RFC - How to configure RFC

Hi all,
I need to configure RFC in my SAP system in order to execute remote functions in a machine that accesses the SAP trough ITS. ie, this machine is not in the same network with the sap server, it passes through a gateway to achieve the server. how does the SAPRFC.INI file looks like? what is the connection string in this case?
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Sérgio Nuvunga.

  • How to configure RFC

    Dear Expert,
I have make a program in VB . Through VB when I connect SAP . My Login Pad comes.then I give user name & password . But its give RFC error  and say check CPIC.
So please help me how I Configure RFC link in SAP via sm59  . Please tell me step by step.
So that I come in sap via my this VB program.
    Thanks
    manu

    Hi Manu,
Here I am giving example of connection Non SAP ( Informatica system) to SAP system. For this,
You need to type logical system name in RFC destination field. You can give the logical system name of non-sap system in SAP thorugh tcode BD54.
Then You need to select the connection type. As it is non-sap it wont be R3.It will be T ( Start an external program  via TCp/IP).
Also you need to register the program id filed in Informatica & select radio button regiatered server program
    Hope this helps.

  • How to configure RFC scenarios

    Hi all,
I am creating an outbound RFC async interface and an inbound RFC async interface.  I have read the SAP Help documentation on 'Configuring Sender RFC Adapter' and 'Configuring Receiver RFC Adapter'.  What are the steps involved for each?
    Outbound:
    1. Create RFC connection in SM59 in R/3.  The outbound connection must be type TCP/IP.
    2. Configure the sender RFC adapter in XI.  The Program IDs in the RFC connection and RFC adapter must match.
    3. Activate the sender RFC adapter to register the Program ID in the Gateway.
    Inbound:
    1. Create RFC connection in SM59 in R/3.  The inbound connection must be type R/3.
    2. Configure the receiver RFC adapter in XI.
    3. Done.
Am I missing any steps or are any steps not correct?
Does anything need to be configured in the SLD for the RFCs?
Are the RFC types TCP/IP and R/3 correct?
    Thanks in advance!

  • XI and RFC - how to configure by using 5000 IDocu00B4s

    Gents,
    can you help me ?
We´re using the matmas interface to send all material changes/new materials from one system to antoher system.
    We made an BPM.
    1. receive
    2. RFC CAll remote (get some values from an XI Table)
    3. Multimapping a) Matmas03 b)RFC Response into MATMAS05
Our mapping and BPM works fine.
But only for a few IDoc´s.
We tested with 5 to 7 IDocs. Sometimes it works but sometimes it craches(RED FLAG) cause of communication error. But we need 1000´s of IDoc´s.
Now we´re trying to change the remote RFC call into a local abap mapping.
Did you know a way (remote or local) to build this interface that we could use more than 5000 IDocs at one time ?
    Regards,
    Gordon.

    Hi Gordon,
It appears that others have faced this problem too, Some of them tried to avoid BPM, because of the performance issues like yours. This was probably before SP13, though.
    Check this:
500.000-1000000 IDOCs per day via XI?
However, if you must use BPM, use the multi-mapping feature (n:1 Transformation). You can try the 'Context' features in BPM. There is some useful documentation on SAP help, and also at:

  • Configuration RFC in Third-Party System?!

    Hi,
I try to connect a R/3 4.6c to the XI Server. I guess I configured the SLD right, but now i have to configure the RFC connection.
    My idea in SM59:
    Connectiontype: 3
    target host: /H/1xx.xx.xx.xx/H/1xx.1xx.1xx.xx/H/
    (external IP, Internal IP)
--> actually i am not sure how to configure this
    User: XIAPPLUSER
Well, for the pro's i guess something seems to be wrong, and that's why the connection is not working.
    Need some little help!

I have created an RFC function module which pushes data from R/3 system to XI. I need to configure this RFC in SM59. I am having XI server details and R/3 server details. Anyone can help me how to configure this and what kind of connection i have to use. so that data is pushed  to XI system. we are having a bunch of RFC's in our project. we need to create configuration for all the RFCs.
                  and what is Program ID?
Please give me the sequence of steps for configuration.my mail id is [email protected]

    hi poorna,
step 1- first go to the transaction sm59 and here you can
create a destination for R/3 to R/3 server type 3.
step 2- Now give the IP address for the another R/3 system (XI) here
and the system no will be 00 (default).
step 3- press save. now go to the second tab logon/ security
here declared the clind no, language , user name and
                             password.
step 4- press save and then check the test connection.

  • How to create Rfc for EP system in Solution manager

    Dear experts,
I am doing ChaRM configuration for my EP system ( java only).
I also configured CTS+ successfully but we want to integrate this with Chram in solman.
I have done all configuration according to standard doc for ChaRM.
But when creating project from solar_admin it is giving "   NO RFC for DEP system"
so please suggest me how to create RFC for java system in Solution manager.
    thanks in advance
    dhiraj

    Hello,
You need to setup an ABAP communication client and system, that's done through the TMS settings:
    For source system:
    - CTC                                              1
    - CTS_SYSTEM_TYPE                          JAVA  (others for a MDM system)
    - NON_ABAP_SYSTEM                          1
    - COMMUNICATION_SYSTEM:              (SAPSID of the ABAP communication system (e.g. the domain controller))
    - NON_ABAP_WBO_CLIENT                    (Client of the ABAP stack on which the Transport Organizer Web UI (CTS_BROWSER) is activated and will run.)
    - WBO_GET_REQ_STRATEGY                 TAGGED
    - WBO_REL_REQ_STRATEGY                 MANUAL
For quality and production Java system (target systems):
    - CTC                                              1
    - CTS_SYSTEM_TYPE                          JAVA (others for a MDM system)
    - NON_ABAP_SYSTEM                         1
    - COMMUNICATION_SYSTEM:                 (SAPSID of the ABAP communication system (e.g. the domain controller))
    - DEPLOY_WEB_SERVICE                       CTSDEPLOY
    - DEPLOY_DATA_SHARE:
When this is done correctly, you will see the fields ABAP communication system and client populated in SMSY.
When ChaRM needs to operate on the non ABAP systems, it will take the RFCs for the communication system and client.
    Best regards,
    Miguel Ariñ

  • Configuring receiver RFC adapter to use RFC destination

    Hello,
I have been doing some digging, but I can't find a solid answer on how to configuring a receiver RFC adapter to use an existing RFC destination to call a 4/6C R/3 backend system...  Our scenario is to WS --> SOAP --> RFC which is up and running in production just fine on NW 7.0, SP12.
I ask this question because we, as a company, do not like to maintain passwords in multiple systems.  That is necessary when we use the receiver RFC adapter now since SNC is a distant pipe dream for us and we would like to use an existing RFC destination that is set up to call the backend system using a logon ticket.
I checked the relevant links I could find below, but I can not resolve the answer from them.  Has anyone set this up successfully?  This link (RFC Destination type RFC Receiver Adapter?) mentions it briefly, but it does not go into any length on how to set it up.
    Thanks!

    Re: Asynchronous RFC call

    Hi John !!
I suggest you to create a new user, without dialog access in your ECC system to be used exclusively by the XI system to access ECC. And then, always use this user in all RFC receiver adapter communication channels.

    Matias.

  • How we create RFC in SAP R/3

    Hi all.
I want to create a iview and when i click on preview or Deploy, it shoud display screen of Transcation SE11.
I think we can do this by creating RFC of transcation(SE11). So Please tell me-
How we create RFC in SAP R/3 for transcation SE11.
    I will rewards u points.
    Thanks in advance
    waiting---
    Naresh Kumar

    Hi Naresh,
there is better way, you can display an transaction in the portal with an iView. Then use this URL of the transaction, then you can insert a html view with the URL of the transaction.
You can add tabs with different transactions for example.
    Best Regards,

  • How to use payload from standard RFC MessageType in a RFC Lookup function

    Hello
We have a DB sender to call an BAPI. The DB receiver gets the BAPI response.
It is an easy scenario with one mapping.
But the RFC Mapping Lookup is very awful. You have to rebuild all open and close tags to get the RFC payload. A lot of concat functions are a must. The error search in such a mapping is not easy and seems like EAI developing 1990 (Hand am Arm).
Ok, it is better as a BPM, but it is not well for first level support person and release changes and trouble shooting.
How can I use a XML payload from first mapping in my RFC Mapping lookup (second mapping)? There must be a way with two mappings and an easy RFC lookup.
    Currently (one mapping):
DB sender format -> ( RFC lookup self-made RFC XML structure) DB receiver format
    My dream (two mappings):
DB sender format -> RFC SAP XI standard Format ->(RFC lookup by using Payload from first mapping) DB receiver format
I hope someone can help me with an example.
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
If i understood correctly, urs is a 'Asynch' scenario JDBC to JDBC with a RFC lookup in Mapping.
If its so, then i think wat u r expecting can be done. In Interface Mapping, u can add more than one message mappings.
So first do a Mapping for DB sender format - RFC input standard format,
then another one for RFC sender Format - RFC receiver format, (look up code goes in this mapping).
Then third one from RFC receiver format to DB receiver format.
The order n which u add in Interface Mapping is also important. This is a suggestion, i havent tried this, but still i think u can give it a try.
    Regards,
    P.Venkat
