RFC Connection IPC Data Loader R/3 failed
I want to setup a Internet Sales (R/3 Edition) scenario.
In documentation "Installation Guide SAP IPC 4.0 Server (Version 2.17)" 6.3.2 Defining RFC Destination the test of the connection doesn't work (Service Data Loader is running). The following error occure:
"program IPCDL not registered / CPI-C error CM_ALLOCATE_FAILURE_RETRY"
IPC 4.0 was installed as standalone. No Web Application were deployed and no other components like SAP J2EE Engine or SAP JCO were installed on the server.
Kind Regards,
Mischa
Hello Mischa,
did you add the R/3 database in the IPC administrator (see page 77)?
Regards,
Frédéric
Sorry,
I just saw the comment on page 81 :
"b. Select the RFC destination you defined in your R/3 System. If the RFC destination
you want to use doesnt appear in the box, define it (see Defining RFC Destination in
R/3, p.65)"
Nothing to do with the IPC administrator.
Did you already check on oss with your R/3 - IPC versions?

Frédéric

Hi,
Currently we are upgrading the SAP R/3 from 4.6 to 6.3 (unicode).
I would like to know the implications of SAP upgrade 6.3 on IPC 4.0 component.
Is there any document related to IPC 4.0 data loader? How IPC data loder works? what information will be fethed from SAP in the IPC data loader?
Regards,
RakeshHello Mischa,
did you add the R/3 database in the IPC administrator (see page 77)?

After recent patch upgrade, BW delta Data loads for 2LIS_02_ITM failing
Hi All
We have patched our BW 3.5 system from 16 to 25. After updating patches, I am geetting delta load issues.
2lis_02_itm and 2lis_02_scl delta loads are taking long long time. Deltas are failing even for 3000 records . some time it is taking 14 hours . Delta loads are failing and I am getting below message. Please advise.
I am still getting below dump and i could not find any errors in
ST22. Please see below error.
Processing in Warehouse timed out; processing steps mising
Diagnosis
Processing the request in the BW system is taking a long time and the
processing step Update rules has still not been executed.
System response
<DS:DE.RSCALLER>Caller is still missing.
Procedure
Check in the process overview in the BW system whether processes are
running in the BW system under the background user.
If this is not the case, check the short dump overview in the BW system.
Thanks
PramodHello Pramod,
Is this load is to load to initial level ODS? If Yes I understand that you have issue in loading but not at activation of the ODS?
Normally this kind of issue comes during the activation of ODS.
1. If you are getting this during the data loads, then try to check loading only to PSA first and then from PSA to target? And check how much time that it's taking as this will help to track the issue whether its present in Source or in BW?
2. If the load is fine till PSA then try loading the same to ODS and then check whether this issue is present or not?
3. At the same you need to check the source side the system load and the number of processors which are available?
4. Did you perform the delta queue draining before the stack upgrade in R/3 or not? Normally as a pre-requisite this needs to be done if not then you will have issues in extracting the data!
5. Finally this can be avoided by having Initwithout data transfer and then performing the Delta loads. BUt for this need to first extract all the data from Source to BW and then take a down time in R/3 for few min and perform this activity so that the Init Timstamp will be reset properly and the Delta should work fine for you.
Do get back to us with more details.
Thanks

Step by step guide to create a RFC connection and data transfer
hi
could i get a step by step guide to transfer/read data from SAP and legacy system using the concept of RFC.
Regards
Shivahi
Here are the steps.
SM59 Transaction is used for Connection Establishment with Destination.
When you establish a connection to a client through a destination, the HTTP connection must first be entered in transaction SM59.
There are two types of HTTP connection in transaction SM59: Call transaction SM59 to display the different RFC destinations.
The HTTP connection to the external server (connection type G) and the HTTP connection to the R/3 system (connection type H) are different only in their logon procedures. Their technical settings are the same. To display the technical settings, double-click a connection.
You can choose from three tabs. Under Technical Settings, you can specify the following:
· Target Host: The host to which you want to connect.
Note that if you are using HTTPS as a protocol, you have to specify the full host name (with domain).
· Service No.: Here, you specify the port. The destination host must of course be configured in such a way that the specified port understands the corresponding protocol (HTTP or HTTPS). See Parameterizing the ICM and the ICM Server Cache.
· Path Prefix: At the time when the connection to this destination is initiated, the system inserts this sub-path before ~request_uri.
· HTTP Proxy Options: Here, you can configure a proxy for HTTP connections: You can determine the proxy host and service, as well as users and passwords for the HTTP connection.
The tab page Logon/Security will be different depending on whether you have selected a HTTP connection to an external server (connection type G) or a HTTP connection to an R/3 system (connection type H).
HTTP Connection to an External Server (Connection Type G)
Choose the connection you want to use. You can choose from the following logon procedures:
· No Logon: The server program does not request a user or password.
· Basic Authentication: The server program requests a user and password. Basic Authentication is a standard HTTP method for authenticating users. When a user logs on to the target system, he or she provides a user ID and password as authentication. This information is then sent in a header variable as a Base 64-encoded string to the server, through the HTTP connection.
· SSL Client Certificate: If you use client certificates for authentication, the client authentication is performed through the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. In this case, you must also select the SSL Client PSE of the SAP Web AS that contains the relevant certificate for the authentication. The target system must handle the issuer of the SAP Web AS client certificate as a trusted system.
Under Logon/Security, you can also activate SSL to ensure that HTTPS is the protocol used (if you select SSL, make sure that the correct port is entered under Technical Settings). In the security transaction STRUST you can determine which type of SSL client is used. (Getting Started with the Trust Manager, Trust Manager).
The field Authorization for Destination has been implemented as an additional level of protection. We recommend that you specify a user and password for the RFC destination.
HTTP Connection to an R/3 System (Connection Type H)
Here, you can specify more settings for authentication in the target system.
The settings under Technical Settings and Special Options are the same as for connection type G. Under Logon/Security, the connection type H has additional logon procedures. As with external servers, you can activate and deactivate SSL and specify an authorization.
Because the target system is an SAP system, you can set the client and language for the logon as well as the user name and password. If you check Current User, you have to specify the password.
The following authentication procedures are available: Basic Authentication, SAP Standard, and SAP Trusted System, and SSL Client Certificate.
· HTTP Basic Authentication: Logon with user and password
· SAP Standard: This procedure uses an RFC logon procedure. The RFC Single Sign-On (SSO) procedure is valid within the one system. The same SAP user (client, language, and user name) is used for logon.
· SAP Trusted System: Trusted RFC logon to a different SAP system (see Trusted System: Maintaining Trust Relationships Between SAP Systems)).
· SSL Client Certificate: The SSL protocol enables you to use client certificates for the logon.
Type G/H (SM59)
Timeout:
When sending a HTTP request, you can use this parameter to specify the maximum response time for the connection.
HTTP Setting:
You can use the HTTP version to specify the protocol version of the HTTP request (HTTP 1.0 or 1.1).
Compression:
You can use this option to activate the gzip compression for the request body. This can only be activated in HTTP Version 1.1.
Compressed Response:
In the standard setting, the SAP Web Application Server sends the Accept Encoding field as a header field with the value gzip, if the application server can handle this compression. This notifies the partner that the caller can handle gzip decompression, and that the partner can send compressed data. If you want to prevent a compressed response being sent, choose the option No.
HTTP Cookie:
You can use this option to control the way received cookies are handled.
You can specify the following for cookies:
· Accept them automatically
· Reject them automatically
· Accept or reject them in a prompt
· Use a handler for the event IF_HTTP_CLIENT~EVENTKIND_HANDLE_COOKIE to process the cookies in the program.
· In the next section, you can read about the parallelization of requests.

We have data services set up in linux machine. I am trying to set up RFC connection between data services and SAP ECC.
From data management console after creating RFC connection i am getting "RFC_bad_connection" error message. Username , password, system number, hostname and client is working from SAP GUI and has all the authorizations. SAP gateway and service is name is correct.
Did anyone had similar issue and what was the solution. Do we have start the RFC connection from linux data services machine, i didn't see any sh executable to do so.
Thanks in advance for helping to solve the RFC connection issue.

Data load fails from DB table - No SID found for value 'MT ' of characteris
Hi,
I am loading data into BI from an external system (oracle Database).
This system has different Units like BG, ROL, MT (for Meter). While these units are not maintaned in R3/BW. They are respectively BAG, ROLL, M.
Now User wants a "z table" to be maintained in BW, which has "Mapping between external system Units and BW units".
So that data load does not fail. Source system will have its trivial Units, but at the time of loading, BW Units are loaded.
For example -
Input Unit (BG) -
> Loaded Unit in BW (BAG)
Regards,
Saurabh T.Hello,
The table T006 (BW Side) will have all the UOM, only thing is to make sure that all the Source System UOM are maintained in it. It also have fields for Source Units and target units as you have mentioned BG from Source will become BAG. See the fields MSEHI, ISOCODE in T006 table
If you want to convert to other units then you need to implement Unit Conversion.

And i it gave the procedure as
if this message appears during a data load, maintain the attribute in the PSA maintenance screens. if this message appears in the master data maintenance screens, leave the transaction and call it again. this allows you to maintain your master data.

Data load getting failed due to DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR error
Hi
while loading the data from one cube to another cube data loading is getting failed by giving the below dump
Runtime Errors DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR
Except. CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below. |
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was not caught
in
procedure "WRITE_ICFACT" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
The database system recognized that your last operation on the database
would have led to a deadlock.
Therefore, your transaction was rolled back
to avoid this.
ORACLE always terminates any transaction that would result in deadlock.
The other transactions involved in this potential deadlock
| are not affected by the termination.
Please help us in solving above problemHi Kiran,
Check the below given thread,
[DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR" with exception CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DBC;

Data load error in 0EC_PCA_1
Dear all,
In the data source 0EC_PCA_1 during delta load, on one day the load has failed in the PSA due to TRFC connection problem. Subsequently loading on all other days had taken place. The load had failed on 17.04.2008 - subsequent load had been updated to the cube.
Now when data reconciliation is done, there seems to be mismatch in the data. Can anyone clear my following doubts.
1) if data (delta) is failed on a particular day, the subsequent correct loads will fetch the failed data also or not.
If the data (failed) will not be fetched during the subsequent loads then how to load that particular delta alone to the cube.
Kindly provide steps and also the pricipal involved in the delta load mechanism.
Experts help expected.
Regards,
M.MDear Mr. Simon,
Thank you on the onset for the prompt reply and sorry for the late response. The principle in which the 0EC_PCA_1 data source works had been explained by you. In case of data load failures you had suggested to do repair load in the ODS.
My problem is that the load has failed in the PSA. Is it the cause of the missing data. i.e., if data load (delta) has failed on a particular day the subsequent day's correct load will not capture the left over delta that has failed - this is where i am bit confused on the genral priciple of the delta load mechanism.
Can you kindly suggest methods with steps to do reload in case the data load to the PSA will not capture the left over failed delta?
Your inputs and updation will be very helpful. Kindly also try to explain the delta mechanism.
Regards,
M.M -

Connection between data services and BWA
Hi,
I want to make a connection between Data Services 3.2 and BWA. Since we use RFC connection in between in order to have them talk with eachother but i wonder if there is any documentation that describes the RFC connection and configuration required particularly in this scenario. I have gone through the documentation that explains RFC connection between Data Services and BW and what configuration we have to do, so i wonder if there are any functions we have to export to BWA from Data Services like we do in case of BW connection to Data Services or some specific configuration we have to do. If someone help who has done connection between Data Services and BWA can help or if somebody can provide documentaton on it.Hi,
You should ask this question over here: http://scn.sap.com/community/data-services

BW Data Load error due to special char's
Hi Experts,
Our BW System is a Uni Code, Master data load din BW failed due to special chars, I corrected the field manually in PSA and loaded the
data.
But I would like to know the reason for failure.
Issue for failure is term SOCIÉTÉGÉN…..My understanding its French and BW should accept it…why is it failing?
Thanks in advanceHi User,
The alphabet ' É ' which you have mentioned is a special Character.
To avoid this failure in future , Please add " É" this alphabet in RSKC t-code which would help to avoid
special characters.
Please revert in case you need any further details.
Thanks & Regards,

Error is Master Data load.
Hi Experts,
From last 1 month the ( 0MAT_UNIT ) master data load is getting failed. Its a full load. So the the target is not updated from last one month( August)
Now the problem is , when I am checking a report. The materials which are new or changed are not getting the data properly. It is because of the master data got stucked at PSA level. And I cant rectify at PSA level because, There is 673 errorneous record in 1 package.
I tried to find the invalid character , but didn't get anything.
Please suggest.
Thanks,
TapuKumarHi Anand,
This is the long text msg
Data records in the PSA were marked for data package 1 . Here there were
673 errors. The system wrote information or warnings for the remaining
data records.
System response
The data package was not updated.
Procedure
Correct the incorrect data records of the data package (for example by
manually editing them in the PSA maintenance). You can find the error
message for each of the records in the PSA by double-clicking on the
status of the record.
Note
Note that you are only allowed to edit and manually update the request
if it is contained in the request list in the data target. Where
necessary, first delete it from the data target.
And it is a master data load( Full ), The data target is a INFO OBJECT.
Please suggest, I can't rectify each and every reecord. Because the number of record id very high..
Thanks,
Tapu Kumar.

I think you have added wrong port entry in services file.
The entry of sap servers in services file for load balancing are
sapms<SID> 36<instance number>/tcp
so please check once again and add the entry using above formula in services file.
Also add the entry of all SAP servers in your hosts file.
