Revision level changes in PO

Hi ,
This is regarding the " PO output that is sent to vendor which is deviated from print preview copy"
The material mentioned in line item of a PO shows Revision as " Rev. 02" in the PO .In System Print preview output, the line item shows revision as "Rev. 02" while the vendor is receiving a PO copy of "Rev 01". Can any one help me to how to change revision level in output also to "Rev 02".
Thanks in advance,
Rajeev.

Hi,
I have took the Print out of the PO from my system and the Revision level of the material is " Rev 02" . I also collected the PO from customer which was trigerred to him directly after i create a PO. The material is shown as " Rev 01" in the customer PO. Can any one clarify me how to show "Rev 02" for the material in the customer PO also?.
Thanks
Rajeev

• DIR - Change Revision Level

Hello Friends,
How can I change the revision level of a DIR without creating a new version?
Per config, when I create a DIR it is assigned a rev level "-". Then I want to change it to an higher level "A" or "B" or whatever.
I am using BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 and BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2 for my process. Eventhough I pass a different rev level, SAP creates the DIR always with the first revision level per the config, which in our case is "-".
Any input/advise on this issue will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

• Manual Change Revision Level in Production Order

Dear guru ,
The revision level in the production order (for material to be produced and for the component) isn't manual changeable.
Does exist a chance for a manual change of revision level ?
Thanks in advance.

Dear Suresh ,
i know the link with ECM. In production order i can change the component revision level if i work with bom explosion date in read PP master data. But this solution isn't flexible. Imagine that i want to read PP master data with different explosion date for different component ...
Why in the purchase order the system allow a manual change of revision level and this chance doesn't exist in production order ?
Thanks in advance.

• What are the Uses of Revision Level

Dear All,
I have been searching for articles pertaining to "Revision Level" in the Material Master Record and found out that revision level is used purposely in Engineering Change Management and Document Management System. Is this true?
I want to know if activating revision level can purposely be used also in tracking MRP Tab Changes in material master record. There are some cases that user change MRP Type and reorder levels (minimum/maximum) in the material master record and i want to record this changes and who made this changes. Can this revision level help me on this purpose?
Can anybody please enlighten me on this revision level usage?
Thank you.

• Open PR Material Master Revision Level

Hi,
I am working on upgrade from 4.5b to ecc6.0.In this Project Material Revision Level and Change Number is assigned with Z Program.
The Requirement is the Program has to check the Open PR 's and that particular Material needs to be updated with Change Number and Revision Level.
Now the Functional Specification to be prepared for the Technical Team -Based on the Open PR condition -Now what are the fields to be specified in EBAN table in order to fullfill the open PR.
As per my understanding Open PR means PO is not created and PO is created means that PR is closed.
Or any other fields are to taken into consideration for preparing Functional Specification
Please reply me ..
Thanks for the reply.

It is very much possible. You can try this use case. It's pretty simple. But Vice-versa is not possible.

• BOM explosion in subcontracting order according to revision level

Hello experts
I have different revision levels available for a subcontracted material, e.g. the BOM of this material has different versions depending on the validity date.
When a BOM explosion is carried out in the subcontracting order (either in the purchase request or in the purchase order) the selected version of the BOM is done accordingly to the delivery date. It does NOT take into account the revision level even when I change it manually.
Do you have any idea if it is possible to force SAP to consider the revision level instead of the delivery date for the BOM explosion ? (custo, user exit, BAdI, ...)
Many thanks
Amaury

Hi
BOM explosion in Subcon PO will be carried out automatically when you select the item category L.
If you want to control the BOM selection based on the Alternative then you can go with Production version option and get the help from PP consultant to create the production version.
Assign the production version in Subcontracting Inforecord.
Click the BOM explosion button the switch to alternative BOM during the PO creation.
Hope it helps
Thanks/Karthik

• Revision level not appearing in material tab of purchase order

hi
I have matained revision level in material master but it is not appearing in material tab of purchase order and print preview of purchase order
regards
Badari

Hi, If u have created proper change no in CC01 with assigned object material with proper validity period u can give revision level to material.
In order to reflect the current revision level on PO printout, the coding in PO print program should be designed accordingly to pick the latest revision level. PO output needs to be re-issued so that the new output can pick the latest information like PO revision level from the master.

• Inspection Plan/Revision level

Hi PP Gurus,
I have a Problem in Inspection Lot.The system is not reading the new Inspection Plan.
The material is assigned to a Revision level with valid from date 10.12.2007 and the earlier Inspection Plan(Group 21) was also created on 10.12.2007.Now this inspection Plan( Group 21) is deleted and New Inspection Plan(Group 100) is created with the Valid from date 10.04.2008.
I have created an Inspection Lot dated 12.04.2008, Now the system is not reading the new Inspection Plan(Group 100).And the system is giving error "No Insection Plan found" while recording result on the inspection lot.
We cant change the material ECO revision date as this would contravene our traceability record and since, the Revision Level is maintained at Global level so cant afford this to change for other Plants.
Kindly help me to assign the new Inspection Plan to the Inspection Lot.
Thx in Advance

Hi,
I do not know the impact of revısıon level on İnspaction lot.
But, with reference to the Revısıon Level only the Confırmation wıll work both in Descrete and aswell as in REM.
Say ıf yor Revesıon Level ıs AB, and the date ıs 01.03.2008, then during confirmatıon the sytem will explode the BOM with referenec to this Date.
It may be possıble that there may not be any BOM available on that date then there wıll not be any Components suggested for GI or backflush.
Probably you can corelate the same thıng to your ınspectıon lot... ( inspectıon lot not available etc..)
Hope thıs helps..

• BOM Revision Level

Hi,
We are uploading the BOMs into server. While manual creation of BOM I am able to update the revision level of the BOM. But we are unable to update it while uploading through LSMW. Please suggest me in this regard.
Thanks
Ramakanth

We have ECM in our project.
We have to take all the BOMs from the previous version of SAP and upload to the new all of them to the new version.
All the BOMs have revision levels w.r.t. to a change number.
While manually changing the BOM the revision level can be updated by entering the BOM w.r.t. a change number and then in the menu --> extras --> new revision level.
Now we have to upload the BOMs through LSMW. It is not picking up the revision level while uploading.
Please give your suggestions.

If u have created proper change no in cc01with assigned object material with proper validity period-> u can give revision level to material...
Once rev. level is there in material...
Creat PO..-> check in item detailsmaterial data tab for revision field..

• Multiple Revision Levels for a Material

Today, Tyco Electronics has many manufacturing sites located around the world. A given material may be manufactured in multiple locations. When Engineering determines that a given material must change revision level, they determine a date that this new revision level becomes effective. Unfortunately, not all manufacturing sites can be ready to manufacture to that new revision level. In fact, based on tooling, one manufacturing site may manufacture to both the old and new revision level for a period of time until all of their tools/dies have been switched over. In addition, customers may require that only the latest revision be sold to them. Does anyone else have this requirement/issue today? If so, how are you handling this within the SAP R/3 system since material revision is at a global level and there is no component revision level field on the bill of material. Requirements are to sell at a material/revision level, plan to a particular material/revision level, stock at a material/revision level. Any input you have would be greatly appreciated.

Which strategy shall I use for picking?
Can you please guide me what material master data fields are required for these strategies.
regards,
VS
