RFC, IDOC and secure connection

Hello
Does RFC/IDOC support secure connection like HTTPS?
How the data can be encrypted?

Hi,
As Moorthy  Quoted  RFC will help you,
This will be help you for encrypying the data.

  • When to use RFC ,Idoc and proxies

When to use the RFC,IDoc and proxies.
What is the difference in using RFC,Idoc and proxies.
I want the therotical explanation of it.
I gone through some of the links.
i want the explanation which is there in simple words
and which is easily understand by the bigginers
those dont know more about adapters.

    hi,
You use all these three things when the sender or receiver for XI is R/3 system.
You use proxy in sap 6.0 version or higher.
you use that when you dont want to use an adapter.
or very high volume of data has to be transfered.
you go for rfc which can be synchronous as well as asynchronous

  • Regarding Error handling and customisation in RFC, Idocs and Proxy

    Hi,
I wanted to compare RFC, Proxy and Idocs on the basis of the amount of customisation required in ECC when sending data from ECC to XI using the above stated means and also the error handling provided in these methods.
Please let me know in detail if possible.

    Hi ,
Check this blog to know when to use which adapter:
      /people/ravikumar.allampallam/blog/2005/08/14/choose-the-right-adapter-to-integrate-with-sap-systems
we use proxy in sap 6.0 version or higher.
Basically used for adapter less communication
& very high volume of data has to be transfered.

  • I'm getting 'an ssl error has occurred and secure connection can not be made' I have upgraded to the latest OX version, but no joy in downloading a wetransfer file

I have received a retransfer file and if I try to open it I get the error message detailed above.

Have used it before with no problems.
    Times have changed.
Older versions of SSL has been found to have some problems that have been patched (several different times) with Apple Security Updates. Unless wetransfer has kept up and patched these vulnerabilities, you may not be able to establish a secure connection with them (due to their software being out-if-date).

  • UPD, Black Screen, and Securing connection

    Hello All,
I have configured a Server 2012 R2 RDS setup. I have the RDCB's in HA and have allowed access to the collection (Pooled Desktop) via the RDWA server. All of the connections come from Windows 8.1 to windows 8.1 stations in the pool. UPD's are configured and
hosted on a share on a secondary server. Most of the time everything works correctly; however, when I do have issues it is one of the following 3.
    1. The user logs in and gets a temporary profile. The cause is that the UPD is locked from the last log on. There is no way to remove the lock without restarting the UPD server; however, this causes every now log on to get a temp profile until the server
    is back on line.
    2. The user logs into the system and instead of the desktop are presented with a black screen and a mouse pointer. I found a reference to this being linked to the loading of the UPD as well but I have not been able to prove this yet. (http://jjstellato.blogspot.ca/2014/06/are-you-thinking-of-using-user-profile.html)
    3. The last issue is when a user clicks the collection icon on the RDWA page it starts to load the rdp connection and it gets stuck at securing connection. It will just sit a securing connection forever. I am using a wildcard certificate for this setup that
    we have purchased.
All of these issue are intermittent and usually hard to reproduce on a consistent basis, so if anyone has any ideas on any of these please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
For temporary profile issue you can delete the registry key once and then check the result as per bow article.
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
ProfileImagePath: Find specified user name and delete it and restart to verify the result.
RDS 2012: Profile Disks and Temp Profiles
As you have purchase wildcard certificate, but please check that the certificate is placed under local computer/Personal store folder and also place under “Trusted root certificate” check the box “Allow the Certificate to be added to the Trusted Root Certification
Authorities store on the destination computers. Please go through this article for certificate related case.
    - Configuring RDS 2012 Certificates and SSO
    - Certificate Requirements for Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2012 Remote Desktop Services
    Hope it helps!

  • JEditorPane and Secure Connection failed

    Hello,
I have created a simple application that shows the resulting HTML page from a URL connection using JEditorPane. This works fine except when I try to connect to a URL that needs a user name and password.
Using a straing URL connection I am able to connect but when I try to use the JEditorPane there is no method, as far as I know to get the connection and pass it to the EditorPane to use. I have tried the following :
context is with in a class that Extends the JEditorPane:
    setContentType("text/html");
InputStream is = getSecureInputStream(username, password, tmpStr); // returns an input stream from
    // a URL connection
    HTMLDocument doc = (HTMLDocument)getDocument();
this.read(is,doc); // try to get the JEditorPane to
// read from the input stream
    I get the following error:

  • Safari and secure connections

    Hi all
My MacBook has quite literally in the last few minutes developed an issue which I thought was long dead. It won't connect to secure sites. I couldn't even post this message using Safari as I couldn't log in!
Has anyone had this on Tiger? Fixed it? Really could do without this problem!

    Well guys
After rebooting 4 times but making no changes of any kind... it's now accessing secure sites, although very slowly. At the moment this computer appears to be going through some kind of episode, simple things aren't working properly or going very slowly.
For example, Apple+w to close a windows on everything... bar a finder window lol
I'm beginning to think the unthinkable... a reinstall of OS X! Behaviour appears to be more erratic over the last few hours after I ran a software update and installed a fair bit updates as it hasn't been updated in a while.
    Oh well.

  • About applets and secure connection

Hello. I've read some threads but I can't understand a thing about applets and SSL.
I've a signed applet. This applets is embedded with applet tag in a jsp page.
The applet works as a file uploader.
With signing, the applet can access to the user file system without problem, open a connection with the server and upload files.
Now, If I want to use HttpsUrlConnection instead of the standard http connection, what certificate does the applet use for handshake? Does the applet automatically use the same certificate used for signing?
    Thank you

  • JCO RFC provider and JCO connection

    Hi all:
Please share your thoughts on the following doubts I have. Thanks.
    1. To my understanding, we use JCO RFC provider(define in Java side) and RFC destination(in SM59) when we have request from ABAP to Java side. Then we use JCO destinations(define in Web Dynpro Content Admin) if we have request from Java to ABAP. Is this correct?
    2. When creating the JCO RFC provider service, why we need to create those entries for repository for example, the server name, the user used to log into repository? What is the repository used for?
    Thanks!

    Hai,
your understanding of JCO RFC and RFC Destination is right. But JCO Destination gets the metadata and model data from ABAP,thats what we mention the Dictionany meta data and Application data while creating them.
Yes, we need to mention the application host, sys no,client and userdetails while creating the JCO RFC provider, then only it will fetch the data from that host and that particular client.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • DBACOCKPIT - MSSQL Named Instance, RFC and DB Connection different systems

    Hello All,
SAP is installed as a Central Server. Database and Central instance on a single host with the database on a Named Instance.
I have configured the dbacockpit as per SAP Note 1388700 - SQL Server Remote Database Monitor in Solution Manager 400 for my Named Instances. I have a working database connection %_<SID>_<HOSTNAME> with the DBCO Connection Info referencing the MSSQL_SERVER as <HOSTNAME>\<SID>. Full line:
    MSSQL_DBNAME=<SID> MSSQL_SERVER=<HOSTNAME>\<SID> OBJECT_SOURCE=SAPSolMan710
In dbacockpit now as an additional action I try to edit the connection. I select the checkbox by RFC destination, first message with a Red LED is 'This is not the local system, please specify a RFC destination. I select any RFC destination referencing the host, even custom made ones. The response after logging in to the target (when not using Trusted RFC) is always the same.
'Red LED', SMP, RFC destination and database connection describe different systems.
In the home screen of dbacockpit if you now select 'SLD System Import' the systems with a Named Instance are still available under 'New Database Systems in the SLD'.
Now edit the system again, remove the RFC destination and Save. This will write to the SLD.
If you now log in to the SLD, Administration, Content Maintenance, 'Class' Database Systems you will now have a new System with 0(zero) associations. This system has SystemHome = <HOSTNAME>\<SID> as such it will not match to the SAP System. I have edited the Database in SMSY to directly reference the Database connection but even this does not help
Has anyone come accross this? What is the resolution?

    Hi,
Could you please post the errors that appears while configuring in the DBACOCKPIT t code at the bottom of the screen?
According to that we can determine, whether it is able connect the database correctly or not.
    Cheers

  • Reg: RFC / IDOC required for doing CIDX Scenario

    Hi! Gurus,
This is Amar Srinivas Eli. I have task here to work and implement CIDX Scenario succesfully. There are some business cases as per the CIDX standards from that I was selected one Business case i,,e, FORECASTING.
But inorder to implement that scenario I need some RFC's or  IDOC lists from SAP side whether it may be a source or target side..what ever it may be...and other side will be CIDX format.
Here I need your help in the below mentioned tasks. Kindly help me out in a detailed step by step guide and do the needful to me.
    1. How to get RFC / IDOC name from R3 System and I know that I can get RFC from SE37 and IDOCs
from WE05 but I need whether all the required fileds are statisfying in the RFC's or not.
    2. My first preference is only for STANDARD SAP RFCs or IDOCs.
    3. Please let me know how to see the inner fields present in those RFC's
    4. ALso please provide any configuration guide which contains screen shots if you already worked
earlier on CIDX Scenario I mean step by step and also for testing
5... tell me if there is any other tool other than STK kit for testing CIDX messages.
    6.  Is there any Freeware STK tool kit is there or not...
Also share your experience and errors that you have faces while doing this CIDX Scenario.
    Regards:
    Amar Srinivas Eli

    Hi! All,
    Thanks for your fast response..
    Hi! Raja,
I gone through your points. Here I have few doubts on those please clarify that.
    1. Coming to testing i didt used any testing tool , but you can comre your output using XML Spy or Stylus studio.*
*CIDx Documents, you wil find in SDN please search in SDN.
Means Without using STK Tool or else some other tool How can I get the CIDX response for my request in the Testing environment. See I am not doing this in  real time I am trying to findout the solution for Business cases so I need one testing environment tool right ? Is that ALTOVA XML spy will give no right ?
Note: You told that you have done that business case IDOC--CIDX Order change / req Will you please share the information documentation I mean step  by step procedure for end to end doc...based on your scenario ?
    2. I know those R3 and PI settings I mean configurations means ports and RFC destinations and all those..but only thing I dono is "How you got that IDOC I mean on what basis and how did u search the IDOC?"
    3.  See Here I am working on topic FORECASTING it includes so many sub tasks like Deman PLan req and response, supply plan req and response and replenishment order and etc....so based on that how can I get those related RFC's or IDOC's in order to communicate from R3 Side
If Suppose I have seen one RFC/IDOC and for example out of 10 fields few are there in one IDOC and another few are there in another IDOC then in that case I need to go for Multimapping IDOCs I mean 2 Senders to one Receiver if yes Is it possible?
My first requirement is based on the above mentioned business cases how can I get the corresponding RFC's or IDOCs ?

  • Difference between idoc and rfc

what is the difference between idoc and rfc? when and where it is used? when there is idoc, why rfc vice versa?

IDoc (for intermediate document) is a standard data structure for electronic data interchange (EDI) between application programs written for the popular SAP business system or between an SAP application and an external program. IDocs serve as the vehicle for data transfer in SAP's Application Link Enabling (ALE) system.
IDocs are used for asynchronous transactions:  Each IDoc generated exists as a self-contained text file that can then be transmitted to the requesting workstation without connecting to the central database.
Another SAP mechanism, the Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) is used for synchronous transactions.
A large enterprise's networked computing environment is likely to connect many geographically distributed computers to the main database. These computers are likely to use different hardware and/or operating system platforms. An IDoc encapsulates data so that it can be exchanged between different systems without conversion from one format to another.
IDoc types define different categories of data, such as purchase orders or invoices, which may then be broken down into more specific categories called message types. Greater specificity means that an IDoc type is capable of storing only the data required for a particular transaction, which increases efficiency and decreases resource demands.
An IDoc can be generated at any point in a transaction process. For example, during a shipping transaction process, an IDoc may be generated that includes the data fields required to print a shipping manifest. After a user performs an SAP transaction, one or more IDocs are generated in the sending database and passed to the ALE communication layer. The communication
layer performs a Remote Function Call (RFC), using the port definition and RFC destination specified by the customer model.
The IDoc is transmitted to the receiver, which may be an R/3, R/2, or some external system
    RFC
Remote Function Calls (RFC) and data exchange through IDoc message documents. RFC makes direct and synchronous calls of a program in the remote system. If the caller is an external program it will call an RFC-enabled function in R/3 and if the calling program is the R/3 system it will call an RFC-function in another R/3-system or it will call a non-R/3 program through a gateway-proxy (usually rfcexec.exe). BAPIs are a subset of the RFC-enabled function modules, especially designed as Application Programming Interface (API) to the SAP business object, or in other words: are function modules officially released by SAP to be called from external programs.
note:reward points if solution found helpfull.....
