RF - Product identification modelling

Hello Gurus,
I'm currently starting  a WM project in a leather-products manufacturing company. I have to implement RF based operations in their raw materials and finished products warehouses. I hope you can throw me some useful tips on how would be the best approach for product handling and identification.
WIth their current software they identify their raw materials (leather skins) with an EAN 128 barcode that groups together material number, batch and quantity. They have worked with their suppliers in order for them to ship the products with this label from their plants. By reading this label, they perform goods receipt, stock placement in storage bins (various materials and batches in the same bin), picking, etc. They reprint the label every time a stock removal is performed in order to update the batch quantity.
If I intend to map this exact process in SAP, I would have to develop my own custom screens that can read and interpret the EAN 128 barcode, and execute function modules to create TOs and confirm them automatically.
The other alternative would be to use storage units instead of their current EAN 128, which can also group and uniquely identify a material and batch quantity in a storage bin, which would require to print SU labels in goods receipt. This way I don't have to translate an EAN 128 barcode with application identifiers. Anyways, in both cases I would have to develop custom transactions because the customer wants to be able to perform stock transfers from bin to bin with just two barcode scans (product identification and destination storage bin).
How should I model this scenario? Should I use SUs or not?
Every piece of advice is greatly appreciated.

I put upgrading in quotations because I am not so sure it is an upgrade to go from PC to Mac, especially given all of the difficulty I am having getting the platform transferred over.  I appreciate the input about version 13 and see that you are correct.  Adobe is sending me a disc with the software on it.  I was trying to download it from the internet so I could get going with my new computer and photoshop.  However, every time I click on CS6 to download up comes CC.  CC seems to be an extended version of CS6 so I am hessitant to download it.  I was given the serial number to input re the program I ordered.  Not sure what to do at this point other than wait for Fed Ex to deliver disc to me next week. Any sugggestions?
Further question:  I downloaded and installed Lightroom 5.  I am on Mac Book Pro 4.  How do I activate the program?  Every time I double click on the Lightroom icon the installation dialogue comes up.  I read that I was to go to the download center, but I have no idea how to find it.  Help!

  • SAP CRM 7.0 Webclient - Product Identification (IBase or IObject)

    Dear SAP IC-Experts ,
I am new in the configuration of the SAP Interaction Center (SAP CRM 7.0) and have a process orientated question.
In my proyect the company is producing bathroom products which are installed in hotels, private homes, etc.. They sell their products via partner so they in most cases dont know where there products are installed until the end-user calls when they have a service problem. In the Interaction Center I have seen the Account and Product-identification Workcenter Page.
    1. My first question is do I have to use IBase or IObjects to save the proyects in the Database? If I understood correctly IObjects can only be used if I have a serial-number for example which are used for cars or laptops to be able to uniquely identifie a product. As Bathroom products does not have this this kind of identification number to identify a single object I have to use IBase right? Additionaly I the company sells for example 30 times a shower cabine to a hotel I can not use IObject too because there is installed 30 times the same product in different floors and hotel rooms. This leads me to the conclusion that we have to use IBase which leads my directly to the second question
    2. When using IObjects there is a Create-Button to create a new IOBject but this create button does not exists for a IBase in the View. When the end-user is calling me can I create in a very short time the installed base (IBase)? I hope I could make myself clear?
Basically I need to know if using IBase or IObjects for bathroom products and if using IBase how can I create it quickly as an IC Agent when the client is calling?
    Best Regards
    Oliver

    Hello Oliver,
Yes, you are correct. The IObject (individual object) is intended primarily for consumer-facing scenarios involving serialized registered products. For a B2B scenario where a company has a footprint of installed products (whether it be HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, faucets, etc.) it is probably preferrably to use the Installed Base object to model the installation.
As you noticed, there is no native possibility to directly create new Installed Base hierachies from inside the Interaction Center directly (though there is an option for IObjects). The rationale here is that while a contact center agent would often register a new consumer product, they probably would not usually create new Installed Base hierarchies; rather this is something that, like creation of service contracts for example, is typically done by a Service Professional using the ServicePro role. However, you can always add a link to your IC menu to launch the ServicePro screen for IBase maintenance/creation in order to allow the agent to create or maintain the IBase hierarchy. A little cumbersom of course, but definitely a possible workaround.
    Warm regards,
    John

  • Hammerstein identification model problem

Hi, I have a problem with system identification. I am using User-defined model an Hammerstein Model Simulation for identifying "unknown" system. I used LabVIEW example that works fine and I copy it to my VI. System identification is wrong but I don't know why. I can post a an image of VI or eaven VI itself if the problem could be solved. I must also mention that for data acquisition I use OPC client.
    Thank you.

    Hi andy22,
If I understood your post, you are using example code that identifies your system correctly.  However, once it is integrated into other code the results are wrong.  Are you using the same data in both programs?  You mentioned that the data is from an OPC client.  How is that being read in LabVIEW?  Have you verified that those values are correct?
If you could provide a few more details, possibly with code or screenshots, that would help as well.

  • Product identification, CS6 Version 13

I am "upgrading" from a PC to a Mac.  I am transferring my CS6 to the Mac and was given a product download code for CS6 version 13.  The Adobe helper kept telling me to click on the "full" version.  I didn't see anything refering to a full version.  Do you know if version 13 is the CC version or is it the straight CS6 version?

  • Distr. Key GLEI in Prod. order not getting reflected in SCM product view

    Hi,
We have the CIF integration model active to transfer production orders from R/3 to SCM-APO.
When we create a production order in R/3 it is getting transferred over to SCM and can be seen in Product view for the material-plant combination.
If we have the distribution key as GLEI on the production order in R/3, and we looked at stock requirements list-MD04 the receipts were split across evenly from the start date to the end date of the production order.
However, in the product view of SCM, the material was shown as available only at the end date of the production order with the full quantity.
Please provide any pointers as to something we might have missed out that made the CIF'ing not work properly...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Renjith John Andrews

    Hi Renjith
Yes I do mean the Production Process Model. To check setting you need to do the following:
    Transaction /sapapo/scc03
Click on choose plan via PPM and enter your material and location and press change.
    Double click your operation
    Double-click your activity
On the components tab you should see your "Output" material (Type O in I/O Indicator field), next to this should be the consumption indicator field. This is the one that has to be set to 'C'.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards

  • APO-MD - Mass Creation of Product Masters in APO.

I have need to create about 100,000 product masters in APO. The product master general data does exist as it has been CIFed over from R/3. However these need to be mass extended to several customer locations.
I am looking for any advice on tools/programs that will allow mass creation of Product masters in APO.

The Functiona Loader did mass create products but the product model assignment did not work even though the model number was mapped in the loader.
Did I miss something in the process.
Is there another way to mass assign products and model.

  • Where Can I Find a Complete Reference for ASA 5505 Product IDs?

I've spent way too much time exploring the Internet looking for a definitive reference to pin down and completely explain all of the Cisco product ID mumbo jumbo . . . specifically for the ASA 5505 security device.  In general I'd like to have this information for all things Cisco.  It is driving me crazy not to know this information IN TOTAL.  Yes, there's bits and pieces out there, but no offical guide or reference that details everything.  This is what I want to see.
    For example:  for the ASA5505 there's . . . ASA5505-50-BUN-K9, ASA5505-SEC-BUN-K9, ASA5505-UL-BUN-K9, etc.
What is the "BUN", "K9", "SEC", etc.  Not just what does it stand for (we can deduce that), but where did this come from and how can I quickly reference a new acronym which may show up in completely differnce Cisco device.  Also, specifically for the ASA 5500 line, I want to see a COMPLETE list of ALL of these IDs and want a legend to reference each part.  This is critical in my opinion for a project manager to make an informed decision about hardware.  Cisco documentation is grossly lacking for this (or at least I'm unable to find it).  The closest I've come was to discovery this whole notion of the Unique Device Identifier (UDI) which is the Cisco' product identification standard for labeling hardware products.
This is explained some here . . .
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/products_identification_standard.html
It's a good start but, it only creates more questions.  Where can I find ALL the PIDs and what does each acronym stands for?  What about the VIDs? . . . Where is a list of these what does each section mean?.  Why in the world is there no single source where all of this is pinned down.  With all of the mind-numbing Cisco documentation out there loaded with cryptic details about things many of us will never care to know . . . why not put out this much needed, practical reference of Product IDs which would have a wide appeal and could be useful to everyone from product specialist to system engineers?  It would make researching Cisco solutions to new projects exponentially less painful to know very quickly exactly what we're looking at when we encounter all of this product "code."
Am I the only one who feels this way?  I'm thinking not.  What say you?  Am I missing something?
    LT

There is no such published reference guide. The closest thing would be the global price list but it's generally not distributed. (What Jouni mentioned was probably an extract of that very large document.)
Due to the broad range of products (and associated bundles and services), Cisco uses online configuration and ordering tools (Cisco Commerce Workspace or CCW) internally and with its partners. The information in it is very dynamic and can change day to day as the tens of thousands of products Cisco offers are introduced, deprecated (i.e., Approaching or at End of Sales), offered in different promotional bundles, etc.
When a Cisco salesperson or partner solution advisor talks with a customer, they take the customer's input and build equipment, software and services configuration sets supporting the proposal. CCW will validate the required items are ordered and generate a configuration set that has not only the product IDs (PIDs, generally referred to as SKUs or Stock Keeping Units in this context) but also the plain language descriptions of what each PID means.
They should be conveying that information to you (or any customer they are engaged with) to enable you to make the informed decision you mention.

  • Engineer to Logical Model is not working!

    Hello
I have a model that I started by reverse engineering from the database and generated the ER Diagram by reverse engineering to Logical.
After this I had to add some more tables to the relational model which I realized was already in the database and reverse engineered that into the model as well. Now, I am unable to Engineer to logical. Is this an expected behaviour as designed?
Next I am going to try to reverse engineer from a relational model to a blank logical in a new data modeler design file. After that I will merge that change into current model. Please let me know if there is an easier way around this.
    Thanks & Regards
    Tiji

The valid scripts in this post solved my problem.
Re: Switch from v3EA4 to v3.0.0.4 production - Corrupted models?
Script #1: Search for invalid mappings.
Script #2: Clean up by removing invalid mappings.
Script #3: Call Forward Engineer dialog with exception handling included to share with forum or debug.
Script #4: Call Reverse Engineer dialog with exception handling included to share with forum or debug.
After running Script #2, when we run Script #1, the log will be empty which is the expected result. Now my reverse engineering option does work from relational to logical.
Thank you Phillip and DMBee for guiding me to the solution.
    Thanks & Regards
