RFC and PI Scenario

Hi PI Guru,
I want to count number of message, which was send from SAP R/3 to SAP PI and the SAP PI send back the number of message and information like send system name, date which will be save in table in sap R/3 and those information coul be read with webdynpro.
Please suggest me for the same.

Other approach you can try is by calling a ZRFC Lookup(RFC Lookup) in you message mapping. In zrfc program you update the count in a ztable, thus keeping the count of number of messages. This is just a Idea, I have not tried this.

ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration Scenarios with SAP DS for ESA v3

Hi,
we are planning two PoCs of Integration Plattforms. One of our major requirement set is SAP Integration into our existing SOA.
Because we also have R/3 4.7 Systems in production, we are planning to test ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios with these Integration Plattforms.
My question is:
We are looking for are smart solution to get a SAP Test Environment, where we can test ALE/IDOC und RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios.
It is possible to do this with SAP DS for ESA v3 or shall we better use IDES for that purpose?

This is our scenario. We are doing an integration of SAP HR r/3 system with the CRM system. We need housing information details of the employees which we have in custom infotype 9310 in SAP HR system and we need those details in the CRM system. So am planning out for an ALE/IDOC approach for the integration and gonna maintain the 9310 details in a custom table. In the CRM system, we gonna build a BOL layer for accessing the 9310 details. Also i'm preparing a HLD for this process. I wanna read and go through few same HLD's before i submit my proposal to my client. Please suggest me and help me out.

I have CRM (r/3) and DM (r/3)system.
Data from differnent tables of CRM system needs to go to
DM system different tables , data will be saved there and then return response back to CRM system.
For this I have given one RFC for CRM system
For this I have given one RFC for DM system
So I have to make Sync Outbound Interface
and Sync Inbound Interface.
So I think so no BPM is required.I am correct?
Adapter -- RFC Sender and RFC Receiver Adapter.

Hi,
Can you explain some basic steps in the Async and Sync scenarios for sending data from JDBC to RFC.
Like,
The data is picked up from the database table through JDBC adapter.
It is passed on to SAP by calling the RFC. RFC gets executed
successfully. The status is returned by the RFC. The status needs to be
updated back into the SQL database table.
Is this a sync case or async case.
What si the diffrences in the sync and async scenarios in the above JDBC to RFC scenarios.

Data Types -
1) File Input
2) JDBC Req
3) JDBC Response
4) File Response of similar type of JDBC Response.. ( This you can avoid also..let it be for first time)
Message Types
4 for each data type
Message Interfaces
1) Async, Outbound, Interface, to receieve the file
2) Async, Inbound , Interface to send the file from XI
3) Async, Absract , Interface of type File message type to recieve the message in the BPM
4) Sync, Abstract Interface with Req message type as File Request, and Response Message type as a file Response
5) Sync , Inbound interface for JDBC with Input message type as a JDBC Request and Output Message type as a JDBC Response
Message Mapping:
1)Mapping between File Req to the JDBC req
2) JDBC Response to File Response
Interface mapping:
1) Sender Interface as a Sync,Abstract Interface created for the file type and target interface as Synchrnous JDBC interface.
Use corresponding mapping for Req and Resp..

Issue in File to RFC to File Scenario with BPM using Block Step

Hi Everybody,
                       I am doing File to RFC to File Scenario for multiple records using BPM using Block Step. The File Message is getting posted and after that, the message is getting stuck up in the qRFC Monitor (Inbound Queue).
                    After seeing the message in Inbound Queue, I am trying to execute and release the message. But when i execute the LUW, it says " Function module doesnt exist or EXCEPTION raised" in Inbound queue.
Could somebody suggest me the outcome of this? What does this mean and how to
release the stuck up message in Queue.

File to RFC, and through RFC response i am trying to trigger the Mail adapt

Hi All,
Right now i am doing File to RFC, its working fine but now the requirement is when xi connect to ftp and picks the file need to send one success mail after the file pickup and data sent to BW system again i need to send one mail and also error alerts to inbox.
Till now i am not using BPM, can we do this without BPM pls let me know
now i am trying to achieve this in File to RFC, and through RFC response i am trying to trigger the Mail adapter.
or else i need use only BPM pls share the steps which i need to be configure.
Am i correct or pls suggest me some idea to achive this and also pls share some smaple ones in BPM .

RFC destination for RFC to File scenario

Hi,
I m creating a TCP/IP RFC destination in R/3 system for my RFC to File scenario.
Step 1:
For this a Registered server program is created in Jco RFc Destinations with,
Program Id : pgm1
Gateway host : PI's host
Gateway service : PI's service
application server host: ECC's host
system numer     : ECC's number
client : ECC's client
logon user : ECC user
password : pwd
Step 2:
In SM59, TCP/IP connection the following parameters are given:
Program ID : pgm1
Gateway host : PI's host       -
> is this correct
Gateway service : PI's service      -
> is this correct
Step 3:
So i am calling the RFC in ABAP program (R/3 system) like:
CALL FUNCTION 'Z_HR_OUTBOUND_DATA2'
IN BACKGROUND TASK DESTINATION 'Z_HR_OUTBOUND_DATA2'
Step 4:
In PI side,
for RFC sender I am passing :
Application server : PI server
Application server service: PI host
program ID: pgm1 which was created in the previos step
For RFC Metadata Repository Parameter, i am passing all the values related to R/3
Please let me know whether the steps and values i given is correct.
B'cos even if i give ECC's information in Gateway host and Gateway service the scenario works fine and if i PI's info then also it works fine.
so i am confused as which is the correct method. pls clarify

Ok I will try to explain....
Assumptions: R3_TO_XI is the name of RFC which I created in ECC of type T.
While creating the RFC in ECC we mention a unique name which is called Progaram ID. Now the same program id we mention in our sender RFC CC.
So now when an ABAP Progarm (where you will call this RFC with it's destination) is scheduled/triggered with the code as mentioned below then since the DESTINATION ('R3_TO_XI') mentioned here contain the same program id which we have mentioned in our sender CC, invokes the adapter in PI and soon after that all pipeline steps get executed in XI.
CALL FUNCTION 'ZBAPI_COMPANY_GETDETAIL'
IN BACKGROUND TASK
DESTINATION 'R3_TO_XI'
TABLES
    comp_detail = company_detail.
COMMIT WORK.

Sender rfc..async rfc to file scenario

Since im new to XI...Can you please give a overview of the whole scenario which meets the requirements... wrapping 1 rfc in another and then passing the final export parameters to a file using XI..
->i refered to Re: XI : RFC Response Mapping
also to the blogs 1438 and 3865.
but the things r so abstract as to how to triggger the rfcs..
Is it like calling the first rfc frm an abap pgm n calling the second one from first ...the only way?? How to achieve this?
->In what cases do we need this wrapping??
Is there any way as to just pass the export parameters of a single rfc to a file using xi.
->Dont know whr to start the scenario to work out...even the mappings are confusing...

For implementing Sender RFC: (yet to work on this)
1) We cannot use all the BAPI/RFC as is while doing an Async sender RFC.
2) We should use a wrapper around this BAPI/RFC and it should be a custom RFC again.
3) All the data that you need in XI for mapping should be passed through exporting or tables only.
4) Importing parameters should be commented.
5) Call this custom RFC in BACKGROUND TASK with DESTINATION. COMMIT WORK after calling custom RFC.
6) Create RFC destination with Program ID same as the program ID in your communication channel.
7) Import your custom RFC into repository.
8) Use the custom RFC(request not response) as interface in all your agreements and interface mapping,
message mapping.
That should be all the steps. You should get your data in receiver adapter.

When do we configure Sender RFC channel,
Does it mean calling a RFC enabled Function Module in XI from a R/3,
Does it mean executing a Function Module in a R/3 and sending the output to XI,
how do i go about writing a ABAP code for such a situation (pls provide a sample code)
How do i make a message interface in XI for the RFC message coming from the R/3 to my XI
What is the purpose of doing such kind of scenarios

Error Handling on RFC - XI - File Scenario

I have an R/3 RFC -> XI -> FILE scenario that works, but does not adequately handle the error of my R/3 to XI connection being down.
The RFC call is async since I was under the impression that I had to do a "to file" scenario that way.
    CALL FUNCTION 'ZXO_SAP2RFC'
      IN BACKGROUND TASK
      DESTINATION wa-rfc_dest_1
      EXPORTING
        request          = request
        rfc_header       = rfc_header.
    COMMIT WORK AND WAIT.
    IF sy-subrc <> 0.
      [error handling]
If my rfc destination is down (for example when XI is down), this RFC call is still getting a sy-subrc of '0' (so my error handling does not kick in).
Any suggestions?

Hi Keith,
your scenario is working correctly. If XI is down you will find your message queued in transaction SM58, where you can restart it manually. Usually there should be standard job for report RSARFCEX, which is periodicly trieing to restard the message.
Asynchr Call (tRFC) means that your program continues completly undependent from that call.
Make a test: Change temporary the called machine in SM59 destination to senseless value and execute your programm. Your message should be in SM58. Then correct the destination and wait a few minutes...

Czech letters in RFC- XI-JDBC scenario

Hello experts,
we want to transfer data to a database in a RFC->XI->JDBC scenario. Everything works fine, but when we transfer czech characters, we only see "?" in the database where a "Č" is expected. In the XI system the letters are displayed correctly (before and after mapping).
How can we solve this problem? Is there any setting for this in the receiver CC?

try using ![CDATA[]] in your mapping, i mean send value in to the target field as ![CDATA[ Č ]].

RFC-XI-JDBC Scenario: Help with RFC code

I am doing RFC-XI-JDBC Scenario, where I have to poll the contents of my Ztable in SAP to Oracle.
The appraoach i am using here is :
1. Created a FM with import parameters as the fields of my Ztable and without any export parameter or source code.
2. Created a report to call that FM in background. The code of my report is as follows :

Hi,
Instead of calling RFC many times I would:
1) create RFM with only one import parameter
TYPE your_table type
2) call only once RFM in the report:
CALL FUNCTION 'ZRFCNAME'
    IN BACKGROUND TASK
    DESTINATION 'RFCDEST'
    EXPORTING
      pt_table = i_table.
COMMIT WORK AND WAIT.
This will also improve the performance.

RFC TO SOAP SCENARIO

I am facing the Following error for RFC to SOAP Scenario, i Tried
1. Full Cache Refresh
2.Delete and create Sender Agreement Again
3.Specifying the Program id Again
yet the Scenario is not Working, could you please help me in Resolving this at the Earliest
