RFC connections between Iseries (SRM) and Windows 2003 TREX

I have installed SRM4.0, server5.0 on our iseries and TREX6.1 on a windows 2003 server. I am having issues with the RFC connection from SRM to TREX. I have looked at and modified the TREXRFCSERVER.ini, TREXDaemon and topology files but it still says it can not connect to the gateway. Any suggestions on where to look? I have looked at trace files on the TREX directory but they mostly say it cannot connect without telling me where to go.

Hi Yann.
I read the note but we are on SP09 not SP02. Also, from my view, it appears that the note is assuming that the TREX installation and the SAP installtion are on the same server. This is not our case. The SRM, LAC, CCM, SUS and XI components are installed on our AS400 while the TREX and IPC are installed on a windows server. If I use the TREX hostname for the connection, I would think it would only stay on that server and not try to access the SRM (as400) server.
I will make the changes and see.

Dear All,
I am working for a multi-national company and now we are thinking to implement SAP SRM but I have some questions about communication between SAP MM and SRM. Firstly I want so share with you our as-is status and then my doubts and question that I have.
In our case we have two different locationed organizations which are using different version of SAP system and SAP MM. In this two sap system mostly codes are and descriptions are different for all materials and now we want gather all data and we want to have one global code system and (local code also will remain). I mean we want to call same materials with one global unique code instead of two different codes. We are thinking to implement something like coding center that will take local master data from local organization then will assign global code, update table then with somehow will update SAP SRM.
For example:
We have local master data on R/3 is maintained manually by local user and net item is created locally each country by local user.Coding center will be aware of new creation by mail, automatically. Coding center will update table (adding a new row for each new item) on translator (tool for assigning global code for materials) assign to each new item a global code and category and in this way SRM will be updated automatically based on translator.
I am thinking to develeop a tool (excel,access etc.) that will take new item creation manually or auto from local organization then will assign a global code and category then will update SAP SRM automatically
Regarding to tool I have some questions:
1)     which are the standard communication channel between R/3 and SRM or How they can speak with each other ?
2)     Is there any standart batch file (BI or BAPI) to be able to perform this.Is it possible to develop tool using excel or access etc. which will manage coding task.
3)     When we are trasferring for the first time Master Data from MM to SRM is there any standard transaction?
4)     how the two MD are aligned (i.e. what if a new item is created or modified on MM)?
5)     standard program (transaction) for aligning available ?
6)     ) how this process can be triggered (scheduled using SAP scheduler, event or user driven)
7)     Where the translator (tool) should be (R/3 local, SRM, BW, other) --> Enrichment table
8)     How we can build the communication transaction?

Hi,
Have you considered using CCM. You generally use an industry standard code (perhaps UNSPSC) in CCM as your vendors would all have different number (similar to your scenario). CCM is a plug-in to SRM, supplied by SAP.
The authoring tool is where you can enrich your catalogue, and have approval dependant on rules that you setup. In your case you would possibly have a catalogue per locationed organisation (or R/3 system). These would then be mapped to a master catalogue, and assigned to users as views. This tool is a BSP on SRM. You could also upload these catalogues from Excel (as a CSV) or through XI as XML. We use the automatic transfer of materials from R3 and then there is a report in SRM to feed that through to the catalogue.
The only thing that needs to be thought through is how you feed the selected catalogue item back to the differing R3 systems, but this shouldn't be a stumbling point.

Slow connection between outlook 2010 and Windows 2012 R2 DC

I'm having issue that affects all site users, our setup is:
1 x Exchange 2007
2 x Domain contollers, on 2008 R2 and one 2012 R2
Outlook 2010;
We have been experiencing issue's with users when they have a connection to the 2012 DC via outlook, were when they send an email it takes approx. 20 seconds for the email to be sent to the outbox. What will happen is an 'hour-glass' will appear and a bubble
appears from the outlook icon in the system tray stating that outlook is trying to establish a connection to the 2012 DC.
The users that are connected to the 2008 DC do not have this issue and the same email gets sent straight away.
We have now put in an exclusion on exchange to prevent outlook clients from connecting to the 2012 server, which has temporary resolved this issue.
as soon as we lift the exclusion the issue reappears.
I've performed PerfMon and NetMon captures of both DC's while this issue occurs but without obvious conclusion.
Has anyone come across this or able to provide with some suggestions.

Did you refer to Milos's suggestion and use the network monitor? Any update?
Would you please let me know whether install any third-party application (such as: some security applications) on the server 2012 r2? In addition, please type outlook.exe /safe in RUN to start Outlook in Safe Mode, then check if this issue still exists.
This will help us to confirm if the issue is caused by Outlook add-ins.

Connectivity between OVM linux and windows

I want to access the EBS running on the OVM from my windows but iam unable to .
I can ping to the OVM linux box but i cant reach it on port 8000.

iam using OVM linux 6.4. and I can telnet to port 22 from my windows box to ovm , so why not to port 8000?

Connection between data services and BWA

Hi,
I want to make a connection between Data Services 3.2 and BWA. Since we use RFC connection in between in order to have them talk with eachother but i wonder if there is any documentation that describes the RFC connection and configuration required particularly in this scenario. I have gone through the documentation that explains RFC connection between Data Services and BW and what configuration we have to do, so i wonder if there are any functions we have to export to BWA from Data Services like we do in case of BW connection to Data Services or some specific configuration we have to do. If someone help who has done connection between Data Services and BWA can help or if somebody can provide documentaton on it.

to configure acceptance of the ABAP (integrated ITS / WebGUI) saplogonticket on the java stack, just log into the java stack (http://FQDN:50xxx/nwa) and select configuration THe last item in the list is Trusted System... click.
on the ensuing page, click on the add trusted system button --> by querying trusted sytem.
Enter the required data on the page:
system type: ABAP
host name: FQDN
System Nr: your instance number
client (of the productive client)
and a username and pw with superuser priveliges in the system (SAP_ALL/SAP_NEW, etc).
the click next
On the final screen, click finish.
You have now SSO setup between the ABAP and Java stacks. To configure SSO to accept java saplogontickets on ABAP see:

RFC CONNECTION BETWEEN DS AND BW

Hi Experts,
I'm facing an issue Loading a BW Cube from Data Services because the RFC connection is lost frequently and to restore it we have to reboot the Data Services server in order to execute the loading job. We've already installed the fix pack 12.2.3 to DS but now we're are watching that strange behaviour.
Then when the data is loaded to the PSA its taking so much time to load this data to the CUBE, for 6 millions records it takes more than 24 hours, its really insane!
Do you know what could be wrong in our deployment????

RFC connection problem during SRM - R/3 integration

Hi,
Our environment is SRM 5.5 server with 2 R/3 backend systems. One of the R/3 systems is in another country. We happen to have RFC problems during the communication between the SRM and R/3 server.

Icloud sync only works between mac pro and windows outlook, not with iphone and ipad anymore

Can anyone help me with my problem?
I do have icloud installed on my MacBookPro, on my Windows Outlook computer, on my iPad 2 and on the iPhone 4S.
Now until yesterday everything synchronized perfectly well.
Then I created some groups on my MacBookPro address book and since then (I believe that was when it started) icloud no longer synchs from and to the ipad and the iphone. It still works between the Mac and Windows Outlook.
On the iPad/iPhone I have tried everything but it still won't do. I have even reset the whole iPad and obviously lost all data and tried again. I all sometimes get is a few contacts back into the address book on the ipad. But only a limited number, not all.
Also, to delete the icloud account on the ipad/iphone is sometimes not possible. It just hangs and I can see the message "Deleting..." for ever.
Anyone an idea?

One more comment. Wired connection seem to be stable neither. I have ping running to the Windows computer and after a couple of minutes, it gets broken.
However if I have both WiFi and cable connection to the home router and disconnect from cable (after ping is broken), I get the network to the Windows comptuer back. Nothing serious on the network change, I just get 192.168.1.x instead of 192.168.1.y as IP).
During this network switch I do nothing with the Windows computer.
This is not valid if I want to connect to the Windows computer via Microsoft sharing (smb://192.168.1.x), then it immediately breaks the connection. Can't get it back until Windows is restarted.

How do i set a peer to peer network between my iMac and windows machines?

I want to set up a peer to peer network between my iMac and Windows based computers in my house. I also want it to a wireless set up. Mostly being done to share videos, pictures, and music. Any insight would be appreciated.

Can't establish wireless connection between the printer and computer.

I recently upgraded my wireless to an Apple AirPort Time Capsule. I'm able to set up the printer via USB cable. And I'm able to set up the printer on the network via the Airport WPA utility. However I cannot establish a wireless connection between the computer and the printer. When I go to the printers window in my system prefereces, there is no wireless printer available to add in the "available printers" menu. Only the USB version printer is listed and of course when I disconnect the USB cable it shows as offline.I've tried all the fixes on HP's support pages. I've tried reinstalling the printer on both the router and the computer numerous times. The only thing I haven't done is reinstall the printer using the "Install Wizard" software that is supposed to come with the printer - (mine never came with it in the first place and of course HP doesn't have it available for download). And when I reset the printer to factory settings, then connect it to the computer via the USB, there is no installation software that pops up. Cant even find the **bleep** thing in "Finder". (I'm assuming that it should show up as some sort of external device.) I've checked to make sure both computer and printer are on the same network. (sometimes my computer will grab a connection with the next nearest network.) I've checked all the settings for the printer via the HTML configuration utility. I've even updated my Macbook software and restarted it multiple times. Note: the printer actually worked for a bit when I first switched routers, but the printer's wireless function went offline several times and then quit altogether. Really frustrated that I bought another HP product thinking this time things would be different. HP is no help unless you want to pay $$ for a phone call. I'm about ready to take this thing out in the desert to use for target practice and never buy another HP product ever again.

When I go to the printers window in my system preferences, there is no wireless printer available to add in the "available printers" menu.This could be an issue with your print system, I recommend resetting the printing system and then Repair Disk Permissions - after that try to add the printer again.

Not seeing the printer in "Finder" From what I understand most printers will not show in Finder unless you install a memory card into a supported port on certain printer models, only then will it read it like an external device. The problem is:
We have a new BW system. The basis people asked me to check the connection between this BW system and the R/3. There is only one client for now(100). I have logged into 100 and tried executing RSA1 to check the connection, but it gave a message box saying "You can only work in Client 000". Then I have treid logging into 000(just to make sure) and tried executing RSA1. Even here I got a message saying "The SAP BW system must not be operated in client 000". Now, I am not sure of what is wrong in clien 100. I am not sure if I have to do some settings before I access RSA1 or any other BW transaction. Could you please help me in this.
Also, I just checked the RFC destinations in BW. There is a destination created for our R/3 and I have noticed that they have given a remote UserID and password for remote login. I tried to check the Remote UserID in SU01 but there is no userID with that name. Could this be a problem?

Oracle 9i and windows 2003 R2 installation issues

Hi All,
I have a windows 2003 R2 server with oracle 9.2.0.8 installed both OS and DB are 32bit. The server has 12gb ram and I therefore use AWE and /PAE, however when ever the number of connections exceeds >60 memory errors start to appear and sessions crash. Has anyone out there carried out a successful install of 9i and windows 2003 R2. Can anyone help with the resolution of these issues.

I’ve just restarted the server with its full quota of 16GB of RAM and selected both boot.ini switches (/PAE and /3GB) at server startup. I then amended the dbblock_lru_latches parameter from 128 to 64. Before I even started the database I tried running ‘ipconfig /all’ at the command prompt with the following result:

Connection Between Solution Manager and ECC

Dear Techies,
I would like to install SAP Solution Manager in one laptop and ECC on another laptop. Both the laptops have very good configuration in terms of operating system (both have server editions) , RAM ( 8GB each) and Hard Drive ( 600 GB each). Once the installation is completed, is there any way that I can establish connection between both the laptops over the same internet/wifi ?
