RFC Connection Timeout

Hi Experts,
I have an RFC in XI System. I want to call this RFC from Solution Manager.
I want to set the time out parameters to this RFC. Can any one let me know what all are the parameters I need to consider for this?

Hello,
If it's happening only for 2 interfaces,then may be you need to verify how these 2 rfcs are called from external system,May be the functionality which is calling these RFCs are waiting for some processing (possible reason for time-out)...before making actual calls.
or see if they are called in batch jobs from external system & that job has some issues?
If you are sure of everything fine in SAP,then possible issues can be with external system.

Dear Sir,
We have two systems of ITS, one with ITS 620/patch 16 connected to ECC 5.0 and second, with ITS 620/patch 4 connected with 4.7.
The one with patch 16 is perfectly working while the one with patch 4 have following problem.
1. ~event=logoff doesn't close the RFC session to R/3.
2. After the timeout period i.e set in ~timeout and ~usertimeout parameters set in global services, the RFC connection doesn't get closed.
Can this be a patch level problem?? or do the following R/3 parameters with 0 value have impact??
a. em/stat_log_timeout
b. gw/deallocate_timeout
c. gw/reg_keepalive
d. gw/timeout

We are facing the same problem. but we are not using ITS, we are using
WAS 6.20 on CRM4.0
Problem is: Open RFC connections build in the system, are not closed after the user sessions are closed / terminated
Can anyone help us to solve this problem.

mostly your gateway servicve is not working check smgw tcode on that instance
you can do this goto sm59->select the instace execute tcode smgw
easy way is restart the instance
it will start working

RFC-connection error: DETAIL: no connect of TP sapdb02 from host u0085 after 20

Hello!
I face with problem to set up successfully a RFC-connection from SOLMAN to the satellite system.
The network connection here is VPN.
The following error appears, when I execute the connetion test:
Error: Timeout during allocate
LOCATION: SAP-Gateway on host /sapgw03
DETAIL: no connect of TP sapdb02 from host after 20 sec.
COMPONENT: SAP-Gateway
Has some one any ideas how to solve this problem?

IDES Installation error (RFC connection error)

Would someone help me?
I have a problem while installing the IDES ,ECC 6.0 with MaxDB. (Linux)
The installaiton of CI is holding in the phase " Checking the DDIC password " and it seems a loop.
Looking through sapinst.log , there is some messages.
These messages are showing as a loop.

The window says "waiting for response" and the logon is over with a error,timeout.

Hi,
1. Check dailog work processes through OS level
2. Check all profile parameters through OS level and change it according.
3. Then try for sap logon with 000 client and password.
After login into sap, check RFC connection within the system. using by tcode sm59.
4. Finally you can check also MaxDB services at OS level.

Unable to open RFC connection - Err message

I all
I am trying to install SAP ERP 2004 SR1 on Microsoft Windows Server 2003, SQL Server 2000. I have successfully installed the Central Instance but when I try to install the Database instance after the database loading the following error is given:
FRF00007 - Unable to open RFC connection.
I have also tried to start the sap system. The message_server and igswd processed run ok, but the disp+work process is stopped.
I am also sending you the developer trace for this process.

We experienced this error while trying to carry out transport into the Production Server- RFC error:timeout during allocate/CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPCMRCV'#.
I have checked connection tests,RFC, they look fine.
Anyone experienced this before?

EBP/CCM XI Catalog scenario; TCP RFC connection EBP to XI doesn't work

Hello All,
i have configured EBP/CCM <> XI Catalog scenario and when i try to execute the test connection for both TCP RFC connections "INTEGRATION_SERVER_<SID>, PLAIN_HTTP_ADAPTER_<SID>" I receive following "ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED".
Does anybody know the problem? How can I solve this issue?

i am facing a problem while trying to send lots of messages from R3 to XI via RFC Sender Adapter:

anf if i go to the work process log in sm50 (still in R3):

When the customer executes the interfaces, they get following 30% with this error (up to 3000 messages in 2,5 hours)
Could you please help in sorting this issue out?

it was a matter of the gateway, we needed to set the gw reg program parameter to a higher value!

The error is: the import queue cannot be read.

First, could you please do the following check:
1) Call SM59, check RFC destinations: AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER and
 AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER, what is the Program ID under Registered
 Server Program section?
2) Call J2EE visual admin, choose cluster -> server -> JCO RFC provider
 there should be AI_RUNTIME_<SID> and AI_DIRECTORY_<SID> under
 available RFC destination tab. Please make sure their names are the
 same as the program ID registered in AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER and
 AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER respectively.
3) Also make sure the gateway host and service are the same in both
 RFC configurations.
Can you perform an R/3 trace for this issue aswell - to trace the
RFC connection issue? It maybe that there is an error like
"timeout during allocate of registered program" which is likely with
this type of message in SXMB_MONI. (SAP Note No. 84850)
1) set gw/reg_timeout to a higher value
2) check/change current Queue and Mapping Configuration/Setup
 the parallel number of XI outbound queues (XBTO* queues) is
 set in XI configuration (SXMB_ADM); setting EO_OUTBOUND_PARALLEL
 to e.g. 20 allows 20 messages to be mapped in parallel;
 this queue number multiplies by the number of different
 configured receivers
 #receivers * EO_OUTBOUND_PARALLEL should correspond to the number
 of parallel configured mapping threads (J2EE Visual Admin,
 service JCo Rfc Provider, Destination AI_RUNTIME_*, #processes)
 if ( #used-outbound-queues > #jco-mapping-threads ) then this
 can cause the above seen timeout error
 => consequence check/change parameter EO_OUTBOUND_PARALLEL or
 JCo mapping threads (processes)
Finally, if you are perhaps running on AIX, then check note 716927
Otherwise tell which OS do you run on

You can't use SAPHTTP for the destination. This RFC destination uses the SAPGUI to make the HTTP call. Either use SAPHTTPA (the A stands for Application Server) or better yet use the newer CL_HTTP_CLIENT class. The class uses the ICM instead of a standalone executable to make HTTP calls.

Screen Painter and RFC connection issue

Hello,
I get the following error when I try to start screen painter:
EU_SCRP_WN32 : timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPCMRCV'
I have installed all sapgui components and when I test the rfc connection it
starts the program but then sends the same error.
I think it's got something to do with the fact that I'm trying to start this
program through a saprouter because when I start it locally (within my LAN)
the program starts without problems.
I have already applied latest kernel patch.
Could you suggest what could I do to complete my RFC connection? Should I
put something under gateway host or gateway service?

The issue here is that I don't know how to establish de gateway option
considering I'm using saprouter to connect to sap system.
Well... If you are asking how to "enable" gateway option then...
You go to SM59 > Open EU_SCRP_WN32 > Go to "Technical Setting" tab
Click on change option.
Put the Gateway host IP address or Host name (SAP Server) > Save
Check the connection by "Connection Test" option.
If any error... pls post here.

Establishment of the RFC-connection

I am about to set up the RFC connection to SAP system from SAP Solution Manager.
The following connection between the systems/server was configured:
my server --> SAP Router 1 --> SAP Router 2 --> SAP System
How should the RFC-connection look like?
The errors I getting are:
