we can suggest an alternate.
Hope this helps!

Review and merge changes dialog not displaying in-browser edit changes
I've started to try out the in browser editing capabilities on third party hosting of Muse 2014 but have come against an issue with synching changes back to my local .muse file.
I have made some test changes to the site via the in-browser editor and published to live. Small text changes only. After logging out and then opening the .muse file locally I do get the 'Web version changed' dialog and click on 'Review'. I then expect to see a list of my changes to review but all that happens is that I get a message 'Sync Complete' and that's it. No changes show up in the file, no list of edits and my muse files doesn't change so is not in sync!
I have tried turning off and on again 'Enable in-browser Editing' but that doesn't make any difference. Any one got any ideas or have the same problem?I don't know if something happened on Adobe's end, or if my sleepless night about this issue has helped me figure this out.... But I just got IBE changes to update in my Muse file locally when I restarted Muse.
Here's how I WAS doing it:
My muse test site was being uploaded to a test folder through Muse's publish File > Upload to FTP Host
I had named my test folder "xxx.com/Muse" (with a capital M)
Close Muse
Update the site through IBE. I would change a picture and change some text.
Restart Muse
Get notification changes had been made and be prompted to update my Muse file.
I would get a review option for the text changes I had made.
However, the images changes I had made would not appear.
Would get a message that all changes had been updated.
However, only the text was changed, not the pictures.
Here's how I GOT IT TO WORK :
My muse test site was being uploaded to a test folder through Muse's publish File > Upload to FTP Host
I had named my test folder "xxx.com/muse" (with a lower case m)
Close Muse
Update the site through IBE, again changing a picture and changing some text
Restart Muse
Get notification changes had been made and be prompted to update my Muse file.
GOT each individual change to approve/reject.
Changes were made in my Local Muse file for me to save.
So, after getting that to work (provided nothing has changed on Adobe's end) it looks to me as if there could be something going on with the capitalizing/unusual characters in the naming of domains & folders. Because I did notice that when Muse notified me that changes had been made, it always provided the URL for the site as "xxxx.com/muse" with a lowercase letter... regardless of whether or not I had uploaded to the "Muse" folder or the "muse" folder.
Who knows... I could be completely wrong... Perhaps the Adobe engineers have been busy through the night and fixed it and I just happened to be up and stressing and testing when it happened... But that's what worked for me just now. -
Live stream lag after unpublish and publish
I am sending a live stream over the web. I'm testing its performance and reliability, and I've noticed that after unpublishing and publishing the stream again, the video becomes very laggy - about 1-2 fps. It happens when the player has buffer bigger than 0. When buffer is set to 0, everything is ok, and after a short break (the moment when stream is unpublished), video is being played normally, like before the break (fps ~25). What is causing the problem, and how can I resolve it?
Are you using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder? or some other encoder... testing on your machine or remote server?
You might also check over at that Forum:
http://forums.adobe.com/community/flash/flash_media_live_encoder
Most likely you will be asked for the encoding log. So first review the log and see if anything catches your eye.
Also we'll need details like type of machine you are using, CPU and RAM etc.
What are the encoding settinging? display dimensions, bitrate, encoding format, audio and video?... etc... all the config settings.
What type of cam, what are you using for a server... FMS, Wowza, Red5? or streaming to UStream or some service like that?
Best of luck,

When navigating the internet, if I come across a web page that has a link to open a picture or program in a new window, if I click on it, it does not open. Firefox immediately looses functionality in that I cannot open a new tab with the mouse wheel, right click to open a new tab, or use my bookmarks in either the drop down or toolbar to navigate away. I can usually still navigate the page that I am on, for example, (https://loanconsolidation.ed.gov/AppEntry/apply-online/appindex.jsp), when it freezes I cannot click on any of the content at the center of the page but I can still use the links from the list on the far left. For an example of the pictures, (http://www.insect-sale.com/), if you click on "New Arrivals" at the top of the page it takes you to a list of products that can only be viewed by clicking on them. Usually a picture of the item would open in a small window but it does not and Firefox freezes. This has also happen when I try a view a degree audit on a school's website where a program would usually open in a new window. The only thing I have been able to find that still functions properly when this happens is the home page button. I can click on it or use the wheel to open it in a tab just fine, but if I try and go anywhere else I cannot. The only way I can get Firefox back to normal is to use the Task Manager and end the process. Another thing I have noticed, that may or may not be related; is that my Norton Internet Security toolbar, that should show up below the bookmarks toolbar and above the tabs, only shows up about 1 out of every 10 times I open Firefox. Some days it doesn't show up at all. If it does show up and I log into Identity Safe, the autofill for the programed website works, even if the toolbar doesn't show up the next time I open Firefox.
Go to Tools->Options->Apps
Here you should see two columns: Content Type on the left, Actions on the right.
Find and select excel spreadsheet or any other content type in the left column. There should be a corresponding action in the right column. What is it? You can use the drop-down list to select the option you want:
Always Ask - Firefox will ask each time: What do you want to do with this file?
Save file - Firefox will save this file to your computer
Use - Firefox will give this file to the program to open it
In case of saving, Firefox will either prompt you every time where you want the file to be saved, or save it to the default location. It depends on the preference in

Keyboard and trackpad freeze and randomly become unresponsive
I've got a MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011) running Mac OS X 10.8.2.
Since a few weeks ago at random intervals my keyboard and trackpad become permanently unresponsive. I don't recall any particular cause or change that would have caused this to start happening.
What happens is that the trackpad and keyboard will stop functioning completely. The computer, display etc. would continue to function properly:
The clock keeps ticking.
If music were playing it would continue etc.
Internet connectivity (via an ethernet cable or WiFi) continues to work as well (a download will continue, and even resume if I disconnect and reconnect the ethernet cable).
Presssing the power button will bring up the shutdown dialog as usual (but I can't use it, obviously, so a forced shutdown needs to be performed instead by holding down the power button longer).
.. but the keyboard and trackpad are rendered inoperable, as if they were no longer connected.
I've made no progress in finding out what could possibly be the cause of this. A few observations:
It has never happened while not using the keyboard (e.g. watch a DVD with TV series for a few hours, and afterwards the keyboard would always be fine).
It always happens while actively typing (e.g. while in the middle of replying to an e-mail).
It is not a temporary problem, the keyboard and trackpad will not become responsive again after some time (the computer isn't particulary occupied with calculating something big, no beachball and no busy mechanical noises).
It does not happen progessively. It works fine and snappy one second, and I'm touching a dead keyboard a split second later.
I tried connecting a USB keyboard but that doesn't seem to work either (I'm mentioning this since some of the linked threads below close with that as a solution).
Possibly related (although I haven't found anything in these threads):
Keyboard causes trackpad to not function properly
Keyboard and trackpack freeze
Keyboard and Trackpad Unresponsive
MacBook Pro Keyboard & TrackPad freeze! Totally Unresponsive!
MacBook Pro inbuilt Keyboard and Trackpad freeze when not connected to bluetooth devices?
I've crawled through some log files in /var/log (via the shell and through Console.app) and found a couple things that may be relevant, although they seem unrelated. Etiher way, I was surprised by what I found. All sorts of errors with regards to Bluetooth and USB stuff. I'm not aware of using either. I haven't used bluetooth in years and though I sometimes charge an iPod by USB, I haven't had any problems with that, and this keyboard/trackpad freeze has also happened on sessions where I started the laptop and never even touch the USB ports in the time leading up to the freeze.

When i disconnect my iPod 2nd Gen from my laptop, its display goes off and working freezes. Please help me.
The computer freezes? There may be something wrong with the USB port. If the laptop has more than one port, does this happen on any port? If you are disconnecting the shuffle cable from the computer, does it make any difference if you disconnect the shuffle at the other end of the cable first, then disconnect the cable from computer? Or if you currently disconnect the shuffle from cable first, try it the other way.
You may be able to work around this problem, if you get a self-powered USB hub. Something like this one
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/USB2HB7PRO/
There are many choices, but be sure to get one that has its own power supply. You can leave the shuffle cable connected to the hub, and connect the shuffle to the hub, instead of directly to the computer. This may provide a "buffer" for whatever is causing your laptop to shut off when the shuffle is disconnected. Since the hub has its own power supply, it will not rely on the computer for power to re-charge the battery. -

Trackpad and Keyboard Freezes on my Macbook
I have a spring 2008 model macbook whose keyboard and trackpad will freeze when my macbook gets too hot. Usually before it freezes up the macbook will try, over the course of several minutes, to eject a CD even though there is no CD in the drive. Shortly after that the keyboard and trackpad freeze up.
I've taken it to the Mac Store and they ran the computer through a "stress test" but could not get it to have the same trackpad freeze as I did so they did not fix it. I have taken the battery out and that seems to help a bit but it did freeze up as I was writing this post and had to reboot.
Anybody know how to fix this on a Macbook (not macbook pro)? ThanksMy keyboard and trackpad freezes too. It seems to occur when screen dims. After I force the restart by holding down the power button, everything works again. But later, it will freeze again.
I have built-in keyboard and trackpad firmware version 1.0.1. No additional updates cued when this application is selected from the applications\utilities holder.
I am currently running Mac OS 10.5.6 on a White MacBook 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 2Gb 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
Plugging in an external mouse works during the freeze.
Please help. Thanks
