RFC_EXTERNAL_ABORT...call_function_remote_error
Hi,
I am doing a simple RFC to XI scenario...
I am using BAPI_USER_EXISTENCE_CHECK to check for the userid.
all the development and mappings in XI are working fine.
If i test with giving user name initially it is working fine .
but if try to test it immidiately with another userid..then it is giving errors...what could be the solution??
errors are:
Runtime errors: call_function_remote_error
wrong Sender Agreement:The sender agreement does not have channel
and RFC_EXTERNAL_ABORT
these are occuring only when 2nd time executing the interface.
first time no erros it was successfull...
plz help me out in solving this.
regards.

CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR when calling a remote function call through PI
Hello. Thanks in advance for your perspective on this.
We are developing an interface that runs in an R/3 system and is suppossed to perform a lookup in another R/3 system via a PI 7.0 system.
Here's what we are trying to do, let's call these systems "A", "B", "C" respectively.
R/3 -> PI -> R/3
The R/3 system (A) executes code, which calls this function module like this:
CALL FUNCTION 'Z_CHK_MAT' DESTINATION 'XI_RFCADAPTER'
EXPORTING
iv_region = lv_region
iv_matnr = ls_matnr-matnr
IMPORTING
ev_flg_is_purchased = e_flg_is_purchased.
This code, is set via the "DESTINATION" parameter to use the RFC destination 'XI_RFCADAPTER'. This destination, points to the PI (B) system above.
Anyhow, we're getting a short dump in the R/3 (A) system, which is like this:
CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR
"JCO.Server could not find server function 'Z_CHK_MAT'"
From my analysis, I believe this is because the remote function module Z_CHK_MAT does not exist, in the PI (B) system.
Our developer, believes this should just "pass through" the PI (B) system, and call the function module in the R/3 (C) system.
Any insight on this? In this scenario, does this Function Module need to exist in the PI abap side? Can you give perspective / guidance on this?
Thanks a lot
SteveNo need to exist in PI ABAP side.
Just make sure that:
1. as Michal said, you import it in Integration Repository (and use it in your configurations);
2. the RFC Destination type that points to XI is of type T, not 3;
3. both the RFC Destination & the Sender RFC Adapter (and only them) are using the same Program Id.

How to resolve RFC_EXTERNAL_ABORT error?
Hi All,
I am trying to send two variables data of a function module data to non-sap(JAVA) side through RFC.
RFC connection is working properly ,but while executing the program in SE38 its giving error that RFC_EXTERNAL_ABORT
While i tried to do debugging its skipping function module execution and showing this error.I used call function fname
destination rfcdestname syntax. I did all outbound configurations properly .If any body knows ,try to help me to resolve
this issue.
Regards,
K.S.L.Neelima.Error is coming on remote function call .its saying RFC_EXTERNAL_ABORT.

CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR when trying to call Sender RFC
I am trying to use the sender RFC adapter without much luck. I have written a small ABAP program to call the function - it contains the lines:
call function 'mi_rfc_check_picking'
destination 'ZXI-DEV'
When I run this, I get an error "CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR".
"JCO.Server could not find server function 'mi_rfc_check_picking'"
I have not been able to find any clear documentation that specifies what the function name should be set to - mi_rfc_check_picking is the name of my sender message interface as defined in XI. I have tried putting this value in upper and lower case without luck.
In component monitoring in XI, under the RFC sender I get the following error message:
- Error: 2006-08-16 12:08:17 EST: com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (123) JCO_ERROR_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND: JCO.Server could not find server function 'mi_rfc_check_picking'
Can anyone confirm what the RFC name should be? Or offer any other suggestions to help resolve the issue?
Regards,
JasonHi Jason,
Also Check if the RFC is remote enabled..
Please go through this link to know more about the same...
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f9/3f69fd11a80b4e93a5c9230bafc767/content.htm
Also just see if you have used BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT.
And finally, Try checking the userid auth. for RFC destination,if it has remotes access.
To check the same, you just have to do a remote logon from SM59 transaction.

Hi All,
My scenario is RFC to Proxy synchronous scenario and data is sent from 4.6C to ECC system and responds back to 4.6C with the data fetched from ECC.
All the development and mappings in XI are working fine.
The Program dumps often in 4.6C system, When the program is executed initially, it is working fine but the subsequent execution fails with the dump u201CRFC_EXTERNAL_ABORTu201D , As a work around we had to stop and start the RFC sender Channel for it to work fine.
Kindly let me know if the issue is with the RFC destination ?
Dump:
Call to messaging system failed
Error Analysis:
An error occured when exectuing a REMOTE FUNCTION CALL
It was logged under the name "RFC_EXTERNAL_ABORT" on the called page
Internal Notes:
The termination occured in the function "ab_rfcrecieve" of the SAP Basis System.......
Kindly need you valuable inputs to solve this issue
Thank you ,

PavithraHi Rangarajan,
Thanks for your reply
I had went through this thread and checked the RFC destination in SM59 of 4.6C system . I am able to do Remote Logon and the test connection works fine and also the function module is remote enabled, but still the program dumps
Kindly suggest me what are the other check areas .
Thank you,

SHORT DUMP - CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR - Please HELP!!
Hi gurus,
I have two scenarios in PI,
1- RFC to JDBS Asynchronous --> runs OK, insert into external table.
In R3 y call the function at the following:
CALL FUNCTION 'Z_RFC_SAP_TO_SRI' IN BACKGROUND TASK DESTINATION 'RFC_SENDER_DS'
2- RFC to JDBS Synchronous scenario--> DUMP "CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR"
In R3 y call the function at the following:
CALL FUNCTION 'Z_RFC_SRI_TO_SAP' DESTINATION 'RFC_SENDER_DS'.
The RFC user in RFC adapter is a common dialog user, but I think if the first scenario it works also due works in the second.
In PI Moni I have :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>

Communication Channel JDBC receiver hace the following:
Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'IFSS002' (structure 'Statement'): com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'FROM'.
Please any suggestion? I populate in some forums and I cannot solve this error. I'm not sure that message mapping to SELECT synchronous JDBC is correct but I supose RFC function runs correctly but response would be empty and moni shows a red flag. Could be a problem with the SELECT?
I'm confused, I don't know if the problem is in RFC or in mapping synchronous SELECT. I have follow this blog:
JDBC Receiver Adapter -- Synchronous Select Step by Step
PD: If add at the second rfc "in background task" works fine but wothout response. The problem is when function runs synch.
Best regards!!
Edited by: Pablete on Mar 1, 2012 3:03 PMMy RFC request has only two fields, primary key from SQL table.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>

TIPO_EV is key1 and key2 has a constant. If I take this example:
SELECT col1,col2,col3 FROM dbTableName WHERE key1 = field1 AND key2 = field2
How can I mapping col1, col2, col3 in JDBC request if in RFC request I have only two parameters wich are connected with key fields???
PD: in mapping request and response I'm using RFC directly, not a message type.

Hello Everybody!
I am implementing a scenario wherein:
1) Data is passed from R/3 to xi and then to a web server.
2) From webserver the updated data is sent back to xi.
3) A particular field is boolean checked in XI, if true the data is sent back to webserver.
4) and then again the updated data is sent back to r/3 via xi.
R/3 ---> XI ---> Web Server ---> XI -(If condition true)-> Web Server ---> XI ---> R/3

Saras JainHi,
possible solution could be a ConversionException in you RFC Adapter because of mismatching data types in your source and receiver message.
Just goto RWB an monitor the Processing Details for Cluster Node Server of your adapter in the Channel Monitoring.
Afterwards you have to adjust your importing or exporting structure of the used RFC function module.
Cheers,

Data pull failure in Production (Working fine in Development)
Hai,
I have an UDConnect scenario where I am pulling data from an Oracle database. In development when I tried pulling data with a selection in infopackage for 0CALDAY infoobject with a date range, it is pulling the data. But if I try to do the same thing in production it fails with an error JOB IN SOURCE SYSTEM TERMINATED - REQUEST SET TO RED. Even if I try to do a full upload it fails with the same error. It doesn't work in RSA3 also in production. But all works fine in development
Kindly help as it is ver urgent.

Hi ,
my scenario is RFC->XI->JDBC. I made necessary settings(RFC destination,
sender RFC adapter,sender agreement and Integration design
objects).Then I wrote following code;
CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_BUS2054_GETDATA'
IN BACKGROUND TASK
DESTINATION DEST
EXPORTING
I_PROJECT_DEFINITION = P_POSID
I_LANGUAGE =
I_MAX_ROWS =
TABLES
IT_WBS_ELEMENT =
ET_WBS_ELEMENT = IT_TAB1
ET_RETURN = IT_TAB_R
EXTENSIONIN =
EXTENSIONOUT =
COMMIT WORK.
When I executed this program I got no errors and it was processed
successfully.However inbound message payroad(t-cd:SXI_MONITOR)in XI
was empty,like this;
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<rfc:BAPI_BUS2054_GETDATA xmlns:rfc="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">
<I_LANGUAGE />
<I_MAX_ROWS>0</I_MAX_ROWS>

<ET_RETURN />
<ET_WBS_ELEMENT />
<EXTENSIONIN />
<EXTENSIONOUT />
<IT_WBS_ELEMENT />
</rfc:BAPI_BUS2054_GETDATA>
So I executed program again in debugger mode, and there are no records
in ET_WBS_ELEMENT...
Then,for the verification I rewrote my code like this and executed again;
CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_BUS2054_GETDATA'
EXPORTING
I_PROJECT_DEFINITION = P_POSID
I_LANGUAGE =
I_MAX_ROWS =
TABLES
IT_WBS_ELEMENT =
ET_WBS_ELEMENT = IT_TAB1
ET_RETURN = IT_TAB_R
EXTENSIONIN =
EXTENSIONOUT =
It finished successfully and there are records in ET_WBS_ELEMENT...
How can I get return table record 'in background task'? Does anyone
have ideas?
Best Regards,
YukHi,
Thanks for your reply.However I got new error message...
I delete 'in background task' from the source code and retry execution. Then my

Unable to load data from an ODS to a Cube
Hi all,
I am traying to load data from an ODS to a cube, and I'm getting the following msg at the bottom of the screen monitor: <b>"No corresponding requests were found for request REQU_BZUH9ZPYNL5XLQNB7K8IQDKFS in the ODS/Cube" Message no. RSBM043.</b>
I am unable to load the data. The QM status is yellow. When the process starts, on the left hand of the monitor it shows: "0 of 84408 records" which is ok. I load that with this package before and it works well.
Can you help me what I have to do? I tried to wait but it was the same: no progress and no data in the cube.
Thank you very much and kind regards,
MM.
May be this helps...
When I look at the status, it says that I have a short dump at BW. It was CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR and the short text is "The function module "SUBST_TRANSFER_UPGEVAL" cannot be used for 'remote'". This short dump occurs very much before I shoot the upload.
Thanks again.Hello MM,
Can you do the following..
make the Total status Red Delete the request from cube.
goto ODS -> Remove the Data Mart Status -> Try loading it again.
The error message that you get is common when we are trying to run a infopackage with the source object having no new request, (means all the requests available in the source are already moved to the targets). So please try the steps given above.
Hope it will help! -
RFC connection error between BW 3.5 and ECC 6.0
Hi gurus,
We've defined an RFC destination between BW 3.5 and ECC 6.0. Connection test (SM59) is ok, but authorization one fails and ALEREMOTE users block. These users on both systems have good profiles. We look ST22 and find a runtime error on CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR. We've cleaned source system on BW and RFC destination and we've created one more time, but error doesn't disappear. We've looked OSS but don't find anything.
Any idea? Is there any other place (users, RFC) where we have to change user password on system?
Thanks a lot!
Regards,
Iván.
Edited by: Iván Cabezas Castillo on Nov 6, 2009 12:09 PMSolved!
This is because of the incompatibility of password handling between
640 and 700 systems.
We have to use a maximum 8 character long password with only capital letters (numbers are also allowed) for the user "ALEREMOTE".
1. Change the password for the user in SAP R/3.
2. Maintain the password in SAP BW for the RFC destination (transaction SM59 - Logon/Security tab)
3. Authorization test is now successful.
(SM59 - Test - Authorization).
Regards! -

SAPLSTTMYes even i find it strange. But there is no syntax error and the fact is that it was working 2 days back. Suddenly it has started giving us this dump.
The code is as follows.
Commit design BAPI's
CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT' .
IF save_okcode = con_order.
Commit order BAPI's
CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT'
DESTINATION 'NONE'.
Here con_order is CU01.
Please let me know if anybody has faced this problem earlier.
Thanks in Advance
