RF device for Yard management
Hi Experts
I have configured yard management in a dev system and could perform all the transations. I am able to do the RF relevant transaction on desktop.
I need to know, how the RF device is connected so that to perform the transactions on RF device and ensure updation in system.
Please provide the information on - Where to get the device, How to conenct it with system, any other technical data relevant to RF device.
warm regards
marias
Hello Marias,
What is consisting in your system landscape? Yard Management as far as i know is part of SAP EWM. What is the RFID middleware coming into your landscape?
I dont think direct device integration is possible. Always RFID middleware ( device integrator and business management layer, SAP AII ) will come for integration. Backend integration will only be possible with SAP Exchange Infrastructure. SAP EWM avails direct integration with SAP Auto Identification Infrastructure.
(SAP AII).

Hi,
This thread is created to collect information around the features of Yard Management. Please provide busincess process procudure and configuration information and links in this space. Helpful information will be rewarded with points. Basic information around EWM and Yard Management is available in wiki ERP Operations at following link.

Cheers,
SarveshHello Survesh,
Here is the business process for Yard Management:
1. Create Vehicle
2. Create Transporation Unit (TU)
3. Assign Transporation Unit to Vehicle
4. Assign Delivery to Vehicle/TU
5. Check in Vehicle
6. Create Warehouse Task to Move vehicle from Check point to Parking Lot
7. Create Warehouse Task to Move vehicle from Parking Lot to Door
8. Create Warehouse Task to unload TU in staging area
9. Check out the Vehicle.
The key points for configuration:
Pre-requisite if using HU:
1. Maintain packaging material in R/3 and EWM (with material type VERP)
2. Maintain Packaging Material Type and HU type in EWM for product (Material) in product data
3. Define packaging specification to create HU for product.
Customization:
1. Activate Yard management
2. Master data settings for yard
- Define storage type with YARD
- Define check points
- Define section (Optional)
3. Define doors
4. Assign doors to yard bin
Hope this helps.

I have three iPhone 4 models purchased in late 2010 (for my family) that all share the same iTunes account for access to apps and music, but each phone/user still has his/her custom contact list, email accts, and select lists of apps and music from the one iTunes acct library. The problem is I can only update the software on one of the three iPhones – the primary phone I used to setup the iTunes acct. What is the best solution to manage these devices for software updates, apps? This is probably a common problem with families wanting to share apps and music without realizing the issues created by this approach. As it stands today... the first (primary) iPhone associated with the iTune acct has been updated with the latest software version 5.1.1 and sync'd up with all the apps, music, etc from the one iTune acct, while the other two iPhones are still running on the original software version 4.0.2 and are experiencing problems now. I was advised by AT&T back in January that it would be necessary to setup separate iTunes accts for the second and third iPhones in order to receive system updates. The problem would be how to keep all the apps, etc from being deleted off the second and third phones that were originally loaded from the one iTunes acct. Since this AT&T advice was prior to iCloud coming out, would iCloud be a better solution or at least part of the solution? I really don't yet understand how iCloud works. Hopefully, someone out there can help me?? Please?

Can't enroll devices with Profile Manager - invalid key
n my case I can install profiles on devices from Profile Manager page but I cannot enroll devices.
The certificate I download to enroll is reject by my MacBook Pro Lion: Says Invalid blablabla at the end:
Now I have done log research and I now exactly and understand why it doesn't work:
the scep_helper daemon is supposed to listen to port 1640 TCP (which you should forward to your server by the way, if you want to be able to enroll devices) and provide the requsting client the root CA that signed the certificate. In my case, it can't find the root CAT to provide the client with so it can finalize the cert validation process.
In my case, that's what I see in the log:
Jul 29 02:12:44 teknologism scep_helper[1638]: SCEP_HELPER: /SourceCache/RemoteDeviceManagement/RemoteDeviceManagement-701.70/scep_helper/m ain.m:727 'status = SCEPGetCACert(session, NULL, 0)' = -25300

Jul 29 02:12:44 teknologism ProfileManager[516]: Could not retrieve root certificate from open directory server.
No , as for the bad news: I have no idea on how to fix. Have dug into scep_helper, googled etc. Not a single clue on how to check it's configuration or even why it can't find the root CA. By the way everyhting else (I really mean everything, ical, cardav, web, wiki etc.) work great. And profile manager too, it's just the enroll thingy that doesn't work. And the root CA cert is in /etc/certificates. My server a legit Class 1 SSL cert signed by a system trsuted CA (Startfiel to name it)
I have tried with other certs etc... It's a no go.
Can anyone help ??
How can I add that missing CA Cert in opendirectory ?Here is some more infos...

I own several for work—and personal Apple devices and have been using one Apple ID to discover, manage and play content. This content consists of items that are (1) work based (2) personal based (3) family/child based (e.g. Monsters Ink).
I purchased an iPad Mini for my husband at Christmas, and he purchased an Apple TV for the family— and now we are perplexed at how to manage assets that are "family" based without purchasing them twice. Essentially want apps, movies and music related to our pre-K son on both of our devices. Otherwise managing this will quickly become a nightmare of who owns what on which decive.
Can anyone recommend how to do this?

I have a new computer and I want to make it my home device for I tunes. I have home sharing, and all of the music and files are on the new computer. Now what do I do to make the new computer the home computer for Itunes?
The computer (windows platform) where I initially began using Itunes has four other computers/devices that are shared with it. All four of the other computers show up in my account, and can be managed. Or I can remove them. But on the new computer that I want to be my base computer (home if you will). The computer I want it to replace, when ITunes is open, has a tool bar, with various functions. All of the other devices are linked to that computer in ITunes, under Home SHaring. The new computer, shows the downloads via Home Sharing, but it does not show/have any tool bar.
I want to activate the new computer to be the computer via ITunes where all of the devices are linked to it as the base for ITunes. And, I don't know how to make that happen.
I hope that makes sense. -
Hi,
When trying to schedule a vehicle in yard management I get the error message : Generation error in TSTR_SHIFTS_LOG_NO_BREAKS
Message no. T9506
Diagnosis
An error has occurred in the generation program for the time stream
Does anyone know what causes this error?
Thanks a lot,
JorisHi Joris,
The factory calendar is passed from the ERP to the APO system during
ATP check.
In your system, please do the following:Goto SPRO transaction.
Goto the menu: General settings->Maintain calendar.
Open the calendar '01' for example. Here you can see that the calendar is maintained
until 2010 only. Can you pelase extend this calendar into the future
and the error will not occur.
Hope this helps

How to set up a TC to act as a back-up device for PC & PC laptop
am hoping someone can help me out. my mom bought a TC to act as a new router/external back-up device for her PC & her PC laptop. she is mac-free except for the TC & an ipod touch.
is there someone who can help explain how to do this in nice simple terms, as my knowledge is rather limited in terms of technical stuff. i managed to get my own TC up & running quite easily, but it is on my imac....
thanks to any and all in advance. The Time Capsule (TC), although primarily intended for Time Machine backups, can be used by both PCs and Macs for other types of backups as well. The key is that the backup software used must be able to recognize/access network drives as not all do.
As an example, for my Vista PC, I currently use Genie Backup and have been successful in performing backups to a variety of network drives, including AirPort Disks (drives attached to AirPort Extreme Base Stations); however, I do not currently have a TC so I can't tell you 100% if there are any issues doing so with it.
On the other side of the coin, the closest non-Apple device that will perform similar Time Machine/Time Capsule-type backups is the HP Smart Media Center. -
Print and Softproof colors are bad for "Application managed color"
Hello... Not sure if my problem is a Mac OS X issue, or a Lightroom issue. Either way I hope it is just user error.
While printing, my prints look good using "printer managed color", both preview and printed output look good. I am used to using "application managed color" and am getting very poor colors, in both the preview and the printed output.
I am somewhat familiar with color management, and understand the basic concepts of profiles.
I have a new iMac 20" display, that is calibrated. I am printing on a HP 8450. It appears that both the printer and LR are trying to manage my color when I am trying to do a "application managed color" print. Not being familiar with OS X, I have not been able to determine how to disable the color management of my printer driver.
If anyone has any suggestions, please help... I have been fighting this off and on all day...
One other thing... off topic, but if anyone knows how to adjust a 20" iMac 20 RGB values, please let me know. I can't see how to manually adjust the individual channels.
Thanks, MikeWell, it sounds like you are not getting all your ducks in a row on setting up LR for "application managed color". There aresome excellent step by steps in one or two other threads. A key point is using the individual icc profile for the specific paper not the generic.
To properly calibrate you Monitor you should use a Calibration device, like a Spyder not tweek the numbers by hand/eye.
It is just user error.

Yard Management and Handling Unit Management
I am configuring yard Management in ECC6.0 for a LSP business. Ecc 6.0 is standard and not LSP sepcific industry.
Requirement is :
Track the Container once unloaded at the Port with its content - This I have mapped as HU management.
Recieve the Container at the Freight Forwarder (FF) Whse and perform Check In activity. .
Ability to issue Gate Pass once vehicle arrives at the ,FF whse.
Keep track of inventory of Containers by Shipping Line.
Recieve Empty containers from Shipping line.
Know the container as to how long it has been at the FF Whse to bill the Shiping line for Storage charges of the Container.
Solution concept:
I am thinking that this will be used with HU management and Yard Management. Only doubt I have is that whether Yard Management will track my Containers or Not. The Gate Pass Issued by Yard Management is for the Vehicle and not the Container.
Any inputs will be highly appreciated
Thanks
RajHi Rajeev,
Thanks for the Answer. yes, I need reports to Track the Container by Freight Forwarder ie if a Container belongs to P&O Nedlyod shipping line then I should get the details of teh same . Also Empty Container comes in and then its loaded with Outbound delivery. I am putting the container number in the Container field when we do the check in and putting the forwarding agent as the respective shipping line that way I will know how many container of different size of Forwarder is in my Yard.
Also client wants a way to create a Container Master ie The shipping line gives a list of Empty containers which are lying at the Port. Only when the client needs the containers , he will ask for the same with the shipping line. Not sure is there any standard way of handling this in Yard Management. I am more inclined to make a Z Table to store this data.
Also in the process once I have the container in the Yard , I need to stuff this container with Deliveries. I am planning to Pack the Delivery goods on a Pallet and then Pack this Pallet on to the Conatiner. I am doing this via VL02n transaction . I was somehow unable to locate the Container by Conainer ID when I need to stuff the same in VL02N. Maybe I am missing something or is the data not available? If not , then I plan to get the same by means of some user exit on the HU side ie Check for a HU which is Empty and has the type 20 feet or 40 feet as the case may be and show a Pop up of the same and let user select the COntainer in which he needs to pack the Pallets.
Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

Vehicle stuck in Yard Management - Is there a way to change the HU Status?
Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to remove a vehicle that's stuck in Yard Management (under a warehouse) but I had no luck so far. The problem is that the Handling Unit was set to deleted and I haven't been able to change its status through HU02 or even using HUMO. The system status right now is DLTD. When I try to delete the vehicle in YM, it says that I can't because of the status that's in right now.
Is there a way to change the system status back to 'PLND' for example?
Also, if I could find a way to set the user status, would it prevail over the system status?
If more information is needed, I'll gladly provide it.
Thanks everyone!Hi Petr,
Thanks for replying.
I tried using this transaction but I don't think it's implemented in my company's SAP version.
I think I found what the problem is. In VEKP, the status field (VEKP-STATUS) is set to '0001' (Planned) instead of 0060 (Deleted). But if I display it using tcode HUMO, it shows up as 'DLTD'. Maybe the issue is that both status are not in sync with each other and that's why I can't remove the vehicle from Yard Management. -
Output determination for inventory management
hi everybody,
i have gone through total configuration of output determination of invetory management and suceeded in getting printout of GR but the problem is when we post gr in migo with movement type 101 it is no capturing output type we01 or we02 or we03. so when we go to mb90 there is no output type determined. then we have to go to mb02 and manually assign the ouput typ we02 and save it and then again get the printout through mb90. so can anybody tell me regarding the default settings of output type to come in mb 90Hi
Check following if usefull to u
1. Maintain the Printer Name in SPRO->Matl Mgmt->Inv Mgmt and Phy Inv->Print Control->Gen Settings->Printer Setting
2. Ensure that in SPRO->Matl Mgmt->Inv Mgmt and Phy Inv->Print Control->Gen Settings->Item Print Indicator, 1 stands for Matl Doc print out
3. In SPRO->Matl Mgmt->Inv Mgmt and Phy Inv->Print Control->Gen Settings->Print Version, maintain Print Version 2
4. In SPRO->Matl Mgmt->Inv Mgmt and Phy Inv->Print Control->Maintain Print Indicator for GI/Transfer Posting Documents
5. In SPRO->Matl Mgmt->Inv Mgmt and Phy Inv->Output Determination->Maintain Output Types, for the Output types WE01, WE02 and WE03, ensure the foll:
a. Default Values: Dispatch Time is 3 or 4 as per reqmt. and Tr medium is 1
b. Print Parameter is 7
6. In SPRO->Matl Mgmt->Inv Mgmt and Phy Inv->Output Determination->Printer Det->Pr Det by Pl/StoLoc, maintain the Output device for all your Plants
7. Go to MN21, for Tr Type WE, Print Version 3, maintain Print Item as 1.
Now the settings are ready for Printing Material doc
8. While doing MIGO, ensure that in General Tab, you get "3 Collective Slip" beside the Print Indicator and you tick mark the field.
9. Now depending on the setting in 5a, the Matl doc is printed. If it is 3, you have to print it using MB90. If it is 4, it is printed immediately.

I have tryed to install the software on my PC from the downloads page ( for tranfering mp3's and CD's to my player) but when it prompts me to plug in my ZEN Sleek it doesn't recognize the device as being there. I get a "Connect Device" for it to search message. I know my USB is fine. ( I have a PSP/Playstation Portable). Am i missing something, perhaps a driver I also I checked to see if the ZEN Sleek is listing in the device manager. It isn't. What do i do Much Thanks, 2W3Message Edited by 2W3 on 05-26-20070:08 PM
Tried various boot sequences but still no luck. This is extremely frustrating since everything is rev'd up and ready to go...but the OS won't boot.
It appears that everything gets loaded to the HD but the HD will not "boot". This will happen if I make the HD the 1st, 2nd or 3rd boot device in the sequence.
I've seen some chatter about Corsair XMS and K8T Neo incompatability cretaing boot problems. How about the BIOS version...any suggestions or ideas?
Kinda stumped here and don't want an expensive paperweight -
