RFC/Function base for iViews

For iViews in the EP Content Library:
Is there a single point information source that provides the BAPI/RFC/Query names and profiles underlying the individual iViews listed in the iView Content Library?

Hi,
If you are Looking for the standard Iviews that come with the Business then you should download the concerned docu from Iviewstudio.com or sap serviceplace.
If this is a general question, then you should search for say Bapi via trans BAPI in SAP and for RFCs via SE37.
SAP Does not publish any standard list i think.

You can call RFC(remote enabled) from R/3 through Models in Webdynpro Java.You need to have JCO destinations.You connection properties of backend System

RFC Function Module for e-rec

I need to call a function module with ECC as the destination from my E-Rec system.
The input parameters being:
    PLVAR -- Plan Version
    OTYPE   -- Object type
    OBJID   -- Object Id
and Output Parameter:
    PERSA Personnel area
Can you please suggest any Function Module which is RFC enabled and has the above parameters?

Hi,
to connect, if u hve the FM in R/3, just check if it is RFC enabled. If it is not, create ur own ZFM copying this FM(wat u need) and make it RFC enabled by clicking RFC radio button in the attributes tab of your ZFM.
Now goto SM59 and take the logical system id of the system where your ZFM is there and give this logical system id after calling the FM in your system where you are calling this FM.eg:
CALL FM destination 'logical system id'. and this FM will be executed.
think RH_GET_CONTROLLING_INFO might be helpful but as this is not RFC enabled u can try with the above approach.

Problem while calling an RFC Function Module in Background

Hello,
I have created a RFC function module for reading data from an external DB system. The FM calls an external RFC program (coded in C++ using RFC SDK), which delivers the required data. This external program is maintainged as an TCP RFC Connection in SM59.
Further I have created a report, that calls the RFC function module to get the data from the external RFC programm.
My problem is, when I call the report in foreground, everything works OK, the RFC connection works and data can be read from the external program.
However, when I schedule the report to run in background as a job, the report is stating in the protocoll that there was a problem calling the defined RFC connection (although the connection is working properly at that time).
More funny is, this particular problem with running in background occurs only in the productive system, in test and development system the report works correctly also while running as a job in background.
Can you suggest the solution to this problem? Could it be something with authorisations or server settings?
I will be on holiday for the next 6 weeks, so take your time to answer .

This is an external RFC server program, not a remote enabled ABAP RFC function module as the others seem to be assuming, right?
Is it possible that your DEV and QAS systems only have one application server, but the PROD has many and dedicated one(s) for processing low priority background jobs?
It might be that the target server of your TCP connection is not this BTC instance, and your RFC server is returning the data "locally" - so, into nirvana...
Just guessing, but might be worth checking.

Calling RFC Function module from JAVA

Hi All,
We have created a RFC Function Module for Billing Plan tab in Sales order (BDC). The function Module contains BDC. When we are running the same function module in SAP it is working fine. But when the FM is called in Java , it is allowing only maximum of 5 entries , when we trying to insert at 6th position in billing plan tab, we are getting an error.
Can any one help on this.

I think the problem is because of the number of lines displayed on the screen in the BDC session in the Billing Plan.
You might have to add the page down logic to your BDC program.

We get initial exception when we click on "portfolio management" tab in the portal while accessing xrpm. The details of error given in the below. We have done the integration as per master guide for xrpm 4.5
I have Integrated the Portal (EP 7.0 EHP1) with backend R/3 ECC6.0(EHP3) with xRPM4.5.
We have installed business packages CPRXRPMUI08_0-10003793.SCA,
BPPPMDC08_0-10003980.SCA.in the portal server.
Please let me the solution

RFC Sender error could not create function template for...

Hi,
I am trying to send an async RFC to XI. Since I use IN BACKGROUND TASK and COMMIT WORK I got following error in the SM58 of the back end system
Server repository could not create function
template for 'XYZ'
In the XI, I see nothing (no message, no error)
How can I fix this problem?

Hi Thomas,
You may need to have logical destinatio types for sender RFC. (and in the refernce entry you need to provide the actual destination)
may be some other errors also, Check this link and see if you have followed all the steps.

In our current practice Functional consultant is dealing with end user. He is taking requirement of new Report/Transaction access request & doing analysis. Then he is taking approval from BPO & based on BPO approval Functional consultant is providing training to end user. When end user is accepted requested report requirement in standard report or transaction data process then Functional consultant is sending request to Basis consultant along with authorization parameters like Role, Organization parameters, type of activity (create/change/display/delete) etc.
Our Basis consultant is not agreeing for this process & he want to directly deal with end user for all activities & he will take help of Functional consultant if required.
Sorry friends this is not technical discussion but it is create big dispute between our internal support team regarding who will be first point of contact for any authorization related issue?

Authorization Matrix that define "what position may have access to which authorization/ role" shall be developed by User (Management), with support from BASIS. User is the one who have the authority to decide, while BASIS should help User in understanding the technical knowledge of access authorization.
