Revolve and transparency in CS2

Hi, I'm using Illustrator CS2 to create a 3D image that has a degree of transparency. Basically a clear tube that is half filled with blood.
I've created a profile that contains a red line with a curved bottom for the (blood-filled) half of the tube, and a grey line for the upper (empty) half of the tube. The grey line has been set to about 20% opacity, so that the top surface of the blood and the top rim can be seen through the wall of the tube.
As I've being going along creating the profile, I keep checking my progress by turning on the 3D effect and selecting preview. However, when I do this, it's hit or miss as to whether the upper part of the tube previews as transparent. About half the time that I select it, the upper part of the tube becomes an opaque light grey, instead of being transparent.
Has anyone experienced this before? Does anyone know if I'm doing something wrong, or is it just a bug in the software? I'm using XP on a 2.4GHz Core2 with 3GB RAM.

Interfaces (IR) provide you with transparency and homogeneity....even the monitoring UIs (RWB, SXMB_MONI) account to transparency

To authorize more users after the volume has been encrypted, select the FileVault tab in the Security & Privacy preference pane. Click the lock icon in the lower left corner and authenticate to unlock the settings, if necessary. Click Enable Users...
You should only enable users whom you trust implicitly with all data on the system, not just their own data.

The mac you want to install photoshop cs2 on is running mac os x 10.6.8 Snow Leopard?
(photoshop cs2 won't run on intel macs with mac os x newer than snow leopard)
Did you ever have cs2 installed on this particular computer before?
If the problem is that you already installed cs2, but it won't activate, that's because adobe took the activation servers offline for some older adobe products such as cs2.
You'll need to use the non activation version of cs2 from here and the supplied serial number:

SVG to PDF/AI gradient and transparency issues

This is probably quite off topic for these forums, so apologies for that up front, but I can't seem to get answers in more appropriate places.
I am trying to use inkscape or rsvg-convert, which both use cairo, to convert SVG to PDF.
Firstly, when I open the SVG in Illustrator directly, everything works as expected, but the cairo converted PDF has a couple of problems.
Typically I get "An unknown shading type was encountered" and the offending shapes are un-editable "images" with a clipping mask over them.
There are two circumstances that result in problems for me.
1) A gradient with only 2 stops.
In the following example I have duplicated the offset="0" stop which fixes things and means that the resulting shape that is filled with this gradient works fine. Without the duplicate declaration, the gradient is converted to an un-editable image with a clipping mask when the PDF is viewed in Illustrator.

2) A shape that has an opacity that is less than "1". I don't know how to fix this one and still maintain the look of the original. I understand that there are some issues with transparency and the PDF format, but obviously the full AI version of the PDF format these days supports transparency.
Does anyone have any experience doing server-side conversions of SVG to PDF and have managed to create a PDF which contains gradients and transparency that are actually editable once opened in Illustrator?
Or does anyone know if there is something more I can do with the original SVG code to make the opacity work ok in the final PDF?

Works fine for me as .ai with pdf comptible turned on. You may have input transparency in the wrong location in Illustrator. Change opacity in the gradient palette, and not tint in the color palette.
Opacity is 0 here, anything less tha 100% will create tranaprency. To proof in Illustratopr do a Shift Command D to change your background to a checkerboard pattern.

The only way to configure load balancing and transparent failover in RAC 11 g R2 is using the clauses LOAD_BALANCING and FAILOVER on the tnsnames.ora of application server. Is that correct?

If the database is admin-managed, I shall suggest that rather than playing with the remote_listener parameter , set one service as preferred for one instance.For the other service, let it be preferred on both the nodes. The service with just one instance as Preferred won't be able to use loab-balancing as there is just one instance available for its disposal.

Can I install and run Photoshop CS2 on a Windows 7 64Bit OS?

I just purchased a computer It is a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS. Can I install and run Photoshop CS2? What issues would I have?

For what it's worth I have Photoshop CS2 running fine on Vista x64, but I've not moved it over to my Windows 7 x64 machine. Generally speaking, things that work fine on Vista x64 work fine on Windows 7 x64.
That said, you might want to wait until you hear from someone who's actually tried the exact combination themselves.

Colour and transparent boolean

Hello everyone,
I want to set the boolean indicator to colour and transparant. This mean when error occurs, boolean indicator will be changed to red and transparent, so this boolean will not cover the below floor map. I set all boolean onto the actual floor map and i don't want to cover floor map. I can set only transpaent at no error state but i cann't set red colour and transparent at error state.. Is there any way to set. Thanks for all in advances..

Here's a very rough draft of the idea above (LabVIEW 8.5). Of course you should import custom graphics into the boolean indicators for the desired look.

Pantone spot colour and transparency don't work together

Using indesign CS5, I make a pantone solid spot colour background.
I import two of the same photos: one a greyscale circular pshop file with transparency surrounding the circle ( the file is not flattened).
The other is the same photo, but I make a clipping path around the circle and then flatten the file and save as a jpg.
Both photos are put on top of the pantone solid color background in Indesign.
I export the indesign file as pdfx 1a using pdf-presets under the file menu.
If I open the pdf in Acrobat and open the "output preview" panel and turn off the "simulate overprinting" box, the pshop photo disappears, but the jpg with the clipping path is fine. They print as they appear: one disappears (Pshop file) and one is OK: the jpg.
If you import the pdfx 1a pdf back into Indesign, you will see that the pshop image has disappeared.
I understand this happens to others not just me. is there a fix?
Does it work with all a spot colours and transparency?
If I save as a higher version of acrobat (say 7). The pdf looks fine and imports back into indesign fine.
And if I send to the RIP the RIP seems to handle it fine. But if I take that Acrobat 7 file and put on a page and export as pdx-1a, I get the same problem

Spot colors and Transparency do not play well together, but can be used together if you follow some rules.
jpg does not support transparency. If you're working within InDesign, you can, and should save as and use psd or tiff. Tiff supports transparency if toggled during the Save As dialog.
x1/a pdf does not support transparency, hence it was lost. In my environment, Press Quality PDF has never failed me, but High Quality and x4 have added benefits of Color Management.

It should work, I would do a restore on it and if that doesn't work then you will have to get a new one. It should work, all iPod touches are the same exept for colors and storage sizes. Doesn't matter where it was bought it should still work. If the ipod doesn't show up in iTunes, put it in DFU mode. You can google how to do that, and then restore it through DFU mode. If a DFU restore doesn't work, then the iPod has some hardware issues and will need to be returned.

ASA Multicontext and Transparent standby IP address

i have ASA multicontext and transparent in Active/Standby mode, failover is OK, i dont have managment ip address the firewall is managed by ip address assigned on inside context.

i can access active firewall on 10.1.1.1, but i cannot access the standby or ping it !!! what should i do to allow access (ssh) on the standby device ?

Comcast lacks integrity and transparency

I have been a customer of Comcast/AT&T Broadband/TCI for over twenty years. Recently I retired and decided that I needed to reduce my expenses. Over the past five years I have seen my cost for phone, internet and cable go from just under $90.00 per month up to over $190.00 per month. I called Comcast to cancel my cable service, since for the most part I am satisfied with the over the air stations I can receive in my area. Even though it was nice to have the additional cable channels, I found I spent less than 10 hours a month watching these premium services. Instead of just terminating the service I requested, the agent went over my options to reduce my bill, he offered to reduce my bill down to $139.00 per month for basically the same services I was getting at over $190.00 per month. I explained that being retired, even $139.00 month was more than I could justify. He told me that for just telephone and internet service I would be paying $108.00 plus taxes/fees. If I were to just get phone it would be about $54 month, and internet alone would be $76 month. I told him I wasn't interested in cable service, he then offered me cable, phone and internet for $89.00 month plus taxes and fees. I found this experience quite frustrating. I found that Comcast lacks integrity, and transparency. If they can offer all three services (albeit it was basic cable, telephone and internet), for $89 plus taxes/fees, why can't I get basic phone and internet service was less than that price point. I am tired of having to play let's make a deal with Comcast. If my local telephone company could offer decent intenet service, I would call it quits with Comcast completely. Even returning the cable boxes to Comcast was a hassle, the only practically place to return equipment is 5 miles away, and 30 minute drive due to the location. It took me 45 minutes to return four cable boxes and four remotes. Not good customer service.

Sorry to hear about the poor experience you had. I do see you have already canceled the TV and phone. I also see you were put in full price for Internet. I was able to give you a discount on that for your troubles.
We do try and put the service centers within reasonable distances mileage-wise, however we cannot do much about how long it takes you to get there. Length of time it takes you to get there is not a customer service issue as there are far too many factors playing into how long it takes to get to a location.

I have the same exact thing happening. Not a lot of people have this problem. So I'm just going to go to the apple store to see if they can help.
