Review period and Selection period in Enterprise Compensation Management

Dear all,
Anybody can explain about review period and selection period???
Theory says u2026
Review period
The period when manager can plan and submit recommendations through MSS
Selection period
The period which system retrieves the set of objects (Org units, positions and employees) for compensation on portal.
But I am bit confused with thisu2026 when this review will happen? In the beginning?
Say example
If itu2019s a merit increment and 01.01.2011-31.12.2011 is the valuation periodu2026 and we will give the increment in effective 01.01.2012 .Then when it be will the review period  and when it will be the selection period?
Anybody can explain with examples plsu2026.
Thanks and Regards
Richard

Hi Richard,
You supplied the correct definitions, but your explanation is not correct.
The Review Period is that period of time the manager can access the system to enter the recommendation for a pay change.  In your example it might be 12/15 to 12/31.  Only during this period will the review be available for entry.  The 1/1 effective date is set in the Item attributes.
The Selection Period indicates for which employees the manager can make recommendations.  For example, if a person is transferred on December 20th in the above scenario - you would want the first manager to still create the recommendation and the individual not to appear for the new manager.  Thus, you would put 12/15 as the beginning and ending date for the Selection period.  Each manager would then see his/her direct reports as of that date in the recommendation area.  If you put 1/1/ to 12/31 in this field, any manager of the individual during the year could see and make entries in the recommendation area for the employee.
Hope these examples help.

  • Enterprise Compensation Management ECC6.0

    Hi Gurus,
We are currenlty unsing Compensation Management on 4.6c. We are going to upgrade to ECC6.0 and want to use Enterprise Compensation Management. Can configuration of Compensation Management of 4.6c be reused or do we have to Configure ECM from scratch?
    Thanks

Q: We use PA-CM already for some countries and want to implement
PA-EC for other countries. Do we have to replace PA-CM by PA-EC for
    all countries at once?
A: Most of the functionality of old and new Compensation can be used
in parallel in the same system. The two modules use different
database tables, transactions, and Portal iViews. But there are a
few restrictions concerning integration of the LTI application with
other modules. The following functionality can only be used for
    either PA-EC or PA-CM:
    a) Payroll of LTI exercises (payroll function XLTI)
    b) Display of LTI in the Total Compensation Statement
    c) Stock Option Accounting (accruals for costs caused by LTI
       exercises)
This functionality reads data from PA-EC, if the flag 'Switch for
Activating Enterprise Compensation Mgmt' in the IMG step 'Activate
Enterprise Compensation Management' is set. Otherwise, it reads the
    data of PA-CM.

  • COPA Report current period and previous period issue

    Hi Gurus,
I have defined COPA report (Tcode KE94) based on line items. Now I want all values to be displayed based on an entry parameter in terms of period. That is to say that  If I give input values of "010.2013" as a period entry , my report should display the values for the the period specified i.e. 010.2013 in the first column and in second column  values for the period 009.2013 should be displayed and in the third column values for the period 001.2013 till 010.2013 should be displayed cumulatively.
For this, I choosed the character "period/year" in General data selection tab, clicked "Variable on/off" tab and gave values "From"  as well as "To" for the Global Variable "OFP"  which is Curr.fisc.per./year.
For the 1st column (1st column which is suppose to display the values according to selection parameter), along with the character "company code" , I choosed the character "period" and clicked "Variable on/off" tab and gave value "From"  as well as "To" for the Global Variable "OFP"  which is Curr.fisc.per./year.
For the 2nd column (2nd column which is suppose to display the values for the immediately preceeding period of the selection parameter), along with the character "company code" , I choosed the character "period" and clicked "Variable on/off" tab and gave value "From"  as well as "To" for the Global Variable "OFP"  which is Curr.fisc.per./year. While doing so, I selected operator as "-" and choosed offset as 1.
For the 3rd column (3rd column which is suppose to display the cumulative values from the beginning of the fiscal year till the period mentioned in the selection parameter), along with the character "company code" , I choosed the character "period" and selected 001 in "From" and 016 in "To" tab.
Company Code selected in all the three columns is same and I have selected actual values i.e. 0 for "plan/actual indicator" tab.
When I run the report through Tcode KE30 , I give values as "010.2013" for the From and To selection tabs. System shows the values as per the selection parameter in the 1st column which is correct  but display values same as per coulmn 1st in the 3rd column which is wrong because it should be cumulative. 2nd column is blank.
How to display the values for the immediately preceeding period and for cumulative period?
    Regards,
    makrand

    Dear Ajay,
Thanks for the reply. Here are the screen shots.
For the general data selection tab
For the first column "current month" i.e. for the month
For the second column "Last Months"
For the third column "Cumulative" i.e. year to date
Following is the result of KE30
    Values for the period 010.2013
You can see that values in the report for the period 011.2013 contains value for the previous period which is 59090.21
This value is matching when the report is run for the period 010.2013.
But in both the reports, the figures for Current month and YTD (year to date) are same.
Please let me know what setting is required in the current month column.
    Regards,
    makrand

  • Fiscal Period and MM period.

    Hi all,
Can somebody explain the difference b/w Fiscal Period and MM Period in business context. Detail explanation will be helpful.
    thanks & regards,
    Prashant Rathore.

    Dear,
    Fiscal Year Definition
Usually a period of twelve months for which a company regularly creates financial statements and checks inventories.
The fiscal year may correspond exactly to the calendar year, but this is not obligatory.
Under certain circumstances a fiscal year may be less than twelve months (shortened fiscal year).
    Fiscal Year Structure
A fiscal year is divided into posting periods. Each posting period is defined by a start and a finish date. Before you can post documents, you must define posting periods, which in turn define the fiscal year.
In addition to the posting periods, you can also define special periods for year-end closing.
In General Ledger Accounting, a fiscal year can have a maximum of twelve posting periods and four special periods. You can define up to 366 posting periods in the Special Purpose Ledger.
What is the Use of Fiscal Year
In order to assign business transactions to different time periods, you must define a fiscal year with posting periods. Defining the fiscal year is obligatory.
You define your fiscal year as fiscal year variants which you then assign to your company code. One fiscal year variant can be used by several company codes.
You have the following options for defining fiscal year variants:
Fiscal year same as calendar year
Fiscal year differs from calendar year (non-calendar fiscal year). The posting periods can also be different to the calendar months.
You define your fiscal year variants in Customizing for Financial Accounting as follows: Financial Accounting Global Settings ® Fiscal Year ® Maintain Fiscal Year Variant (Maintain Shortened Fiscal Year)
    MM Periods
Closing operations are periodic tasks and can be subdivided in FI as follows:
    u2022     Day-end closing
    u2022     Month-end closing
    u2022     Year-end closing
The closing operations component helps you prepare and carry out the activities required for day-end, month-end, and year-end closing. For this purpose, the system provides a series of standard reports that you can use to generate evaluations and analyses directly from all of the posted account balance. The system helps you carry out the following:
    u2022     (Time-based) accruals/deferrals of expenses and revenues
u2022     Creating the balance sheets and P&L statements
    u2022     Documenting the posting data
    Prerequisites
To carry out the closing operations in G/L accounting, you first need to carry out the closing operations in the subledger accounting areas you are using. These include:
u2022     Accounts receivable and accounts payable accounting
    u2022     Inventory accounting
    u2022     Asset accounting
    u2022     Payroll accounting

  • Significance of IN PERIOD and FOR PERIOD

Hi experts can any one explain me
What is Retro calculation? and significance of IN PERIOD and FOR PERIOD while Retro calculation. If possible please explain with an example.
    Thanks in advance.
    vamsi.

    Hi,
Retro calculation done automatically by SAP \
weh you make changes in master data in back date retro run will take place.
The retroactive accounting date or limit determines the exact date until which master data and time data can be changed in the payroll past. The retroactive accounting limit is based on the following values:
1.Per payroll area (payroll control record): Earliest possible retroactive accounting period
    2.Employee hiring date
3.Per Ijndividual employee the feild Earliest personal retroactive accounting date Payroll Status infotype0003.
If the date set for each payroll area differs from the date specified for the employee, the later date is used.
The most important thing to remeber is with regard to retroactive accounting limit for an employee is the hire date of the employee., one can neither run retro from a date prior to the Hiring date nor he can make any changes to master data prior to hiring date
Retro is triggered in a payroll if u hav done master data change of an employee. This means 1) Any change in an infotype triggers retro. 2) Retro is also field dependent in an infotype.
This is configured using view V_T582A under frame "Retro Accounting Trigger".
    Also note,
    1) Control record - PA03 contains earliest retro date, meaning retro cannot be run previous to that date for all employees in that payroll area.
    2) Infotype 0003 contains a field "earliest master data change" meaning during next payroll run retro will run from that particular period onwards for that employee.
    3) Infotype 0003 contains a field "Earl.pers. RA date" meaning retro cannot run beyond that date for that employee. (this field values are stored in table PA0003)
    regards

Hello sir Every time I do the process of registration in Mogah Apple Store and the period and the period of the account is lost I do not know what the problem is there are people who enter into my account and change email We ask God to help you have an account I can not restore it the way I do not know where and I do not speak English Aalit Aalit help me I'm in a state of panic for your reply eagerly awaited
This old Emily Hope you reply and help me [email protected]

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
    That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.
    Thanks for listening,
    Melissa

  • Query in Enterprise Compensation Management and Budgetting

    Dear All,
I am working on a new project on Enterprise Compensation Management and Manpower Budgetting. I have some doubts in this area as given below:
    1. Can I do a manpower budgetting for the future as to if there is an additional requirement of manpower in some department, can I take the requirement and perform manpower budgetting.
    2. Can the budgetting made in HR be used for budgetting in FI.
    3. Is budgetting in HR intergrated with FI or CO.
These requirements are becasuse in our organisation, the finance department want to create a budget for 2012 in which they want the manpower cost to be included for 2012.
Please let me know if this can be done through SAP PCP and prove me some links where in I can get some document like PPT or configuration document with which I can do the same.
Expecting a reply and thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Vijay.

    Dear All,
Please let me know if anyone has a solution for the above mentioned issues.

  • Enterprise Compensation Management - Mass date change of IT 0759

We run ECC 5.0 SP45 (for HR)
We currently use the Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM) process for our Merit Increases and Bonus assignments.
This year, at the end of the process (meaning that everyone is in Approved status on IT 0759), Management decided to change the effective date of the Merit Increases.
Does anyone have a suggestion (other than create a bdc session) that would allow me to mass change the effective date of this particular comp. review item on IT 0759, without impacting the bonus review item?

    Hi Laural,
Instead of BDC, you can use the ECM function modules.
Get the infotype data through HR_ECM_READ_INFOTYPE
and change the data through HR_ECM_MODIFY_INFOTYPE.
And the BEGDA and ENDDA in 759 would be the same as of the payment date. So you would be changing both dates here to the new payment date.
I cannot think of any other alternative solution.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Subbu

  • Enterprise Compensation management Planning iView

    Hello,
We're busy implementing ECM for ECC6 and Portal 7.  On the Compensation Planning iView and page, there is a link to 'Show Statistics' and according to SAP's formal documentation, this could be eliminated from the page/iView, if the user so desired.
The iView has no recognizable property for this functionality to be put on or off.
Does anyone have an idea where this could be disabled?
    Help with be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Charmaine

    Hi,
We actually had a customer message opened for this with SAP.  Please follow below steps (you'll need the Self-Service role):
    1. Select the Define Perspectives for the ECM Planning FPM Application.
           a. Portal Content->Content Provided by SAP->srvconfig->com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.mss->Enterprise Compensation Management->FPM Applications-> ECM Planning
    2. Select the CAP View tab.
    3. Select the Additional Information CAP item and Delete.
    4. Select the Plan perspective.  Select the Show Statistics CAP item and Delete.
    5. Save all changes.
    Hope this works.

  • Enterprise Compensation Management without Budgeting & LTI

    Hi Experts,
Please guide me whether we can go ahed witout configuring or maintaining the Budgeting & LTI sections in Enterprise Compensation Management.
Client does not have any budgeting practices, only Bonus(Yearly),Incentives(Yearly),Salary survey
Salary changes sometims happens in the organization.
We want to maintain only above practices.
Can any one please suggest me on the same & let me know if yes the which all aares  we can cover to go ahead.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Budgeting & LTI are not required for you to implement SAP Enterprise Compensation Management. They are seperate sub-modules within ECM. From what it sounds like your requirements are just to implement annual bonus and merit each year. If this is the case you can implement only the "Compensation Administration" section within ECM. This would be located in the SAP IMG under Personnel Management --> Enterprise Compensation Management --> Compensation Administration.
    Thanks,
    Imran

  • Enterprise Compensation Management Info Cube

SAP BI contains a special enterprise compensation management InfoCube and queries that can be used to analyze all compensation data in detail. Now, if one has to use R/3 4.6C for the backend compensation management, can this InfoCube (using BW 3.5 on NW '04) be leveraged?...or, does the back-end have to be upgraded to the '04 Business Suite level?
Quick response from someone who has done it or from SAP will be highly appreciated!!!

    Bryan,
Great response. One last question: The comment you have made about what we get with "BI Content 3.5.1 (same as BI Content 3.3 Add-on)" in terms of the "1 InfoCube, enabling the evaluation of LTI awards" is of particular interest to us. To leverage this BI content, what should be in the back end? In other words, can I leverage this BI business content using R/3 4.6C in the backend or will I need to upgrade to mySAP ERP (NW '04) and mySAP HCM?

  • Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM) Info Request

I apologize for this elementary question, but can someone point me to a link on how to setup ECM - both on the portal side and the abap side if applicable? I have scoured the web and can find lots of information on what ECM is and how to use it, but I can't find any technical information. Is it an sca file that I need to download or is it a switch I need to turn on? Any information at this point would be helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
For any technical details or configurational details of ECM you should go through following documentations
    1) K86: Enterprise Compensation Management
    Business Process Procedure
    and
    Enterprise Compensation Management (K11)
    Building Block Configuration Guide
Both these documents will help you alot in understanding ECM
