Reviewer comments not appearing in project file

Hi there,
This is my third month of using Captivate so I'm definitely a 'newbie' here.
My team has created and sent out a handful of Captivate projects to subject-matter experts for their comments. Each .crev file was linked to the appropriate networked folder with a specific 'comments folder' also linked in.
Most of them seem to be working fine: When I open the original file and show the comments bar, the comments all appear. However, there is one that doesn't seem to want to work. The xml files of the comments from people are saved in the correct folder on the network, and when I open the .crev file, I can see the comments. However, they aren't showing up on the original file. Even when I 'import' the comments, there is a sort of page refresh, but nothing happens.
Fortunately, we haven't received tons of comments for this project yet, so one idea I had was to just do it over again. But I'm not sure what I would do differently so I don't get the same problem.
Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening and what I can do to make sure it doesn't happen again?

I can no longer burn a disc. The command to do so does not appear in my Files menu. All my recordings are 100% legal. I have installed a new version (it still looks the same), but that hasn't helped. I have done so before.

All my music is from legal sources (albums owned by me, others from iTunes), but the Burn Disc command does not appear in the File menu, and nothing I do helps. I downloaded a new version of iTunes, but it still loks the same and may just be the same. But the problem started long before I did that.

You don't even need to show the general Sidebar as suggested by others.
Select Playlists in the top buttons:
then control-click on the playlist you wish to burn in left column, e.g.:

Some CGM graphics do not appear when FrameMaker files are converted to PDF

CGM files are exported from ISO (Arbortext Isodraw 7.0 CadProcess) files. Then they are imported into Adobe FrameMaker 7.2, where all elements of the illustration are visible and can be printed. The FrameMaker FM file is converted to a PDF file using the Adobe PDF converter function of Frame. When the PDF file is opened by Adobe Acrobat 8,0 Professional, some, but not all of the illustrations in the file exhibit this problem (The callouts and other text may appear, but the lines, curves, etc. do not). The illustration prints the same way it appears on the screen. When exporting the ISO file as a CGM, the following selections are made.
When importing file into Frame, "Import by Reference" is selected.
When creating PDF in Frame, the following selections are made.

First you should update to the latest version of Acrobat 8, since you say
you are running Acrobat 8, you should update to 8.2.5. Update your
FrameMaker to 7.2p158. Those two steps might do the trick. If that fails
try using a different settings file. Perhaps High Quality or Press
Quality. I would never use Standard for anything where fidelity is
important.

Closed captioning not appearing in video files

I've been working on producing a number of videos intended to be used as content in an iPad app for a Self-Guided Museum Tour which is under development by a non-profit Museum I work for. Many of the videos are intended to have closed captions for the hearing impaired.
Videos are being produced with Adobe Premier CC and exported as Quicktime .mov files with embedded closed captioning. These files play in all instances but in most of them, including the current IOS and Mac OS systems, the closed captioning is not visible. Tests indicate:
Closed captioning IS visible when the .mov file is played on Quicktime Player 10.3 on a Mac running OS 10.8.5 in all instances.
Closed captioning IS visible when the .mov file is played on Quicktime Player 10.3 on a Mac running OS 10.9 as long as English subtitle is enabled.
Oddly, closed captioning IS visible the .mov file is played on an old copy of Quicktime Player 7 running OS 10.9.5 as long as "show closed captioning" is enabled.
Closed captioning IS NOT visible when the .mov file is played on Quicktime Player 10.3 (with subtitles either off or automatic) on a Mac running OS 10.9.5.
Closed captioning IS NOT visible when the .mov file is imported into an iPad Air running IOS 8.1.1 and played with Safari using the built-in IOS video player. This is my target destination for the project and is critical.
Since the .mov file does contain an embedded closed captioning track (verified as track 3), the problem does not appear to be with the file or how it was created. The problem appears to be with the video player supplied by Apple in the most current versions of both OSX and IOS. In light of Apple's long-standing priority for accessibility this result is surprising.
Need help if anyone can help figure out how to make closed captions work with the IOS video player.

Problem solved with a little help from a Senior Apple Tech Support person.
Essentially, what has to be done in the current versions of both OSX and IOS is to configure the playback device's accessibility settings beforehand:
IOS 8.1.1
Settings–General–Accessibility–Subtitles and Captioning–turn on "Closed Captions+SDH"
OSX 10.9.5 and OSX 10.10:
System Preferences–Accessibility–scroll down to Captions and click on "Prefer Closed Captions and SDH”
You can also change the font style for captioning from these menus.
Once done, a small caption icon that looks like a text bubble on the bottom of the screen when videos are loaded, now has a third option besides "Off" and "Automatic". If the video being played has captioning embedded it may read something like "English CC", as it does in the case of my Premier CC-generated, embedded closed captions. Once that is selected, the captions play properly. [Note that in IOS 8.1.1, the caption icon only appears when a video is played in full screen mode.]

Template does not appear in project folder

My template has disappeared from my project. Therefore, I
have tried reimporting the template to the 'Templates' folder in
the project folder. When I do this, I do not get an error message.
But the *.htt file does not appear in the 'Templates' folder and I
cannot attach it to help texts?? When I open my file manager I can,
however, see that the *.htt file is indeed placed in the current
project. Can anybody help?

Yep! These forums are littered with problems caused by
working over a network. RH is essentially an Access DB and this has
well documented problems with networks. Work off your hard drive
and back up to your network each night. That's works for me. Try
importing your template once you've copied your project to your PC
and come back if you still have problems. You may have to recreate
your template as it is not impossible that the .HTT file has become
corrupted.

Fcpx project not appearing in project library

A project that is in the Final Cut Projects folder, both within its own folder and in the FCP Projects folder, is not appearing in the Project Library within FCPX and therefore cannot be opened. This happened suddenly in the middle of an edit that had begun yesterday. The files imported into the appropriate FC Event folder is there and all the other FCP projects I've done which are visible in the FCP Projects folder in Finder are visible within the FCP Project library except this one. Any ideas?

A message popped up while I was editing saying my drive was almost full so I deleted files unrelated to the project or event I was working on this ended up happening. It is not the first time this happened.

Hyperlinks in Word 2007 not appearing in PDF file

I am not sure if this is more of a Word problem, or an Acrobat problem.
However, I have a document in Word that contains a table of contents and several cross-references that are hyperlinks to locations in the document. In the Word file, you can CTRL + click and you will be taken to the destination of the hyperlink, for example to a topic in the Table of Contents.
I used to make these a couple years back and they worked fine.
I am using Word 2007 on a PC with Acrobat 8.1.2. I have tried both the Standard and the Rich Content PDF job options and neither of them seems to give me hyperlinks in the finished PDF file. Am I missing something?

I've also had problems carrying links over from a Word file (I'm using Word 2002). External links in footnotes are not carried into the PDF file unless, using Change Conversion Settings - Settings, the 'Enable Accessibility etc.' box is ticked. Even then, in a 2mb file, with a lot of footnotes, whether the links are carried into the PDF file seems to depend on which computer I use. OK with XP and 1.5gb; but with Vista and 3gb the links do not appear in the PDF file. In either case its a 10+ minutes process.
If you don't tick the box, links in footnotes are carried over only if the actual URL appears in the text. However, the process is much quicker.

FOC items with bill rate as "0" are not appearing in project invoice

Customer has a unique requirement of billing resources working on the project for free due to business reasons.
The issue is that the FOC items with bill rate as "0" are not appearing when the invoice is generated.
Please let me know if any one has come across this kind of a requirement and please share if you have any workaround.

You may try setting the bill rate for those cases as 0.01.
That way the items will be included in the invoice, but not affect dramatically the amount billed to customer.

I can not relink my project files.

Hello,
I have been researching this topic for over an hour and now I'm deciding to post in here. I disconnected my external hard drive on accident without turning off my computer first. Now I'm seeing what you see below. My first and urgent priority is that I relink my project files. After that, I'm going to need to relink all of my files in the library as I have lost every single one of them. Thousands of shots from a documentary to be exact. I have tried file/ relink, but FCP X is not locating my files this way. Can somebody please help me figure this one out. Thank you very much.

FCP will not locate the files for you if they've become unlinked. You have to point the application at the file it's looking for.

Book title/cover page not appearing in exported file?

Hello, for some reason my book title page on the exported file does not appear the same as my preview copy.
On my bookshelf, my preview copy (which has a small 'proof' flash) has the cover design as produced in the Author app.
I have exported the file for somebody else to check the contents of file, when they download and open the file in iBooks the file has a white cover with 'Book Title' on it, not the design that appears in the preview file.

Photos do not appear in projects Aperture 3.5.1

When selecting a project on the sidebar, the photos that it contains do not appear in the main viewer area.
If that particular project then appears under the automated "Recent" header, selecting it allows the photos to appear as normal.

Check the filter settings when looking at the project from the sidebar.
It's an Aperture weirdness but the filters on the Browser view of the project in Recents can be different then the filters set on the project when viewed by clicking on it in the sidebar.
The reason being that what looks like a project in Recents is actually a smart album.

Name of files do not appear in the files section

I've been using Adobe Audition 3.0 for three years now and it has been FANTASTIC. (on a 3 year old Dell with the Vista OS).
However, something quirky happened this morning that is frustrating....when I drag an audio file onto my workstation, like I always do, the actual wave appears on my timeline, BUT, the name of the file no longer appears in the files section to the left of the workstation.
I've re-started my compter several times to no avail. Has anybody else ever experienced this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have an impending deadline due for a large project and this sudden disappearance of file names has rendered my Audition virtually unusable.

There are some buttons right at the bottom of the Files window under the Sort By box that allow you to show or hide different file types. Perhaps one of those has become unclicked.

Image not appearing when opening file

This just started happening and I don't know if I inadvertently have changed a setting. I open a file in Photoshop and the file is obviously open because I can see it in the history or layers panel. However it does not appear on the screen. I've tried changing my viewing and other things, and it just isn't there. It's like it's behind something. But what?
My only solution is to shut Photoshop down completely, reopen Photogshop and reopen the file. Very inconvenient.
Any clue?

HT203477 FCPX is not recognizing my project files.

When I open FCPX the raw footage is there, but none of the edited projects appear. I did an update and ever since FCPX won't locate my project files.

Hopefully zaimpaine's problem has been solved in this past month. If zampaine or anyone else could provide the solution that would be greatly appreciated. In my case, there also is no Updated Projects Event. Projects started in the last few days disappear from FCPX and the Project Library even though the project file is visible in Finder, both in the Final Cut Projects root file and within its own subfolder and all the other, older projects are still clearly visible in the Project Librarty.

Click the half-shaded box, and choose "Show Menu Bar."
That will enable the menu with File, Edit, View, etc. Then you can proceed as above.
