Rewrite the vhd file created by win7 image creation

Hi,
I'm trying to do something, something more to utilize the image vhd file, not just leave it there as a pure backup file.
After the vhd gets attached, it can be accessed as a usual hard drive. Change anything like copy a random file into it, name it file A, then reboot the system, press F8 and call the image restore procedure.
15min or more, I get the restored system. However file A meant to be in there at the exactly location I copied to, as a matter of fact it's non there..
Isn't that possible to customize the vhd file created by sys creation program? I even would like to apply differencial VHD storage to customize the backup VHD and eventually customize the physical OS at a low risk.
In this case, it seems impossible to make it work.

Many thanks man:)
About what I changed to the backup VHD file... Hmm, I would tell, huge!
Not just create a file, but a fully functional installation of Win7 with up-to-date software set. Whereas the physical machine( the host of the backup VHD file), which I just take as a nude sys with image-creation-and-restoration functioning. In another word,
the child VHD file is the future of its parent, as well as the nude host.
Well,in my case, no yahoo for where is the file I created, but yahoo for where is my fully installed windows!
Since we discussed so far, I'd like to share another phenomenon, weird one, which I think is the reason why I insist working on this.
My physical windows- the nude one, how does it get installed? Guess what! From VHD backup file, just through the restoration procedure, and it's done!(Before the nude, the ex is a dying version- which could no longer endure my toture... and the most original
root VHD backup came from that version before I killed it.)
Think about it, what I am trying to do right now is just to rerun the holy restoration...
Unfortunately, miracle dies in coincidence, it never happens again so far...
VSS is a nice clue, I shall follow.
Rgds

  • What format are the .tmp files created by hp scanner deskjet f2400?

What format are the .tmp files created by hp scanner deskjet f2400?  I had a customer get the dreaded "out of space" error after scanning over a hundred pages that she was going to have all in one multipage pdf.  So all that work was gone (each page was a painstaking layout of multiple elements, etc.), except for the hpfAAAA.tmp files.
I'm trying to recover the data.  I should say, the data is now recovered, but now I must figure out a way to use it.  How can I open these HP .tmp files?  What format are they saved in?  There is no human-readable header to give me a clue.
If anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated.  You will be saving a very nice woman many hours of work duplicating what she already did.  Thanks,

    Hi LC475,
There would be no way to read the .tmp file. Unfortunately she will need to free up space on her hard drive before attempting to scan the documents again.

  • When is the ear file created , is it on deploy or when the project is built

When is the ear file created , is it on deploy or when the project is built
in which case whats the path on the file system??

    Hi Saket,
The ear file is created when you do the following. DC Build of the project, Deploy and Run application, Deploy when there are changes made after last deployment, When you deploy for the first time, Create Archive option etc.
A sample path of the ear file is as follows
    Workspace\CE711SP1.jdi\LocalDevelopment\DCs\demo.sap.com\actionvalidationtest\_comp\gen\default\deploy
@Siva Thanks for pointing out the mistake. A Webdynpro build or rebuild will not create the ear file. But a DC build will create the ear file though. I have corrected my post.
    Hope this helps,

  • Script Alert: "Sorry I could not process the following files" (Error Message using Image Processor)

I'm a seasoned Photoshop/Bridge CS5 user who recently upgraded to CS6.  In Bridge I just ran my first Image Processor batch, trying to convert a set of RAW .NEF files to .PSD files with a basic editing action I created applied to them.  Photoshop CS6 opens the files from Bridge and applies the actions, but then I get the "Script alert" error message "Sorry I could not process the following files" and a list of all of the files in the batch I was trying to run the script on.  The files all remain open and are saved on my hard drive in a folder created by the Image Processor script, but do not close unless I manually close them.  I never had this problem in CS5 where the image processor would apply the desired actions to the batch of photos one at a time, then save and close.  Thoughts on how I can fix this bug?

    Hey Jeff--
No specific action steps to make the image safe - no flattening, etc. Had problems narrowing down the specific action step causing the problem. So I ran the Image Processor script in the ExtendScript ToolKit and debugged in. (I'm using the version that shipped with CS4.)
Turns out what was happening is that the app.activeDocument.close() command on line 1490 was never getting called, because the this.SaveFile() above it was throwing an exception. More debugging got me to the problem - SaveFile() tries to restore the history state after making a doc safe for saving as a JPEG. This causes an exception. So I commented out line 1571:
    // app.activeDocument.ativeHistoryState = historyState;
The script runs just fine after this. I commented out the close to see what history states got added to the doc, but no new states are recorded, so commenting out the restore line should not cause any problems.
Of course, my solution does not solve the problem and I may need to comment out all the saveFile() lines that does this. Not sure why some actions have this problem and others don't. The actions I am running have about 25 steps. Perhaps PS is not catching up quick enough. I added a $.sleep(2500) after the restore history but that didn't help.
So, not sure where this gets us. I will check about posting an action set with just one of the actions that cause the problem. But I may also have our customer comment out that line of the Image Processor script.
Hope this helps. May post more next week.

  • What  is the preferred file format for vector images for use in Microsoft SharePoint so that they do

I have been having a hard time figuring out how to export vector images and then have them show up in Sharepoint looking as good as they do prior to being imported to SP. I have tried EMF files, PNG's, jpgs.
    original file above -
    how it looks in sharepoint
    Thank you -

Sharepoint automatically saves two preview images in jpg format on the server durin upload. The quality of those preview/thumbnail  images cannot be influenced, and as you can tell, is quite bad.
This behaviour can be turned off in the code of the page(s) by setting the ThumbnailsEnabled property to false.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.spdocumentlibrary.thumbnailse nabled.aspx
The original is not touched in any way, though - it is still available for use.
When browsing from a picture library if you click on the thumbnail, then the resize option, it will show your original png.
SharePoint automatically creates two JPG images every time you upload image to a Picture Library: they are thumbnail image and web preview image. They're stored along with the original image in the Picture library.
No in-place conversion happens: the image is converted only once during the initial upload process.
SharePoint needs these extra images to display picture library thumbnail views and item forms correctly, quickly and not causing excessive server load.
You can retrieve your original image at any time, it has permanent server path and could be accessed directly for whatever you need.

I tried to create a pdf file by "create pdf...from multiple files" and I get the "this file is protected message. I already tried to unprotect, it was not protected in the first place, and it will not let me do it.

  • What are the temporary files created by Tuxedo 8.1 in /tmp

    Hello there,
I've noticed that Tuxedo is storing files into /tmp/tx000XCi002W08 !!??
Does anybody know when and why tuxedo is doing this ?
By the way is it possible to move the location of these temporary files somewhere else ?
    My config infos:
    - Tuxedo 8.1
    - OS AIX 5.3TL6
    - Domain is run using MP mode
    - Domain is made of two LMIDs
Edited by [email protected] at 11/27/2007 9:03 AM

    Herbert,
The temporary files stored in directories similar to /tmp/tx000XCi002W08 are
used to lock the Tuxedo VTOC (Virtual Table Of Contents) when it is updated.
This occurs when a TUXCONFIG, BDMCONFIG, or TLOG file is created, but does
not occur when the MIB updates one of these files or when a TLOG record is
written. These lock files are used to protect against two process creating,
destroying, or modifying the file list in a particular VTOC at the same
    time.
As long as your application does not continually vary the location of the
TUXCONFIG, BDMCONFIG, or TLOG files, there should be only a small number of
such directories under /tmp. When Tuxedo is shut down, any such directories
    can be safely removed.
Although the location of most temporary files in Tuxedo can be changed using
the TMPDIR environment variable, the location of the VTOC lock files cannot
be changed, since different processes could have different values of TMPDIR

Ecs file corruption. Not enough room in the output error.what is this error message. How do i resolve this
    Thanks for you help,

    Souji,
Not sure but issue may be related to OS or dot net. Can you try to open the same file in any other machine which has B2B Doc Editor installed? You may also search on Google for "Simple methods to deal with Not Enough Room In Buffer To errors"

  • Automatically Tagged the PDF files Created from Templates

I have some PDF templates which have texts, fields, table, or lines in it. They are made accessible by tagging manually and creating special reading order when press tab through the pages.
After run a program which uses Adobe FdfApp and FdfDoc object to add data in the fields of the templates and save as an fdf file, then use CAcroAVDoc / CAcroPDDoc object convert fdf file to a PDF file. This PDF file will keep special reading order when press tab through the pages, but no Tag. (Tagged PDF: is No).
Is there a way can keep the tag of PDF templates, after run FdfApp? If not, how automatically to create the PDF file tag or import tag from its template?

No, the process of importing an FDF into a PDF does not maintain any tagging.

  • What are the log files created while running a mapping?

Hi Sasi , I have a doubt who actually generates the " Log Events ". Is it the Log Manager or Application services ?

Hi Anitha, The Integration service  will be generate two logs when the mapping runs 1) Session log  -- Has the details of the task ,session errors and load statistics..2) Workflow log -- Has the details of the workflow processing, and workflow errors..  The workflow log will be generated when the workflow started and the session log will be generated once the session intiated. For more detail Please refer the infa help docs... Normally the services will generate log  ex: IS and RS will log their activity...  The below process will happen the when the workflow inititated..[Copied fropm infa help docs] 1.#The Integration Service writes binary log files on the node. It sends  information about the sessions and workflows to the Log Manager.2.#The Log Manager stores information about workflow and session logs in the  domain configuration database. The domain configuration database stores  information such as the path to the log file location, the node that contains  the log, and the Integration Service that created the log.3.#When you view a session or workflow in the Log Events window, the Log Manager  retrieves the information from the domain configuration database to determine  the location of the session or workflow logs.4.#The Log Manager dispatches a Log Agent to retrieve the log events on each  node to display in the Log Events window.    ThanksSasiramesh
