RF Scanner auto logoff

Hi All,
I'm working with a company that uses RF scanners in their manufacturing facility.  When the scanners are left inactive for more than 20 minutes they are automatically logged off.  Where would I go in SAP to set or even remove the auto logoff for the scanners?

Hi ,
You need to maintain the setting for that in the RF Scanner ..Not in the SAP System.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Syed Quadri.

  • How to force open apps to close on auto logoff?

    Can anyone help me? Several family members use my iMac under a single profile, the ADMIN profile (I know - misteak!). Well, now I want change this. I plan to create an account for each user. Then, because everyone is used to leaving apps open and walking away from the computer, I want to make the computer automatically logout after a period of inactivity. Unfortunately, since users leave apps open, I want the computer to automatically close any open apps at the time of the auto logout. The problem I'm trying to resolve is that the auto logoff gets inturrupted if a user leaves an app open. They are then asked if they want to save their work, then someone else comes along and starts using the computer. I just want the computer to logoff regardless of any open apps and I don't care if any data may be lost. Any ideas on how to do this automatically? Thanks...

    When I do that mine wiggle but there no "x" like there used to be.

  • Auto Logoff while in Shared Services Security Mode

    Pretty simple question but I still haven't found the answer.
    My client's essbase server is set up in Shared Services Security Mode, so now the auto logoff options for the server don't apply. Is there a way to set this via shared services? Or is there some other means perhaps?
    Thanks for your time.

    Essbase will be default be in shared services security mode in 11.1.2, the wizard will not migrate security when in this mode.
    It is possible to revert it back but if you don't know the process then it is worth looking at alternatives first.
    You could use LCM to export the provisioning and then import into your target environment.
    Cheers

  • Auto Logoff when change url without logoff

    Hi, i had search the forum, but i don't find an answer!
    I have the following problem:
    We have the EP 6.0 and when the users are login, sometimes they change the url of the browser to go to www.google.de or other sides, but they forget to logoff! Then the session is not closed and some other people could go back in the history and then they are logged in!
    I search a possibility to auto logoff when change the side for example to call a javascript with the attribut onunload or something else!?
    I would be lucky with some ideas or a solution!
    Lars

    Hi Lars,
    This is not exactly what you are asking for, but it is closely related.  I hope that it may be of some help to you.  For my application, I wanted to logoff portal sessions, when users do not logoff BEFORE closing the browser session.
    Here is what we do:
    In the desktop framework, I have a footer.  The footer shows privacy information, etc.  Inside the html for this footer page, I capture a browser close event, and in this event, I logoff the portal session.  This footer is displayed on every page of the portal and effectively helps to conserve portal resources.
    Here is the javascript included in the footer.html
    <script type="text/javascript">
    window.onunload = function unloadEvent() {
         //alert ("Got here...");
         if (window.screenLeft == 10004) {
              // User clicked "X" to close Browser
              // alert ("To protect your privacy, please Logoff prior to closing your browser window.  Logging off now...");
              logoff();
    </script>
    Hope this helps,
    Kevin

  • How to change auto logoff time for Essbase AddIn when Essbase server is in Shared Services mode

    Hi all,
    could anybody describe me the way to change the auto logoff time for the Essbase Excel AddIn? I only know the possibility to change the properties in the EAS console, but our Essbase Server is running in Shared Services mode so the relevant settings doesn't apply...
    Thanks a lot!
    Kind Regards
    Andre

    You should still be able to set the "Inactive limit" in EAS or use Maxl e.g. alter system set session_idle_limit x minutes;
    Cheers

  • Auto-Logoff through GPO

    Hello Everyone,
    We have to auto-logoff all the users who are sitting idle for more than 1 hour. We have Most of 2003 servers. We were told that Terminal server licenses has not been there else we have a group policy in Terminal server which can auto-logoff users.
    But in my case how can we achieve this. Please help.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    We can achieve that using GPO. See the below ASKDS Link.

  • Auto Logoff on 2.7

    Hello,
    I am new to Solaris. and need some help on the following:
    1. how do you set the auto logoff feature on 2.7 to say 30 seconds ?
    is there some sort of a timeout command that can be used ? to automatically logoff a user after some time of inactivity ?
    thanks very much

    Hi
    Unfortunately, Solaris does not yet have this feature unless it is
    a telnet session where you may specify the "logout" variable for
    that telnet session. Look into the man pages for telnet.
    Alternately, you may use the K-Shell and it's variable TMOUT for setting the number of seconds of inactivity before the shell should timeout.
    For Example, to time out an inactive shell session after 3 minutes,
    put this line in the .profile of the user
    TMOUT=180;export TMOUT
    Drawback is that you can only use ksh
    HTH

  • Warning message to users before auto-logoff

    Our Basis folks have set up auto logout after a certain amount of user inactivity.
    The users have requested a warning message 10, and then 5 minutes before they are logged off due to inactivity.  Our Basis person says this would have to be done in ABAP. Is this true?.  If it is, how would I do it in ABAP? Is there a table that shows active/inactive time by user?  Thanks.

    OK - so they get a popup ten minutes before logoff; if they respond to it, the clock is reset and they don't get logged off; otherwise, another popup at five minutes; if they don't respond they get logged off. Is that about correct?

  • Auto Logoff SAPPHONE

    Experts,
    Has anyone come across the following requirement of Auto Log-off from SAPPHONE.
    Description:  Currently in the Call Center, a problem exists when agents do not logout of SoftPhone properly. When this occurs, Genesys still views the agent as logged in and available to receive calls. This has a negative impact on the call routing system. A system change is required that will automatically logout the agents when any of the following parameters have been met:
    If the agent has been Auto-In 30 minutes without an inbound call, the agent will be automatically logged out of SoftPhone.
    If the agent has been in ACW 30 minutes without changing call states, the agent will be automatically logged out of SoftPhone.
    Queries:
    1. Is this something feasible from ABAP code or some Java customization is required.
    2..How to capture/know the current state of agent (if he is in Auto-In or ACW) and also since how long he has been into that state.
    3. Is there some kind of configuration available in SAPPHONE to achive this requirement.
    4. Are there any EVENTS raised in SAPPHONE.
    Let me know if someone has some kind of technical documentation around this subject.
    Thanks,

    Hello friends,
    we have installed gplus adapter for sap-erp integration. Can some one please let me know how to configure a connection between sap application server and an Adapter.
    We got stuck in creating a SAPphone server on sap. In transaction SM59 while creating a new TCP/ip connection RFC destination, we need to set the RFC destination name and program id .
    what should be the value for program id? Do we need to code a RFC for this ? cos be gave the program id as SPS.PROG as mentioned in the gplus deployment guide, but the connection test failed.
    Can someone please help me in fixing this.
    Just one more, how to obtain SAP RFC SDK binary files? Shd these binary files need to be placed in the gplus working directory? Does the tcp/IP connection failed due to missing binary files?
    Thanks in Advance. please reply me on [email protected]

  • Portal session auto logoff

    Hi friends
    I have requirement let say the user is login to EP and he is idle for some time say eg 10 min i have to get 2 things
    1. The screen will give a message that the session have expired and that the user needs to logon again; or
    2. The screen will automatically logoff and should go directly to login screen.
    Can any body pelase let me know the solution.
    Thanks in advance.

    HI,
    for this you can create a custom application to log out from the portal after some idle time. you can change/add javascript code in masthead par file or create a new iview and assign to framework page, so it will work with the framework. see this article on [Idle timeout in portal|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/309379b6-bb9b-2d10-feb1-91f2a7078574?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true].

  • Auto logoff users

    Guys,
    Is it possible to create a policy that is able to logg users off from the network when they locked their computer?

    Hi enlil,
    You can enable windows lock using this Group Policy:
    Group Policy Management / Group Policy Editor: Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options> Microsoft Network Server: Amount of idle time required before suspending session.
    To logout session using GPO you must create a Scheduled task on every computer using Group Policy:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725745.aspx
    Scheduled task should be the following:
    Trigger: While computer idle
    Action: Start a program - C:\Windows\System32\logoff.exe
    Condition: Define the condition you need in order to trigger the log off.
    You can play around with the conditions to trigger the log off as you wish.
    Best regards,

    This has been fixed. I updated to the latest version of Java (Version 6 Update 17 (build 1.6.0_17-b04)) & cleared my browser history (temporary files, history, cookies, saved passwords and web form information). I did not have to reboot. Apparently, Java version 6 update 15 had some sort of conflict with P6 Web.
