  • Creating RFC dest'n for Registered Server Program

    Hi,
I want to create a create a RFC destination for RFC Sender adapter. I am consulting this weblog:
              /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step
However, i dont know what will be the Program ID and GatewayHost.... Please let me know how they are configured?
    Regards,
    Arpil

Program id can be any name thats unique and given while u select registered server program in sm 59 (while u create rfc destination of type TCP/IP)also its case sensitive, and should be same in both the RFC destination and your RFC adapter.
and gateway host has to be ur own application system not of XI ,(as specified in Michals blog) .
    TCODE : SMGW -> Goto-> Parameters -> Display

    hi Raju,
    it seems authorization problem,

  • List of all service parameters for Integrated ITS

    Hi,
I am looking for the complete list of service parameters for Integrated ITS, with explanation about each of them. Ex: ~command, ~sap-user etc. I have tried searching in help.sap.com and in this forum and SDN blogs. I could find only some of them. I am not looking for anything particular right now. If I have the complete list it would help me to refer the list if I need any one in particular.
I would really appreciate if anybody can help me in this search.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sudhakar.

    Hello Sudhakar,
The best location for ITS Parameter documentation is the online SAP Library at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/54/4d9993c6592941a407313a6763575c/frameset.htm
Here under "Configuration" you will find a list of parameters for developers and administrators.

  • Phonegap integration. Building for Android device

    hey all,
i'm trying to build an apk file for android device.
    Easy with Dreamweaver yes.
Difficulty comes when you try to add some specific functionality : for instance you may want to post some stuff on the user 's facebook wall.
PhoneGap provides a plugin for that : https://github.com/davejohnson/phonegap-plugin-facebook-connect
But this plugin needs some addional stuff from the android SDK. It needs some java classes, namely the facebook android sdk : https://github.com/facebook/facebook-android-sdk
Has anybody any hint on how we could include that stuff in dreamweaver installation?
In my opinion we need to rebuild android.jar (not tried yet) but there may be another solution to tweak Dreamweaver. Or has anybody another solution to post on facebook/twitter from a native apk coming from a jquery/phonegap project under Dreamweaver?
    thanks in advance for reactions/advices/...
    Loic

    I did that on a mac :-)
however it was a standard eclipse project. I had to include the correct JARS (facebook+phonegap) in the library path and everything was fine quite easily. I mean there was no additional SDK to install due to OSX.
What I remember too is this: there is no facebook app installed on the emulator. It means when you run your app on it and try to connect to facebook through phonegap, the browser will open and ask for authentication. On your device, if the FB app is installed a nice popup will open and ask for authentication and authorization (or just confirmation if you are already authenticated).
in conclusion there's no need to buy a mac for that. Be sure to check phonegap forum and post your problem. Phonegap releases have evolved a lot and they are quite responsive.

  • Web Dynpro Java Application for Handheld Device

    Hi everybody,
I have been reading some documentation about what is the best option to create an application for handheld device. So this is my landscape. I have SAP Netweaver 7.4 SR1 AS ABAP, and Java instance. So, I want to know whether is possible to create a normal web dynpro java application and then visualize this application on Browser of handheld device. That's all that I have to do? I read that exist another solution Developing mobile application for handhelds. By other side a need to know how to is the integration of this device with this application if exist. This application is going to consume data from SAP Backend system, so I just have to create JCO's for connect this application to this system, right?
Please, can you help me with that.
    Best Regards.

    Hi Deepti,,
Refer to the following thread which says that you must retrieve the data from the CRM backend system using standard BAPI's or customer Remote enabled function modules (socalled RFC's) and to access the backend system you will have to set up an RFC connection with CRM system.
    Regarding web dynpro and CRM

  • RFC export parameters missing

    Hi all,
My scenario is SAP 4.6 RFC to XI 3.0 to SAP 4.6 RFC...I created function Z_SEND_PCARD_PAYMENTS in 4.6 with export and table parameters....Imported this into XI...Setup messages, interface mappings, etc...When I execute RFC (async) using dest XI and look at XML monitor....I see only my table parameters....My RFC export parameters do not show in the payload....
    Thanks,
    Wiley

    Hi,
    import parameters in the RFC
    are EXPORTING (not export)
    parameters in the calling program
    >>>Setup messages, interface mappings, etc...
did you define messages in XI for request RFC or response?
    (it should be for request)
EXPORTING parameters from your abap report are
import parameters in th RFC and these are request RFC messages in the XI repository
at least that's how it works for me:)

  • RFC connection error for PS_ACCESS_1 and PS_ACCESS_2

    dear all,
i have created the RFC destination PS_ACCESS_1 and PS_ACCESS_2 with TCP/IP. i also installed WDPS* files in *sapgui\ps\access folder. now i m checking for 'TEST CONNECTION' in sm59 for PS_ACCESS_1 and PS_ACCESS_2 but it is giving  'Error when opening an RFC connection' this error. pls suggest the solution for this problem.
am i missing any other settings? i m using SAP ECC 6.0. is it comfortable with this? is it required any configuration from basis side?
    regards,

    HI,
please check the RFC Trace File at SM59 -> RFC -> Show trace file.
For better tracing delete the Trace File first and recheck the RFC Dest.

  • Creation of a database engine for mobile devices using j2me

am trying to develop a database engine for mobile devices.. it is to develop a miniature version of the DBMS that
can be deployed on a mobile phone..I have to develop my own code for performing tasks such a s creating a table,
inserting values into it, selecting from it etc..
I limited my self to develop the software so that it can perform 3 functionalities of create, insert,select..
I should be taking the details such as table name and its parameters from the user and then should be able to
create a suitable data structure for it(i tried to develop a class)...
Usage of RMS package helps me partially in this.. I did that and ll be doing that..
I got stuck while developing the code for creation of a table.. I am facing problems in creating a dynamic data
structure for a table and also to use such data structure else where in my project..
I need help in developing an algorithm for this..
I would be very grateful to u all if u help me out in developing the code for this project..

I'm sorry for the amount of time it took me to get back. Derby is an open source database written entirely in Java. I do not know if it can support resource constrained devices like MIDP compliant, but may work okay with CLDC.
But outside of Derby being a solution, let me give you a few ideas off the top of my head.
Set up a database server in a separate thread. This server will really be your controller for RMS access.
Since RMS is just a big sequential 'pipe' you will have to think of data as 'frames' - (starttable) (tableID) (tablename) (data) (tablename) (data).....(endtable).
When you need to write additional data, just append it to the end of the RMS object.
When you need to retrieve data, thing are more complex.
    1. Read in all data, looking for your particular tableID. This may be made much easier using RMS filters - (I'm not sure, I've never used them)
    2. Once start of table of interest is found, stick the data elements in either a java vector or array until you reach the table end identifier. I think vector will be a better choice - trust me. (I think its available in J2ME...)
    3. Package this into a do while loop until the element you are searching for is read. If you need to do some sorts on the data or something else that requires the all the data to be present then you need all the data for that particular table. One thing will always be clear. The first data you grab will always be some start table identifier and the last data you grab will be an end table identifier. We just don't know which table because of how we put stuff in the RMS resource.
This provides you a few positives as well as negatives:
    Positive:
    1. Fast data writes, no need to search for a particular table before accessing it, nor do you need to search for an index in that table.
    2. When looking for data, data may* be found without searching through the entire table. This is accomplished with RMS filters or logic test within the RMS read loop.
    Negative:
    1. Slow when all data of a table is needed (i.e. compute sums or averages of entries). The entire RMS database must be read to ensure all the entries are searched. An example of how this is a problem is as follows: You have 5000 entries in you RMS database resource and you are looking to compute the average of a value in some table. When you first wrote the data to the table, it was done sequentially and no other data for that table exist. But we can't tell if that's the case, so we have to read through all 5000 entries to make sure we looked for every piece of data.
Beacuse of this issue, this database structure, performance may be fine for 50K - 100K entries (depending on table element size), if the reading requirements don't force full data reads. Otherwise, 25K may be an upper limit.
    I hope this helps.

  • Best practice for creating RFC destination entries for 3rd parties(Biztalk)

    Hi,
We are on SAP ECC 6 and we have been creating multiple RFC destination entries for the external 3rd party applications such as Biz-talk and others using TCP/IP connection type and sharing the programid.
The RFC connections with IDOC as data flow have been made using Synchronous mode for time critical ones(few) and majority through asynchronous mode for others. The RFC destination entries have been created for many interfaces which have unique RFC destinations with its corresponding ports defined in SAP.
We have both inbound and outbound connectivity.with the large number of RFC destinations being added we wanted to review the same. We wanted to check with others who had encountered similar situation and were keen to learn their experiences.
We also wanted to know if there are any best practices to optimise on number of RFC destinations.
Here were a few suggestions we had in mind to tackle the same.
    1. Create unique RFC destinations for every port defined in SAP for external applications as Biztalk for as many connections. ( This would mean one for inbound, one for outbound)
    2. Create one single RFC destination entry for the external host/application and the external application receiving the idoc control record to interpret what action to perform at its end.
    3. Create RFC destinations based on the modules it links with such as materials management, sales and distribution, warehouse management. This would ensure we can limit the number of RFC to be created and make it simple to understand the flow of data.
I have done checks on SAP best practices website, sap oss notes and help pages but could not get specific information I was after.
I do understand we can have as unlimited number of RFC destinations and maximum connections using appropriate profile parameters for gateway, RFC, client connections, additional app servers.
I would appreciate if you can suggest the best architecture or practice to achieve  RFC destinations in an optimized manner.
    Thanks in advance
    Sam

Not easy to give a perfect answer
    1. Create unique RFC destinations for every port defined in SAP for external applications as Biztalk for as many connections. ( This would mean one for inbound, one for outbound)
-> be careful if you have multi cllients ( for example in acceptance) RFC's are client independ but ports are not! you could run in to trouble
    2. Create one single RFC destination entry for the external host/application and the external application receiving the idoc control record to interpret what action to perform at its end.
-> could be the best solution... its easier to create partner profiles and the control record will contain the correct partner.
    3. Create RFC destinations based on the modules it links with such as materials management, sales and distribution, warehouse management. This would ensure we can limit the number of RFC to be created and make it simple to understand the flow of data.
    -> consider this option 2.
We send to you messagebroker with 1 RFC destination , sending multiple idoctypes, different partners , different ports.

  • Changing font size for output device / spool  file

    hi all,
i see only these below parameters for  print in the code of the transaction which gets spool no and output device as input and prints it.
i need to increase the font size of the print out.any help?
    LAYOUT                 = 'X_65_132'
          LINE_COUNT             = 60
          LINE_SIZE              = 110

    Hi Sona,
You can not do that in report.
If you need some output format like font type, color, size you have to use Smartforms or Sapscript.
    Sapscript Tcode: SE71,
    Smartforms TCode: SMARTFORMS.

Kindly help as to from which transaction I can maintain archiving parameters for this transaction ???
    With Regards
    Neha

    Hi,
Which storage device are you using? I can only speculate the problem. Ok. So output type is configured properly. Can you check the object type for your document type in Transaction code OAC3. Check it should be VBRK. If it is not then change it to VBRK. Now go to transcation code OAD5 and check every thing is configured there or not. If it is all done then it should work. I presume that all basic customization is done in your system.

  • Regd. Creation of Port and RFC dest in PI

    Hi Experts,
I have two scenarios 1. file to IDOC and 2. IDOC to file.
for first , i need to connect to ECC for posting IDOC. in sap side they have created port ,partner profile etc.
in PI sides i created an RFC destination(sm59) ,given generic name, i have created port(idx1) and mentioned the partener num say(SAP123) ant type (LS). Loaded the meta data in idx2. i am able to post IDOC in sap.
for the second case,i am supposed to receive idoc from sap.
do i need to create another port and rfc destination ? or simply adding the metadata in the prev created port will help.
Actually i tried creating another RFC dest and port and was trying to assign same partner num (SAP123) and type (LS)
while loading the metadata i get an error saying 'basic type of the IDOC is unknown'.
from SAP side the IDOC status is green , saying idoc is dispatched to the target port. But in Trn. SE58, there is error show.
Is this something wrong in PI or SAP ?
Please help me with the steps to be followed with suggested naming conventions if any.
    Best regards,
    Srinivas

    Hi,
Port type shouldbe SAP SYSID ...it is important that you create the port with this naming convention as the name is very important to be followed...
Try to create the port name with the above mentioned..and give a try...
Also post the error generated in the SM58 ...
