RFC 0010 when FC report is refreshed in Infoview having prompts.

Hi,
I have a FC report based on prompts. When I refresh in FC it works fine. The same report when refreshed in Infoview it throws the above error: No server was able to process the request. contact your administrator. RFC 00101.
I have changed the timeout settings but found no use.
Any insights on this is greatly appriciated.

Have you applied any service pack for BOXIR2?
Which reports are these WebI,DeskI, or Crystal Reports?
Which InfoView do you have .net or java?
Is the issue is viewer specific?
Is the issue is with all the report or single report?

I have created a report which is using AS/400 db2 database.Connection is setup in a universe and through Client Access ODBC driver.
Users are trying to connect AS/400 db2 system through ODBC(Client Access ODBC driver) and full client BO 6.5.
It asks for signon to AS/400 prompt for USER ID and PASSWORD when BO report is refreshed by users.
Is there any way i can avoid the USER ID and PASSWORD as it is not feasible to give database USER ID and PASSWORD to each users.

Prompt's customized LOV is not pre-selected when webi report is refreshed

BO XI R 2 SP 1
DB: Oracle10g
Hi - I have customized LOV in every dimension and it's value is '*All'....it appears at the top of LOV values in the prompt list.
When I open the report, it shows the *All is already selected; but when I refresh this report using 'Refresh Data'; everythings comes up fine but *All no longer shows up as pre-selected value.
Is there a way to handle this situation? Please let me know if you need more explanation.
Note that when I hit the save button; report comes back with all '*All' pre-selected in all prompts.

I don't know how to access the document you mentioned...
anyway, to display All as customized value; edit the dimension's SQL and add
UNION
SELECT 'All' FROM DUAL (for oracle)
SELECT 'All' FROM anytablename (for SQL Server)
select the checkbox not to generate SQL and then click Run...click Display and then you should be able to see All as one of your custom value.

Error when running report in CMC and Infoview

Hi all,
i have this following problem:
- when i try to run report in cmc it fails and i get this error message: Error in File ~tmp1a745af945b59b0.rpt: Failed to load database information
- when i try to run the report in infoview the error message looks like this: Error in File test_4: Failed to load database information.
Where can be the possible problem ?

Sending an email when the report is being refreshed

You can do this multiple ways, As you mentioned using conditional ibot also. You should have flag or indicator in your database saying that ETL load was done. Then based on conditional request run a ibot. But the trick is after completing this ibot you need to turn of the flag.
Other easiest way is Create a report which runs ibot, Make sure you checked Oracle BI Server Cache feed check box, save the ibot. At the end of ETL execute a command which runs the ibot job for you. There is a command mode application available in Oracle BI called SASchInvoke.exe. This application will run the ibot for you.

When to call DocumentInstance.refresh()

I have a jsp page that takes URL encoded prompt name/value pairs, opens reports, fills in the prompts from the name/value pairs, refreshes the reports, and returns the results as a PDF file. It needs to be able to handle Web Intelligence reports and Desktop Intelligence reports. I've seen conflicting documentation and example code showing when to make the "refresh()" call. Some says before the prompts are set, some says after, some says both, and some says you don't need to do it at all. I had it working with Deski docs by filling in the parameters (DocumentInstance.setPrompts()), and then calling refresh(). But that wouldn't work with Webi. What seems to work with Webi is calling refresh() first, then filling in the prompts and calling setPrompts(). Now I'm seeing that work for Deski too. But I can find nowhere that explains definitively what the right way is and I'm a little uncomfortable with the lack of logic here. Does anyone know what the answer is? I tried to mimic your codes with my existing Deski report in CMS and run in my local machine. My purpose is to run deski report, pass parameter, mutiple format and save output report to unmanaged disk (network/local destination).
My connection was successfull using "Connection with userID".
However, it stops and encountered error on this line of code...

Dynamic action with interactive report region refresh

Hi!
I'm using APEX 4.02
I've got a page with 2 regions.
Region1 is a (input) form
Region2 is an interactive report on the same table as region 1
When entering values on the form I'm trying to dynmically lookup similar records in the table with the interactive report.
I've made a dynamic action on the change of the form fields which should refresh the interactive report region. I can see this one fires if I add a alert to debug if it fires.
The dynamic report is based on a query with bind variables pointing to the form fields, for example
where
field1 = :P2_FIELD1
This works great on the page load, so no dynamic action is fired but I can see the rows in the report region are the ones I am looking for.
But the refresh of the report region is not working, it is never refreshing and/or showing the correct data after a change of the form fields, so it looks like the dynamic action "refresh region" is not working on the interactive report.
Any ideas why this can go wrong ?
I would like to solve this using standard dynamic actions and preferrably not via PL/SQL or JS, shoudl be possible if I should believe the documentation... ;)

Hi,
When you change value to item, I assume you do not set value to session state.
Use interactive report advanced attributes "Page Items to Submit" , set items session state before report is refreshed.

RFC error when sending logon data

Hi;
We cannot configure the STMS of our development system. When we try to
configure it, system gives an error message: Errors during distribution
of tp configuration; TMS Alert Viewers tells us
RFC_COMMUNICATION_FAILURE: RFC communications error with

Is there any advise for solution?

You are right. The problem was releated with secstore. I found a SAP note ( Note 1532825 - Deleting SECSTORE entries during system export/system copy). I created the program which ise mentioned in the note and than run it. After that everything seems ok now.

Need to send Automatic mails when the report successful or Fail.

Hello Experts,
Created one report for reconciliation to check BW and R/3 figures.
There are exceptions designed using reporting Agent settings on the same report.
(When the values from R/3 to BW are matching it shows Green color and if the values are not matching report shows red color in the columns.)
There are some mandatory variables for Company code, Period and Currency Type.
Selections for Company code and Period are fixed but We have three currency types (00,10,30)
Reports needs to be executed for three currency types.
Requirement is that
when the report is executed for One currency type (Ex u2013 00)
If the key figure column shows Green color , Immediately mail has to be sent to necessary mail IDs saying the status successful.
If the key figure column shows Red color , Immediately mail has to be sent to necessary mail IDs saying the status Failed.
Like this the same report has to be executed for other two currency types and send the the same status as above phenomenon.
Sending mails can be taken care by BASIS people with SMTP configuration.
I want to know the development needs to be done from BW side.
Are there are any settings in BW to send the message as Successful when the report shows green color and message as failed when red color appears in the report.

Persistent prompt date format changes when reopening report in Webi

Hi all
I have a PERISTENT prompt that asks for a date when you run the report. The format is "MM/dd/yyyy". I also have a variable that displays this value in the form:
=ToDate(UserResponse([Query 1];"Please enter date:");"MM/dd/yyyy")
When the report is run the prompt works and you select the date from the calendar and all works fine. You can refresh the report and keep the persistent date prompt value if you like. Great.
The problem comes when the report is saved and then reopened for modifying.
On my report I get #ERROR associated with the above variable. This is because the peristent value in the prompt has been "re-loaded" in the format "MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss a".
The only way I have found to resolve this is to refresh the report and reselect a date which makes the persistent prompt kind of useless if you close the report.
Any suggestions on solving this would be appreciated.

The problem comes when the report is saved and then reopened for modifying.
When opening the report in something other than modify, does the problem also occur? I too have noticed different behavior with persistent date prompts and whether running in modify or Infoview modes. Most deployments do not give their users the ability to run a public report in modify mode (though, possibly they could copy it to their own Favorites and run it in modify mode there). So perhaps this "problem" is by design and is resolved by running the report in the more common Infoview mode?

Report Viewer refresh event causing window event problems

I have a winform with a report viewer control and a couple of grids. When a cell in one of the grids is edited the report gets refreshed (when focus is lost from the cell) this refresh appears to empty the event stack for the whole window.
For example if I edit the cell then click the ok button the report refreshes and the button click event is lost.
Also if I edit the cell and click on the report viewer then the grid itself stops firing events outside its control.
Can anyone explain this behaviour so I can work around it?

I am handling the celledited event on the grid (janus gridEX control) which fires when the focus is lost from the grid and the user has edited something.
The event code calls viewer.RefreshReport() which successfully updates the report with the new data (via the common dataset both use as a data source).
This is all running in a dialog box.
The problem occurs when the user edits the grid and then immediately clicks the ok button. The call to RefreshReport seems to stop the button click event firing.
The second problem occurs when the user edits the cell then clicks on the report viewer to cause the celledited event to fire and the report to refresh. Everything seems to work fine however if the user tries to edit a cell again the celledited event does not fire anymore unless you click on another row in the grid itself. This behaviour only happens when clicking on the CR viewer when clicking any other control the behaviour is as expected.
Whilst the CR viewer may not directly be the problem something is occuring when it is refreshed and I would like to understand what is happenening to cause the strange behaviour.

SharePoint 2013 SSRS integration Report keep refreshing while display in ipad

I had deploy the ssrs report in SharePoint Integration mode, but report keep refreshing by pop up the loading animation and cannot display the report eventually. It only happens in ipad 2/3 and iphone 4(ios 7), but the report can be display completely
when i view it in iphone 5 or any other lates android device. Is it something to do with the responsive layout? I'm desperate to find a solution to cater the problem since some of my clients insist to use the mobile device to view the report. Much appreciation

What version of the SSRS addin do you have deployed? Have you possibly tried updating it (the current latest update is CU9 for SQL 2012 SP1 - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2931078/en-us; you would want the file named 2012_SP1_RSShrPnt_CU9_2931078_11_0_3412_x64).

Has the report viewer refresh functionality gone away?

When we click the refresh button in the DHTML report viewer nothing happens. We are on BOE XI R 3.1. Has this functionality changed since XI R2?

Email to users when scheduled report are finished

We run BO 6.5 and have a lot of reports in BCA that run on both indicator and time. Sometimes the reports are delayed due to late indicator and therefore we have some users that would like to have an e-mail each time theese reports are finished. Is that possible to set up in either Desktop or BCA?

That is possible. In our situation we send e-mails to users (and even a number of our customers) when a report has been refreshed by the BCA.
What we have done is added a piece of VBA code to each of the documents which need to send an e-mail after refresh. In our situation the VBA saves the report as a pdf or excel file and sends that as an attachment to the recipient. But you could also just send a standard message to the users.
In our situation the VBA (very simplified) looks as follows:
