RFC change reflaction in VC

Hi All
We develop application using Visual composer.
The connection to backend system (R3) is via system which configured in portal.
The problem is that when some change has done in RFC in R3, the changes are not reflected in VC for several hours.

Hi Anja,
I believe you realize that I tried to refresh by right click and I see the message "Fetching service metadata".
But the changes made in the RFC or table data in R3, Do not get to the service (RFC) on VC.
The changes are reflected in VC after several hours.
I also tried to delete the RFC from the iView and look for it in the dictionary data
And pull it renews and I get the message " Fetching service metadata "
Still, the updates do not come in to the RFC on iView.
I hope that the case and the explanation clear enough.

Backend RFC change makes all MBO's stop working

I created an MBO using a SAP RFC.
I had to later change the RFC and remove one field (PRODUCT_GUID) from the return list.
I then deleted and recreated the MBO with the changed RFC signature.
Now, whenever I make an MBO call, I get an error saying the field PRODUCT_GUID was not found.
This happens irrespective of which MBO request is made.
There are no relationships and no other MBO references the PRODUCT_GUID field.
The exact error is worded as follows.

Hi,
You have to remove the filed and key of PRODUCT_GUID from workflow packages. Open your workflow package and view the properties, all the key values would be listed in "KEY" tab. Remove the unwanted key which you have specified in your question. Deploy the workflow package once again, when deploy make sure "Update generated code" be enabled. Before regenerating code, take backup, otherwise all the UI work will go off.

RFC CHANGES NOT REFELECTING IN vc

1. First check after setting the below property in VC:
Goto Visual Composer menu --> Tools --> Options --> Compiler Tab --> Change Data service retrieval to Do not cache data services(get latest).
2. Second try to clear the cache in the Portal
Clear the Portal cache.

3. If still your problem persists, copy the RFC with some other name and activate it. Then call this data service. This is not the proper way. But workaround to your issue.

RFC Change Mode

I have an RFC (zxxx) now i want to change this RFC .. but in the se37 if i click on change it was enetering into inside but still in Display mode only.. if i click on change also i'm not getting any Locks.. but even though it was not possible to change the logic..
please suggest me..

Check if that ZRFC is open in another session. Go to T Code SM12 and delete the lock entry for that ZRFC.

RFC Change

hi,
i have an RFC <b>RFC_CALCULATE_TAXES_DOC</b> which is linked with Taxware,
i found that this RFC is called in the class <b>CL_XTAX_RULES_RFC</b>
now when a sales order is created, it calls this RFC calculates and gives a value.
but since the values are wrong and on debugging we found that there is a TaxPayItem field which is set 'X',
i need to remove this 'X' and make it blank.
how could i do this in an RFC, is it that i need to write a wrapper function.
if so, please also tell me what this wrapper function is and how would i use it in my case where i just want to make my TaxPayment field as blank.
Or is there other option to resolve the issue ?

Changes in RFC not reflecting in WebService

Hi everyone,
I´ve made a simple WebService using SAP-PI, that is sync. It received a request, uses a RFC to check data in SAP and then gives the response. It's working just fine.
Now, the RFC has change - some business rule - and for some reason, it's not reflecting on my WebService. (I can see that because the response should have 3 itens but I have 4).
I mean: if I run the RFC in the SAP R3, it returns one thing (3 itens), if I run my WebService, that calls this RFC, it's returning 'the same old data' (4 itens).
I think I should not change anything in my SAP-PI since the input and output are the SAME. Only the RFC ABAP rule changed.
What should I do?
I did all sort of 'cache cleanig' already.
I did re-import the RFC already.
I did re-generate the WSDL already.
Nothing... still not able to see the change in the RFC business rule.
What should I do?

Should i Map thecommon RFC Model to component contrl or custom controller?

In my webDynpro project , I have two modules one is DirectCustomer and InDirectCustomer. so i have set of RFS's in a single RFC model. In this RFS's some are common to both the modules. some are independent to each other. so i have created two controller component one for each module.Then i mapped the independent RFC'c to each controller seperately. But now the RFC's which are common to both modules to map, Better, should i map to existing Componentcontroller or should i create new customcontroller (like commoncontroller).
which i option is better, can u suggest me. I feel that, The common RFC's will be mapped to component controller, bcz it the Base controller for the both customcontroller , indrectly to the viewcontroller.
Can any body give me the suggestion on this

Hi Vishal,
As far as I know it's recommended to use a custom controller for every RFC. This makes sense because if the RFC changes some day you only have to do changes in the specific custom controller.

RFC information Tables

Hi All,
I am sending data through an RFC ( changed records in material master ). This RFC is called from XI sytem. When it is called, RFC should fetch the data from the last date the RFC was executed. How should i get this date, is there any table which stores the date when it was executed. Please help me.

Two doubts:
- Does your RFC work when you call it directly from the SE37 puting the same input parameters used by Java application?
- Was the RFC changed after the coding of Java application? If so, the interface between Java and RFC must be regenerated.

Random model exception in WD application

Hi,
I am using NWDS CE 7.1 Ehp1.
I have 3 web dynpro DCs in which I have imported a ARFC2 model for same RFC.
This application was working fine in all three landscapes dev, test and prod.
There was a change in table type parameter in this RFC which is working fine when tested from SAP.
I re-imported this model in 2 out of 3, WD DCs and transported in dev, test and prod.
Since then I am facing following issue: -
Application works fine sometimes and sometimes it gives following exception:-

I did some preliminary investigations: -
1.     I initially thought about a transport problem on one of the AS but prod server has only one single AS.
2.     The RFC has been tested in SAP R3 in all application servers and is working fine.
3.     JCO connections from WD to SAP are up and running fine.
Any idea what is going wrong here?
I also tried to reimport model for two erroneous DCs and created a activity each and transported to Prod.
but still same strange behavior!

Thanks for reply, but I have already re-imported the model and transported it.
Still I get this exception.
First time when I re imported the model after RFC change, it showed some deltas in re import.
I transported this activity to prod and I started getting this exception randomly.
Sometimes the application works fine but sometimes it runs into above mentioned exception.
So I re imported the model (this time it didnt show any deltas) and transported that activity to prod.
but still no success!

Error: Metadata of component EquipmentShipment is not valid!

Hello all,
I have created one webdynpro DC -A which has two DCs as used DC- B & C.
Now everything builds & runs fine on local server. but when I activate DC "A" gives build errors, as it does not get reference for DC -B.
Here is the error:
"Error: Metadata of component EquipmentShipment is not valid! "Role "UsedComponent": A minimum of 1 object(s) is required!" "
This error is only for "B" not "C"
I tried rebuild, resync, recreate the dependency through public part but no use.
Could you please help me with this issue?

Hi Sarika,
Generally these type of errors occur due to broken DCs. Check DC build for 'B'. You may find more accurate information in the build report. I too faced similar issue once then the problem was some of the RFC changes were not imported. Check whether it is also same case for you.
If it is a wd-gen error, try to remove wdgen and gen folders for DC-B and build & try.

How to Refresh cache of Service Call

Normally I use java WD, but am helping out a friend who uses ABAP flavour.
In the java WD, if the RFC changes, I just re-import the model so that the changes are made available to me in the Dev Studio. How do I do the equivalent in ABAP WD? ie How do I refresh/re-import the Service Call?

Hi Anton,
In WD ABAP, if we want to reimport the service call, we need to follow the same steps which we follow to create a service call.
One thing to notice is that wizard does not allow to give the same method name which we gave/system proposed during the last time service call creation. Hence in the second time when we reimport the service call provide all details and new method name. A new method will be created in Controller (if we use existing controller). During adapting the nodes new nodes/attributes will be created.
Hence the best approach is to before reimporting the service call is to delete the context, attributes and the method created during the previous service call creation.

Can you advise if which application are you refering to ? This can't be configured via admin console and it needs to be done through the SAP RFC change and xml change. For this kind of custom requirements, i would suggest that you better contact Nakisa Professional services for this. It will be a product change and feasibility for this change needs to be analyzed properly before going for this requirement. Have you done any other customization in the Analytics ?

No, you don't need to install the system prior the copy... SAPINST will install the system as part of the process. (Presuming you are doing a Homo/Heterogeneous system copy)

There is requirement to update the single field (TYPBZ) in the equipment master using program. I can do this task using FM either EQUIPMENT_UPDATE or ITOB_EQUIPMENT_MODIFY_SINGLE.
I wanted to know which FM I should use. I am getting correct result from both FMs. Please let me know.
If somebody has any other suggestion then please let me know.
